The Bhavana Romance “Spell”

Marcella Kroll

Hecate knows there is a total, extreme Eclipse EDGE out there at the moment. And relationships seem to be copping a lot of it. The weekend seemed to feature whole series of w.t.f anecdotes and crap going down.

So anyway, in the spirit of positivity and us not going totally bats this Eclipse, here is a beautiful little piece by my friend Marcella Kroll, an L.A. based psychic and intuitive witch, on the Bhavana.  It’s kind of like a spell, also for clarity.  She wrote about Letter Magic in December.

Bhavana for Romantic Partnership

Bh?van? (Pali;[1] Sanskrit, also bh?vana[2]) literally means “development”[3] or “cultivating”[4] or “producing”[1][2] in the sense of “calling into existence.” (courtesy of wikipedia.org)

These days it really is important to be clear about what you are wanting to draw into your life. You hear the word “manifest” a lot. We are encouraged to make Vision Boards for the lives we so desire to manifest/live. Vision Boards are in a sense a visual Bhavana. Just like mantras are sacred, so are our lists of goals and intentions that we create to get the ball rolling in manifesting what we want. We can build our dreams and desires just like our daily to do lists by giving them life, making them sacred objects, and treating them as such.

So what on earth exactly is a Bhavana? Well to keep things simple, let’s call it an Intentions List magnified x’s 10. I was given this lovely guideline by Yoga Teacher and Golden Sol Yoga and Wellness Center Co-Founder, Amy Patrice Golden. It is a practice and teaching that she has taught in workshops and has successfully seen the powerful results of her practice over the years. To connect with Amy directly do visit www.goldensol.org or email goldensolcollective@gmail.com to reach her.

I love setting intentions. Whether you call it your wish list, Soul Mate guide, or Bhavana. I believe that by listing what we want, with clarity and intention, we can hyper focus on what we want, and magnetize it to us. By getting clear on the details of what you would like to see more of in your life. So let’s start with Amy’s Brilliant Bhavana technique for calling in your perfect for you Romantic Partner. See the pic for layout and directions below. If you want to get really Witchy with it, I would recommend doing this on the New or Full Moon. As the Moon is a powerful witness and energy holder for making your intentions come true and fast.

You are going to need a piece of paper, letter size or larger. Position the paper in landscape position, longways, and put your name at the top. Next divide the paper into 4 columns. I will list below with some examples…

1st – He/She says
“I support you”, “You are the funniest person I know”, “I adore you”, etc. etc.

2nd – He/She does
Show Up, Follow through, Respects themselves, Has a spiritual practice, etc.

3rd – We do
Share similar values, have great communication, travel well together, etc.

4th – He/She has/is
Motivated, successful career, good manners, affectionate, etc. etc.

Once complete, meditate with your Bhavana, or keep it by your bedside for an evening or two. Then protect this sacred document. Put it somewhere you respect. Then let go of thinking about it, knowing, and trusting that you sent your special telegram out into the Cosmos. All will be as it should. So mote it be.

I did a love spell on the superfullmoon. I had gone though a really bad breakup and had been single for two years when I did this. I wrote out exactly what I wanted and by the next supermoon which was the next month a person that was already in my life that I had never viewed in that light had me on the most romantic date Ive ever been on! Weve been together since and supports me and makes me happy in ways Ive never had in a realtionship Strongly encourage writing out what you want from a partner!

I did a quick Google search but couldn’t find anything…does anyone have any suggestions for what headings you would use if you wanted to do this for wealth/abundance/career dreams? Thanks!

You could just your name at the top with what you are wanting to intend. Wealth, Abundance, Career, Intentions.

I was going to ask the same question re job so thank you ! Maybe I’ll make one that has “company values”, “what i do”, “what I work on” or something like that.

Or maybe I’ll follow Stella’s suggestions 🙂

I’m gonna apply this to all aspects of my existence. I seem to be finding squares n such in my transits (i resisted).

And Pluto (yes l know Pluto ‘razing n raising’ mantra) doing all that stuff when he/she was opp my 8/9° Asc and, in 5-7 years, my Sun. My 7H, no less, where my Moon lives. I feel like lm in the eye of the storm waiting for the winds to come the other way. Way more going on than l have divulged.

