Saturn In Sagittarius: Closing the Authenticity Gap Since Late 2014

Filed in Saturn

This years Xmas Gift is going to be Saturn into his home constellation of Capricorn!  Not to freak you out but there are actually only 22 more weeks of Saturn in Sagittarius!

So the Time God has been in Sagittarius – sign of the Quest, realm of the Sage, the Archer, the Centaur and the Pan/Dionysus/Pandora/Diana end of the Pagan spectrum – since late 2014.

We are going to ignore the few months in 2015 where it backed in to Scorpio and just assess December 2014 until now as a continuum. I have not loved some aspects of this phase – Saturn has squared a whole bunch of my Pisces-Virgo energies but looked on as a whole, this era has equated with a gradual stripping off of veils, lies and delusions.

Without wanting to sound like an abject wanker, i think it has inspired me to be more principled…not in a high-morals sense but by clarifying what my principles are, I’ve been more able to form an emotional connection with them. Saturn in Sagittarius is also a reminder of the gravitas and stability to be gained by being yourself, sans pretense.

By the time Saturn aligns with rad planet Uranus, in November, there will be some sort rad result able to be leveraged from all this veil-stripping and truth mining.

In what way have you closed your own personal Authenticity Gap, refined your philosophy, gotten more aligned with Inner Truth and stopped bullshitting?

Saturn is in my 6th house. My Mars and Venus are there too, and Saturn will go over them once it’s in Capricorn. Yeah, I’ve been thinking a lot more in terms of health. No more processed foods. I’m on the Paleo diet with the exception of a bit of dairy for the calcium, and my body’s been adjusting to it. Really dramatic change, as Scorpios are prone to do because I wasn’t paying any attention to my diet before. Now I only drink my coffee black, have at least one gallon of water per day, and consume mainly leafy… Read more »

This has been a loud transit for me, a Sag Moon Neptune conjunct and Multi Gem. My 2nd/8th house axis is the heaviest. Seems appropriate that I’m about to turn 40 during all this. Saturn on my Moon was huge, it was a lesson in how Neptune shapes me and how I need to protect and nurture myself. Healthy boundaries first, and then figuring out how to approach people who are looking to me to get their needs met and not giving away myself. It’s a delicate balance with a Moon Neptune conjunction. The past year or so has been… Read more »

Thanks Mystic for this timely post. You get caught up in the busy everyday of things and forget to see what youve come through and where you really are in the present. Time to journal on this

Woke up feeling distraught I am not working at the moment, then confused, then realised that serving Spirit as we all do on some level also means I don’t really benefit from getting antsy about doing or not doing on an ego level. Checked my transits (first time in a while) and wups! Chiron ON my MC. Haha. Yeah, I am taking it personally. 😉

Oh and Saturn a few degrees off my NN.. arghhhhh. Just ARGGGHHHHHH.

Sorry to hear you were feeling distraught, sphinx! 🙁

I wanted you to know that the way you expressed and worded this helped me, so thank you! I am also not working at the moment and sometimes wake in the morning with a panic attack about it. Your perspective here soothed the part of me that panics, even though there are some very real survival level issues that are there for me because of not working right now.

Oh thanks dear flowerchild!
That is strangely sweet and comforting to me that you feel in any way soothed. I hope you find your groove soon.

I was lucky enough to get a Phoenix from MM and I learned that I have some transformation work to do first which is ok.

A couple of weeks ago I posted on here saying, “Wait, wait, what if we haven’t done everything we have to do yet and Saturn’s about to go?” BOOM. A wonderful (young) man who was right hand in my business, someone who supported me unconditionally and authentically–and vice versa—was killed in a horrific car crash. He was like kin to me and acted as my personal operating system for years. A fixer. And yes – he was one of the kindest, multi-talented and deeply true people I’ve ever known. Immediately I knew: he can’t be replaced. The business has to… Read more »

So Saturn has been up to then backed off my MC at the Galactic Centre and I await him arriving then moving on past this point. It’s been a time of get real in all my spiritual thinking. I have a feeling I have gotten it all in the cerebral sense but was not able to live in it and frankly I had been losing my ability to believe what I even had considered my modus operandi and to even exist with it anymore. My glorious Pisces asc was letting me down and I was frankly spiralling out of spirit… Read more »

Compared to Saturn in Scorpio, which played off all the Taurus in my chart, totally transforming my life through deprivation and suffering For the better mind you , Saturn in sag has been great. Basically as soon as it hit, I developed a burning desire to study, and that is what I’ve been doing ever since. Studying a degree, online, with children, partner and work has not been without its struggles for sure, but I have loved it. My life has expanded under this transit in every way. I have a Capricorn midheaven, so methinks that my career is just… Read more »

