Is Saturn In Leo Bad Hair Karma?

Is Saturn in Leo Bad Hair Karma? Mystic advises someone who fears that it dooms her to dysfunctional hair and poor relationships with hairdressers.

Dear Mystic.

It occurred to me that being the Venusian type and/or with a fairly Venusian subscriber squad, you might be able to offer some sage advice.

Does natal Saturn in Leo mean I will forever not be able to form a good relationship with hairdressers? Or at least it will always be an Effort? I’ve always taken that placement at a much more (blah) existential level but maybe Hair As Superficial But Constant Thing is also in the mix.

I sometimes find the Golden Mean of hairdressers and then after just a few appointments suddenly it all turns to crap and I walk out with Soccer Mum hair. The upmarket places are the WORST for this. Or some kind of copper shade (NO) when I wanted blonde. I don’t understand. I think I’m being clear in what I want. Is it the Pisces in me? Too easy going?

It’s got to a point where I just can’t even deal with yet again going in to say ‘hi um this is wrong can u pls fix’. Does the Leo squad frequenting MM know anything? I’m low maintenance at best – I leave my hair alone, it leaves me alone. My hair looks best weeks or months after the cut. Wild and free, etc. I wish it didn’t then turn into “Street Witches of the Gutter Vol. IX” shortly after that. Do I need to take the Sadge, Virgo rising, Mercury in Scorpio friend with me as Enforcer-Translator? Help pls?

Love Pi

Dear Pi,

I would like to see anything in the Street Witches Of The Gutter series.  My idea for a guerilla television series is called Vibe Police and it’s where people are asked to extrapolate on who they think other people spotted in the street are and what they are doing – no filter, no barriers. And then the people themselves are interviewed to see if any of it is accurate. The Vibe Police can go off fashion, vibe, the phase of the Moon that day – all cues taken and utilized.

Saturn in Leo does not create this bad hair karma situation. But it is perfectly likely that, at the energetic level, you somehow conflate your hair communication – possibly clothes also – with Saturnine issues like status, father irks, bureaucracy, etc. And you care more about the outcome.

As this happens to nigh everyone i have known, i think you need to just be insanely clear about what you want. Ensure you have a consultation before anyone makes a move. If you’re too nonchalant and trying to be “nice,” they may assume that you really don’t mind emerging with something completely different from that which you envisaged,

There is a huge churn rate with hairdressers because of this sort of thing: once you’re a regular, people can nod off a bit. Or, because you’re not wanting anything “creative”, you’re boring to someone dreaming of Fashion Week extravaganzas. They want to play with the lilac locks of Space Dust Shamans while networking with edge film-makers. Never mind that classic looks that make hair look healthy and flattering are cornerstone revenue.

So take this as a Saturn in Leo challenge. March in there and say you want a 15-minute scalp massage and to emerge looking like an Alien Witch. Or, even better, be specific. Work out precisely what it would take to get the look you want and be descriptive. Vow now not to give a fuq if they think you’re “difficult.”

BY THE WAY
I think Vibe Police is a freaking great /fun idea. Maybe you could do a pilot, Mystic. recruit a friend with camera skills and someone with a documentary background (something, whatever, or not) to get the structure loosely in place with you.
But if you had some people with extra special skills on board, you might want to be careful that they didn’t ping actual Issues with the subjects of the analysis.

Aww I feel sad about the bad hairdressing experience stories in here!! In my early 20s I had a bunch of different styles and while I would never rock any of them again it was fun to experiment. My only true nightmares were where I tried to do it myself. Haven’t touched my own hair in at least 8 years. For the last 5 years I’m really boring and just bring in a photograph of me as a kid and say “do that”. I had a gorgeous blonde shade before it faded to dirty blonde in the teen years. you guys are all amazing… i have learnt a lot, including new and better ways to collaborate with a hairdresser, how and to feel less awkward doing that… how to get a feel for the right place, low-cost DIY, routines and timing… from the Leos-with-the-best-gear (amazing) to the low maintenance cohort (I feel less alone) and everyone who has had slightly soul-crushing salon experiences (my sympathies)… and those who haven’t..

PS Do try and stop coloring…go natural and as maintenance free as possible. The only safe colors are the ones you can get in the health food store and do yourself. I have used them to go blonde over my grey. but now love my white hair…isn’t natural always best?

I have been cutting my own hair for 40 years…and after a few hits and misses can just about do it with my eyes closed. No one besides yourself knows how you want your hair to look and what feels comfortable. So take your power back and learn how to do it yourself. The other tip is to use some virgin pressed coconut oil after washing while hair is still damp…it will end the mop frizzies…not too much…depending on length of hair…also need to test to see how much is too much or too little.

I’ve had tons and tons of hair disasters over the years from various hairdressers. I’m not sure what my astro signature for that would be. I also have a lot of Pisces in my chart and have not always been assertive, but I’ve always been really clear about what I want. I have Leo through the second house, too, no planets there but my Aqua Sun opposes from the 8th house. Anyway……sometimes you even show them a pic and they STILL don’t do it right, so I don’t know what the answer is……. I’m a hair obsesser, though, admittedly. Don’t… Read more »

Because there are awesome hairdressers out there as we know, is it better that a client arrange an extra 10 minutes at the start of the booking to actually do a technical analysis of the photos brought in? Or have a pre-problem chat about “ok what is the process to fix any mistakes if it’s not what I had in mind”… Then there is time to actually hear “This can’t work on your hair, it is too blunt and you have hair like xyz, I can do this but not this, …have you considered x…” I mean are hairdressers expected… Read more »

Oh Pi sweetie I laughed and empathised at the same time 🙂 it is beyond frustrating not being able to find the right stylist who gets you. Let me add my Leo rising’s tuppence worth here – I could write reams about hair and indeed have done in this very forum lol so will try to keep it brief. It’s totally common and routine here to ask for a consultation with a hairdresser first, as a separate appointment, to talk about what you want for cut and/or color. Especially if it’s someone you haven’t worked with before.

flowerchild
flowerchild

p.s. I always think I’m being demanding, but my hairdresser says I’m not at all, and because I’ve gotten to know her over the years, she tells me about some clients she has that are TRULY demanding. So, they’re used to people asking for what they want, comes with the territory for them, and I’m sure, if you are concerned about coming off as demanding, that your ability to have concern pretty much insures that you are not a demanding person. Genuinely demanding people don’t think they are because they are entitled and don’t give a f**k.

I’ve never had a haircut I liked and I started cutting my own hair about 10 years ago. I was terrified at the beginning and just snipped here and there and now I take inches off with confidence. My hair is thick and surf wild and hairdressers always want to thin it out and I want it straightened – none of it works well or for long, it’s just quick fixes. Hahaha – love your letter/question, Pi, and i so relate to what you say re hairdressers, so i’m not sure it’s a Saturn thing. I have a large Leo cluster (including Venus) – so my hair pretty much tries to dominate my appearance. It’s rebellious & moody & can swing from Afro-esque or furious frizz to wanton-wavy or even a smooth silken-like curtain – depending on the atmospheric humidity level. funny how I was remembering of THIS comment before going to sleep last night and had myself such a terrible nightmare as well where I was being kidnapped :'(((( meanings??? -> prefer to look at it as a break free, as in the end I got to escape from the dreadly hell where I was (am) at! Always seek the positive reason behind it!
