It’s always bad when ignorant idiots mistake their own egos & mind-derailings for “the will of Allah”.

Allah, if he were to exist, would no way in hell condone this or any of the other Daesh/IS acts.

The lack of logic always astounds me. That people would ‘obey’ a God who’d (supposedly) expect such brutality/destruction/ignorance.

It’s not the Gods who are at fault. It’s the humans whose interpretations of the Gods is stuck in short-circuit error.

Sigh.

I’ve transitioned from sad to angry about this. Sometimes anger can be a productive emotion IMO. I’m not referring to thoughtless and destructive rage (see video above) but as in, ok if in my natal chart I have Ishtar in the 10th on my midheaven, near my sun, mars, mercury, Palas Athena, conjunct Sekhmet and Lilith is currently transiting that area right now then perhaps anger IS the appropriate reaction. As in screw that, I am going to do something constructive to empower the Goddess energy. I want to be stronger and more useful to a cause I believe in.… Read more »

Ishtar is currently transiting so close to my natal moon in Sag. Progress moon in Cancer feels pain for myself and the world today. Had no idea why till I logged on here. This actually helps put things in perspective. Everything just hurts today inside me. I feel like all my cosy delusions are being shattered but seeing this actually mirrors how I feel in my inner world. As if Saturn is just breaking shit I like for his own reasons that I don’t understand. Feel a bit like a sulky kid with Saturn atm. Like ENOUGH ALREADY DUDE. The… Read more »

Just checked and natally I have asteroid Ishtar in the 10th house at 14 deg Virgo, close to my sun, mars, merc, pallas, etc etc so no great surprises there really. Where else would she be. That video made me want to vomit. I really dislike what these guys are doing. I know that it is not all Muslim people. I realise that they are crazy fuqhead fundamentalist loons but I have to say I felt such a dark shadow when I was in Dubai, staying on my own as a woman. The energy was just so so dark, at… Read more »

That is just so horrible and tragic. I really have nothing to say except that I feel really really sad.

21 ppl beheaded. 300 girls kidnapped; who knows how many raped. Over 100 boys slaughtered. Aid workers have heads sliced off.
Yeah this is bad but nuthing like losing your life. & yes, l do appreciate art.
But you cant make art if you are dead.

It’s ALL schitt. We are aware of the many atrocities committed in the name of “religion” or $$ . And i would rather save one human life than a whole city of ancient artifacts. Some vile actions may not include human death – but they are symbolic of this madness we’re living.

pi

I’d say all of them, badlands..

🙁

after all they’ll have to propagate more of their own kind, no sane woman (or man) would join that cult of thousands of deranged men, and we all know it’s every man’s right to have access to a woman’s body (-note sarcasm, not at you ok), how else are they going to multiply? It’s basic war ecology.

Ugh sorry I am getting SO worked up. Gonna take 5 ..
Sigh.

Teenagers can be self-righteous little idiots and get sucked in by a movement that promises no confusing think-for-yourself lifestyle, and has clear aims and a strong us vs them storyline. And it’s an adventure right? Ugh, it makes me feel ill.

That’s right, I did see this news. There is the sanity question..

Is this another side to Saturn in saggitarius? Hardline, rigid belief systems?

Lotus Beatus
Lotus Beatus

Yes, I believe we will see a lot of harsh extremism under Saturn in Sag as ‘believers’ attempt to impose the authority of their own religious systems, esp while the Pluto/Uranus square is still active

Omg. It was the same with the Taliban when the whole Iraq situation blew up in the early nineties – from recollection. There were enormous statues carved out of cliff faces blown to smithereens. I think these people need to take ownership of their own version of being a Muslim. I’m practically non-religious but I’m sure Muslims the world over are appalled at this barbaric interpretation of their ‘book of wisdom’. I cried in the early nineties, I have deep sorrow for this further loss of demonstration of our human kinds’ talent to create beauty being destroyed. Is there any… Read more »

What’s so fuqed is that they’re known as Isis.

I sometimes wonder if that was an intended insult to the Goddess by those who gave the acronym..

I wonder about that a lot, too.

Sphinx

I feel the same people who destroyed the Divine Femme in people’s connection to Nature and Self and Spirit via the Church of the Middle Ages, in fact destroyed actual people too, are knocking about the halls of power, footsteps echoing through time and overlaying a name of the Goddess with horror.. It’s really sad.

