gods for the modern age: persephone
wear flowers in your hair and silks on your body. do not let yourself wither. do not let yourself break. tattoo what was done to you onto your skin and turn it into a weapon. rise from the ashes year after year, trailing glory in your train and wearing riches in your crown. you were good, you stayed hidden, but you were tricked and dragged down into the shadows anyway—so by god, make those shadows your own.
A great moment to confront head-on anything that did once threaten to drag you into the shadows. Your natal Persephone is always worth knowing about.
She is where you became Queen – King if you are a male, obviously – but the way there was dark and full of peril. Persephone has many secrets – like a Lilith archetype but less strident and activist, more inward-looking, more contemplative.
Lilith rejected conventional marriage with Adam, Persephone got (at the very least) tricked into marriage with Pluto. There are many different versions of their myths but neither of them is exactly with the patriarchy program.
If you are emerging from an abuse scenario or gazing within to extract any leftover poisonous barbs from your psyche, look to your natal Lilith & Persephone. Triumphant survival is the specialty of both.
