The Ultimate Take On Libra Characteristics

Libra is all about truth, beauty, and their Whim Of Steel. Browse anecdotes that illuminate Libra’s characteristics through cool real-life examples. They were initially collected in the comments for a perfume competition. Now they’re just a testament to the traits of this hyper-Venusian Air sign.

“My sister and both parents are all Libra rising. Very different sun signs underneath, but the common denominator I see in Libra-anything is a sense of calm presence in their bodies, and looking ‘appropriate,’ without being boring. Another good friend is Libra sun, and the air about her (beyond being ‘airy’) is of creative coordination – she is a gifted stylist, and gave the best haircuts, makes the most beautiful scarves, and gives excellent, calming advice. I’m a Scorp, so I find this measured take of hers refreshing. The scent sounds divine – wish the net came with smell-o-vision.”

“As a multiple Libran… All I secretly want to do? Drink pink Champagne in the Louvré wearing Valentino. Everyday. For. Ever.”

Beauty, Harmony And The Whim Of Steel

“Libra is so often talked about just in the beauty and harmony sense. I have experienced a lot of “the dealer” kind of Libra energy too though. I lived with a Libra who attracted a lot of deal-making into her life–“you do x for me, I do y for you.” And she was very skilled at bartering skills for crafts, crafts for services, that kind of vibe. Sometimes I noticed she would end up feeling she somehow got an unbalanced deal, leaving her feeling taken for granted. She is a massage therapist, hypnotherapist + clothing designer. Very fun energy.”

“In the film Notes on a Scandal, when Judi Dench first observes Cate Blanchett she comments, “Is she a Sphinx, or simply stupid?” This is the best description of the mystification others feel in my presence, and I credit my Libra stellium. (note: I am not stupid. Yes, I saw that film rather than reading the book, but only because I knew it would be more beautiful. I am a Sphinx.) So I was born knowing how to seduce, beguile, charm. I have been told by shamans and therapists and friends alike (I know a lot of people, but am highly selective regarding true friends) that I came into this life understanding the one secret that everyone else is clamoring for: how to be an enchantress. And I put a lot of effort into enchantress-ing; it takes effort, some nervous stress, and extreme attention to detail, but absolutely no work goes into “figuring out” how to charm. I just know.”

The Scented Saint

“I’d like to describe a spiritual encounter of the Libra kind. Many years ago, an Indian saint known as Amma, came to visit the city I was living in. You may also know her as The Hugging Saint, as hundreds of people line up every day to get a nice, long hug from this Indian holy woman. I had read that some people who had been hugged by her had experienced bliss; some had had their ailments soothed; while others had felt overwhelmed by various emotions, causing either tears or laughter; and there were even those, who had felt uncomfortable by such proximity with a stranger. After waiting in a long queue for close to three hours, it was my turn. What would it be like – would I feel her love flowing through me, soothing my heart? Would I swoon with spiritual bliss as my essence blended with the Infinite?

The answer is yes – I felt all this. What I wasn’t prepared for, was that I would experience this higher state of consciousness through her scent. In her arms, a euphoric feeling spread within me as a soft-edged, but a potent cloud of perfume enveloped my very essence, transported me to the sacred garden of my ancient and elusive memories, and where my heightened, melded senses were awash with gold-hued colors and scents, transporting me to everlasting peace and grace. The brief moment was endless. I left her arms with her perfume infused in my heart and with a feeling of sereneness, I had not felt before, except in dreams. I felt balanced and whole. My previous problems seemed irrelevant.”

After many years since that incident, and a lifetime devoted to scent gathering, I can still mentally, conjure up Amma’s scent to transport myself to that garden of beauty and peace. I later found out that The Hugging Saint uses a perfume (Amma’s Rose Oil) based on rose and sandalwood – the scents related to love and interconnectedness, respectively. It is a lovely perfume but only an allusion – an earthly imitation of the sacred scent I breathed in on the day she hugged me. That scent is my private prayer and key to my soul’s garden. From what I have since learned through the art of astrology, is that it is not surprising, then, that Amma aroused my Libra Ascendant/North Node through scent. It is also not surprising that Amma, the fragrant Hugging Saint, has her Sun, Mercury, Neptune, and Saturn in her 11th House – in Libra. Viva Venus!”

  1. You people make it SO hard…but there is only one winner and tonight, on this Eclipse Eve (at least it is night where i am) voila the winner is Skarab!!!

Please email me so we can get this couriered to you, hopefully in time for the Venus Neptune conjunction!

