The Christmas Club Is Open!

Filed in ASTROLOGY

Welcome to the Mega Mystic Members Christmas Club – your zone for hanging-out and discussion over the Saturnalia break.

Obviously you can talk amongst yourselves about whatever you like but here are some topics that you may like to riff off:

  • The whole last week of 2017 is Jupiter in Scorpio square the North Node in Leo – this is like a gigantic Scorpion push toward visionary North Node in Leo dreams – don’t be drab, awaken the giant within, dazzle, live large, shine your light.    So are you feeling this yet?  And if so…how?
  • Saturn in Sagittarius stripped the delusions and Saturn in Capricorn is going to equal a new, stronger structure built on truth. Do you have a blueprint for this yet?
  • Dior casting 25 year old Cara Delevingne as the face of their anti-aging skincare range. Okay, so i love Cara as she identifies so strongly as a Leo but really? At 25 i could look excellent regardless of what i did or did not do. This seems totally out of alignment with Saturn in Capricorn which is more Maye Musk in tone, don’t you think?
  • Jupiter amplifying Neptune for a LOT of 2018 as new revival of magic?
  • The addition of multiple Leo Meaghan Markle to the Brit Royal family – Leos RUN in royal families, it is ridiculous.
  • Post-Saturn Fatigue being felt by Sagittarius people but Capricorns newly invigorated by having their boss planet in his sanctuary sign?
  • Retro Venus in Scorpio this Oct-Nov in the Via Combusta – this particular Retro-Venusian Voodoo occurs every eight years, potent and mysterious as fuq. Thoughts?
  • Is stoicism the only really relevant philosophical approach to Saturn in Capricorn, Caligula still being president, the endless Harvey-style revelations and it being 2018 already?
  • This:

“A two-thousand-year record of diaries, journals, pillow books and “confessions” shows the way putting thoughts in paper allows a person to develop a deepened sense of individual life as well as independence of opinion. Private reflection creates the freedom to venture past what is generally held to be true – within the refuge of a journal’s bound pages one can hold an opinion at odds with others and not pay an immediate social price.

  • The Trickster’s cultural role is to counter rigidity and the forms of authority, and the tricksterish effects of literacy are ultimately personalizing and democratic, however slowly the process unfolds – which may be one reason that many cultures made writing a carefully restricted skill, kept especially from women. By allowing its practitioners to think, see and act for themselves as well as by its ability to safeguard the already known, writing allows originality and idiosyncracy of perception and statement to emerge.”

    Jane Hirshfield

  • Sonnets to Orpheus, Part Two, XII
    Rainer Marie Rilke*

Want the change. Be inspired by the flame
where everything shines as it disappears.
The artist, while sketching, loves nothing so much
as the curve of the body as it turns away.

What locks itself in sameness has congealed.
Is it safer to be gray and numb?
    What turns hard becomes rigid
    and is easily shattered.

    Pour yourself like a fountain.
Flow into the knowledge that what you are seeking
finishes often at the start, and with ending begins.

Every happiness is the child of a separation
it did not think it could survive. And Daphne,
    becoming a laurel,
dares you to become the wind.

Saturn is less than a degree conjunct my natal Saturn.
Also exact trine to my Mars Pluto.
Jupiter will turn Rx less than a degree off my natal Jupiter
Therefore it is Squaring my Merc cj Uran. (Wild excessive ramblings; ha ha)

Come baaaaack, Mystic, I miss you. ;-( Hope you are enjoying your break. It just snowed here in north Florida for the first time in many years. They closed schools and roads and everything, lol. They don’t dare let us out in the streets in this type of weather. Hurricanes we can handle. Not snow. Gonna go check the scheduler and hit the tarot…

Today was warm grey and sultry. Walked through the bush along a muddy track, the cicadas hitting that pitch that fills your mind and empties it at the same time. Down to the still ocean waters to slip into the cool green envelope. Back along the track dripping all the way home feeling the dirt under my feet. A hot shower, a drag on the finest green and sit to watch the cricket. Heavy lids and I’ll say goodnight, (to dream the weirdest dream sequences I’ve had in ages! ) Tomorrow the sun has been promised to return and I… Read more »

I was looking up different New Years Day rituals and I saw one about living the first 12 days as tho they were the 12 months of the year. Putting intention into how you want your year to be. I am thinking about maybe in addition tuning into the different signs for the first 12 days. ie. dress or do some kind of Capricorn related ritual on Jan 1, Aquarius Jan 2, Honor Pisces on Jan 3., etc etc etc Also if anyone wants a good cry Bright Star about John Keats was a good tear wringer outer for me.… Read more »

