Mars in Scorpio Is Hardcore

Mars in Scorpio IS hardcore but so are we.   It is like we did Saturn in Scorpio – October 2012 till September 2015 – and now Mars is the sergeant making sure every drill got thoroughly integrated into our system.  It’s a punish in some many ways but one that will also make us more genuinely stronger; not hollow strength, bluster or reinforcing our delusions but depth strength.

It’s not operating in isolation, of course. There is Mercury Retrograde, with the forced reassess of our life structures & Saturn-Neptune – in effect till late 2016 – lobbing Truth Grenades.  But Saturn is also starting to augment Uranus (big-time inspiration and innovation, this one) and Jupiter is augmenting Pluto. So the Change Gods are supported and so are you.

And Lilith opposite Uranus is naturally revolutionary for relationships. That would be all relationships. Even your relationship with yourself. Profound times evoke profound reactions people. This is the thinking under-pinning the Horoscopes i am writing at the moment. Even if the working is not usually shown (eg: Jupiter + Pluto – Neptune and Full Moon brewing = X if you are an Aries) it is there.

Thoughts?

I am finding the poet Robinson Jeffers madly relevant right now, he was Capricorn, Pisces Rising and Moon in Cancer.  But then again I have Pluto squaring up to my Mercury in Aries.  Must every Pluto transit begin with a shudder? According to The Heroes Journey, actually – yes.

"Earthquake-proved, and signatured
By ages of storms: on its peak
A falcon has perched.

I think, here is your emblem
To hang in the future sky;
Not the cross, not the hive,

But this; bright power, dark peace;
Fierce consciousness joined with final
Disinterestedness..."

Natal Mars in Scorpio (conjunct Saturn), so just finished the Saturn return, now onto the Mars return. But ever since Mars into Scorpio, I’m getting things done. Workwise. Focused as fuq.

Meanwhile, Mercury is retrograding right over my natal Venus (chart ruler, as Libra rising), Pluto is about to light that up, Saturn is ON my natal Uranus/SN, and Lilith/Uranus are playing weird games between my 1st and 7th houses. Relationships are all sorts of weird right now- I have no idea what I want or where I stand with anyone.

Every time a planet goes into Scorpio, it crosses my ascendant and activates my t-square. Saturn is sitting on my Moon Neptune till December, and the full moon Saturday will be exact on my sunny sun. But hey, I got this.

“Let go or be dragged” is one of my favorite Zen proverbs, by the way. Not always easy (t-square is fixed y’all) but damn it feels good when it happens.

Yeah I have Neptune at my MC in Scorpio so those transits can be interesting. Right now Mars is squaring my Uranus. I always thought Mars-Uranus was a flammable combination.

I’m not really feeling fully committed to the hardcore just this moment. I feel maybe only about halfway hardcore. I’m feeling halfcore.

I feel hardcore in my castle! I have retreated due to extreme qi vampery but I will return.

Halfcore is fine. Halfcore is honest. And halfcore will be full on hardcore when the time is right.

I can’t just let go. I have to put up at least a token resistance. Otherwise it doesn’t feel like I’m letting go of anything.

Damn straight it has been intense lately, but I feel like this time round I’m actually sticking to things! Getting shit done. Making progress, despite setbacks.

Since last Friday I started to feel a shift with my current contract job. Paranoia is kicking in. Trying to stay quiet and push myself. I just lost the connection. Ugh!! Men are coming out of the wood work again. My Toro/gem contacted me after several months. Not sure what he wants, well maybe I do, but I just treated him like a stranger as I should. Waiting to see what he does. Met a new man through my friend. He is a neighbor of hers. He’s calling me tonight. Trying to give all worries to God and hope He… Read more »

Must every Pluto transit begin with a shudder? No, I don’t think it has to if you already know what needs to go and then set about letting go….sometimes this will entail the Kübler-Ross model of the 5 stages of grieving, as it is indeed a loss The problem with Pluto transits is – prior to their visit – we’re often not sure where the purge is required. Then when we do get signs we resist and try to hold on to some defunct scenario/job/relationship/etc for dear life, which is the wrong way to go – if something shits the… Read more »

Synchronicity. Mars through Scorpio traveling to catch up with Saturn July/August 2014 was a huge time of awakening for me around intimate relationship: what I wanted, what I expected, what could be available to me. During that time I was briefly in Big Sur, had lunch in Carmel, and met an older man at lunch there who could quote Robinson Jeffers poetry from memory. The end of that phase was devastating and liberating and I am looking at this full moon on Saturday, with all the echoes back to August 2014 and wondering what the drill sargent Mars is going… Read more »

Oh, and it was the exploded mess of my being and the ensuring confusion that brought me to Mystic at that time. So, Mars/Saturn in Scorpio is part of my relationship to this site.

