Saturn Neptune Transit Advice

woman with long towel in front of bonfire on beach

Saturn Neptune transits are tricky and need management. The cold shower of Saturn sensibility being tipped into the warm bubble bath of Neptune is a shock. So it is the week of Saturn square Neptune, the opening stanza.  We are all having a sort of Saturn Neptune transit, but it is challenging when it pings off something in your natal chart. The recent challenges of Ronda Rousey and Charlie Sheen are examples.

Saturn square Neptune pricks bubbles and shreds delusions. But if you’re honest with yourself, even gossamer dreams can become more realizable.

The painful bit of it is the lead-up when you’re trying to convince yourself that something too-fragile, out of era or non-sustainable is beautiful. And hey, you’ll have another shot of Lilac Wine while you’re at it. Not with Saturn in call-it-like-it-is Sagittarius, you won’t.

Media-wise, Charlie Sheen and his sorry tale of health woes are totes Saturn-Neptune. It’s not so much a tabloid journalism field day as a tabloid Olympics.  The first I heard of this was that an “A-list celebrity” was holed up in his mansion, freaking out as he was H.I.V. positive, had been for a while and had not told anyone. He was worried that the signal of his “genius” would be lost in the noise of the media coverage. Seven hundred ex-lovers threatening to sue you will do that.

Saturn Neptune Transits Are An Icy Cold Shower To Warm Bubble Bath

So obviously H.I.V. is not so dire as it once was and Charlie Sheen should have decades ahead in which to, well, be Charlie. But it is an appalling thing to do to someone else and, I believe, illegal.

Sheen was once a talented actor – Platoon, Wall St, etc. and his salary for Two And A Half Men alone puts him the A-List ranking for money. But heaps of peeps stopped watching/following when he started his epic drug-fueled hate-ranting on any medium that would have him.

As he has been best known for being bat-shit insane, skeevy, and high in recent years, it is interesting that his big concern is legacy. Neptune is heading up to his natal Saturn – this can be amazing if you’re mature and accountable.

Saturn Central is no time to be hiding out from your trillion ex “lovers” with whom you have failed to disclose a potentially life-threatening and sexually transmissible disorder. It also puts the lie to the part of us/him that wanted to see him as a free-spirit, perpetual party-animal. Dionysus crossed with Hunter S Thompson? A shaman of anarchy? Or just an addict with the usual trail of life wreckage in his wake?

How will he choose to handle this? Humbly and with a 12 step vibe, family and any friends he has left at his side?

And…then there is Ronda Rousey…

Charlie Sheen Rant

The UFC fighter and until recently, world champion of the woman’s division is a million light-years away from Charlie Sheen. She is celebrated, athletic and driven. She is cool. But she has also suffered a Saturn-Neptune sting recently, via her defeat at the hands of Sun-Pluto Libran Holly Holm.

Rousey is bearing down on Saturn Return. In one fight, her media vibe seemed to go from the new role model of feminism to outbursts about her hubris and over-exposure. This Salon article sums that end of it up brilliantly.  The backlash was brutal.

Neptune is crossing her 10th House, and Saturn is squaring that. She has learned the vile lesson that you can go from crowd favorite to pariah very quickly. The same mass adoration that pumped a multi-faceted career can also manifest as 459,000 (last time i looked) “ha-hah” comments on Instagram. That is hardcore for someone so open, bolshie and champ-like about her intentions to “retire undefeated.”

Illusions Cause Chronic Psychic Fatigue Syndrome

Also, a deeper dimension of Saturn-Neptune: People close to her, including her Judo champion mother, have been critical of her long-term trainer for years, saying her success is despite him and due to her raw talent, not his guidance. He did not cover himself in glory after this defeat either. A Saturn-Neptune square like this can involve being let down by a prized mentor, parent figure, and muse.

A dream that you thought was sustainable turns out to be based on quicksand. A person you thought was your companion or staunch ally takes a side path away from you, and you find out something dirty about them while you’re trudging onward. But there is no point scolding them or even whining. They can’t hear you – your paths diverged a while back. But you’re only now seeing it now.

When you’re having a Saturn Neptune transit, you may think that raw honest realism will wreck everything. But it’s invigorating and an upper. Illusions cause chronic psychic fatigue syndrome.

Thoughts?

And another Neptune (the porn/prostitution fantasy that no means yes) bubble is PRICKED by truth telling Saturn in Sagg:

The Continental-school Tarot of the Holy Light dismisses the English Gardnerian Line of Tarot and equates Sagittarius, not Capricorn, with El Diablo. This makes sense of all the sex stuff that’s coming out now, to Saggitarian me!
PS: Mystic Medusa I think you would love this deck. Dig Strength as Lilith aka Lady Mars!