  2. I think the essence of a Libra is translated into The Empress tarot card. Elegant, fine, very gracious. They are liked by others easily, without knowing them. Like you want to be around them because of what you can learn from them. They transmit a sense of wisdom. It must be their natural graciousness. These people wear their invisible crowns like no other. They bring light into a room, or air, like breezy air on summer nights. I am describing my friends with sun and moon in Libra 🙂

  3. No, no, no, dear mystic, no! Big scent, big chemical, knock em down a block away?! Just no. Who do you think we are, Leos??? I’m Sun Libra, sensitive, sensual and under-stated in sweetness. Yes, yes, in the 80’s it was big hair, blue eye shadow and body sprays but that was before I understood the essence of me not the essence of Dolly magazine. Harsh chemical scents are soooo overwhelming to our sensitive skin and noses and distracting to our balance. They overwhelm the natural rhythm and delicacy of our systems. A Libran should smell almost subliminally delicious, soothing, calming and just a hint of complex luxe and come-hither. Strange and Invisible indeed !

    1. Amen! Also love “subliminally delicious”.
As a fiery conflicted libra (with leo rising and aries moon), I still hate too obvious over-the-top statements.
      Sophistication is a libran religion.

  4. I can see why some people think Libra’s are superficial. But there are no other sign that gets affected, impressed or overwhelmed by beauty like Libra does. (And we always hope to touch others with beauty) When it is lacking, melancholy creeps over me and I question my ”raison d’être”. If I am surrounded by crude people, the wrong lighting, bad smells or a disharmonious decor, I basically stop enjoying life, I can’t think straight. I want my space to be beautiful, I love beautiful people that smell good, I love to be beautiful. I am in love with beauty.

Sure Taurus are sensitive to beauty but they do not perceive her most subtle expressions.

I live for beauty, I worship it in myself and in others and I will do ANYTHING to preserve it. I have dozens of little jars, oils and serum, jewelry that pairs with the colour of the sky on any given day, purses and shoes to match my emotions. I almost always judge a book by it’s cover and I will judge you by your cover also. People come to me when they need advice on aesthetics because they know I have a sound judgment in these matters.

Sure we are needy but that’s because we thrive on feedback. There is nothing more bewitching for a Libra than to see their beauty reflected in the eyes of a lover.

    We are Venus worshippers.

  5. My Sun is at 21 Libra so I’m getting the Uranus opposition to my Sun right now. My brother and his wife are both Libras and I have dated Libras. This, is my LIBRA RANT

Don’t let the dimples or the charm fool anyone. The downside to the whole Libra vibe is that we’re Pleasers and hate that anyone would dislike us. Harmony is a God to us, as well as Peace. But…all that aside, never forget that Libra is also Cardinal.

Libra, with all its Pleaser and Harmony and Passive-Aggressive vibe, is the “Everything You Can Do, I Can Do Better. Yes I can Yes I can” The obsessiveness of making sure that if one takes a step forward, another must take a step forward in equal or greater measure belies the myth of the adorable charm of Libra.

I’m a Libra surrounded by Libras. I’m no longer fooled. I dated a Libra and he could not absolutely stand that I was just as ambitious, just as cardinal and just as steely as my Air Sign Goddess as he was. He thought I was competing with him. I was. And he was competing with everyone else.

And then I dated another LIbra. This time, a Libra Sun, Libra Moon and Pluto in Libra. I liked to bug him with “I don’t know, what do YOU want to do?” Because for God’s sake, he’s a guy, make the DATE already. And yes, we always “went Dutch” on dates. That got old especially – since he got paid 15K more than me. I got a real good glimpse of Libra energy that was outside of my own ego. This has opened me up to a new interpretation:

Dwight Eisenhower shares my birthday. Libras are plagued sometimes of getting downloads from the Universe in the Full Scope. We get the whole thing at once – plots of books, strategies, ideas, business plans – the entire scope – beginning, middle and end. Big picture, Big vision, pros and cons. We try not to get fooled by our dreams, yet we can see where our dreams can go. The Bird’s Eye view of the long view…the big strategy. The End Game. I’m not surprised that many generals are often Libras. My first boyfriend, the Libra competitor, went into the Army and served as a Diplomat. He fools a lot of people because of that slick winning smile, but he now teaches students how to arm, provide logistics and create strategies for fighting wars and battles. He’s ruthless and he teaches how to be ruthless. Eisenhower was charming and loyal to his friends. He remarked how he couldn’t understand how his Vice President didn’t have friends. What Libras don’t realize, is that we can use our friends and disguise it so it doesn’t look like we’re really “using” them. It took me a long time to stop “using” my friendships and start “giving” to my friendships instead. Oh, I have been taught that by my friends. Thank you Virgos for the honor of cleaning up my act!

