Getting It On With The Law Of Awesome

Filed in Astro-Passages

You know the whole Mars-O-Rama (Mars super-powered in Scorpio) and Pluto Direct/Zap Zone effect of the moment is fabulous for giving up crap habits and effecting sensational changes, yes?Β  It’s a major psych-up for peeps bent on an evolution. Exhausting but worth it.

Anyway, i am reading a book called Willpower – Rediscovering The Greatest Human Strength & it’s kind of fascinating. Willpower is back in style – thank you Law of Awesome – and the idea of self-esteem hyping, affirmations and Law of Attraction get short shrift from the authors. They’re more Law of Awesome. Two useful tips from the book that contradict standard thinking…(1) Yes DO get grandiose about a plan – give it an over the top name and attach a high-faluting concept to it.

Eg; Your plan to shift some spare lardage around the middle would become Operation Phoenix and have to do with visceral fat release, core strength of mind + bod and and important chakra work. (2) Heaps of books say not to check in with yourself every day (eg; weighing yourself) as the progress will be so slow that you could get discouraged and it’s neurotic. This book says DO self-track, like a maniac. As that way it takes the guesswork and the angst out of the progress. It augments your will power.

Willpower is totally Saturn-Capricorn-Pluto – ie; the Nowness.

Thoughts?

I visited my former life on Friday. A friend from my married days had a son on my birthday. It was his party. They had a cake there for me too, which was nice. But I realized how much I’ve changed when I listened and watched them. None of their opinions, debates or anxieties have moved from where they were 10 years ago. Only their cars had been upgraded. I don’t know where I’m moving to, but its on.

Looks like I’m bent on evolution! I didn’t mind pluto rx to sextile venus again (Pisces), but what I don’t like is it going back to opposing my Jupiter house 2. That has done terrible things to my money that I have no control over. That has been hell. It is definitely time for it to go direct so that it can get off of my house 2 Jupiter. So that can get back on track. Back to going gluten free. And have been running like never before, use to run a quarter mile then walk a quarter then run… Read more »

awesome! I’m really going though some kind of spiritual awakening. I’m intrigued to try it everyday that I don’t have class the morning so about 5 times a week. Maybe more when I get more use to my schedule.

It’s tough going gluten-free! I try and fail but, am also sick of feeling sick from it.
I wish you luck!!

yeah I was told 3 weeks for real results. the longest I could ever do it was 2 weeks straight. Lately I only have one gluten thing a week. Tonight it was a beer. ha. looks like I’ll be having some kale later to help me detox that. lol

Yes to the law of awesome.. as individuated and determined by the self and it’s desire for expression and experience in it’s lifetime. No to the law of ‘the secret’ … not to be confused!! Chiming in for an important distinction. The secret does not actually divulge the ‘secret’ perse. It’s a hook that should have offered endlightenment but offered a brilliant marketing scheme. Apologies to any I offend with this but I maintain it. it’s about creating ..and it shares some stuff, sure but it shuts up just short of offering the key to the door.. rather just walks… Read more »

I’d like to propose an even more radical approach. I’ve found that the harder I try to create things for myself, pull things together for myself, or just attract things to myself the more inward the whole thing became. It was only when I started seeing that the motive to benefit other is actually the most brilliant thing you can do for yourself that my life really started to go the way I wanted. For instance, when you are genuinely thrilled for the good stuff that happens to others, it’s almost like it has happened for you. And then, somehow,… Read more »

Hi Cygnette, thanks for sharing πŸ™‚ That’s great that you’ve found something for you that works.. that’s the key.. creating something ‘you’ love and then getting your juice/qi/higher flow of source power/whatever from there not from a place that is inauthentic to you. That’s the first thing to know .. ourselves and what we’d love to create. And yep, sometimes that can elude us…lots πŸ™‚ And yep, sometimes we tell ourselves a bunch of things we’d ‘love’ to avoid going for the thing that we know we really want but don’t actually go toward. But it’s going to be unique… Read more »

Great points Scorched Earth :-). This is probably a bigger conversation than a few lines on a blog but I suspect we are on the same page in many respects. I will add though that there is absolutely nothing about this that means you avoid going for your dreams. I’m currently pursuing the biggest dream of my life. It took me forever to take the risk to do it but it was motivated out of wanting to make things better for others. Doing it purely for self gain was just never enough to make me take the leap. So yes,… Read more »

Yes to your ideas as now I get them a little better and we are surely coming from similar perspectives.