Another question (not related to my Ceres q above)
Do Virgos and Scorpios notice things in the same way?
Thank you <3 pi

Jokerman
Jokerman

I think all the Yin energies notice things in their own idiom.
Virgo would notice things being different because their observations are almost like an audit. I was watching that film with the 2 Cruzes in it, “Vanilla Sky”, with about 8 ppl years ago. There is a scene where they recreated the album cover to the Dylan album, “The Freewheeling Bob Dylan”. I said that’s a Dylan ablum cover. Everyone said bs. So l stilled the dvd and got the album out and showed em.

Scorpio would instinctively know, in a flash, a ‘rapping your nails on a table’ way.

emgMM Member
emg

Oh absolutely. I can be watching the same movie as my Aqua and it’s as though we’ve been in a different theatre. Where I pick up nuance and psycho drama he picks up plot and storyline. I feel people he hears the lines. For me the subtlest thing can expose the grand scheme.

Virgonator
Virgonator

I agree, and I also find that there is a weird Virgo-Scorp connection. I don’t think it’s just a me-Scorp connection either, as I’ve heard similar from other Virgos and Scorpios. (Also I have Pluto in Scorpio but not one other planet or point in water in my chart so I doubt it’s me seeing in a particularly watery way). Often it feels like we are the only two signs in the room noticing this huge array of subtext. We see them; they see us, and we are making nuanced eye movements over the heads or right in front of… Read more »

I think Pisces and Cancer also pick up info in subliminal, covert fashion. Fish n crabs see the swimmer but the swimmer don’t see them. I have to know the lay of the land before l move.

Virgonator

Pisces people, especially, blow me away (I think they are more likely to share what they notice than crabs are, since you have to get in the shell first – but I’m sure it’s just as deep). They’ll say something that sounds completely irrelevant/left field and then turns out to be just, like, a dimension of thinking ahead of/inside of everyone else. It’s very humbling for this observant-but-not-watery Virgo.

Yeah, I have Crab Ascendant, and the full moon on New Year’s Day is right on my ascendant, by degree. Really in a spiral of sadness right now.

My family is really insensitive to me most of the time. I feel disregarded, like, I can just fit in around what they are and what they’re doing if I want to see them. There’s no effort my way or ever asking how I am doing or what I might want or need. I’m an after-thought, a low priority, and a second class citizen, if they think of me at all.

They are different but it is not their difference. It is actually something they share.

Your situation is not mine but a perspective from the other side (married, just, to a Cancer moon/venus): these disappearing acts are really confusing and frustrating. There is no way to engage with or even really trust someone who disappears when things get emotionally difficult. Is it possible that your family feels sad and frustrated too but cannot reach you to clear things up?

flowerchild
flowerchild

I didn’t disappear. I don’t know how you got ‘disappearing act’ out of what I wrote. Changing one’s mind in an effort towards self care and emotional safety is not the same as disappearing. I told my brother on the phone and over text exactly how I was feeling and how upset I was and why, and that I didn’t feel like I could come see them because of it. I told him directly that I wasn’t coming to visit. I’m very up front and a clear communicator about things, even if the end result is that I’m not going… Read more »

My brother is a Cap Sun, Scorpio Moon, exact conjunct Mars, in the 12th.
He has a Scorp stellium – Moon, Mars, Ascendant, Venus, Jupiter. Also Neptune in the 1st house, at like 0 or 1 degree Sag. He’s an intense guy and has a lot of anger, but doesn’t show it much. He’s always been patient with me and was last night, too, but the situation was such that I felt it was best that I didn’t visit.

I had an epiphany about my emotionally manipulative sister a few years ago, I realised the cold barbs followed by breadcrumbs of love were not good enough and not what I deserved. She would act like a bitch, then offer a small olive leaf so that I would look bad for not making up. I have to agree with your views on boundaries here. There seems to be some unspoken societal norm that says we’re supposed to put up with any kind of behaviour from family and if we refuse to accept it, it’s our fault not theirs.
Sometimes the only healthy thing to do is draw a boundary that involves extremely limited (or zero) contact. The other person isn’t going to be happy but in the end that’s too bad. After Pluto and Saturn through my huge 4th house I’ve learned this the very hard way.