I’ve only just read this post. I am so disappointed at the response of crowds to Rousey’s FIRST EVER ufc defeat. How petty and small minded. I would put money on that if it were an otherwise undefeated male world champ, the media and onlookers would be far more sportsmanlike.
So I say Boo to them. Get out there and have a go yourself you gutless wonders.

Christ, I’m reading this with empathy for those who have had life as they know it blow up in their faces. I am at peace now of the events from January to August but I’m also a tad concerned. Saturn hasn’t even squared my natal Saturn yet and I’m just hoping like hell I’ve done my hard yards. I have Saturn coming up to squaring saturn, Venus and sun as Neptune tramples over the whole lot all the while squaring my Uranus, Pluto and Mars in the opposite house. And finally had time to get back to Mystics astrology studies… Read more »

I left my old “path” / “dream”, last august. It was painful, but needed to happen. I decided to try a new “path”/ “dream”. In September ( under the eclipse, conj my natal saturn), I applied for a job at a very large/important international organization. Thursday ( neptune direct) I heard back from them and Today, I take my writing assessment. I am assuming, this is how I will be working with the square. Also, Jupiter is one degree from my natal saturn. I think I am right on time. Thankfully, I dropped the old baggage. Now, I only have… Read more »

Oh wow – thanks Gemyogi! I think you might have given me a hint.

I have been nervously going over all my psychological “homework” trying to figure out where Saturn was going to prick – given that I’m pretty sure I don’t have any illusions left.
But maybe it’s the hard core, “dont need no one” uber independence I have been hiding behind for…forever.
Male companionship, sex, affection…maybe even…(dare I say it) love?
I wonder how different the world would look if I considered these concepts as possibilities…

Oh, Mystic, I just see from the Daily Scopes that the Saturn/Neptune square is ON my natal Sun tomorrow at 7 degrees Sagg… :0 Oh golly golly golly… I’m feeling nervous now as I’m already having an ‘interesting’ time thus far with Saturn transiting my 1st and 7th. And Neptune transiting my 4th and 10th. Marriage breakdown; affair with qi vamp colleague that came to sticky end; mother dying; going through perimenopause… Sheesh, how much can I take…? I feel for you. My natal Neptune is at 7 degrees (conjunct with Mercury at 10) and about to be hit on. Making it at Saturn-Neptune conjunction square Neptune. And then Mercury lining up to follow. Venus about to slip in Scorpio. I’m resisting sitting down to do one of the exercises in my personal development course that would actually dig under the veneer to see what’s there. I’m a writer. I’m a font of useless metaphors. But always happy to impart some. I think at the end of the day with or without significant others, if we can only ever rely on ourselves then that’s all we’ll ever needs and everything else will just be an extra layer of beauty/wonder/brilliance. Exactly. I don’t know how people with huge talent and work ethic to back it up can avoid getting a bit carried away with their own awesomeness. Dick moments (ha) are great really: overreach, smack upside the head, reevaluate, expand understanding and compassion for our own and all human failings, adjust course. Is there any other way to do it, growth? And I think you are right, the worst revellers in the schadenfreude are probably people who lack the self belief to reach, so will never overreach. “Saturn square Neptune pricks bubbles and shreds delusions. But if you go with the radically candid assessment of the terrain, even the most gossamer dreams can become more realizable.” Love this and love this thread. Super relevant and REAL.

I appreciate the Saturn square Neptune consciousness of late. I seem to be getting more disciplined and structured while simultaneously casting off old plans that were made out of fear and a need for security, trusting that if I stick with the discipline in the areas I actually enjoy that it will lead me to security in its own way.

It’s really difficult to call close friends on their less than brilliant and often painful behaviour. Yes. I grew up with the mentally ill. I know the look of someone who believes their own lies. Speaking to them only fuels their lies because they filter your words through a mask they’ve put on the situation. No way to escape their projections other than to remove yourself from the situation. I had to make a lot of confrontations Thursday and Friday in the office. That’s Saturn, right? And the new space quickly opened up. Just like Mystic’s Libra horoscopes said. Most of my first house is libra, and I did leave but a blur of stirred up… Read more »

To both of you… @ 12th House Virgo @scorpio_rising… so spot on with mental illness… the liars and their belief in their own lies… and also their amazing ability to convince others that their lies are truths. I’ve seen this first hand many times… and the look on their faces when they do this can be downright scary. Ya go…Wtf? Where did that come from? Another personality has definitely popped out here. Being a trained therapist has helped me gain perspective on their illness… and I see that most (if not all) of these people who have this capacity, have… Read more »

YES… I knew an amazing Aries woman who unfortunately was mentally ill due to the exact injuries you described… beaten in the head to the point she now takes anti-seizure medication.