I did this a few years before I met my husband except it was more like a Shakti Gawain vision board. Trying to ignore the 16 candles vibe, I had cut out pics of characters who I felt had qualities I liked e.g., humour, or a picture of a cook’s hands grinding with a mortar and pestle symbolising a love of food, a guy playing a guitar, a guy reading etc. I looked at it again after I married and it was a shock to realise my partner had the same mortar and pestle as the one I had pasted,… Read more »

Oh, I forgot! So my point is – to some extent this life is quite illusory. There is no harm at all in suggesting the energies you want in your life come packaged in a certain way.
Though as I get older I do see the wisdom in not limiting the packaging to the extent of my own limited imagination.

Being an artist, I found all sorts of pictures started to manifest really quickly when I became aware of the process. The lists are good for clarity and definition, but almost as the list gets fulfilled your desires change and evolve!!
Is so true what you say about not limiting what the universe brings to only what you can imagine

akapluto

I really jive with the image collecting- it’s helped my life make so much more sense in so many areas., because I always forget myself or have trouble managing all the facets and lose myself in just one of them.

Do you have planets in the 12th? I feel like it’s a 12th house/2nd house thing ( or pisces/cap, neptune/saturn).

The subconscious talks in images, so I think images are really helpful. Picture tells a 1000 words ‘n’ all that. My 12th is ruled by Taurus, plus I have Neptune in the 6th & Mercury in the 2nd. So my dreaminess is VERY concrete and earthy.

How is your Neptune/12th placed?

akapluto
akapluto

Oh, I see…yeah the Taurus ruled 12th makes sense.

I have a Libra ruled 12th so a bit of the same Venusian stuff. I have the Sun, Mercury, Pluto and Saturn in the 12th. Neptune in the 2nd, with Mars and Jupiter in Cap in the 2nd as well.

Making my unconscious into something tangible is a big theme!

yeah i look at the vision boards that i did a few years ago and am consistently amazed at how literally they manifest. usually the next year, which, being mutable, means that i don’t care anymore!
(not entirely true – at some point they became about feelings and growth and stuff and that still matters. just not the stuff stuff.)
regardless, they’re cathartic and clarifying and fun to do, so why not?! 🙂

This all looks very complicated…
but then again Saturn thru Libra 4th house and Pluto squaring has already shaken a lot of these sort of lists out of my pen. They’re gathering dust but were great to clarify priorities at the time

And I mean CLARIFY.
a lot of the fluffy needy crap was dropped off the list. I just looked at it after a while and rolled my eyes at myself, lol

Oh (LOL) I once after work in a restaurant with some tipsy cheery colleagues of mine let go of, (with cigarette in hand), a pile of balloons with a lovely note attached to the person of my dreams, to watch it float into the dark sky above…We laughed, as though it was a hopeless crush…But a year later I think this man walked straight down the side of a house I lived in (of a uni share house), while I was showering…into the backyard where I appeared barley clothed dripping wet very pleasantly surprised…LOL, we were together at the end… Read more »

So over the manifesting schizz. I made sure i did NOT manifest anything formally the last new moon. It felt freeing and breezy, instead of the anxious energy manifesting normally gives me. I get it, that it works for some people, but I am officially over it. Call it bitterness. Call it being in my 40’s.. Call it being needing to get laid..call it needing to go get “a real job” or get “a real life”… But manifesting has gotten me squat. Before my mid 20’s i managed to get what i needed simply thinking it. No spells or manifesting… Read more »

Lol yes, 45 here and doing a stonker of a Pluto transit. I get what you mean.

I’m totally okay with NOT manifesting a romance, especially someone who’ll say “I adore you”. Run girls! That’s a toxic recipe for sure.

Prince Stolas
Prince Stolas

I hear you! I wish i could find a transit to blame but it’s been awful since 2005, peak awful was 2008…and while stuff is still awful it is “normal” levels of awful, not the kind that make you contemplate killing yourself. Must be an outer planet for sure…but nothing lines up.

Like right now..i am dealing with the return of a stalker. Do i need more bull crap from “manifesting” some dissappointing idiot? No.