emgMM Member
emg

Here here. It is the societal norms that we have to work against. Why should family have to behave a certain way. We need to stop with the shoulds and just recognise other humans standing there. Then you can forgive and move on so much more quickly and painlessly. These difficult family relationships create havoc and there is no need. Recognise our own hurts where we feel a should and see their hurts and see the shoulds. Then let it all go. All humans are fallible. And we all hurt. find the places where we feel nurtured an very often… Read more »

Thanks so much, Feathered Fish, this is a really good point about setting boundaries and being better off alone than disrespected. Two things that are usually stumbling blocks for me, but this time I put myself first and opted for self care instead of letting myself get thrown under the bus again. The dynamic you describe having with your sister is exactly what I have with my mother. I’ve been almost no-contact with her for years because of this. Wow. Better off without, seems to me. Maybe Mr mars in Scorpio needs to sort out *his* issues.

On further thought. Attacking you because he is afraid of rejection, and this fear appears to be coming true because you’re not matching his “lock it in” ideals (if he was feeling secure in himself he could just say yes I understand how you must feel, let’s take this slowly, or something reasonable) and he doesn’t know how to deal with that other than to cover the fear with anger,

Naw, that’s all totally it, Pi. I know the face he gets when he’s hurt and thinking I will reject him (and it really is sometimes for the weirdest reasons), it’s reptilian. Cold, pale, clammy. He had that face. That’s why I tried to go for the . “I’m sorry that hurt you, it was absolutely NOT my intent” angle–and not pay attention to the vitrol or invective. I really think Capricorn magic is so dang misunderstood. The saturnine sea goats are usually dragged for being cold hearted and ambitious to a fault. I contend that Sagittarius’ centaur shot the remaining zodiac signs out of earth’s realm, into the stars, to achieve different kinds of leveled up work. This time of year’s tradition of quiet reflection is the void. The beginning of all creation. Not the Aries beginning of full on blind life force, growing up and out into the sun, but the limitless beginnings of internal work, creation incubation. Ceres is about nurturing and caring. In Libra and (prob your 3rd House?) about communicating for the greater good. I think that is a thing with you. Is it in wide, or otherwise, opposition to your Merc in 9th Aries?

I have Ceres in 6th exact conj Venus / Dsc. I had never heard of Ceres until a consult from Mystic years ago and she told me about the placement. She observed that nutrition/food/exercise would likely have massive impact on my mental health and this has turned out to be true (I mean beyond the universal message that good habits help everyone). So as I understand it, Ceres is about nurturing and nourishing. Is Libra your 5th house, Pi? Any aspects? Opp your Venus or Merc, perhaps?

Urgh maybe ?
I prefer nourish to nurture, which is a word that creeps me out for some reason.

Ceres is actually “the godfather of business”. I would cut all ties completely but for my dad. I don’t want to cut ties with him. In the end, it’s not her drinking. It’s her bone-deep fuquing meanness… Read more »

Going to have saturn transiting my fourth house where my natal lillith, uranus, neptune and north node reside. Packed house/stellium.

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on what may happen or your own experiences of having saturn over 4th house. What should I pay attention to?

I am Virgo sun, Libra rising, Sagg moon.

I am libra rising and am feeling Saturn in Capricorn in big way already as it moved right in on my 4th house Neptune. I sure did have some family-of-origin illusions/delusions shattered over Christmas. It’s been rough to realize and i’ve been feeling powerless to help them. When I checked the ephemeris it looks like it’s basically going to be conjunct all 2018. I’m reading the book Daring Greatly by Brene Brown right now, which is amazingly synchronistic because it has a lot of inspiring wisdom on shame, vulnerability, disengagement, and leadership in the context of both work and family.… Read more »

I think Saturn in 4th is a bit like Saturn square moon (my current transit). I have Jupiter-Chiron at 5-6 degs on Pisces 4th IC opp Uranus (exact) and Pluto/Ceres in 10th square 1st house Sun. Also early Aries moon in last degs of 4th house Neptune in 4th is squaring my Sun and opposing pluto/ceres 10th right now. I went through Saturn in pisces 4th some 20 years ago now. I was definitely about feeling alienated from family and putting boundaries up against parental-me triangles and other family patterns that were toxic . Most of all (and I say… Read more »

Hi there if you are still reading VSLR – I had Saturn through my 4th house for the last three years – it’s a big house in my chart so here is a rundown of how mine played out. I started the transit post-divorce without a home or job and had to learn FAST to deal with a lot of things I had always avoided before, mostly to do with financial literacy. I made a series of pragmatic decisions that involved getting very clear about what was important and what wasn’t. I took a small but secure job and bought… Read more »

