Sun Sign Survey: How Do You Reboot?

Filed in Horoscopes

How do you motivate yourself when you’re at a low-ebb? And, does it fit with your Sun Sign or more like your Mars Sign?

For instance; Aries peeps don’t usually admit to a low ebb. They’re never lost though occasionally unsure of their precise location. Cancerians do well seeing to their security and comfort zone and then they can calculate their way out of any mess. Leos really do need to deal to their looks first and then, once coiffed, all can be solved. Scorpios get the intelligence they need, however they get it. Don’t ask. Aquarians zip into one of their alternative dimensions for perspective and Pisceans ask one of their Ascended Masters for advice.

You get the idea? Does your major motivational/reboot mode fit your Sun Sign?

  1. Music can fix almost anything. (Libra moon) I get in my car, crank up, and drive. (Sag Ascendant) If I’m not feeling better in a few minutes, I drive near a body of water, maybe even get out and walk or sit outside for a moment. (lots of planets in Capricorn; need to be outside)
Sometimes indulging myself in a nice dessert or drink helps. (Libra, Sag)
If all else fails, I nap because that’s sometimes the only way we Aquarians turn off our thoughts.

  2. depends on how serious things are, but for general melancholy or shitiness, cleaning is the bomb. Cannot attribute this to Virgo (unless my mum counts). And de-cluttering (definitely cannot attribute this to my mum!). Clean and de-clutter so that everything sparkles and feels fresh again (includes opening all the doors and windows, no matter how chilly). Then make a list of all the other shit that needs to get done. Start doing it.
If things are really bad, sleep. Sleep some more. Sleep again. Wake up, notice how the place has gone to seed. Clean. De-clutter. Make lists. Do.
Actually, all this is coupled with isolation, and thinking. lots of thinking. and sometimes muttering to myself.

  3. Pushing for structure in daily schedule helps me to re-boot for my Moon in Cap. Re-reading a favorite book for my Gem Sun and water, even washing dishes, for my Pisces rising.

  4. In order of ease of accessibility rather than effectiveness
    – stay home, lie on the couch, talk to noone except the cat, watch the trees and the clouds
    – red wine
    – all of the above with the stereo cranked
    – get in some water
    – go visit my favourite bar tender
    – go for a drive, to the beach

Talking to my cat always works though. She’s an angel cat.

  5. Back in the city for the w/e after a week at the beach with besties
& their kelpies, reboot heaven. Bought back 2 baby boy fancy rats, cream
hooded with ruby red eyes (not pink), Jack & Henry that i couldn’t resist at
the local village pet shop. Did resist the 3 shitzu puppies, 5 rabbits & 2 ragdoll
kittens. They kept me awake most of the night with their antics, feel like a washed
    out ‘new mother’.
Returning for another week, so the boys will be travellers like me.

It was Sweetpea’s birthday April 1, so if she comes on line, here’s to
another 365 & 1/4 days circling the Sun. You are looking good girlfriend πŸ™‚

  6. Cancer sun, libra moon…
I have found that merely by unplugging the phone, insuring it doesn’t ring, gives me a sense of being in a protected space that I have asserted my control over.. and the intent to give me fully to myself, without any chance of interference and intrusion of others. I stay home with the curtains closed, creating a cave like retreat and will go out only for a walk if I feel the need to stretch my legs…otherwise I do yoga and meditate… Living in the country I can be outside and take a long walk without seeing anyone…
This ALWAYS clears my head and gives me a new lease on life…

  7. Scorpio Sun – disappear, alone, usually into an abyss of internet/info collection/stalking/internet TV streaming escapism or Mars in Sag (Conjunct Neptune) literal disappear into mega fantasy land or actual run away travel time. Aries ASC does admit low ebb, usually tells anyone who will listen (Twitter, Facebook, blog, here, whatevs) in outspoken manner.

    • Oh and something, never sure exactly what, maybe just genetics, finds massive satisfaction in something booze/opiate/benzo related *le swoon*!