Some people say that Libras are Aries Wannabees who went to charm school. As someone who has her progressed ASC and Moon in Aries now, I’m totally finally getting this. Libras need people but they need to stop bending over too just to get partnered with someone. Earlier in my professional life I was obsessed with collaborating with a partner all the time. I couldn’t see myself working alone. Now I realize that that was Libra talking – that need for collaboration was really me needing to show someone else how much better I was than they are. No, not a lot of my “partnerships” really worked out. I was too Cardinal for that.

It is my belief that while Venus rules Libra, I think that is the ancient ruler. Libras should be ruled by Eris. Competition and feeling like crap if left out, we will still compete to get equal standing and recognition even if it means being a little sneaky and militant. Even Lillian Gish (both Eisenhower and Gish share my birthday) hid her aggressive self – she advised one actor to always “get a percentage of the gross”. She who specialized in playing “GaGa Babies” survived working in Hollywood and Broadway wasn’t a pusheover herself.

Oh yes, dimples and lace and sugar and spice. Libras will make the best dinner host or hostess that will pair up the most sparkling conversations with guests who actually diametrically oppose one another. We are the peacemakers – and the ones who can see reason and say it out loud. But also, the indecision, the fairness at all costs. No Libra wants to admit that there is a Oneupmanship going on within the King or Queen of Diplomacy. By mirroring others, its hard to see the reflection in ourselves.

But this, I see in myself, my brother and sister in law who think that my honesty in making sure my brother pays rent (he’s 47) to my mom as a privilege of living in her house and driving her car (while she lives in a senior apartment) is totally unfair and mean. I’m trying to be fair to my mom. We are all fighting for Fairness in light of my mom’s (91) care but if I’m doing all the work, and he’s living scot free, that is not fair – not fair to me. And I’m the one looking like the bitch. So yes, I see the shadow side of the beautiful passive Libra – including myself – doing everything I can to ask myself the Truth: Is throwing my brother under the bus in order to be FAIR to my mom’s situation, is that really ethical? Is demanding that he pay rent/compensation while I’m doing the work to care for my mom being FAIR to me? (answer – mom wanted to keep him living in the house for free so I walked.)

No one wanted a confrontation. (My mom is a 12th house Sun in Aquarius, 0 degrees Pisces rising). My brother owes decades of unpaid unfiled taxes – and I called that out. Talk about passive. Libra brother hid that truth from himself. His Libra wife knows about it and keeps that hidden too. Libra sister (me) is fed up with the crap (Progressed Sag Sun now, with progressed Mars on Cap Ascendant, Progressed ASC and Progressed Moon in Aries – Truth telling now) because ultimately, the truth, when dealt with proactively will set one free. Libras finally talking truth to one another can be a highly ugly experience…we want to avoid the ugly at all possible costs….it can be very challenging.

So while this isn’t what a Libra is expected – we like to place nice – I’m getting to know the shadow side of Libra (thank you Uranus in Aries) but I think this will only bring the necessary depth to what can be a very generous and gracious trait. Trust me, having a Sun in Libra is a llot more fun than not. I do tend to think of the Sun shine on me as “my own personal Klieg Light” and I know I”m not the only Libra who secretly believes that.. Learning how to be less pass/agg and embrace the transparent cardinal side of Libra can be very empowering.

End of rant. I know that this post might piss people off – so, in true Libra measure, I apologize in advance I offend and wish you all a smooth eclipse sailing season.

    1. “Libra, with all its Pleaser and Harmony and Passive-Aggressive vibe, is the “Everything You Can Do, I Can Do Better. Yes I can Yes I can”
My favourite tune to hum! I agree with you on a lot of observations. Yes to cardinal, super-competitive, passive-aggressive, manipulative, ruthless shadow side. But this a libra out of balance, they desperately need to calm down.
A libra at peace with themselves is a different matter.
Libra also sees “beauty in the darkest places” (as another libran sings..) and has a dreamy side. My bf has libra-rising and “dreamy” was the first things that struck me when I saw him. Something in the eyes and the smile. Something un-mistakenly libran.
It is usually a depressing ordeal to read all the hate-mail directed at libras. Ranging from “shallow and superficial” to “pure evil”. And that old chestnut “needy”. How boring. And fucking rude! Obviously one thing we hate is rudeness (insert a wink and a passive-aggressive smile here). With the same passion virgos might hate lack of attention to detail. Got nothing better to say – don’t say it all. Live and let live.