Deliberately trying to keep this a little brief as I could tangent and go on.. and maybe on lol.

wow, good on you recalcitrant (I love that word by the way πŸ™‚ ) that’s an awesome approach and one that I like too …it’s helpful i reckon to keep almost everything the same and change one routine at a time – like, eat the same way you were, just change the exercise habits – and then – do you find, too, that as you start to feel and look better that your appetite for less-healthy food tends to fade? so the other changes happen on the back of the most important one and there’s fewer wagons to fall off… Read more »

I reckon do what works for you πŸ˜€ I have all sorts of weird food intolerances and can put on weight walking past a patisserie !! I have to keep my carbs mega low and my diet completely clean or I blow up like a balloon. Weighing myself every day is a really good way to track the effect that food is having on me. I also take all my measurements twice a week, including my arms and legs. After doing this for a long time, it all becomes grist to my mill – I don’t beat myself up, I… Read more »

I agree Recalcitrant, weighing yourself daily is a good way to get an eating disorder for many people. (Not all, as per DTs method of not reacting).

I haven’t weighed myself for twenty years. During some of those years I chose to become thin and did become thin. I have Aries Rising, so if I want to do something, I just do it. I sure as hell would not get validation from a stupid piece of metal with numbers on it though.

This is true! Suddenly my willpower amped up over the weekend and today I started the same diet i did “successfully” 18 mth ago and yes packed it all back on. It has been a shocker of a year but I am determined to lose the unwanted visceral fat – my dr says to. So glad my stars have aligned. Thanks Mystic.

Yes, just realised Mars is pretty much on my Moon…

As a hypnotherapist I think the power of the subconscious makes will-power look like it’s crack-head cousin.

On totally separate note, after seeing photos of Kourtney pulling her baby out herself online I just became a Kardashian fan.

Love this! It’s exactly the approach I use to get my Mars in Pisces butt off the couch and achieve my goals. I’ve been shunned by pretty much every friend who read ‘The Secret’ and bought into the whole new age ‘ask, believe, receive’ bullshit cult. The few that succeeded with this philosophy were smart & hard working enough to get what they want anyway (or maybe just having a fuqing good Jupiter transit) – the rest are still sitting around feeling like personal & spiritual failures because they’ve spent all this time and money on LOA books and courses,… Read more »

exactly. it’s like a pyramid scheme of laziness. Get educated, get informed, get moving, get connected. This makes you money. Few have the aura to pull in the universal will against all the other majors. Everyone successful I know did it by working at what they wanted not self help books.

I find that the best way to work your Will on the fabric of the Universe is to use the wriggly pink things on the end of your arms and the grey porridge between your ears… If you put the same effort, time and money into learning a new skill as you do into buying and reading “Wishing” books, at the end of that time, you’ll have a new skill, rather than a pile of now second-hand books. ps yes to will power and determination. but I don’t know if that was ever out of style, ya know? the anti-control-freak in me recoils at the constant self tracking but I ind that breaking down the ‘path to improvement’ into tiny daily steps, and truly being in that moment of ‘doing the right thing’, chipping away at the old into the new tends to work . baby steps otherwise it seems too far away (for me at least). Then add the sun-lit goal horizon, infused with regular visualisation-contemplation of how GREAT I will feel to being in that place… Read more »

milleunanotte

You have it. Have you ever considered the tremendous willpower it takes to be addicted? To continue doing something against commonsense, nurturing, self loathing, peer approval and joy? That denotes sheer willpower.

Thus, knowing the nature of your willpower, can you turn it around?

How is believing something fabulous will happen, thus attracting it to happen, and the power of your will any different?
Willing something in to happening and believing something in to happening seem the same thing to me.

ram-madam dingdong
ram-madam dingdong

I’ve always believed that the power of your will is the ‘essense’ of your creative force, & the right use of your will – the clear, conscious choices that you make day to day; as opposed to a mere belief that something fabulous will happen are two vastly different mindsets. ‘Willpower’ aka, ‘Law of Awesome’ & the ‘Right use of Will’ are the key!

ram-madam dingdong
ram-madam dingdong

.. bluesky thinking & rosy affirmations alone wont get you there. You have to melt that blockage (wether it be fear of success; or self-sabotaging beliefs about not being good-enough; etc) by becoming aware of it, naming it, teasing out it’s origins (often to its childhood roots), acknowledging it’s need to be heard, nursing its fears, allowing the rage to come up, & then processing the fuq out of that rage (pillows are good for that!) Rather than denying the existence of a complex & important knot of emotions – which, when left alone to fester, will continue to stand… Read more »