It’s so sad. She has so much potential, and started out as a great friend, but… she’s a black hole of dysfunction, a true qi vampire.

Yes. She was raised by a horribly abusive preacher father. Talk about delusional…she’s been raised by pros

Pathological liars?
so sad…PTSD from childhood abuse..create lies to protect inner self?
I dated a guy who told the most outlandish craziest lies but the ones that really bothered me was the simple ones. He couldn’t tell the truth if his life depended on it, and he suffered childhood sexual abuse by the hands of his over-controlling smothering adopted mother (Cancer) and a cold distant angry alcoholic adopted father.
He insist he didn’t go into a 7-11 when I just witnessed him come out of one for a coke. Nothing weird but adamantly lie and defend himself. Made no sense whatsoever.

You have just ‘opened up’ something remarkable for me 12HV. I have the exact same house placements as you. Most of my 1st house is Libra although my asc is 27 Virgo. In fact 25 Virgo (only two deg BEFORE my Asc) is the cusp of my 1st house. So most of my 12 house is Virgo, although it technically starts at 21 Leo. My a-ha moment is that you say you read LIBRA and not Virgo as yr Rising sign. …which makes sense as, even if Asc is Virgo, having most of 1st house Libra, ‘fits’ much better with… Read more »

Thank you! My AC is 26 Virgo, but I have a bunch of planets in Libra. I find the Libra scopes resonate for me as far as house position of the planets involved. Good luck with your work situ too!

I think maybe the confrontations are Pluto?

12th house virgo

Maybe confrontation isn’t the best word choice because the entire event was very Saturn in 3rd square Neptune 6th, complete with popping bubble of delusional peeps/expectations at work and doing 3rd house Saturn with a move, new team config.

So that’s what’s going on this week. Because SOMETHING sure has been going on. So many people are getting slammed. Tonight at work I had two men weeping in my bar. Full-on bawling, including the DJ up in the booth. Both had been dumped. I had my weeping too, this week. Riding my bike, I came upon a cat laying prone in the road (the crows’ racket was the first warning). I circled around and it meowed at me. I threw my bike on the sidewalk and ran out to get it. It was whole but bleeding at the mouth.… Read more »

I’m sorry, too, d. Can I ever relate. I love animals, heart & soul … it always tears me up to find one injured or dying.

Hope you’re feeling better. Take care. xx

Thank you Kell (and VEllie and Melody!), I really do hope so. I have three of my own… I hugged my black Leonardo so tight when I got home (the cat was black), much to his irritation. There was a moment of hesitation- I have a particular horror of dead and dying things- I really did not want to be there- but leaving a living animal lying on a busy street was Not An Option. It actually taught me something about myself… you know that thing about how you don’t know how strong you are until you have no choice.… Read more »

So, I have Natal Saturn in my 5th house with Neptune sitting in transition in my 5th house. Although what Mystic talks about sounds like a transition square with Saturn and Neptune I wonder if my positioning applies. I am trying to see what might apply to a bubble popping in my life. I think this bubble popped when I met my cop friend. Yes, my concerns are always around romance and career. So, romance brought through to me by the cop I met in July the 2 guys prior to him and how carelessly I wanted them to like… Read more »

After thinking about this and last weeks’ work situation I walked away from being onsite at my client’s location away from home, worked with the main girl and felt like my contract might be extended. It ends on 12/18 if I don’t hear that it has been extended. I honestly felt like a good connection. But if this w/e deters that. Ouch. Maybe that is my bubble popping. This client showed up at the beginning of August with Saturn in Scorpio, 2nd House. Saturn has been in Scorpio until 9.19.2015 when it moved into Sagg. That was my first visit… Read more »

Well, if your bubble hasn’t popped yet, at least you’re prepared.

I also have had a recent situation where my bubble as been popped. I hope that’s all I get because it was a harsh one. But it not, at least I am forewarned and staying at peak awareness.

Electro, can you say more? Always interested in hearing others say that something happened that is consistent with the planets alignment.

This is pretty right on. I was just saying last night how I felt like I was walking around with new eyes. Its been nothing but unpredictable, unstable good and terrible surprises for a few years now having Uranus transiting my eighth house and I thought that my recent blows may have been the catalyst for this new vision, but after reading, it all makes sense. I was at the grocery store and suddenly this bullshit veil was lifted and I felt the reality of the lives of all the people working there, its hard to put into words, but… Read more »

paying blackmail money instead of being upfront has just left him in a bigger mess. I’m thinking he’ll hide. The bravado has gone.
And rousey. Talk about tough lesson. Most of us are just feeling like we’re getting a kick in the teeth these days. And we don’t have to deal with the equivalent of a small city’s population publicly announcing,” in your face”.

It getting tough out there with some people.
