Beauty Moons

Filed in Moons, Astro-Beauty

Hi Mystic,

I have well memorized that Leo Moons are great for hair and Taurus for massage but I’d love if you can do a post on all things beauty by the Moon (or refer me to it if you have already done this)

For instance things like best Moons for

– hair cuts

– hair coloring

– hair removal

– manicures / pedicures

– facials

I’ve looked around on line and there is lots of conflicting info on signs and waxing / waning phases. Please, set me straight Mystic!!

Yours faithfully,

The Gemini Social Butterfly

Dear Gemini Social Butterfly,

YES!  Genius concept.

Okay so ye olde hair rules – presumably from a time before lasers – suggest cutting or removing hair during the waxing Moon (from New to Full) if your ultimate goal is to encourage growth and during the Waning Moon (Full to New) if vice versa. There is also an old theory that you begin reducing regimes (diets) right after the Full Moon.

Moon in Leo is the hair Moon, Moon in Gemini for manicures (Gemini rules hands in classic astrology – think of the elegant Gemini gesticulation as they make their airy, mercurial conversational points) and Moon in Pisces for foot treatments.  Moon in Libra – Venus Ruled – for facial treatments i would think.

Fashion is more the domain of Venus and you need her in good alignment – a harsh angle to Saturn and you end up having an existential crisis in some department store, overwhelmed by the consumer vibe and feeling every one of your body insecurities. Venus-Jupiter works brilliantly except of course that your expectations can be way out of whack with your budget or lifestyle.

For genius insights that feel revolutionary and like a paradigm leap – that you can apply to anything – use the Lunar Portals that are on the Scheduler. If you leave some time around those to access your intuition or note the omens, you will benefit.

And of course, my ultimate rule, don’t go shopping on the Dark Moon. Those final few lunar tide out days before the New Moon can prompt the most deranged purchases.  On the Dark Moon, you deduct – subtract clutter, remove expired everything, simplify your wardrobe or skincare regime – and that is what feels the most enriching.

What does everyone else think?

So a back sack and crack wax on the full moon might not be such a good idea ? Hmmm.. I’ll wait till Chiron gets off my galactic centre, thanks x

That’s probably the most amusing thing I’ve heard all week!

It’s Pride Parade tomorrow in my neck of the woods so you wouldn’t be able to get in to the salon anyway.

(Do hope even an Aries would not plan to do the area by themselves.)

This post is pure gold.
I already abide by the New to Full & Waning Moon rules but it’s great to have it all the Moon tips in the same post.
I think one should also watch when Venus is transiting in one own’s First House / Rising too.
