Like most Pagan festivals, it is seasonal and agricultural in tone. Halloween was held traditionally in the Northern Hemisphere as an acknowledgment of the coming dark in a climate where Winter could wipe you out. It honored the dead but also included rituals to scare off any potential such threat.
So Halloween can seem arbitrary, a decadent binge-out and vague nod to the generations who lived through eras where any Pagan celebration was a crime.
However, what if Halloween was genuinely weird? This year it is.
The Horoscopes are going to be talking more about this over the coming weeks but basically: The Sun will be at 8° Scorpio which is the Halloween/Samhain degree. It’s always there.
But Venus and Uranus will be in exact opposition at Zero Taurus and Zero Scorpio, with the Moon’s Nodes squaring Venus and Uranus from Zero Leo and Zero Aquarius. It’s unusual. I can’t find a previous time it occurred. The Venus-Uranus part of this happened first around September 12 and repeats in December. No way will relationship stasis hold.
Uranus square the Nodes is a gigantic catalytic vortex vibe. It is in effect from now until December 31, but exact on Halloween. It’s rad for relationships, new friends, regeneration and original business concepts. It’s geopolitically wired: note the incoming Uranus in Taurus themes already – food security, trade wars, bees, honey, nationalism versus globalism.
On a personal level, it could manifest as sudden love developments, inventions, and clarity re where or how you want to base yourself. Think also grassroots feminist-witch revival. It’s the weirdest Halloween vibe in memory and it’s all happening across the Zero Degrees Axis.
