Chelsea Manning’s Epic Saturn Return

Who says Saturn Return can’t be amazing? Intense and hardcore granite-like shifting of energy or scoring of stability but good?  Just before he vacated the White House, the then President Obama commuted the sentence of former solider Chelsea Manning.  Manning has already served seven years of a 35 year sentence for releasing an unprecedented number of hush-hush military-industrial documents to Wikileaks and will now be free in May.

She has the ultimate astrology for a whistle-blower: Moon, Mars and Pluto conjunct in secretive Scorpio. If there is a more perfect alignment for muck raking, I have not seen it yet. And then Mercury, Saturn, Sun + Uranus in Sagittarius. The Mercury-Saturn conjunction is exact – principled and wants to tell the truth, at any cost. The commutation does not imply a pardon and there is a strong anti-Manning argument in that peoples lives were put at risk by the exposure of sensitive info.  But it says that justice has already been served, and as a transgender person, (previously Bradley) Manning’s incarceration in a military prison was even more stressful than the usual adversity.

The announcement of her sentence being commuted comes with Manning’s Saturn Return exact – the actual liberation (assuming nothing weird goes down via the new administration) will be in May, Saturn on her Sun and Uranus trine.   One way or another Uranus anything usually liberates you and most likely not how you were expecting. But Saturn is still Saturn. With this freedom comes responsibility and work. How will Manning use her emancipation? Thoughts?

So Chelsea is only 28 yo?
NOt 56?

I’m still wondering how to get into the deep web while wearing my Guy Fawkes mask to show seriousity.
Had no understanding of I Robot. Think ‘the boy’ has a goiter problem with his Thyroid.Or he is an evoliution of what we will come to look like after hours of screen time, like the people who developed square ears from i pods. Or something like that.

He was a she and so i said ‘hey babe want to walk on the wildside’ Or something like that.

Im struck by the graceful series of gestures Obama has made recently. At the precise moment when comfortable cynicism and blaming others has become a first world epidemic characterised by a convenient retreat from any responsibility to think, to act, interact and especially to challenge ourselves because our bespoke, tracked web media “newsfeed” now feeds us what we habitually buy and buy into rather than risk losing us by confronting us with information that might challenge us lest we click to a different page and our social media feeds surround us with simplified sound bites which sooth us because of… Read more »

Cheech ( a pet name for Francisco/Francesca) only read the first lines about Obama. Grace & Graciousness manifest on legs. This is a good time to be in The Commonwealth if it still is that. Anywhere but USof A. Skimmed the rest and can only say our control ends at our fingertips and toes and for some even that is doubtful. The expression ‘acquired helplessness’ comes to mind in looking global affairs. I see a retrogression back into tribes. ‘Let’s make America Great Again’. Here close to the south pole is WHY? Seems an over the top patriotism to me. I’m… Read more »

Fanx Peggity Pegs Common right but dunno about wealth bit:) We’re just as dumb and dumber with our silly Brexit island “them bloody foreigners” mentality. We just have more traditional PR and make it all about what Kate wore and tea and scones ma’am but we’re just as fearful and apathetic. It is less obvious and dramatic and less entertaining than the wild discrepancies between Mo & B Obama and Trumpet with his trophy doll. I loved Pussy Riot’s video satire and only just found out that they released it BEFORE the election which makes it even more impressive. I… Read more »

I’d say, based on today’s performance, she came with her A Game face. You could tell she was pumped. Her motto, “Go hard or go home” was evident from the get-go. And uptil the first 5mins of the 2nd quarter she was cutting with her usual pizzaz. But slowly some meandering crept into her game. And as the 1/2- time break loomed it appeared and an early brexit was on the cards. After the break the same malaise was evident but something told me a champion could stay in the game even looking a bit lost and yet still prevail.… Read more »

Manning’s situation has always pained me deeply. Somehow I am comforted knowing she has such a powerhouse Moon, Mars, Pluto.
No one should be treated like she was. Why be surprised an honourable person calls out casual murder? And so young. Like a child whistleblower pointing out the Emporer has no clothes.
Uranus trine is inspiring sounding I will look out for this aspect with more clarity.
In the meantime I hope Saturn can guide Manning with great gentleness hereon in.

Yes, but he’s a really intelligent rebellious person who brought us Wikileaks, now I feel he’s sucking up to Trump and other immoral power mongers — why?
Obvs being trapped in that embassy would unhinge anyone a bit…
I feel like he’s lost his way — wondering what’s happening with his astro

Mars in Aqua 3H /Uran in Lib 11th + Sagg Asc needs freedom. He aint going to get it in a dark dank London room. His synapsi would be running haywire.

Scorp 12th inc Moon and Sun in 8th loves a good muckrake. He’d be stifled there as well.

Beautiful analysis, Mystic, thank you. It’s going to be a hard road ahead for all of us; her Saturnine steel and conviction will be a guide. Courage.

What was the reasoning for cutting a sentence such as that? I wonder

GemyogiMM Member

Apparently she was sentenced to a much longer sentence that other whistle blowers.

I suspect many would use the word traitor rather than whistle blower to describe Manning.

I would use the term hero. He exposed wrong doing.

Yes, there are many who hold adherence to rules above deeper ethics. I believe they just took over the entire US government. Doesn’t mean we have to listen to or respect that opinion.

True, many who believe the government can do no wrong, and who swallow all the Big Brother patriarchal power base propaganda.

I applaud Manning, we need more brave souls like her.

That signature really is one of a whistle blower.
In my country a civilian collaborator of the secret service has defected and spilling the beans about what is really going on behind the secrecy facade.
He is Scorpio Sun, Venus and Uranus, all conjunct, with Mars in Sag, Moon in Pisces and again the Mercury – Saturn combo but this time in a tight square.

Cris
Cris

His Mercury is in Sag as well.

Very happy for her but disappointed that having a dishonorable discharge will take away her medical benefits to get treatment for her dysphoria. Hopefully get star status will get her the $ she needs.

And wow I know so many MTFs that have that sag sun/Scorpio moon signature. I even dated one for a long time.

So glad to see your post on this: the best news to come during the week week here in the US. Love the Saturn/Uranus analysis. I have overall been having a pretty rad and hard won Saturn return, laying a really good foundation and inching forward on my dreams in a sustainable way — with most of the pain and friction coming from my pre-Saturn return lover who is a few years younger than me; my absolute match in some ways but not in a place of moderation and steadiness in other ways despite his best intentions to support me… Read more »

Yes, people’s lives were at risk but no one died as a result. She was given 35 years for embarrassing the wrong people. The interesting back story is that Assange is a part of this pardon. He now says he feels safe to travel to the US. His leaking of the Clinton emails was to the great benefit of Trump who has stated publicly his support of Assange. There is more to this story and I have a feeling Assange cut a deal that included the release of Manning.

kinda surprised that Assange would come out on the side of Trump. Freedom at any cost?

sphinxMM Member

Well Hillary wanted to drone him. I wouldn’t say freedom at any cost is quite it, she has a long and relentlessly bad career involved in all kinds of dark activities, things that he felt obliged to try to uncover. Trump’s comparable darkness in action is as yet unknown.

GemyogiMM Member

I actually feel Assange is pro-Trump because he hates the US, and is pro-Russia. I had a lot of respect for him but I think Wikileaks is now playing political games with power rather than just exposing the truth and government secrets.

From reading more and tweeting with Assange, I also think he’s a misogynist.
