Fine, enough: I get it – no more Finding My Goddess Guy.

Although – I can’t recall where i saw this soz but i read a hilarious blog entry in which a girl spotted the Finding My Goddess Guy at some Whole Foods Cafe and she confronted him.

Anyway, to antidote any brain-toxins and/or Bad Guru Syndrome generated by that post, here is (a) a beautiful picture of the young Paul Newman with puppies (!) and (b) the Weekly Horoscopes for the week from Saturday posted.

Weird where’s the picture of PN gone? I don’t even look at the pictures of the hunks – that shit bores me to tears frankly, nothing to do with sexism or objectification boycotts i have a venus mars saturn thing in my chart that seems to be the catalyst for that quirk. But I know I’m the odd one out so I do the libran diversion thing and search for something else to look at when all that’s going on – I like the pictures of weird houses (uranus/sun conjunct the IC) and the art ones (venus conjunct mercury in… Read more »

For what it’s worth (and I realise it may not be worth much ’cause I’m not a regular here), what I get a lot out of reading the posts is not always what people are specifically saying but the general “feel” the emanate. Despite, it being an internet interaction without faces etc I do believe people’s vibes are quite distinct and clear so if ever so occasionally I see something written that when dissected appears politically incorrect, sexist etc my default position is to give them the benefit of the doubt because they mostly vibe well. There has only been… Read more »

Is it Alain Delon? His appearance changed a lot over the years but this looks lot like him when he was quite young.

And david, you’re not making sense. You’re saying men shouldn’t be objectified but you want the freedom to show admiration and attraction to the beautiful women in posts. Then getting upset when the female commenters don’t do the same for the women, and upset again when they show attraction to the males.

Make up your mind.

And again, admiring photos of men or women is not on a par with the Find-A-Goddess scmuck’s dictation of how he wants his sacred whore to behave and look. Not in the ball park, although Charles couldn’t make that distinction.

davidl

Beyonce was the first time I called any female subject “hot”. Actually I called her a goddess. 1 in 100’s of posts. That was also the first time I raised the issue of the women here objectifying males, 1 comment in 100’s . I dont like it at all, I don’t do it….but raise the subject and whammo ! What don’t you understand ?

Just read the comments as if the male ones are female voices and the female ones are male voices. Its interesting.

Ex acolyte, I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully I can show some leadership on this. I despise sexism, and any kind of bigotry or negative stereotyping against anyone at all. I also don’t want to be fighting some pointless gender war. I can’t speak for other women, but feminism to me is about equality and about opposing abuse and exploitation — of anyone. I admit there have been a few occasions on the site where I’ve seen a comment negatively stereotyping men, and I haven’t said anything, and I’ve regretted it. I might suggest to any of the men commenting… Read more »

Did we all read there’s a goddess seeking guy who wants to horrendously exploit women? That guy appears to be serious. There are some important points made above on the debate about sexism. I agree UV. I for one would not be reading, visiting or posting on a site where there is a ‘man-bashing auditorium’ going on. I am strongly dead against oppressing and objectifying men/women. Objectifying is not always a ‘negative’ comment. Its a bit like reverse racism..you know…jews are good with money (I wish) afro americans males have sporting prowess..etc.If say, I met you, and commented to someone later about you , “she has great tits..oh ? she has a phd in particle physics ? oh, yeah, she’s clever., but lets not forget she’s got great tits…now some women could take that as a compliment, some would be quite appalled. Objectification is problematic for sure. At what point does admiring someone’s attractiveness become sexist and exploitative? Perhaps the offensiveness boundary is fluid, depending on the individual. Again I won’t speak for all women, but I’d like to think I can express attraction for a handsome man. In real life make sure he’s receptive/consenting to it before I started flinging myself all over him or making lewd suggestions. A courtesy that has NOT been paid to me on a number of occasions, including at work. When it’s a picture on the site of a very well paid footballer or actor, model… Read more »

I’m feeling very worried. You know like when your spider sense completely fails you? Or when you are in the middle of the ocean diving and you can’t tell at all if you’re going up or down? I’m in a relationship and generally happy 99% of the time, and it’s (the relationship) is kind of kicking my bottom and telling me I need to go get my graduate degree….