I love this question! Tooth fairy is an interesting study in the exchange value of the material leavings of the human body’s development out of infancy (childhood?) It’s the only bones we have that actually fall out of our body as we grow. Whoa. Actually it’s around age seven that we tend to lose our teeth isn’t it? First Saturn square. Wobbly teeth like Saturn encounters are also a bit scary and painful… And unavoidable! Maybe because the teeth become artefacts of our childhood and are not associated with (say) the fraught timeframe of puberty ( which might = Pluto?)… Read more »

According to R. Steiner the teeth are moving out as the child’s energy field as reflected by the body matures so this process shows the physical maturation of the entire system.
I think you aren’t meant to teach kids to read until they have lost some teeth.

Not sure i understand…is it wordplay or sarcasm? When i was prolific, i was experiencing years of abuse, but i didn’t write about it, well not often. It was more about moments of feeling and understanding connections of the crisscrossed world, how it all kept me alive by just being the interconnected world, a marvel or an irritant, the things i could see having their own life but seemingly ignored, and the sensory knowing of it in my bones and heart. Decades later i can look back on some things i have written and feel amazed to have been connected… Read more »

Tracy Marks has book called “Managing Your T-Squares”. It has been like my favourite Astro book. Electro knows this stuff well too; amongst others. I analogise it to stretching a piece of leather or vinyl over a foam cushioned board. To get a correct fit you staple all 4 Cardinal / Angle points first. If you only do 3 of the 4 points, the squared point, the Focal Planet (that I bang on so much about) will actually pull inordinately to that point creating stresses (wrinkles) to the points on the opposing axis; planets in this example. The un-stapled 4th… Read more »

as a veteran career-changer (ok uranus through 10th house), i can say with complete confidence that astrologers are made, not born. that means Kimmy, Mystic, Michael Lutin, Astrobarry, Eric Francis, Tracy Marks, all the astro.com writers, started somewhere. Why not build up a kind of ‘study-group’ of ppl / friends who you can practice astro readings on. Maybe see if you’d eventually feel comfortable charging a nominal fee if someone approaches you, think of it as an apprentice wage if that makes sense / feels right for you. So based on the focal point thing, if I have sun/mercury pisces… Read more »

First of all I am a good student of the Astro but still have a long way to go. I know being an Outre Planetoidian gives me a proclivity to this stuff but it is still away to go. I’m still learning stuff off you and many others on here. But, you know, with my Merc Uran conjunct on the cusp of the 2nd and Uran doing so much over my Aneretic Aries MC fr Aug ’17 to Jan ’19 it does indicate some potential. I still have a lot to learn on technical stuff. My multi Moon/Neptune stuff gives… Read more »

oh right. ptolemaic = basically the normal aspects? i probably should have just googled it hahaha yes its an exact t square, which both saturn and chiron were uh activating as per recent astro. I suppose 3rd house virgo is kind of like, “duh, writing, idiot.” (?maybe) plus a virgo eyeroll – perhaps i could manage this without the prickly virgo thing tho 3rd decan virgo suns are (were) among my faves, i used to fall for them, there’s a very chummy rapport – mercury – like a sketch comedy show – that’s all tho , but i just can’t… Read more »

I agree you need fire. I’ve been reading about why some ppl don’t do their Sun ….or it’s not obvious. I have an image of you being not very Pisces. And l spose us Water types not all is as first appears. My Sun / Uran in 1st makes ppl think I’m Aqua. Anyways that 3rd / Virgo is very Mercurial. Random but still on topic – I don’t really know Cara and I had a quick look at her images and went Leo…. and yes, she is. Well, generally I don’t think it all fits that nicely and generally I know it’s rare for me to nail a sun sign in less than a second.

Got the Marcus Aurelius paperback early in the year so i could carry it on the bus, but quarter of the way through i read back to the foreword and realised he was an opium addict. It coloured my view of what i was reading, how the words never gave a window onto that, and it all just seemed a kind of compensatory self-flagellation, or something. I mean, this doesn’t diminish his wisdom, but it changes its significance for a 12th house person, because my Sagittarius wants to see that acknowledged properly and integrated into the words of wisdom. Mind… Read more »

PiMM Member
Pi

And yes. If the author doesn’t live by the words I find it takes some mental gymnastics to want to bother to read further. Depends on stuff though. Mind you, I get a bit eyebrow-raise-y about excessively virtuous lifestyle representations , too. There’s a zone of balance in there somewhere ..

milleunanotteMM Member
milleunanotte

I’m super sure he lived by his words!

