In China, No One Wants To Hire Virgos

Filed in VIRGO

Moebius

I get that Mercury is already in its shadowzone (more on that shortly) but this falls into the honestly-w.t.f.? category for sure.

In China, apparently, no one wants to hire Virgos.

I got sent this in an email from my multiple Virgo subscriber Gala Darling this morning – subject was “Whaaaaaaaaaat?”

What sort of demented lunacy is this? China, hello?

I would hire Virgos in a heartbeat. I fantasize about having crack squads of elite Virgos to just, you know, make schizz happen.

Plus this almost does not make sense – i thought the Chinese would be more concerned about (for example) a female Fire Horse or some Chinese Zodiac situation. Don’t trust a Snake to be alone with your spouse sort of thing.

But Virgos?

Any insights?  Is there a sign you would/would not hire?

Obviously, if you were going to go ape on this, you would be looking for a staunch Mars sign, with squares for motivation and trines for stability.

My Triple Leo Intern was great but restless in that fiery way – he is now doing Sports Science. And currently i have a part time p.a/babysitter who is a Capricorn aeronautics engineering student – complete genius but clearly en route to run the aviation industry or something.

Thoughts?

Hmmm I must be broken then cuz I’m Virgo rising (right on the cusp with Libra, if that matters, not sure…) and I think I’d be called the laziest Virgo ever.

I have big dreams, big ideas, definitely think my husband is doing everything the wrong way but not motivated to do it myself…would like to but kinda stuck.

How does one tap into this craxy-amazing Virgo energy you’re all describing? Sounds like Ritalin for the personality!

P.s. Gemini sun in 9th, Pisces moon in 6th, no planets in Virgo.

My Virgo colleague is amazing…she will do the most boring task ever if you ask her nicely and if it will help. Otherwise, you better not be wasting her time. Ain’t no Virgo got time for that!

And if she delegates a job, don’t you dare ask why you should be doing it! She is telling you, you are following orders.

She also understands the first time you show her….and will look at you witheringly if you ask her to show you again.

But no one else is better at keeping our double Fish boss on track.

I can NOT work with Kataka…..or rather, they cannot work with me 🙂 They are way too sensitive to my criticisms. Every other sign is fine with my Cappy boss-ness, but Crabs get all bottom-lip-tremble if I seem even remotely not happy about something they’ve done. There is room for improvement! Do better! Just stop crying and get being better! And I’m super not into Aquaman’s don’t-give-a-fuq work attitude. Fine, just don’t work here then! But when they are into it, we work great cause I can just let them be. Otherwise I can get on with every other sign… Read more »

I’m a Virgo psychic bookkeeper. We Virgos are METICULOUS and also very nurturing. We love to make sure everything is just right and will bend over backwards to make sure people are happy!

Well I’m one of the rare, not punctual, not practical, messy Virgos and I would only hire me for creative and/or nurturing jobs not anything practical that needs to get done (and I really don’t like work much, although if I’m passionate about something I can work like the Chinese Dog that I am) I am always busy, just not working or cleaning (I wish I had the money to pay my sag friend to clean my place as she’s quick and fastidious, go figure!) My Venus in Virgo hubby is much better at changing the nappies thank god! I… Read more »

Ha! I find it’s the sign on the 6H cusp that shows how we work best and how we do our housekeeping. My Pisces 6th house is all “little bit of this, little bit of that, some music, gather up all the random bits and shove them in a cupboard, make a cup of tea, read a book, leave the dishes until moldy…” I can abide my own mess, but god forbid anyone else comes into my space and moves things, then my psychic organization gets all out of whack and my feels are hurt. I can’t even function then…… Read more »

Aaaaah that explains so much about my broken-Virgo-self! I’m Virgo rising and Pisces rules my 6th house cusp too…you described my exact housecleaning ritual! Living with my husband is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. He’s learned not to touch my piles anymore but his strops over the dishes in the sink have little effect on me. Its fine, just use a jam jar for your tea 😉

There are four of us heading up the company I work for. My boss is late Virgo (23/09), I have all the Virgo (21/09), commercial boss (16/09) and my deputy (29/08). The one big problem? None of us are very good at delegating.

An aside: I was supposed to be a late November baby; arrived in September, possibly only so I could get as much Virgo crammed into my chart as possible! (And, uh, definitely a start as you mean to go on thing at work. I am ridiculously punctual)

I have a 10th house Gem sun/merc daughter with Virgo rising and cap moon. She is very much a genius…Phd student in genetics…work-a-holic! She is the one when visiting us that everyone gives all their techno stuff to and expects her to fix 🙂 (and she does)…..the Chinese are missing out big time!!

Ha…good thing I’m not trying to get a job in China I guess. But of all the signs to discriminate against for hiring, why Virgos?? I don’t get it… Most virgos I know, myself included, thrive at work and work really hard. I feel that virgos take it pretty seriously and are always on time, etc. Also they pay attention to the details. I babysit a toddler and at the end everything is all cleaned up even though I’m not asked to do that. I am extremely mercurial (with sun, mars, venus, and mercury in virgo, you understand) and my… Read more »

I think virgos can value the wrong things, don’t develop socially in a normal way, and take a very long time to evolve if they do at all. They hide behind a one dimensional talent or skill and fail to develop other important social skills. It can make them really immature, competitive about things that don’t really matter, and just generally out of sync with the group. It can also make them seem gullible too -like a quick, weird study.