      • Can defs relate to disappearing into the wide world of web to escape mundane reality. Was all excited the first time I visited the metaphysical Adyar bookshop and compared it to the topics I’d type into Google lol — shows my youth mees thinks..

My Gem Mars likes to talk talk talk in a effort to make sense of things and come to some conclusions. The other person listening is optional as it seems to work either way…. hmm, usually on those closest to me have to put up with this though.

  8. Depends. For a tricky problem that I need to get my head round, a walk somewhere green. That’d be my Virgo sun. For tiredness and stress, shiatsu – Cap moon. But for motivation when I’m feeling down, nothing beats putting on some music and trying on clothes in front of the mirror. I’ve got a feeling Mystic calls it the Tao of Vanity…Leo rising, works for me.

    • That’s really interesting Plum. I hadn’t thought about the different types of low ebbs and how you try different things at different times. I agree re trying on clothes even if it is just to clean out my wardrobe.

      • ha yes, a whole catalogue of gloom! Just thinking it through some more, I can see how my different sides both cause and respond to different types of low ebbs – problems to analyse = Virgo, work stress = Cap, lack of fun and/or attention = Leo

        • I think it’s great. It encouraged me to look at how I cope with different situations when there’s a low ebb. It really expands your ability to manage stress and anxiety and to potentially see patterns.

Each of our astro attributes give us strengths and weaknesses and it’s good to be aware of how they interact and to find a way to use all of them. You’ve raised an excellent point about the cause and response effect. In a way sometimes astro influences feed into each other. I should know about that I have 3 fixed signs- leo rising, aqua moon and taurus sun. Can get me into all sorts of trouble…

Thanks for your sharing your strategies Plum πŸ™‚

  9. Virgo Sun
    Virgo Mars

Clean, clear, walk and clear mind. Exercise.

But, also brood and sulk Scorpio Rising. Escape into daydreams and fantasies Pisces Moon and fix my makeup and hair Leo MC.

But, I keep busy, unless I am thoroughly exhausted and sick then I revert back into sulking, and daydreaming again.
    Rinse and repeat.

  10. Walking, yoga and sleeping helps. Being out in the sunshine and smelling roses in the garden. Playing with my dog in the yard or a walk with her at the beach. I find water and vitamins help if i’m desperate. I also love to read when I have the energy but mostly inspirational non-fiction or more astrology. I also write to my friends. I cry a lot.

Leo rising, taurus sun, aqua moon, venus gemini, mars taurus. I would say when i’m at a really low ebb sunshine is the best as is my dog. However, too much time alone at times sends me crazy. Also, being near water as much as possible to balance out my lack of water in my chart is vital for me.

    • At the moment i’m reading Oogy (Larry Levin) and I have the Animal Whisperer (Trisha McCaugh). I really love animal books- Christian the Lion was an all time favourite. I also liked Rupert Sheldrake’s ‘Dogs that know when their owners are coming home’, however, it did get a little technical in the middle and I stalled on that one. I also liked ‘Tell me where it hurts’ Nick Trout. I also love ‘The dog who loved cheerios and other tales of excess’ (Johnson). I have others but it would get boring. That’s generally what I read if there’s a low ebb because even though those books make you cry at times there is usually something amazing that comes out of it.

      • LOVE Rupert Sheldrakes’ “Dogs that know when their owners are coming home”!!!! Yes, itawy, those books get my eyes leaking too but for good reasons, well, mostly.
You might like “The Man Who Talks To Dogs” by Melinda Roth. I read it in one go in a few hours, sobbing, being utterly embarrassed to be human, then the man of the title redeems our species through his actions.

        • UPV I had a look at that book by Melinda Roth and I think I will get it. It’s something that I never get tired of reading about. I also want to get back to Rupert Sheldrake- i’ve had it for years and only got half-way through i’m looking at it on the shelf now. The dog on the cover is soo cute- he looks like a teddy bear.

        • Also, ‘Dog stars’ by Sherene Schostak and Wendy Lam is fantastic. You can look up your star sign and that of your dog. I looked up the moon sign for my dog, too, and it fits perfectly.