      1. So.. I think I have figured it out. May I?.. The essence of a balanced libra – a (naturally) effortless fusion of elegance, sophistication, serenity with the air of dreaminess and innocence. Whether a libra is actually innocent is questionable but unimportant.

      2. I wrote that with Uranus opposite my SUN EXACTLY at the very time! I’m still feeling that Uranus Aries vibe as I type this. I’m sure that if I didn’t have those aspects my rant would have been softer, kinder, and more balanced…as it was it was lengthy…but…I guess I am still processing the whole Libra/Aries dynamic. The I vs Us is very challenging to Libras.

  6. I’d like to describe a spiritual encounter of the Libra kind.

Many years ago, an Indian saint known as Amma, came to visit the city I was living in. You may also know her as The Hugging Saint, as hundreds of people line up every day just to get a nice, long hug from this Indian holy woman.

So I went along for the experience. I knew nothing about her, except that she was a spiritual leader who had earned international recognition for her charitable contributions to the world community.

In her arms, a euphoric feeling spread within me as a soft-edged, but potent cloud of scent enveloped my very essence, transported me to the sacred garden of my ancient and elusive memories, and where my heightened, melded senses were awash with gold hued colours and scents, transporting me to an everlasting peace and grace. The brief moment was endless. I left her arms with her perfume infused in my heart and with a feeling of sereneness I had not felt before, except in dreams. I felt balanced and whole. My previous problems seemed irrelevant.

After many years since that incident, and a lifetime devoted to scent gathering, I can still mentally, conjure up Amma’s scent to transport myself to that garden of beauty and peace. I later found out that The Hugging Saint uses a perfume (Amma’s Rose Oil) based on rose and sandalwood – the scents related to love and interconnectedness respectively.

It is also not surprising that Amma, the fragrant Hugging Saint, has her Sun, Mercury, Neptune and Saturn in her 11th House – in Libra.

    Viva Venus!

      1. Thank-you fellow raw chemical/mineral scent lover!!
Those smells also do it for me…. old ports and fuel on sea water … or airport tarmacs…. mmmm :-).

      2. Ah! Glad to hear I am not alone! 🙂 Unusual scents fascinate me, it’s not even a matter of whether they’re “pleasant” or not.

    1. Divine!! I have always wondered about Amma and what her hugs give, but not even thought of her astrology.
You could sending this into Living Now so others understand? This is just fabulous.

Btw, I have read a bit on Padre Pio the relatively recently departed Italian saint and it was recognised as one of his initials of having been present in a place was the intense fragrance of spring flowers and it would last in some cases for many hours or even days. (He was a Gemini with Cancer Moon like my hub, lol)
Etheric flowers and crystals are totally a thing.

Thank you for this Skarab! I feel her hugging essence via you!

      1. Thank-you sphinx – i’m so happy to have shared this story with all you lovelies. What i’ve enjoyed most about writing it up was the actual discovery – after so many years – of her natal chart! I had only intuited that she would have a strong Libra – but crikie – that’s quite a stellium – and in the 11th too – in fact she’s like the poster girl for the 11th House. And her Moon in Venus-ruled Taurus as well. I just love how astrology has added that extra dimension in seeing the WHY as far as my experience with her is concerned.

Yes – i have only recently heard of Padre Pio and the scent – but due to my bias against the catholic church, i didn’t bother reading up about it – but i guess i should. And i will check out Living Now too. Thanx sphinx. xx

      2. Yeah my mum had a lot of such books around I didn’t exactly seek it out either.
Yes I love Amma’s chart – what fabulous 11th, I would love a breakdown from MM!

    2. Year of the Phoenix

How lovely! I also be hugged by the Holy Queen of Hugs and YES a very sweet and kind scent of love!

She hugged me and then asked a helper for some ash which she put on my third eye – anyone know why? Felt pretty special as this was not done to the literally thousands of others there

      1. That sounds pretty spesh, Phoenix!
I’d be curious as hell. I bet you could find out what that means if you email Amma’s web site.

      2. From a blog I found:
“It was sandal wood that you were blessed with. When it dries it turns some what white in Color.
When this is given it is one of the highest prasads that one gets besides of course amma’s hug and love. I was told at the last retreat i did that sandal wood cools us down. The sandalwood paste, smeared on foreheads, cools the vital spot between the brows, prevents anger, thus soothing both body and mind, a necessary condition for achieving peace of mind. With are minds open we are then open to the Divine Love of the Mother.” It is given when a person is agitated or something and sometimes she smears it on people on arms of properly upset.