The use of a powerful name or symbol and then vilifying it by associating it to an “evil” power… sounds familiar.

i see several names in the press… I thought it was ISIL. and now just IS. I don’t place too much weight on “let’s make a goddess sound bad again” theories. this goes way beyond. These empty-headed, glassy-eyed adherents to a murderous agenda, nothing more nothing less. They lived empty lives and now they have a cause that they can blindly follow, free from the complexities of daily life, “kill anything that isn’t like *this*.” sweet, too easy, let’s go, here’s something I can get my head around for a change. Fuelled by testosterone and overfed egos. I’m still at… Read more »

I think they are fighting it, but are under-resourced. As for the name I thought ISIS stood for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Read that they don’t like being call ISIS at all and prefer ‘Islamic State’ which is enough reason to use the former in my mind. This is a fairly well-researched article (long though!) into their motivations: http://www.theatlantic.com/features/archive/2015/02/what-isis-really-wants/384980/
I was surprised by some of it, and still can’t quite get my head around it.

skarab

Leaving aside whether it’s the vilification of a goddess or not – I don’t know if anything is as simple as what you say. Why do these people commit these atrocities – and i’m not referring to the destruction of mere artifacts – but the killing of people and raping of girls, as badlands pointed out below? It’s all part of the same war. Who is feeding their “overfed egos”? Why and how did they form? who are they benefiting? Who is telling the truth in this filthy war? Who is selling them arms? Who finances them? It’s a tangled… Read more »

Yes I ask the same questions skarab – agree. I don’t think , at a higher level it is simple at all, but at the pointy end of the knife it always looks the same…x

sphinx

Yeah, I see it more like the powers that govern via drugs (the empty heads due to ignorance, poverty, desperation) via arms (due to ignorance, poverty, desperation) are the ones that actively create the poverty, ignorance & desperation in many countries. These people are in the ones in bed with govn’t, with interests in the TPP, gmo and pharma and who also are the ones who have influence over the six or so major media outlets in the world’s propaganda. Like mafia families, except the stakes are higher is the impression I get. Historically dictators first control the media, then… Read more »

Thanx for the link, Sphinx. He makes sense to me. For some reason i’ve been watching a lot of science docs recently (jupe sitting right on my uranus conjunct merc and mars? trans uranus sq my sun?) and more often than not, i get so angry becoz of the rigidity of the so called laws or principles which scientists claim rule everything; and two, becoz science like everything else has been hijacked by the big corps – to make money out of our bodies – so gross. And third, it’s almost as if science was a white, European male invention.… Read more »

Rupert looked into why and it turns out there are heavily funded, media interested skeptic societies that pressure editors etc. to uphold science as they perceive it along with a strictly materialist world view. As he said, good scientists are too busy doing science to be bothered influencing the media.
“i always thought that science was a tool for measuring and explaining things to the rational intellect – and not a religion”, yes, that’s it, it’s not a scientific point of view at all.
I know what I wrote above seems conspiratorial, but hey, moon in scorpio, live the myth. 😉

The game is pretty much exposed here in Southern Europe. Problem is, it’s hard to fight them coz they’ve got all the money, gvts and media working for them. People have woken up a bit too late. Still clinging on… 6th house moon is IDEAL for your line of work!

It is so sad. I’ve been trying to get some distance from it by going all planet of the apes on it but in the here and now this is tragic and so disrespectful of the craftspeople who laboured over these pieces, and the people who maintained them. And why is it always the people who haven’t read the books that want to burn them? Ignorant, arrogant, selfish.

Ishtar in Pisces – 9th House
Trine Venus.

I love Ishtar, she is so full of beans. Warring beans, sexy beans etc.
She is so unashamed, bold. Even if she is worshipped on a blood drenched battle-field it I feel like she is saying, “So what? I am evolving too”.
No guilt, not self-recrimination or self-pity, just move forwards and do better next time.

sphinx

So following that feeling to the astro, I guess Ishtar in Pisces as being a bold with intuition, feelings, philosophy? Piscean spy rather than warrior, with a 9th House mouth. So a chatty spy? I suppose that’s what an actor is.

I had a physical reaction to that.. hands on mouth.. my Mercury/Venus/Saturn in history/image loving Cancer just stunned.
