We previously established that these two have a Composite North Node in Leo & that their relationship totally amps this. Apart they are, well, Kanye West and the primary Kardashian spawn – together, a publicity heat seeking missile.
Admission; Unlike Sarah Michelle “Buffy” Gellar, a mouthy Aries who tweeted that she was cancelling her subscription to American Vogue because of this cover, i don’t have a subscription. Once upon a time i loved US Vogue – great writing between all the luxe aspirational schizz and Anna Wintour did a lot to support surrealist photographers.
The last time i looked at it, the whole thing seemed retro – a blur of “must haves,” animal fur coats, anti-depressant ads and panting coverage of It-Girls in Armani swanning around haciendas that they’d done themselves without even a decorator. Always a tie-in with some advertiser. Maybe that is the difference between US Vogue pre and post Pluto in Capricorn. It seems out of synch with the new reality. There is aspirational and then there is delusional.
So heaps of peeps are saying this cover is like the living end for Vogue, that Kanye and Kim “bullied” Anna Wintour – the Scorpio She-Editor upon whom The Devil Wears Prada is based – into putting them on the cover. That seems insane. But she IS having Neptune opposite her Mars in Virgo at the moment. Her precision judgement could be diluted, right?
Because i have nothing against this cover BUT HOLY HARLOTS – it is depicting a Gemini Hip-Hop Mogul and a Libran Reality TV Diva – why the boring picture? Surely this could have been totally tricked up like the Kardashian Christmas Card? Where were the Illuminati accusations? The bling? The hair extensions? The goats? The tights? The pyramids? The U.F.Os? The cultural context? Where was David La Chapelle?
This picture looks like something you would see in a naff frame on someone’s suburban side table in Wife Swap. Seriously w.t.f.
Whilst we are bitching – yes Kate Upton has boobs and a social media profile. She is a Generation Y Gemini swimsuit model with a publicist – it’s not that notable? Then again, this cover features a hash-tagged coverline – what’s that about? Can you click it and it goes somewhere?
L’Wren Scott was another Vogue stalwart. It was sad. I don’t want to go on about it too much. I was quite weirded out by (a) how she did it – her own brand scarf, a door handle, the texting the assistant to come around – she must have totally hated that poor person. The timing – right on the eve of the Rolling Stones concert.
I mean, i could not open a copy of Vogue or similar fash-mags in recent years without reading a profile of L’Wren Scott SO drooling and flattering that it reminded me of what my old newspaper editor used to call “blowjob journalism”. She was deeply in debt at the time of her demise, despite apparently (stories differ) getting help from her Leo music mogul lover, and you wonder how much of that went on veneer, the panting publicity, the marketing. Because that bit of it was impeccable.
She was Taurus – Saturn was on her Neptune at the time of her passing – that IS the Delusion Buster transit but still…Do NOT email to ask if your Saturn-Neptune transit means you will go broke, top yourself and ruin your billionaire boyfriends tour. It will not. But if you were fragile anyway and for whatever reason could not handle a delusions bust, it might be more painful than it would be for someone else approaching it with a “fuq yeah” attitude.
Both L’Wren and the suicide in Sydney of the Aries socialite Charlotte Dawson recently, remind me of an Edith Wharton novel – particularly The House of Mirth but any of them really. Wharton (whose aunts were the original Jones of the “keeping up with the Joneses” cliches) wrote evocatively of beautiful, spirited women perhaps too independent for marriage but without the inner steel, family backing or mental resources required to keep them afloat. They lived beyond their means, relying on magic & their charms, the lust of men that turned to the kindness of others as they got older.
What’s bizarre is that Edith Wharton wrote about her heroines in a time of rigid social structures and pre-feminism. Both these unfortunate women could have pulled out of the situation they were in (financial issues in both accounts) by dialling down the lifestyle, pulling it back to within their means. But that would have meant busting a whole DIMENSION of delusion.
Both these women were having Saturn Neptune transits but i see this primarily as a story of Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008 but now that it is being activated by Mars, Jupiter and Uranus (the Zap Zone), the debt fuelled party spender bender is over and not everyone wants to sober up.
Say what you will about Kim and Kanye – they’re tough as nails – they could be landed on Mars and create some sort of branded empire. The cover should have had them in an old temple with armor giving a big fuq u to the haters, Or was this demure bourgeois pose exactly that?