  7. Sun, saturn, jupiter, pluto in libra.
I don’t like strong scents, even less so artificial. They disturb my very sensitive equilibrium.
In the last couple of years I have switched to natural skin and hair products (in addition to natural household cleaning stuff). All I wear is a pleasant subtle natural deodorant, a natural lip balm with a hint of refreshing colour and a bit of lightly and beautifully scented biosilk oil in my hair.
I don’t need to announce my presence with a scent, rather share it with those who are trusted enough to be in close proximity.
When it comes to my personal style, the key element is elegance. Sometimes quiet and understated, sometimes bright and passionate. Never vulgar. Never fake. I can equally relate to the sophistication of Catherine Deneuve and the passionate creativity of Frida Kahlo (I am a leo rising with a lot of fire in my chart and a 4th house stellium).

    1. we have the same planets in our Libra stellium! I love that. my only fire is mars (well, neptune too) and then I am pretty much all water otherwise. nonetheless, I definitely relate to your description. 🙂

      1. I have a ton of fire! Mars, venus, rising, moon.. And only a watery scorp mercury (and retrograde at that..)

  8. Sun/Mars/Lilith in Libra here, so I’m going to describe my personal taste.

I’m not the most fashionable person in my day-to-day, but if I need to turn it on for a specific purpose, I will. My approach to dressing for a night out is: no matter what character I’m channeling, everyone who sees me either wants to be me or fuck me. The “be me or do me” line I heard from fashion bloggers Tom and Lorenzo. This doesn’t mean wearing high-end brands, which I can’t afford, or a lot of makeup. It’s more about curation of all the right style elements, the right playlist during the getting ready ritual, and the right attitude when I walk out the door. Always keep a breath mint in your purse. I don’t wear heels, especially on a date, because they slow me down — if he turns out to be the Clyde to your Bonnie, you never know where the night will take you. Bonnie happens to be a Libra.

Aesthetics: Magazines layouts that aren’t too cluttered, but make purposeful use of white space, typography, and image to create an impact. Websites that still look like they’re from the early 2000s give me grief. Bathroom counters should be clear and toiletries inside drawers or cabinets, not sprawled next to the sink.

My dream flat would have big windows for natural light, shelves of books and all kinds of tea and spices and whiskies, and a cake stand to display perfumes. I’d decorate with vintage-style space travel posters that NASA recently released and succulents. There would be a place for sports equipment, too, to satisfy the Sagg influences: space for a poledancing pole and yoga mat, storage for camping and rock climbing gear, a hook on the wall for a snowboard…In the bedroom, incense and crystals. In the bedside drawer, massage oil and sex toys.

Current perfume: Carnal Rose by Frederic Malle. Yes, it is strong, and it lasts all day. It smells like getting seduced in a French garden or making love on satin sheets covered with flower petals. (LINK: http://www.fredericmalle.com/eu/perfumes/carnal-flower)

  9. LeoEscapeArtist

    Natal Stats: Sun-Saturn no Earth
Progressed Stats: SunMoonMercuryVenus all in Virgo..Pleeze help me!–lol
I love Air…I need Air…I want Air…my natal LibraMoon is seriously in need of a boost. Natal Mercury progressed briefly in2 Libra and has now retrograted back in2 Virgo and as he’s re-tracing old ground, he’s telling the others all sorts of tales from his time in the Land-of-Libra. He just crossed over Venus @ 29 Virgo and said, Babe, ur a rainbow in waiting and rainbows smell beautiful so get thee a classy scent now! 😉

  10. I am a Libran Queen. Like a good Libran Queen, I am half of one thing, half another, so it’s only half of my chart that’s in Libra. Stellium in the 11th house (Sun, Saturn, Jupiter, Pluto + Isis nestled between my Jupiter and Sun). Seriously mysterious high magic.

In the film Notes on a Scandal, when Judi Dench first observes Cate Blanchett she comments, “Is she a Sphinx, or simply stupid?” This is best description of the mystification others feel in my presence, and I credit my Libra stellium. (note: I am not stupid. Yes, I saw that film rather than reading the book, but only because I knew it would be more beautiful. I am a Sphinx.)

I was born knowing how to seduce, beguile, charm. I have been told by shamans and therapists and friends alike (I know a lot of people, but am highly selective regarding true friends) that I came into this life understanding the one secret that everyone else is clamoring for: how to be an enchantress. I put a lot of effort into enchantress-ing; it takes effort, some nervous stress, and extreme attention to detail, but absolutely no work goes into “figuring out” how to charm. I just know.