But at the same time I have no idea if I’m risking it all for nothing. I really don’t know what my Saturn lesson is..

nat

I think your Saturn Lesson may be to realise that things are not necessarily an “either – or” scenario as you describe above. Why does doing some study have to risk your relationship? I think the Saturn lesson is to learn how to find better balance between important things (eg. things for you and things for your relationship). Perhaps it is possible to make time and space for all your priorities? As Saturn is involved I would look at new ways of scheduling your time or budgeting your $ and energy.

misslibrakismet

If I do some study, the financial cost I’m bearing (because I’m taking a two year no pay leave) is a lot. I had been prepared to bear it maybe one or two years from now, but am moving it earlier so that university of study and place which luh-ver resides can be the same. I am excited to study because I really want to, just now I’m not quite sure if there was no him, would I want to apply for the coming semester? Answer probably not, because I’d want to save more money first. But in a way,… Read more »

When you don’t know if you are upside down in the water you blow bubbles. Then you follow where the bubbles go. If it’s in snow, you drool and observe which way the drool flows. I would suggest doing the equivalent of that with your life. 😀

I wouldn’t take it personally if people take it too seriously. The dude is actually so sad you can’t help but laugh. The arrogance, warped sense of history, and pathetic endless search for “perfection”…I bet he’s one of those people who sits next to you on public transit and you say ‘please don’t sit here’, then it becomes ‘please don’t talk to me’, then it becomes ‘I’m posting this soundbyte later, too classic’.

I think he is the perfect case study for this upcoming Venus-Saturn time you’ve described. Let’s get real.

Also, Paul Newman with dogs is too much cute. 🙂

I’m liking most of Saturn in Libra. It’s been much easier to say “F-U” to almost everyone who gives me grief (not that there’s ever been a huge barrier for me) and my job situation is awesome and getting more awesome by the day. Romantic relationships have been crap though but Saturn was never known for much between the sheets partying. :/ You can’t win them all. But in general, I can’t complain. Things have been better than Saturn in Virgo or Leo for sure. I look back to 2005-2009 and I’m like I’m glad I’m not there anymore.

I hope you’re joking Charles, and not about your legs. Surely you can see the difference between a whackjob, pervert mysogynist, and Paul Newman, one of the greatest actors, also known for his charity work and long, loving and faithful marriage to Joanne Woodward. I think what Charles is attempting to get at is the fact that we harp on perverted Finding My Goddess, and then turn around and “perv” on Paul Newman. Which is just as ridiculous as comparing wonderful Paul Newman to psychotic Finding My Goddess… First of all, this blog is primarily female, and presumably we all have pulses. thats not very nice Cm, we are obviously around to agree with all your views and stroke your egos, hmmmm…don’t think so. You should be encouraging more males to this blog, not chasing them off. Catsmeow

It isn’t about stroking egos, it’s just about not being hypocritical. I was perfectly fine with men being around the blog. It’s the complaining that we don’t praise women enough and praise men too much that gets tiresome. Which stumps me honestly, because you’d think that men would find our appraisal of men to be encouraging. Why criticize us for loving you guys? Seems odd to me.

Personally I am not gender bias so it honestly doesn’t matter to me how many men or women are at this blog. People are people and they’re all of contribution. Just as the actors and actresses Mystic chooses to post about. I could have missed something in the past, but as far as I can tell it’s been the men who have brought this up, and not the women. I don’t like things to be biased or a war of the sexes, which is why I addressed it. I don’t think it’s an over-reaction, I’m just point out that there… Read more »

Well as a woman, I’m not here to stroke egos and agree with everyone either. Charles had a go at the Leo Socialite in the other thread, accusing her of perving on the same level as the find the Goddess putz, when all she did was express a preference to see a handsome, fit young man rather than an old nasty failed guru. Moralizing much? And over what? A woman having sexual desire? What century is this again? And it’s hardly in the league of the overtly controlling and exploitative inclinations of Mark Emerson. And was that “woof woof” meant to reference a female dog, aka a bitch? ‘Cause that certainly isn’t nice either, david. I call it how I see it and shan’t apologize for it. You think your defense of Beyonce was apt, and if you want to bypass all we had to say, within reason, in favor of her “hotness” then fine. According to that thread a woman’s value, by your standards, has to do with her hotness and nothing else? I used to post here on a fairly regular basis under a different name, until about 18 months ago. I quit my subscription to the site because of the innate, incomprehensible sexism exhibited by some of the women on here. You’d better believe it sistahs. The main reason was down to the fact that some of you, in uncomfortable relationships with your exes, were continuously posting about how men from a failed relationship were bound not to pay maintenence, bound to cut corners in co-parenting, and therfore all men were lazy, untrustworthy bastards. It IS a shame that you felt you were being told you were worthless etc. Nobody was ever directing those comments at you, per se. If your situation resonated to what some women were saying & you came away thinking it was being said about you, then that is your issue. It’s unfortunate that you came away thinking that. 0.o I have always found Paul Newman to be one of the most heart-meltingly beautiful creatures ever – and really I am just talking about his face – at all stages of his life too.