    • Sunshine, garden, dogs… tick tick tick! Plus yoga & reading… Top combo WP. I love dogs – we have 3 brown Kelpies at present. I drove into town last night and took the littlest Kelpie, Sweetie, with me. She lay on the front seat and rested her front paws and her chin on my leg. How good is that feeling? Warm, trusting, calm. Everything is OK. She sometimes sits backwards looking out the rear windscreen. Cracks me up. I love seeing the silouhette of a dog’s head in a car with its humans. Of all the creatures we have domesticated its the dogs that really got on board with the transport idea. Sure, we’re going get in that thing… OK great, lets go!

      • nat the way you described your car trip was just beautiful. With the paws and chin on your legs- it’s heaven. My dog always manages to find a place to rest her chin… Your dogs sound lovely- like part of the family. They’re really uplifting creatures each with their own personality.

I also love to see dogs in cars although I do worry sometimes about the ones that poke their head out the window! I saw a bull dog in someone’s front passenger seat the other day with his tongue out, lapping up the sunshine. Generally though dogs look so comfortable in the car and you really get a sense of ‘see, I didn’t get left at home this time’. There’s always an adventure to be had. They are happy to go anywhere as long as it is with you and as long as they can get out to mark their territory at some point. My dog is a bichon frise and so she has a little ‘fro and you can just see the outline of the top of it when she sits in the car- it’s so cute.

You’re right about dogs and transport. When I say ‘do you want to go in the car?’ my dog cries out and does a little dance. You see, she is a Sagittarian and loves outings and travel in general. She does have a pisces moon though so is very clingy and shy. I often think she is psychic and I feel like I understand her quite well. It’s a beautiful connection to have with no words exchanged.

Thanks for sharing that nat I can imagine what that would’ve looked like. So lovely.

        • little ‘fro outline… hee hee. How gorgeous! Great that you know her astro. Yes they sure are part of the family. Agree totally about the connection with no words exchanged. It is precious and so fortifying. We live in the bush and it is so nice to go walking with the dogs as I do most mornings. No leads and we just head off together. They love it so much.

I know the Sun Sign of 2 of our Kelpies. Sweetie is a Sagittarian – absolutely loves running. She has a look of absolute, pure joy on her face when she runs across the front paddock. She is also very loyal and affectionate, so must have some other influence. Of the 3 she is the fiercest and most defensive. Not trusting of other people for some time after meeting them. Cancer or Scorpio Rising?

Our oldest Kelpie, Reggie, is a true Cancerian home-body. He has never run away from home. He must have something theatrical rising as he is a drama queen, never rolled in anything remotely smelly (screws up his nose at bad smells), hates walking on wet grass and when he was a pup he used to like looking at himself in the mirror or at his reflection in the oven door! Leo much?

I found Moss, my beautiful old girl, on the highway so have no idea what her birthdate is. But I am very sure she is a Taurus. Loves her bed, very graceful looking and well put together, just loves her food, never in a hurry, loves her simple routines…

They share Kelpie traits but are vastly different in personality. Yes, they are our family. I could go on and on…

Did you see the dog they found floating on debris in the sea off Japan today? Little love. Bless his little heart x

          • Yes I did see the dog that was rescued off the coast of Japan! I posted that story to my facebook πŸ™‚ I thought I saw that dog in the news at least a week ago. So glad he or she was rescued and in good health.

I can definitely see sagittarian and pisces traits in my dog. I’m not sure of her rising sign but I think it could be pisces or libra. She also loves her food but is only 5kg because she runs everywhere with energy to burn. You should see her go berserk at the beach- she doesn’t know which way to run! She goes in circles for a bit then she runs up to me and I chase her (she loves that) and then she stops to sniff. Only thing is she refuses to go in the water and doesn’t like to get her feet wet. It’s priceless seeing her run free on the sand, though. I’d love to video it but she’s too fast. It’s pretty funny because she is a bichon frise and she looks delicate, she is emotional (gets the watery eyes and cries sometimes), she is very pretty, always goes to the parlour (but I let her get into the dirt if she wants to because that’s more fun), she prances instead of walks but then she loves her ball games and loves to play and go running. It’s not what people expect… She has a heart of gold. My sagittarian is loyal and affectionate, too. Maybe it’s a canine thing πŸ™‚

When you described Sweetie getting in the car I thought she sounded like my sagittarian! Interesting re not trusting people straight away. Definitely a cancer trait or suspicious scorpio… It’s fascinating isn’t it?

