Got To Believe We Are Magic
This is the Got To Believe We Are Magic wall clock by Ira Carter – available on Society 6 for $30. I love the sensibility behind it and the absence of numbers. Because our phones have the digits, wall clocks if they are to feel relevant should be merely the hands sweeping around.
And while we on the topic, i DO believe in magic. Not in a woo-woo faith based way but because i have seen it. I’ve seen ghosts, u.f.o.s and visions of deities. Deja Vu, dreams that came true, synchronicity beyond belief and planetary transits that played out to the minute. Sure some astrology or tarot symbols don’t manifest the way you think they will but nor do a whole heap of scientific experiments. Or elections for that matter.
The word “occult” only means hidden. As in the unseen energies that are everywhere. A la Qi, Prana and Dark Matter. It’s not really a matter of who would believe in magic as who the fuq wouldn’t? Magic is real, it is the study of these forces & their language. Salt is magic. Cats are magic. Mugwort (herb of Artemis) is magic. Loads of things, creatures and people are magic.
It’s seeing how your own psyche waxes and wanes in synch with planetary/Sun-Moon influences, having a dream practice because dreams get more lucid, the more you observe them and fenging your household energies up to the max.
It is the careful honing of your intuitive powers so that they guide you and are easy to distinguish from random Muggle propaganda or tedious paranoid residue from before you got powerful.