I think Gala Darling is an exception.

What??? ! Some of the most side-splittingly funny and most popular people I know are Virgos! My best friend growing up (most popular, cheerleader, party girl, multi-talented) was a Virgo. And one of my best male friends is Virgo (highly popular, be-loved by all who know him, kind, gentle, highly intelligent, multi-talented). You must have had a bad experience with one Virgo. No sign is perfect but neither is any one sign the trash can of the zodiac with all of the bad traits. Each sign has a wide variety of gifts well beyond what pop astrology offers by way… Read more »

A lot of Virgos have Libra Mercuries. They are often very good at getting along.

And, yes, I definitely see in myself the shadow of sticking to things I can “perfect” versus what actually needs attention. I’m mostly over it now, as are the majority of adult Virgo females I know.

I would hire them to do quality control; and they are also brilliant in magazine production work as attention to detail is the ALL.
But I would not hire a Virgo accountant. If anybody can cook the books well, it’s a Virgo with a bent mind.
By the time you discover he or she has a bent mind, it’s too late….seen it happen more than once.

Yes. And I hear the part about being down on yourself. The self sabotage is not about what you do or don’t do. The real self sabotage begins with how you feel about yourself. If you hate yourself, then you are cruel to yourself and create a torture chamber for the self you hate. If you begin to treat yourself the way you would treat someone you loved, you will create a better world for yourself. I am confident you are worthy of better treatment:)

pi

Ok so YES I live in this place you describe. It’s awful. Please try not to judge yourself on outside criteria. Blue sky writes wise words. I think being led around by our emotions is, when it becomes destructive, a condition that merits some gentle examination. I do know that meditation, mindfulness techniques do help. Maybe check in with your feelings around worthiness and ‘success’ (a slippery concept at best) or recognition. There is a place within you that is steadier and stronger than the little mind-monkey that throws spanners in the works. It lets you act for yourself in… Read more »

I’m waaay too too Sagg for any Virgo compatibility. Do admire their green thumbs and that ARE mutables.
Remember saying to a Leo performer, ‘Stop creating situations’, as there were many dramas around her.
The Scorp DID cause a lot of trouble, below the radar and into the underbelly she dived.
MOre than one person and it’s a party for a Sagg.
Virgos, bit of a grumpy bunch the ones i know, but they are in their 60’s & & 70’s, maybe leave La Viege out of it, and they are just grumpy 🙂

One strange thing about this is that the Chinese usually calculate their birthday based on the lunar calendar. Someone tells you their birthday is on August 28th. So, on August 28th, you say, “Happy Birthday!” and they say, “oh, today’s not my birthday.” So, they should have said, “8th Lunar month 28th day.” The lunar new year is usually in late January or February. They might be inadvertently be discriminating against Libras!

That’s really interesting. I’m trying to understand the difference between a lunar and solar return.

Lol! Had to put my 2 cents in.. My first thought when reading? Yep ..no WAY would I hire a Virgo either! Not if I wanted to create more chi balance globally so I agree with moonbairn. Let’s be clear here – I’d hide a Virgo accountant or designer in a heartbeat! as a sag sun&moon with Pluto Mars Uranus in Virgo …hey, I make things happen – after an inner dialogue of ‘having to get things perfect’ mind you 🙂 whereas with my Virgo Dad, whom I worked with as a teenager in video film production, he drove me… Read more »

Well with my sun, mars and mercury all in Virgo and all in the 10th house I feel like another Virgo in da house would make things too dry and dull. Then again with my moon in Sag, Sag rising in Jupiter and Jupiter in Sag, no fuqin WAY would even consider hiring a Sag PA. We’d never get any thing done! Virgos irritate the hell out of me and I’m surrounded by them, which fact likely means something that is lost on me (Sun in and quadruple Scorpio, Aries rising, Moon Aquarius). God, i have always thought that too. I am fiercely into minimalism when it comes to work. i like to do things right from the word go, so that i won’t have to redo it. That way i can have more free time to play, read, shoot the breeze, lie around like a sloth day dreaming. It really annoys me when people do things sloppily, becoz you just know that more time will be spent undoing it and redoing it correctly. My motto has always been “laziness is the mother of invention”. Don’t know why i should be so vehemently… Read more »

True, whenever i’ve read the chinese papers, there are often articles on how they, as a society, have to start being more creative if they want to get ahead economically and start inventing things rather than copying and refining. They are always comparing the more relaxed western education system to their own rigid, rote learning one.

A lil tangential yet relevant: I once worked for a Virgo herbalist/astrologer who only hired according to star sign they girls she had working in her shop. She tried to mix it up here and there among the caps and virgos by throwing me (a pisces) in to the mix. The earthy gals were grounded methodical and generally too afraid of head-Virgo for the most part. Sina Weibo as a source is like having Facebook as a source. I mean, it can be great to figure out what people think, but no savvy boss would ever consider this.