Aligning with inner truth and stopping bullshitting around my health. Saturn has been touring my 6th house and I’m actively addressing all aspects of my health squarely, and seriously since this transit and it feels GREAT! Finally addressing in a very real way my physical (chronic pain) and emotional health issues that have dogged my life for ages, some even from the beginning of my life. For my mental/emotional health I’ve been enjoying the podcasts of Richard Grannon, the ‘Spartan Life Coach’ — how Saturnine this moniker! He really nails it on dealing with CPTSD and the effects of narcissistic… Read more »

p.s. All of this I suppose could be summed up by the words: SELF-CARE I’ve finally learned to do self-care and even have it be an automatic default setting, which is a huge advancement because it’s the very thing I used to either blow off or not even be aware that I needed. And I don’t mean self-care as an optional luxury, pampering light breezy thing. I mean it in the Saturn way, the Saturn touring your 6th house way where it says, Girl, you had BETTER take care of YOU, and put yourself and your mental/emotional/physical health as a… Read more »

Saturn’s movin’ on top of my Jupiter in oh, 5 degrees from today. I’m skeered. If it’s gonna smack all the Cardinal signs, I’ve first got my Pluto Rising in Libra, then I got a Moon/Uranus/Lillith conj. in Libra…my Chiron and Mars in Aries, MC in Cancer. Fun fun fun. Weirdly, I think I may have *worked* this Saturn transit (which was all opposite my and, now, just typing that, I feel like I might cry that I actually did it instead of fucking it up. Oh my gosh, so crazy the end of this phase in sight. This was my first Saturn return – in my 2nd and 3rd house and just this morning was journaling about all of the amazingly solid and authentic structure I’ve built into all aspect of my life in this phase – starting with career delusions, stripping away all kinds of societal programming, going fulll on with minimalism, and rediscovering my creative life. Existential crises sorted thru practicality in my physical reality. And I am writing my first book right now (well, as an adult)!!! It’s been a long, disciplined… Read more »

Wow, So I have Saturn in my first house , 14.36 degrees, as well as Eros in my first house 18.13, and the change has been phenomenal, but difficult at times. Since 2014, I’ve gotten rid or transformed the abusive relationships I was in (as in let go of the guilt/sadness I felt about being divorced, broke up with an apathetic boyfriend, stopped entangling myself in my birth family’s dysfunction, and set up boundaries with the Qi vampire people in my family), changed jobs (so my workplace went from being working for a boss I honestly feared to one I… Read more »

Oh gosh this has been huge. And I relate to a lot of the themes others have mentioned. Started this transit with a major breakup. First long term relationship ended- he pulled the plug but by then it was mutual. Rose coloured glasses shattered. Saw him as the narcissistic bully he was. Didn’t make the break easier but also decided to jump on the authenticity train and finally do what I truly wanted. Cue starting and completing my psychotherapy post grad to try to better align, and work with, my spirituality more tangibly. Talk about a journey! Helped immensely in… Read more »

First of all @mystic: thanks for this post. After a very long transit is always good to focus on what the planet is supposed to bring and try to “crystalize” the results. Since Saturn is not an easy one (plus for me was / is opposing all my Gemini and Virgoan planets) I have to see it as a positive passage that will leeve me with something that will last. Sat in Saggo has been mostly in my 4th house (starts at 3° in Saggo, conjunct my Natal Neptune). To me this has meant focusing on health via food, finish… Read more »

I feel you so hard on the Saturn opposing natal sun – mine was at the end of 2016/early 2017 and is now going to sit right on my sun until end of November (I’m Gemini sun at 23 degrees). I just finished my Saturn return in late 2015/early 2016 – break up of relationship that was perfect on paper but was totally soul sucking. This transit has been so lonely for me at times as well – I hope you have some awesome opportunities for romance at the eclipses and beyond! Any tips on surviving a Saturn/natal planet opposition?… Read more »

what houses is the opposition taking place in? you can find clues there. you’ll also have jupiter trine sun for a week or two towards end of year, from Libra, and remember uranus sextile your sun is still working a bit longer. also, north node sextile sun too, from Leo. ok so wow, in the coming few months you have some really good, positive impetus from Jupiter, the moon’s node, and uranus. Also, you’re now free of a really crappy soul sucking relationship, woohoo! maybe use this phase to chill, consolidate, catch up on some reading (what gemini doesn’t have… Read more »

Thank you so much! The relationship stuff shook out really well – I didn’t mention that I’m now in an awesome relationship with a Libra man. 🙂 I think I integrated the 7th house lessons really well – my new bf is everything I knew I wanted but never actually went for. Dear D I feel like I am writing to myself since we share the same first letter of the name. You should focus on the house that Saturn is transiting now. That’s what I did. Also: Saturn opposition are only hard if you have ignored the squares lesson some 10 years ago. If you haven’t, Saturn opposition can be moment of confirmation of what you have done so far. To me it wasn’t that bad at all. The loneliness thing is more of an effect of Saturn in my 4th rather then Sat opposing my Gemini planets (MC, Saturn, Sun… Read more »

Thank you Jupiter in the 5th (and in his sign)! Saturn sitting on Saturn in 2nd – found out my identity was hacked- but will remain in 2nd until it’s out of Cap-

Melt down/lash out wrestling with IT. Pluto to Sun and Uranus to Moon plus Sun Spots — still sick over it. Can’t BS brush it under the rug. At least my cats still love me.