Reggie will never run away from home- that’s beautiful. A dog that loves the comforts of home can generate so much positive energy/ warmth. ‘Something theatrical rising’ lol I needed a good laugh. I’m leo rising and I find that so funny. I love your description of leo ‘looking at reflection in the oven door’ πŸ™‚ I think you might be right about that!

Your rescue dog, Moss, is probably so happy to be part of your family and taurus sounds like a nice fit. I imagine she would get along well with a cancerian and sagittarian. I think it’s a big deal when anyone adopts a stray dog. It’s a truly wonderful thing to do. You should be so proud.

I don’t think many people would have time to do this but i’ve had a quick look and have found some similarities/connections in my dog’s chart to our immediate family’s charts. I don’t know her time of birth but you can look at the signs of the planets and there are similarities there.

Thanks so much for your reply UPV I love hearing about other people’s pets it truly is uplifting. It’s made my day πŸ™‚

        • I wish I knew my lil boy’s sun sign…. He was a pound boy. All that’s clear is he’s a Basenji cross. He’s such a velcro dog, though I think it’s to do with having been abandoned rather that his astro.
My lil girl is Venus-ruled – Libra sun, Taurus moon. She IS beautiful! And funny how other people comment on that too. She was what’s called (horribly…) “a breeder reject”.
They ask of me to be the best I can be. They keep me here and in very low moments the reason I’m still here because I take my responsibility for them very seriously.
The best meditation is to simple be with them. πŸ™‚

          • Hi. Sorry about the above UPV. I got a bit confused.

It can be hard to find out birth dates and times for animals. I am grateful that I paid attention to my dog’s birthdate because I didn’t know that much about astrology back then.

Aww, a velcro dog! I have just finished reading Oogy and he was abandoned and found in a very bad way and he always needed to know he was part of the family and was involved in everything. I think you’re right about your little boy. It’s almost like they need to do everything in their power to make sure they will be fed, loved, and that someone will always come home to them. It would be so hard for them to build trust but i’m sure it does happen.

My your little girl would be beautiful πŸ™‚ I wonder what breed she is…A breeder reject πŸ™ that’s awful. Though I do know my dog was very small and, not that I ever would, but she could never be a show dog. Is that what you mean about your little girl?

You’re so right about them asking you to be the best you can be. My dog has never asked for more or too much. She has made me a better person and I have definitely come to see the world in a different way. She looks after me and I look after her. She is always telling me to go to bed… Absolutely a reason to still be here! I feel the exact same way about my dog.

Thank you for your reply UPV. I’ll blame the confusion on mercury retro- still very embarrassing 😳 Lovely to hear about your dogs, too. I think it’s wonderful that you have rescued a dog it’s both a privilege and something to be proud of.

            • Fuggedaboudit. πŸ™‚ No need to be embarrassed!

Re: my lil girl, she was the “wrong color”…yep, smth as stupidly arbitrary as that….and to make it worse, her coloration was too solid. Bah humbug… She’s a Brittany. And considering the provincial flag of Brittany IS black & white, for the life of me I can’t understand why in some countries a B&W Brittany is considered “unacceptable”.
Happy new moon with your furry heartbeat at your feet!

  11. Used to be I’d get drunk, eat chocolate, watch tv, then have a bath, give myself a deep and meaningful talk therapy session with reality testing if poss, meditate, then give myself a pep talk, give someone else a pep talk, break down and talk to others, tell them to fuq off, then go clothes shopping followed by ignoring the whole situation, getting on with shite and being in the ‘now’ but feeling in the ‘then’. Repeat (altering order).