I start most of my statements with “I”, as you’ve noticed by now. I am self-centered, yes, but largely kindly and forgivably so. I like to to look in the mirror. I find myself beautiful. I am staunchly anti-foundation, but pro-mascara and lip gloss, or now that I am in my 30s the perfect shade of red or pink lipstick. I prefer soft fabrics and curve-hugging eye-catching patterns.

I feel more moved in the presence of beloved works of art than in the presence of most of the many people who fall in love with me. I am always partnered, often for a substantial amount of time, with an average of just one month between lovers. I can’t stay on the market. I am the lover they never forget (bi-sexual, of course) and many have told me they still remember and fantasize about my scent years later.

I have seven essential oil blends by my bedside, all natural and delicious, and I never wear the same one two days in a row. I am a priestess of Ochun (the most Libran deity, btw) and my priest instructed me to wear a different scent each day to protect from those attempting to practice black magic on me due to jealousy.

Yes, my Sun is in its fall. It is hidden in the 12th house. It is not the strongest Sun, I will admit, in a world so admiring of brute strength. But I have the power others long to have, and beauty being my highest value, I would never trade it for anything. I am a Libran Queen.

    1. Postscript: My favorite and most Libran scent I have owned to date is Night Flight to Venus by Living Libations. I would never tell anyone what it was, but, now that I don’t wear it anymore, I’ll share.

  11. Libra is so often talked about just in the beauty and harmony sense–I have experienced a lot of “the dealer” kind of Libra energy too though. I lived with a Libra who attracted a lot of deal-making into her life–“you do x for me, I do y for you”–and she was very skilled–bartering skills for crafts, crafts for services, that kind of vibe–except sometimes I noticed she would end up feeling she somehow got an unbalanced deal–Pisces moon–leaving her feeling taken for granted.
Her partner is also a Libra actually, they both do massage–and she is also a hypnotherapist and clothing designer–among other things. Very fun energy.

  12. As a Libra, I never want my scent to overwhelm, but I do want to wear something that stands out — sensual, beautiful, a unique fragrance. A breath of fresh air, if you will. Everything in balance.

Maybe Libras go in for synthetic scents, the way a vegetarian Libra (me) might still rationalize wearing leather, because I want to. I love the idea of all-natural everything, but so often the products are inelegant, and if it’s not beautiful it’s not coming into my home. A beauty product that’s both lovely AND natural is gold.

  13. I am currently doing Lilith in Libra in the 4th as our lady Lilith returns to my natal point–so my relationship with Libra is something like: “I will be free to live in beauty and harmony, fuq with that and feel my MAGNIFICENT power as I restore myself and my surroundings to balance.” Think JUSTICE–

I recently found out my friend Katana Fatale, a model among other things, is a Libra–google her, she is fabulous. She makes me gasp in awe and joy–she has that kind of beauty that induces happiness and makes you feel good.

  14. My stylish Scorpio mother loved Patou and Patek Phillipe. A deep secretive mysterious Scorpio with a superfluous talkative Sagg.daughter. Poor darling……

That Libran Moon sure loves aromas of the beautiful kind.
Still have some Civet and Ambergris that was given to me by a perfumer, forbidden in aromatherapy as they are from animals.

  15. My sister and both parents are all Libra rising. Very different sun signs underneath, but the common denom I see in Libra-anything is a sense of calm presence in their bodies, and looking ‘appropriate’, without being boring. Another good friend is Libra sun, and the air about her (beyond being ‘airy’) is of creative coordination – she is a gifted stylist, and gave the best haircuts, makes the most beautiful scarves, and gives really good, calming advice. I’m a Scorp, so I find this measured take of hers refreshing.

The scent sounds divine – wish the net came with smell-o-vision.

  16. (My) Hecate rising in Libra 1st house, awakens to the ‘scents and herbs’ of this blend. Stirring up a sorcery in the house, she catches the eye of nearby Libran Jupiter/Saturn. A quick pause, for a moments rest, from their constant ‘push/pull’, which eases the tension in the room. While in late Libra affairs, Pluto, ‘suddenly changes’ his gaze from conjunct Lilith, to peer at a bewitching Hecate down the corridor, bathing in the aromas – leaving Lilith a moment of independence.

I think my 1st house Libra Stellium needs to get stirred. I’m particularly drawn to the thought of basil notes, incredible.