I just find i’m less crystal-balanced, more extreme and prismatic (trying not use neg words about self 🙂 ) So i cannot start from the type of personal base he does. Thus the whole personality displayed becomes aspirational: i’m sure you understand how a Piscean can try to shapeshift their personality, because it can feel like the one you have isn’t good enough. My aim is to accept my nature first and work from there in my inspirations. Ha! Let you know when THAT happens 🙂

Maye Musk is my new muse! <3 Thanks for that link.

Also re: stoicism being the only approach to Saturn in Capricorn – no. A la Maye Musk, determination and pure grit backed by clear intention win. Duck those mountain goat antlers down and climb, rock by rock, and never stop until you reach the top.

Question: what will Saturn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn look/feel like?? Also with Uranus in Taurus?? More push/pull jostling for supremacy between the conservatives and progressives? It's going to get interesting, that's for sure.

I am buying an old fashioned plain budget book. I tried the computer programs but I have not stuck to anything fancy. I have also increased my FSA and 401k deductions for next year. It’s going to be tough but my spending had gotten out of control with my eating habits. I think this year will be great but painful as I curb bad habits.

kriblackMM Member

I can relate, my eating habits have wreaked havoc on my health and my budget. New regimes for eating and budgeting are my only priority now. Great and painful sums it up well. Best of luck!

Same. Eating habits totally out of whack this year. Just beginning to settle it down again but need to the full Capricorn and stick to 500 calories. I’m sooo well when I pretty much fast!

JacquelineMM Member

‘re eating habits … Mystic made casual reference a while back, to Bright Line Eating.

It’s been my metamorphosis. I eat with Libra Sun sumptuousness and have returned to my previous sleek form without deprivation.

It feels like a Saturn-approved foundation that allows me to shift my attention to something other than dieting.

AquariusNoMore?MM Member
AquariusNoMore?

I have t check this out. Is it hard?

JacquelineMM Member
Jacqueline

Not hard, in that there’s practically no deprivation, but you have to weigh everything, which can be tedious at first.

But once you see the scale numbers plummeting AND you’re eating more than you ever believed possible on a ‘diet’, the Bright Lines feel like structure, rather than confinement.

Ditto. Was trying to figure out the other day how I would fund some good health measures on reduced income and bam, there it is, so much spent on crap food and coffee at work every day, plus junk food emo binges at night – it adds up to a big chunk each month.
Would you be happy to share what kind of budget book you bought? I can’t figure out spreadsheets or apps either – I like pen and paper (blame Mars in Virgo!).

I published the Home Budget book from Amazon. It is literally $8 before shipping and handling. I had looked at Th Happy Bdget Planners at Target but they are more frilly with stickers and bright colors and around $25. My cheapie should arrive in the next 3 days.

I, too, use pen and paper for real-time tracking of my SELF, and this includes my working self, as in what i did and lists of what i have to do. The few years before, i electronicised, but still had a paper diary that i thought would be emptier for my thoughts, inspo and astro. Comparing with diary of year before, i noticed i was actually moving between so many things that did not allow me downtime enough to really focus on the personal, that i eventually just tracked my real self through paper. I recall it better too when… Read more »

For sticking to my diet, I have recently made a deal with a friend that if I don’t stick to my diet, it’s a £10 fine to be paid to charity – what makes it harder is that i I have to pay it to a charity I absolutely dislike because of some malpractices etc. So i really feel the pinch. Yesterday was the point at which I would have broken my diet had I only been relying on my sheer will. So success! If I paid a fine for a week that’s £70 – i can buy good quality… Read more »

But not for a diet, sorry, i didn’t realise this was a thread for eating habits. I don’t diet. I eat well, cook well and don’t buy what i can make better myself.

But this is not to say i cannot look after my physical health in other ways some take as a given in their everyday, going by what i have often read here! Each in our own way, and to your health, VLSR 🙂

Me too! It was havoc on my body with how I was eating. Plus I had the money so I spent it. Started juicing yesterday. Kind of a detox from all of the crap I ate. The first 2 weeks in December was worst as I got home and found pimples on my face. Pimples I haven’t see since I was in my 20’s. Definitely detoxing… I use an excel spreadsheet, as Mystics Oracle always highlights when I ask. I do like it. It’s obsessive but I can see what is happening each day.
