The Astrology Of The Ashley Madison Hacks

Filed in Saturn

Miles Aldridge

What is the Astrology of the Ashley Madison hacks?

Well, they are like the last big swipe of Saturn in Scorpio’s Godzilla-like scaly tail.

Think about it.

It’s not just that hundreds of thousands of would-be or actual adulterers have had their private data breached.

Though the intrusion of what is (leaving aside discussions of morality/monogamy for a moment) personal material is obviously a massively Saturn-Scorpio theme, it’s also about the debate this Ashley Madison hacks have provoked.

The media is all over it, naturally, with interactive hot-spot maps of where the cheaters live in YOUR city.  The subject of fidelity/infidelity is being raised and hotly dialogued by everyone from Christians to polygamists.

Meanwhile, politicians and economy wonks are probably relieved that the news flow has moved away from the stock market for a bit.

So thank you Saturn in Scorpio, it’s been fab – what your thoughts on this latest Scorping?

So it looks like it was almost only men who joined the site with the company inventing a whole heap of fembots to attract the cheaters….

Canadian Police report two suicides over it now; that is a sad outcome whatever the morality or stupidity.
Plus imagine being a real Ashley Madison; I’d change my name

suicides?! That’s horrible.

I see dumb people.

How can we as a species be so stupid/empty/egotist?

Mistaking quantity for quality?

I don’t frown as much on the ‘morality’ of cheating than on its idiocy. Wasting so much precious TIME on CRAP.

If you got yourself Ashley Madisoned, may I suggest a swift return to basics.

Life is exhilirating enough without boring affairs and emotional dramas.

Thank god for the freedom of big side steps.

brava! agreed. These are boring people looking to create their own dramas.

It’s interesting that none of the above comments reference an article that was out a couple of days ago regards this hack. a reputable company researched the list and found names like Obama, Bill Clinton … Etc. in Australia a man listed proved he had never made contact with AM. So while the media have whipped us into a moral finger pointing frenzy, and quietly hidden the story I mentioned, the fact is that this list may just be mainly a collection of email addresses skimmed off the web and a few real ones. Well, scammers are going to scam… Read more »

Well I certainly wont be filling out my upcoming census form online!!!!.
And, isn’t there some law in place to stop insurance companys’ etc. purchasing illegally sourced information? I mean If I accidentally purchase a stolen car or whatever, and get sprung, I lose it.
It’s disgraceful. How can one protect ones self from information theft short of going back to the cheque system.
As for the AM thing, I think it’s just damn lazy to join up in the first place.

davidlMM Member

I can tell you now Ruth that whenever you use your card, especially recurring transactions, your details are not secure. I write software for companies that often have recurring monthly transactions they process for thousands of customers. The problem is, that to comply with current bank and gov rules (That CCard details must not be stored in databases once the current transaction is completed) is impossible to comply with. Imagine every recurring transaction needing to be done from scratch. This law protects the banks from liability for CCard fraud. Few companies comply and are rarely asked to comply. It’s one… Read more »

As I think, I don’t believe in divulging purely for the sake of revenge or a vendetta, and I don’t condone the notion of releasing people’s information or imposing on privacy, in this context; I’m not supporting dishonesty; untruths can be relative anyway…People could cal me a hypocrite for whatever past crimes I committed, but I there are limits to vigilante behaviour – if that is what this is all about…everything is inverse, so there is the challenge for anyone to really distinguish between what is just and what is not? Having just gone through my own breach of integrity due to a creepy object being left in my letterbox I’m left feeling vulnerable and exposed. I’ve shut down my facebook and am demanding security door be locked every night by other residents. I’m praying for a white light bubble and the universe/spirit guides to protect me. I’ve just gone through a fidelity stitch with the ex via catching him on online dating site (not AM) and I will never trust him again. Why we cant just be open with each other? I’m kind of stoked about it, honestly. It’s not in a morally righteous “ha, those cheaters deserved it” kind of way, but as a way for forcing important dialogue on a larger, sociocultural level. Like, what does it say about us that a site like Ashley Madison exists and is so popular? I’m hoping that the breach prompts a conversation about partnership expectations and communication. That’s a little idealistic no doubt, but at least it’s on people’s radar instead of just another “don’t ask don’t tell” policy. ALSO hopefully we’ll start thinking more about the state of online security. AM… Read more »