  17. AsAbove_SoBelow

Big-statement smells are hardly libran, as vulgarity is so off putting to a libra. More like refined balanced clean balmy sents for everyday, enchanting for evenings, and cosy woody for winter time. Putting libran tastes in one box is simply impossible, however be it floral, woody or fresh the sent must unify complex notes creating a multifaceted yet balanced sent. BYREDO Accord Oud is one of those sents…pure olfactory bliss.

  18. I have never yet commented on a post though I’ve been a subscriber for several years.
I’m a Libra, Libra Rising lady dating a Libra Man. We both have Venus in Scorpio.
It is a flaky, non commital, beautiful and highly sexed love affair that started strong like the description of this perfume. Maybe we’ll have something else in our charts to keep it lasting without synthetics, or maybe we won’t. As long as I like the smell of a partner I’ll stay. Their scent tells you all you need to know. It tells if they are faithful, if they are in love with you, if they are about to hit the road.
With my moon in Gemini and whole chart underpinned by Neptune I would love to add this perfume to my Arsenal. It sounds beautiful.

  19. it is true about smelling Libra from a long way away..but this Libra(me) smells natural like vanilla and patchouli and some vetiver and neroli..I love grapefruit for cleaning, not on me as cologne.
I think it is hard to pin point one scent for a sign because each day we change our mind a little and become something else again..also, my moon is Capricorn, of course I would want earthy and mossy chypre or fougere scents..
Today I am wearing cedar and fir with a little elemi because I want to smell like a hippy in church!
Everyday we change a little bit.
I hope today is more like tomorrow:)
    xx
    I love you my Mystic!

    1. Interesting you say about being able to smell a Libra from far away. People often remark I smell like Patchouli though I never use patchouli or and products containing it.

  20. Not in the running of this scent as Librans and their personality leave me cold. Grandiose statements is so apt. Beneath the lovable exterior is neediness for attention, an audience for all events/ occasions and highly controlling of the people around them. More than Virgo, they preen and work out to the point of exclusion of everyone just because perfection is achievable when Librans are around. But they chicken out like a flash if there is remotely a chance their interests are at stake, imagined or real.

      1. Ha, thanks for that. Not intending to put through a winning comment, just articulating my experience.

    1. I have a Libran brother and sister-in-law. Both generous but yes, both deeply needy.

I have very few Sun Librans in my life. More a Scorpio, Pisces, Aries, Sagg fiend. And pretty much all my friends have Gemini Rising like myself – go figure ;P

      1. That’s my experience too. You have Libran brother and sis in law. You didn’t choose them. But it’s always telling which signs we predominantly choose to have around us.

      2. AsAbove_SoBelow

I am the libran in my family, surrounded by a Scorpio and two Pisces sisters…Cap mother and Scorpio partner. I would have to be the least needy person from all of us. I tend to be needed, rather than be needy.

  21. I just ran out of my sampler of Libra! It made me feel *put together* like nothing else. Mature, grace-filled, mentally on point, sharp as a needle and soft as a cloud. True it did not last long, but its initial strength would put me in a zone that lasted hours. I’d get whispers of it coming back now and then reminding me to straighten my back, soften my heart, and get a firm grip on my own willpower. Brilliant. With Scorpio and Aquarius it’s my favorite of SI that I’ve tried (samplers).

I am Libra Sun and Mars. I’ve always been drawn towards essential oils and away from the chemical perfumes. So many feel fake to me but then again I can’t say I’ve gotten to experience the highest end varieties. I can sense chemical perfumes across a room and well after the individual has passed left the area. Strangely though I enjoy complicated raw chemical or mineral smells such as bleach, sulphur, alcohol, blood, and combustion fuels…no doubt from a past life as an alchemist. (South Node Libra? conjunct Mars…could it be a love of Martian fragrances?) After all, my Libra Sun is in the Via Combusta along with three Scorpio planets.

A note on aesthetics: my Libran partner is the cleanest and most organized guy I have ever met or seen. House super clean, no clutter (attic empty, basement orderly, zero inbox), very tasteful and minimal furniture and art. I always think of Virgo as the sign of cleanliness and was surprised to see ZERO Virgo planets/points in his chart…but then it all made sense: Pluto, Uranus, Sun, Mercury, and MC in Libra. (My Virgo Moon/IC and Libra Sun love this!) He manages it all without being anal, OCD, or a ‘clean freak’, and I think *that* is the beauty of haute Libra vibe, at least in the home. 🙂

      1. Aqua feels like ineffable nature magic, and not the scent I would expect when I think of that zodiac sign. MM’s description is right on and what made me decide I absolutely needed a sample: “It smells Norse, smart, resourceful in multiple dimensions and powerful – like a mountain forest with secrets. It’s not so much come-hither as protective of auric integrity – it is a power fragrance that would most likely only even be picked up by the discerning and together.”