I have done a list like this – no joke – four times, and each time I met a long-term partner within the fortnight. I’m now married to the fourth one. The idea of “manifestation” has always been a bit of a sore point for me. While I have seen it work a few times in my life… there were also many times where I really wanted to “manifest” something, something I really needed (like a cure for my illness, or friendship…) and it didn’t show up. And that made me bitter and disappointed. But it also made me realise… Read more »

There are times when we suppress the messages our spirits are asking us to listen to and face. We are used to getting our way, remaining in what we are familiar with and fighting against the tides of change no matter how unhappy we are. Fear can disguise itself to look like an ally keeping us from harm. Is it helping us or is fear keeping us from who we truly are and were meant to become? Fear of the unknown keeps us repeating the same situation over and over again. We know well what the familiar looks like, sounds… Read more »

Yeah, I’m kind of in the same boat on this one, …the last big list I did was fulfilled to the letter and I created this person who also had a lot of deeper issues that triggered so much pain (healing) for me it was uncanny…ten years on, two years separated (with 3 kids) I’m still reeling….and sitting by the river today realised I’m terrified of anything, as last two attempts at relationship have again triggered massive wounds….(chiron sitting on top of natal chiron) I guess I just answered my own perplexion..lol….just got to put my spiritual warrior (worrier) /… Read more »

Yes, this is very interesting. After a breakup, I wrote a very detailed description in my journal of the man i wanted to be with, down to specific physical details.

I am now with that man. I even read him the description and said “it’s you.” He was pretty blown away.

The kicker? It took 9 years for him to show up. Guess we both just had a lot more growing to do.

I have massively mixed feelings about the whole manifesting business. On the one hand it’s worked in a very real and tangible way for me and on the other hand it really has not. I find that the things I manifest easily are the things I’m not emotionally invested in or can imagine having, it’s hard to know what it would feel like to be financially secure when your whole life is based on financial worry, I’m sure it’s easier to draw in the love or the perfect job or whatever it is you want when you’re already in a… Read more »

I wanted to add that this is also a good exercise if you’re having doubts in a relationship where the person says one thing BUT his actions say something else. Example, my Ex would always tell me he adored and loved me but his abusive actions–his anger over everything I did or wanted to do–said otherwise. He said he trusted me but his breaking into my email, checking my gas gauge, confirming what I told him by checking my statements with outsiders–told me otherwise. He said he respected me but he disregarded my opinion on everything and never took my… Read more »

precisely. I think it is important to define more clearly what it means, for example, to say “we communicate well.” What does communicating well actually look, sound and feel like? Maybe it involves demonstrating a good capacity to participate fully, peacefully and fairly in conflict resolution. Or for one partner or the other not to go into a jealous tailspin about some crap, or be self-aware enough to recognise its happening before it plays out. Or being able to admit to a secret love for margarine and plastic cheese on white plastic bread sandwiches. and the other person being cool… Read more »

I agree, otherwise you just end up with a pile of cliches or abstractions, or stuff everyone wants. Yes we all want to be adored but what that looks like might be different for different people.
I am a paid-up member of the ‘be careful what you wish for’ society. Intention is VERY powerful. So much responsibility comes with our free will. I reckon a lot of people think that asking the universe for what you want is like a woo-woo version of Sizzler. They want all they can eat and no flatulence or cellulite.
Every choice comes with a flip-side.

I may also be worth noting the entire picture or setup in photo above. The purple pen, the attention to what she does to her hands (this is how she sees her hands…and the importance she gives to her hands, the agent of taking her inner ideas to the outside world), nail color, crystal on the paper, etc…

‘the answer is blowing in the wind…’ KNow the EXACT person who needs to see this right now. On an interesting note, similar to the above post, a client of mine wrote a numeral that kept coming to him in a dream on a piece of paper and put it in all the jacket pockets he would wear out the most. Within two months he had moved residence, gained a new vibe on his creative outlet ——> which led to increase on how he moneytised his work, and he also made a new long-term friend who later then became his… Read more »

Thank you, Marcella! I am so happy that after teaching you how to create a Bhavana on Thursday- that it had such an impact! Wow! So great! I have been working on refining this process for many years and have held numerous workshops teaching this to others at Golden Sol. It has become my “trademark ,” so to speak! The technique is a lot simpler and I am living proof it works! Much love to you and all your readers as you all seek your soul mates. If anyone has any questions, please email me at goldensolcollective@gmail.com