I still have one more pass over the last string of my planets, including my Sun, so it’s far from over but psychic awakening, forging an authentic career path with tarot and poetry, up-levelling my monogamous relationship into a poly one (and surviving all that came with it!) would be a good start. Continuing to work out where all the elements of my creativity fit.

Seriously–I get a bit of a reprieve in the sense that nothing is actually IN Cap (except my IC) but next up is a stellium with my Sun/Merc/NN/Sappho/Persephone in Aqua. WTF.

Maybe it will help us to think of Saturn as a young, beautiful Jimmy Page? (remember his little bit in the Song Remains the Same with The Hermit?)

Saturn just heading out of my 7th and into 8th house, where Pluto is still Pluto-ing but in the Capricorn bit. I guess now that I’ve finished my study (and accidentally started another very topical and work related one in the dying days of Saturn in sag) and moved jobs twice, I’m ready for the new job in two weeks…. where is this going?!

Thanks for the reminder to book the dental checkup. Will get onto that.

Not going to answer this until Saturn completes the square to my sun mercury, and moves off my descendant and then Eros just before moving into Capricorn. Ha ha ha. This is all taking place with a trine to my Aries Venus and favourable aspects to my lunar node/s. The Capricorn in me has always ensured Saturn vision, so strangely enough this transit thru my 6 th house has actually felt like radical chaos at the mundane level (mundane in the proper sense of the word I.e. worldly/quotidien, not ‘boring’). There’s something great about really realising I chose all of it. All.of.it. that I did the whole mess. That regardless of the players a tiny Ellen has been making terrible decisions that belong only to me. That when I got the word “consequence” tattooed on my arm at 18 I knew I’d live into it. My first Saturn return – in my seventh house. Predictably (and productively) got divorced. Finished my degree. Started another I’ll finish just as Saturn leaves the sign. Officially pledged to my spiritual path (accidentally the day of my exact return). Still need to see the dentist, though. We had to describe each other’s leadership styles the other day in class and people described me as emotionally authentic, always ready to drop the BS and be real. Oooh well Saturn transiting my Fifth house and thus conjunct my natal Neptune (in Sagg) has equalled a massive ripping off of not only my ‘LZ’ glasses but my rose tinted glasses (actually a total stripping off of a fuqing burqa like weighted veil) about life in general that’s for sure!! Astro triplet, Saturn also in 5th bang on natal Neptune since Dec 2016 and it has been a fast and furious destruction of old personas, beliefs, hopes and fears. Dabrowski calls it positive disintegration, and I think it’s a very apt description for Saturn transformations. I’m a bit slower off the mark from you, but likewise, the feeling-knowing is there, am on the right path now, so even knowing that I’m just on the beginning steps no longer feels worrying (in that frustration-desperation sort of way), there is a contentedness and a patience and trust in the unfoldment of the… Read more »

Went through a thesis-writing block that became a depressive episode in late 2014; fell in and out of love with a mega-Sagittarius in 2015; finished and defended my thesis and graduated with honours in 2016; cycled in and out of short-lived hookups (also in 2016); ignited a creative practice of improvisational singing and sound meditation; also returned to my faith/spirituality, a weird and homey mix of Jesuit contemplative prayer and New Age yogic vibing with the cosmos… At the moment: steely-single, sparring with a book manuscript, preparing for a big move for a new job, and getting real with how… Read more »

Well, let’s see, my partner of 20 years, a Saggo, decided to leave me, alienate my kids from me through heavy gas lighting, and block and obstruct and drag out our divorce proceedings for the three years (angry at me for getting a solicitor who called him on his narcissistic desire to have everything his way), so all the scales have indeed fallen from my eyes and I truly hope this era is moving on as my heart and head can’t take anymore of this brutal honesty.

Much love to you. I’m also experiencing alienation with my child. He is 12 and lives with his father who is a narc. My son has chosen not to see me. Saturn is nearly done with my 7th house (Sag) thank *god*. Neptune at 15 degrees in there so while i’ve lost a large swath of people i used to consider friends (and colleagues), I’m glad as they were mostly garbage people anyway and I’d rather be alone in a cave than stuck having a surface conversation with them just to appease their sensibilities. What’s also interesting is that AS all the fuqwits have gone, better, more excellent and awesome people (mostly women) have arrived and taken their place. So. No loss, really. Mostly gain.