  22. Having a libra moon in love you is the absolute best because you are the bee they want and the intensity is unparalleled. My husband is Libran moon, Mercury, Pluto conjunct. I suppose the Pluto helps with the intensity, lol.

    1. I would agree with this! I was once loved very well indeed by a Libran moon man. He found the perfume I wore so sexy on me. He would nuzzle into my neck and say, ‘You smell fantastic.’ After we broke up he wrote me long and tortured emails about going to department stores for tester bottles of my perfume 🙂

  23. I am deeply Venusian by way of being a 5-planet Taurean vixen. However, I DO have my natal Pluto in Libra in the 5th house.

An avid balcony grower, I cultivate my own herbs and chillies for culinary purposes, however, I am slowly inching towards making my own home beauty and spa products. Not to re-sell, just for me. Creating concoctions which speak to ME divinely. Which make love to the senses to sanctify not only the body temple but the sacred space that be my home. My son knows come the cooler seasons that Wednesday is “Sacred Bath Night” and to leave me be until I am done (Bless him) and

I really want to try this brand’s products eventually. Do they have a stockist in Sydney, AU where we can go test them out and see which one resonates as I no longer live in Los Angeles 🙂

  24. You had me at grapefruit. I have a love of scent with this, what I consider unique, exotic, and fresh, yet feminine. My current fav is a Salvatore Ferragamo for La signora (not for a Ragazza giovane)
Lib sun, Leo Asc, Sag moon.

    1. I used to buy this Rosemary and Grapefruit shampoo and conditioner when I lived in Vancouver, Canada. Sadly, they deleted that product, as well as their awesome Ginger and Grapefruit body lotion. Time to make my own 🙂

    2. Guerlain made a perfume called Pamplelune (grapefruit moon) just so fresh and youthful, don’t think it is available anymore so am guarding my last few drops.

  25. Imagine a day when Aphrodite arrived to tell you she had seen you from afar and wanted to bless you with a kiss. This is the fragrance of

    that bliss

  26. Year of the Phoenix

As a multiple conj Libra (Jupiter / Mercury / Uranus) 1st House scent has always been extremely important! As a Sun / Pluto / SN Virgoan essential oils are my MO

I love to layer with homemade beeswax ointments made from Perfect Potions oils like Lavender, orange and yang ylang along Aesop Bergamon hand balms, sometimes in my hair.

I spent a few years as a masseuse and studied aromatherapy and find it powerful still with a day not complete without an essential oil or 3 to link me to the magic of perfume

    1. You’re the second person this week to cite their devotion to Perfect Potions. I LOVE their Fire Blend, I have it in the awesome “nipple” diffuser I bought through their store over the holiday season but I deeply dislike the other element blends and out of all the Chakra ones I only like Heart and just barely. I am thinking you buy their separate oils like Rosemary etc How are they? I am getting deeper into oils and right now the few I own are bought from Springfields and Oil Garden Aromatherapy.

And and all suggestions for good quality organic oils appreciated from anyone and everyone. Thanks in advance 🙂

      1. Year of the Phoenix

I absolutely love their Rose Absolute : ) The Venus and cannot give this brand enough love! When I studied massage waaaaaay back in the late 80s the person who came to my school to teach aromatherapy was none other the Sal the original creator! What an inspo that guy was! Even now I remember his enthusiasm and passion for the purity ( see above Virgo pile up) and the magic and real power of real essential oils!

      2. After Jurlique tripled their prices for EO’s, found a Perfect Potion stockist and used their oils for a while, not blends tho’, and found them acceptable for their price, alas they are no longer available in SA. LOved their whole concept.

      3. Perfect Potion oils are fantastic I have been using them for years and they don’t disappoint. I am more a fan of their pure oils rather than blends – that said their Study oil blend is really powerful and their sleep balm works wonders on kids and grown ups who can’t settle – a little on the chest and forehead is magic.

The other incredible thing is their Rosemary based hair oil – it’s miracle stuff but you do need to be prepared to sit with a really oily head for a few hours

      4. I LOVE Rosemary for the hair. I used to buy a Rosemary and Grapefruit blend when I lived in Vancouver and I miss it. It’s especially good for brunettes. I was eyeing their hair balm, will def peep now as I have bought enough for my discount price next order 🙂

      5. None of those three things come up in search – do you happen to have the ‘label titles’ on hand, Ms. RLSV? 🙂
