I’m a Virgo Double Capricorn, a long time subscriber of your awesome site, I live in a groovy Bohemian suburb in the Inner West in Sydney and I have a question about the Mercury Retrograde that I’m hoping you can give me some insight/guidance on.
I’m applied for a new role within my current company. I really like the role I’m doing now and feel very competent in it, but hey – it’s always exciting to take a step up & learn & do new things with great new people and teams. And I also feel you should always try to grab new opportunities when they arise, especially if it has to do with one’s career.
So I’ve applied for the role last week – and I have a very good chance of being offered the role, but I now realize if that happens, the role will probably be offered to me during the Mercury Retrograde (eek!). If I accept the role, which is one I want to do, I don’t think there’s going to be any time to drag out the acceptance until mid Feb when the Retrograde is over.
Any advice / hints on what to look out for / tips on how to stay cool about the situation (or has Merc Rx already got me going bats cause I’m even thinking about it this way?!)
Thanks for your help

Now to your question – it’s a good one and it occurs to people ALL the time. Personally, the only thing that i am absolutely religious about with Mercury Retrograde is buying devices and tech stuff. But even that is sometimes unavoidable. So we don’t freak out and go all dark ages about this stuff. Also, it’s never a good time to go in hot, dogged pursuit of a.w.o.l. people or opportunities during Venus/Mars/Mercury retro.
(F.Y.I. – all these retrograde times are in the Scheduler for a year ahead at any time, easily synched to iCal.)
We have to come at whatever is incoming from a position of power and obviously the Zap Zone ongoing till April is our cue to turn the boss dial up to max. So you’re forcing some upward mobility is a genius move, no matter what insecurity or reflex cringe factor it evokes.
In a way, you’re not signing a contract for anything NEW anyway – it’s a revision of your current position, an improved version of it. The classic bit of Mercury Retrograde fuqery is a black swan offer that flares up out of nowhere and feels urgent. THOSE are what you shun during Mercury Retro-Bats. THIS feels more like a sedate and well considered extension, super logical.
The only precaution would be to triple-check the terms of the contract, performance expectations and so on. Your talk of ‘great new things’ and seizing opportunities etc makes me think you are ULTRA synched with Saturn in Sagittarius. Just finesse the details but hey, who am i to tell a Virgo/Double Cap that.
