Who is Hecate? She is Queen of the Witches and protector of outsiders. Like Saturn, she becomes stronger with time. You meet her at crossroads, both literally and metaphorically.
Hecate (Hekate is also correct), is the guardian of ghosts and secret paths. She mentored Persephone in the Underworld and guides people, particularly women, passing through shadowy terrain. Like Lilith, she is a solitary goddess, not defined by relationships or her status within society. She cultivates magical powers and connects with multiple realms.
One of her symbols is the keys. Strange doings with keys and locks can be an omen from Hecate. When you’re hesitant to move forward but cannot move back, sometimes a door appears. It’s the underworldly wisdom of Hecate that holds the key to you opening it. She is also linked to moonlight, wolves, dogs, and ravens. She is the intuition that you cultivate and make stronger over many years. People say she is a necromancer, which sounds dramatic, like zombie movies where they raise the dead to ask them questions. But it just means that if your Hecate energy is strong, you know the veils between the dimensions are flimsy at times.
Sometimes, on certain winds, you smell someone’s fragrance or hear their laugh. You know they’ve gone from this realm but that they’re somewhere.
Astrologically, she is asteroid number 100, and you can discover her influence in your birth chart via my Sorceress report.
Who is Hecate? She is light in the darkness. Her time of the month is the Dark Moon.