It was quite tiring and happened quite frequently.
    Leo Sun, Virgo Mars.

  12. I’m on a major rebooting journey of sort, started Tuesday/Wednesday by finally getting a proper acupuncture (course of 10) from my amazing Chinese traditional doc.
Had a Reiki appt. for the first time today, was good, felt tingles, and connected with the practitioner.
    Monday have a naturopath appt.

Virgo sun, Scorp rising, Pisces moon – usual reboot is to isolate self in my lil sanctuary of a unit (Pisces moon in 4th) and then the full-on Scorpiness comes out, whether seething, screaming, totally silent stealth brooding or punching things to let the energy out usually finished by ob-comp data searching of any kind.
Virgo sun then organizes all the data gleaned by the Scorpy ob-comp “activities” and the insights/feelings brought on by the Pisces moon. Some sort of cleaning, Rambo-style cleaning, then commences, coz it allows me to attack smth and also solve dirt/chaos/whateves at the same time. πŸ™‚

  13. Gem sun, Cap moon

Talk it out or write it out – lately poetry more than prose. And mind map – what’s bugging me, what are my options, how do I make them happen?

And exercise … have to drag myself to it, but after an exercise/music/get lost in my head session feel so much better.

  14. I do both Aqua sun & kataka moon. Use music & a nice feed, rip out/switch off all incoming communication. Or go out bush with the dog & just be.

  15. Sagg Sun, Aqua rising, Scorpio Mars

Very true to sun and rising, not so much with the mars from what I can tell. My reboot is to go out or hang out with friends (loaded 11th house probably helps this, too). If I’m on my own then walking/pacing/jogging and either talking out loud or (if in public) doing some serious thinking. I tend to like to do my pacing/walking in crowded places like the city or shopping centres, I get more from the ‘busy’ vibe than a quiet one, generally.

  16. Pisces sun, cap moon.

I read somewhere that our 4th house is how we reboot. Libra rules my 4th. I have to say if my home is a shambles, it really does affect my psyche. So, here’s some ways I reboot:

    – make my living space beautiful via guerrilla house keeping
    – an outing to the shops – not nec spending squillions but browsing, researching, soaking up Nice Things That I Might Buy One Day

    on a deeper level:
    – Getting lost in music and / or art reverie
    – getting back to nature, lots of oxygen in system
    – giant, long, rambling bush walks, swimming at the beach, cuddling furry animals, yoga (if less time)
    – large amounts of time dedicated to day-dreaming of all types (notebook at hand for ideas that emerge) until my subconscious is happy that it has been given some air
    – major time alone
    – not living on someone else’s timetable – having control over my own time, doing what I want when I want, makes a big difference to my happiness & energy.
    xx

    • if I had to pick just one of these things, I would say going to the beach – when I am most fried, beach wins every time regardless of climate.

    • Very nice list UP. All within your control & easy reach. I hate to admit that I haven’t swum in the sea once this summer. Been for a few beach walks but the weather and the water quality have terrible. Apres Easter perhaps…

    • I have hardly been in the water at all this summer. wrong! so wrong! I feel like an alien. Before I moved away from the beach it was every single day, for a run or meander if not a swim / surf. Nothing like immersing oneself in cool, luscious refreshing clean aqua-coloured sparkly salt water to ease the mind is there …..

  17. i started my first take on theta healing today – I am having a soul makeover/reboot. will let you know how it goes. using dark moonie to do some serious soul cleaning

  18. virgo rules here – I have very cyclic energy. mind racing a million miles an hour. grounding is rebooting. so its good food and yoga. oh and a hot bath full of oils. pampering y skin and hair a close second to water/vitamin hit

  19. Libra sun and moon with Leo rising

Nothing beats a “beauty night” on a Thursday and then party time on Friday night – how Libra/Leo is that?!

My beauty night routine is exfoliation, fake tan, hair treatment, home facial and face mask, foot scrub and home mani + pedi. It takes HOURS but I wake up on Friday feeling on top of the world.

and the other day when I was feeling down I texted a fellow Libran with my woes and she wrote back ‘manicures and cocktails?’