Agree; this is totally where I am at; would rather negotiate, discover new languages, being inside relationship – everything perpetually comes up – gentle or brutal – but not to push it away – after 20 years I can say some perceptions of marriage very strange – cannot be too fixed; some give, fluidity is needed to allow for creative growth, mistakes in out own way – dignity is worth all, proves very elusive under tests of passion…communication breathes beautiful possibility

I think there’s a shade of Uranus-Pluto square there too, the background conflict of the individual against corporate powers still resonating. The AM execs who ran the site grew prosperous by feeding the horny lust of guys everywhere by putting up this site that promised men they could have a completely discrete and consequence-free affair, and there were millions of women on the site ready to meet with them. Just like all dating websites, it made men believe that they could have a never-ending carousel of fun, and finding these women could be done from the convenience of his laptop.… Read more »

“Ashley Madison” – the name alone reeks of cheap perfume, a wistful glance through the tinted window and a hell of a hangover. I would rather go to France and find a dedicated hedonist. – PS. Re-read the Sexual Life of Catherine M. –

Yeah there are plenty of hedonists, swingers, sex clubs, orgies and polyamorous folks out there, you have to wonder if the act of cheating itself is not the actual fetish for these people.

I think Ashley Madison should be the name of a drag queen. Definitely drowning in cheap perfume though….and maybe spelled A-S-H-L-I.

Saturn in Scorpio -YIPE! A while back I had talked about a rise in gun violence in my city and neighborhood, and someone (thank you) looked up the astro for my city and mentioned Saturn in Scorpio. I am witness once again to similar effects this time around – there is some thug going around our neighborhood mugging and raping women at gunpoint. I agree with you about soul journeys. So many different types, from the crush that leads someone to recognize what they are looking for in their life partner (financial stability, physical touch, etc) to the all-out selfish power trips that come crashing down. The Ashley Madison site seems so tawdry and lacking in introspection. Like the Saggitarian Power Tool (still lol-ing over that one). On the other hand, experiences like yours can open up candid conversations with either one’s self or loved ones. I had an intense crush that went absolutely no where but I think it could have. God, sweetness – was wondering when you’d blog about this and voila, there it is. I think the AM hacks are a totes reality check on the sexuality/secrecy axis, forcing us to face that between the lines of right and wrong, between our decisions to commit vs. not to, lies a spectrum of human compulsion that is inexplicable and inconsistent to how many choose to define themselves. The thing is, regardless of all that and how complicated we all can be, one is still left with a choice every time – do we do the right thing or not? How… Read more »

Agree with Pi; perfectly expressed.

This all aligns with the push for greater authenticity that has become more urgent for many people over the last few years, whether it relates to work, love, sex, personal relationships, spirituality, food, personal gifts, etc.

Living a lie is being mired in stagnant, old world energy. Striving for authenticity is more likely to raise your vibrations and experience greater love and contentment.

Too long away from this forum FA, but just the right subject for you to swage and come back in on. The morality angle is moribund to most western-style democracies, but the gritty I’m-in-this-for-real, weve got kids and a mortgage disappointments that “break” hearts need a new learning paradigm to deal with this most basic of human desires/foibles/outcomes. A new thinking that lets everyone get something out of what is an enduring proclivity to seek a new sexual/love encounter that seems to be hardwired in our DNA. It’s unfortunately so true, that morality is only afforded upon revelation. When sought for advice, I rarely argue for the moral – it’s understood that a question indicates the asker is already ill at ease or suspicious of what they’re about to do.