Robinson Jeffers <3 <3 <3 Favorite poet ever. Even though it is now only a few hours away, and I've come across the whole continent, I can't bring myself to go to Tor House. It's like I've imbued it with so much mythology that to casually or even uncasually visit it is to invite death in. It is the final stop on the final pilgrimage, that downstairs window deathbed overlooking the sea, fearlessly, awake. http://www.poetrynook.com/poem/torch-bearers-race Also, a shock! I followed the wiki link, and was shocked to see that he is the spitting image, down to those fierce everything-seeing hawk… Read more »

I used to work with raptors, rescue and not. I have to say eagles are the most scorpionic, but i feel like hawks and falcons are more aquarius. They are stubborn in their own way, detached, but more dog-like when you get to know them. There are reasons why ancient falconers are so passionate about their birds and write love poetry about it. Eagles seem to have less intelligence but retain their dignity as much as possible. (Hey it isnt just me that thinks this. I was told Ben Franklin wanted the wild turkey as America’s symbol as they were… Read more »

Thanks for that, annica, really moving. And wow – working with raptors – you lucky thing! I love your insights to their characters. I love raptors – just love them. Where my shack is, there are a couple of golden eagles nesting a stone’s throw away on a rocky outcrop. We’ve been neighbours now for 12 years. Their nest was damaged by recent fires and i’m hoping they will rebuild it – as i will really miss them – best neighbours i’ve ever had. There are also tons of griffon vultures – sometimes they don’t even bother flying away when… Read more »

Oh i have seen that girl eagle hunter. Amazing! What i also love is that they release the birds from captivity after a while.

Yes – that’s IT! That’s what makes this rite of passage so poignant. There’s something of the Saturn in Sagg feel about it, too – dedication/learning/freedom.

that story w the rescue eagle is lovely. and being wrapped in eagle wings like a giant bird hug, nose to beak.. amazing. peak experience… <3

Digression

He had a heavy brow / skull structure indicating his Scorpness.

How Scorp that line.

I know, I feel the same way. When I was around 15 ? My mother was worried that my dad wasn’t ‘guiding’ me. So she invited over a young marketing exec from her work to ‘see how I was going’. He came over and he didn’t really know what to say, but he played me the Desperado album and I was hooked.

Their stuff pre Hotel was fantastic. HC a great song dripping with meta4s. With Bowie, Rickman n Frey going before 70 it makes ya think.

Also been thinkn about what ya said about Mars going over ya Nep. Similar; Mars over my 4th and this is evident with the work lm putting in to sell post divorce. Plus my Jup at 22° Scorp. I tend to feel Pluto transits more than Scorp ‘light-ups’. Prob bcos l am Mars Pluto cjunct and Scorp chart tone.

I like Mars energy. And I love Scorpio energy. So this is all just sexy to me. In siderel (sp?) astrology my Mars and Venus are in Scorpio – I feel that. Relationships. I have to admit my biggest relationships at the moment are with the spirits. Archangel Raphael is here and here to stay. He was gunning for me HARD this past week and now that I am no longer resisting him so really deep healing is going down. I also need to cultivate a better routine with my body which really cannot phoenix until school terms resume next… Read more »

God, this explains so much already. Mind you, for those of us who literally barrel rolled from 2015 like the explosion it was, it’s given me pause for thought.

I was in a bit of a funk earlier this weekend and I realized that Mars was at the exact same degree of Scorpio that Saturn was in 2012 when some real hell broke loose in my life. And realizing that and reflecting on how things have changed, how I survived, gave me a really beautiful sense of release and tenacity, and recovered equanimity. Mars is currently within a few degrees of my natal Pluto (which is square my natal sun — which the Saturn in Scorp misadventure taught me is a major personal hotspot) and if my experience of… Read more »

Yessum. EVERY Pluto transit begins with a guttural yawing or wrench or grind or scraping or gouging or or a shitload of displacement. Double scoop….that’s right, strawberry

Nice one – raptors are my signature animals …

I’m currently packing up, throwing out, selling up every emblem of a really significant phase … moving cities.

Pluto is hitting freaking everything with squares and trines!! Sun, venus, mars, merc, true node, chiron, and natal pluto .. skipping stones, all within 3 degrees.

Aloneness, thinness, and feeling utterly scooped out yet steely and a little stoned although not. I’ve just culled every single instagram account that glorifies hedonism – a sudden extreme revulsion!

Wow, that poem is astounding.
I’ve had a couple of relationships with Mars in Scorpio men. Profound and life-changing ones. And while I have Scorpio planets a-plenty, so I’m no ditz, those men were something else. Deeply soulful, with a mega-dark side.

Soulful is the perfect way to describe them. The last crush was a Mars in Scorpio man and his eyes were amazing. But when he talked, he didn’t move me so much. He didn’t have the depth I hoped for but he sure as hell knew how to make love with the eyes…

Man, I’ve been struggling financially and there is such little external stability, every bill is paid by some creative solution (selling something, making someone a website, copyediting)… but there is an awesomeness in it being hard and feeling like no matter what comes my way I am Handling It. And that I would be totally breaking down if these were my circumstances a few years ago but now I can just calmly keep moving and interacting with life, taking advantage of opportunities as they come and just showing up. No, I don’t feel like the work I am doing has… Read more »

*ahem* MY POINT: so far Mars in Scorpio does feel like a results-reaping of Saturn in Scorpio, but the results aren’t some shiny surface-level prize… the results are intangible but invaluable. I’ve never felt so strong I think

Agree with you on the sensation that work needs to feel “meaningful” to be worth getting done … or rather, agree that I’ve awakened to that being something I struggle with. Not with the getting it done, but more the inexplicable hollowness that I was feeling. Now, I understand that I need to create meaning in many ways in my life — not just through how I earn a living. And the moments where I can infuse earning a living with meaning will be cherished — but not expected always. It’s like, I’m still driven and I like earning income… Read more »

This makes sense. If you don’t identify with any one activity (work, whatever) then the meaning can seep in where it does and you can get on with being yourself. Good on you for staying nimble.