  20. I’m agreeing with the hairdresser mechanism.

Also, my four planets, inc Sun, in 10th house Sagg copes by going out with friends and drinking cocktails.

If the rebooting need is fed via my staurn/Moon conj in 11th house Capricorn then it’s reading my kindle in bed with my cats.

And dead sea salts with essential oil bath is good – I think I learnt from MM that that cleanses one’s aura….

  21. I am Libran Sun, Libra Rising. On the whole I’m a really positive person. But when the fibromyalgia hits along with the grims and glums I have simply learned to let go fretting, rest, read good books, and be patient until things calm down. Lesson in life: patience; balance. Sod it, I wanna be running around like a blue-arsed fly.

  22. I think I have a three stage reboot. First, Aries Rising tells me to toughen the fuq up. Then, to feel better able to TTFU, Leo Sun gets me groomed and dressed. Last of all, Cap Moon draws up a to-do list and a schedule. And voila! Motivated and ready to go.

Hadn’t thought about it like this before…

  23. Aries Sun + 8 Mutable planets.

I don’t share it (at first) , I close down a bit with talking to closest girlfriends, (both katakans with scorp rising and scorp moon), so they are on to me straight away.

I make myself do something nice for other people. And try and strip the feelings/problem back to the core and start from there. De-cluttering and cleaning too. Walking the dogs.

Doesn’t happen often really, my main problem is i let off steam, like a maniac once a month.

Actually my (Gemmie) sister read an article to me on the weekend, a woman was saying that once a month she runs around like henny penny ” the sky is falling!! the sky is falling !!” then she checks her calendar and is like riiight, it’s that time of the month..it’s ok everyone, the sky’s not falling !! … i tend to err on that side a bit too much. but am much practiced in getting up, dusting myself off and charging in again.

  24. Aquarius. Ive never heard it explained better than zipping off into another dimension. I do! Its hard to explain, but I can conjure up a feeling and imagery of landscapes and options that just gives you hope. I think the star card is well chosen to represent aquarius. On a more mundane level, I like to watch science fiction if I feel low. I just realised how cliched that is for an aqua. πŸ™‚

  25. Sun; Libra – Mars; Cap

I need music for motivation… or total isolation… or both.

Although a dose of guilt does wonders for motivation if the result affects others :o)

    • Hmm. I have Mars in Libra and Moon Cap. Music and isolation can be very good for me, too. They make be feel better. Safe and uplifted.

  26. I clean. clean. clean. Much like some peeps gain clarity from a run or exercise in general, I can’t think straight unless things are in order around me. I usually find the more methodical the task, the more I can think things out. When I need a re-boot, cleaning is usually the last thing I feel like doing, but I know I will feel a hundred times better afterwards, so I do.

  27. Gem sun,4th house & kataka mars 5th.
Express my feelings dramatically in private through writing, hot shower and along chat with myself, or kitchen disco/Kate Bush dance-off, then appear in public or phone a friend with renewed optimism , fake-it-til-you-make-it style. As in, take a positive attitude consciously when I know I am low. Self pity is debilitating for me so a mood swing is the door to freedom from being sucked lower. Then the bounce comes back to the world.

    Go to doctor nature.

Going bush for a few hrs or overnight always works to become reinspired or detoxed .

    • I so identify with this, especially the writing it out/ long talk with self and doctor nature (love that phrase!) I have Mercury in Gemini and Gemini South Node so it’s easy for me to get way too entangled in my own mental acrobatics, Gem-style. I have to talk/write until there is no more to say, and go to a place outdoors where words are irrelevant.

    • Aries Sun, Aries Mars, Sagg Mars

Although very different astro, this is my style too. Talk/process to myself lots as I walk walk walk, noticing everything around me. Must see sky, trees and being by the ocean is wonderfully cleansing/refreshing.

I also like to put on music to dance up some energy.

  28. Pisces rising wants to escape into dreamland, fantasy, movies, esoterica, BDHJ but Saturn on Asc eventually says “get real” so i tune in fab astro for steadying self and guiding the path (thankyou MM!).

Uranus/Merc/Pluto conj in 7th Virgo needs a therapeutic relationship or two to discuss and do depth analysis in an organised structured way (ie 50 min session with analyst twice per week). Have to admit Uranus in that combo can make for a recalcitrant analysand as well as moments of brilliant illumination. Never boring.

Kataka Moon wants to retreat into my shell (home) and stay safe while planning or doing Pisces escapism. Kataka Mars conj NN says enuf “get moving now” (this is still a learning curve – engaging Mars conj NN).

Leo Sun – “Leos really do need to deal to their looks first and then, once coiffed, all can be solved. ” Nothing could be truer πŸ™‚

Also, have to have organised personal environment (clean/sorted/uncluttered home with healthy food in the fridge) to think straight – Virgo stellium * Kataka planets and/or Saturn on Asc.

  29. Capricorn Sun… booze.
Virgo Mars… Fix It. But also (like BG) compose an elaborate comedy routine that describes the woes, make other people laugh about your troubles, then they don’t seem so bad.
Mars square Neptune… last resort is always blind faith.

    • In a less blithe approach… Capricorn Sun… Do good for others!! Charity and volunteering is the reason I love my life and always gets me out of a funk. I just registered to be a mentor for underprivileged kids, like 10 mins ago.

  30. This Aries admits low ebb, but as a motivating factor in itself. Not like I can admit low ebb and then just stay there. How incredibly flakey. No, no. Admit low ebb exists, then give orders to burn down the city of low ebb, pronto.

  31. I think I reboot along my Pisces Mars lines…escape, fantasy, dreamy, spiritual – esqe activities totally reinvigorate me because I get to delve in magic and other wordly ideas, which gives me courage and heart to deal with real-worldly things. Knowing that that there is more to this physical world excites and fortifies me.

So reboot activities: Reiki, Tarot reading, Energy Healing, Esoteric book store wandering, Astrology browsing, crystal buying, a visit to a vibey new-agey place (but not hippy place – Aqua Sun does not tolerate flakes or fakes)

Also, my domain needs to be clinically clean, minimalist, & feng shui’d to the max (the MANIC cleaning effort satisfies my Aries moon I think, which needs to “take action” to gain control emotionally), with beautiful candles, floaty music, scents, clean linen, etc. BLISS.

  32. i just seem to wake up one morning to find my inner arian bootcamp instructor screaming at me so i get out of bed and meditate, exercise and indulge my inner virgo by cleaning and tidying everything in sight also, i swear off caffeine, alcohol, wheat and dairy and keep bashing my ram forehead on things til they shift

      • LOL nat

and it’s exactly what i’ve been doing this morning

a very timely post mystic! thanks

    • Cleaning is a must. I must be an anomaly as I’ll wallow for a while, sometimes a long while, until something jolts me out of it. Exercise is necessary.
Aries sun, Sagg moon, Sagg Ascendant

  33. 1. If I can get lost in a really good book, I remember who I am again & that makes me want to go forth and conquer.

    2. There’s a positive visualization technique I used to use that really made a difference when I’d lost focus. Planning on taking it out of the closet & dusting it off – could definitely use it this month.

    3. Hanging around accomplished friends always inspires me – they make it look easy, or at least do-able, and make me want to set my standards high.

Libra Sun; Aries Moon; Gemini Asc.

  34. To deal with a low ebb (or any kind of freak out) I work the trifecta of my Sun, Rising & Moon. Usually in this order:

    * Sun in Cancer: retreats to home base, secures self in private sanctuary, cuts off communications, gets warm, gets safe, goes quiet and processes like crazy until I feel steady inside.

    * Scorpio Rising: seeks information, assesses the data to determine what is authentic (and differentiate from that which is imagined/not real/not relevant), researches solutions, digs and digs and digs until it gets some insight that makes sense or some technique that is applicable to the situation.

    * Moon in Aries: once a solution/plan of action is found it must be applied ASAP and by chr*st there had better be some obvious results pronto! Temper is most likely to flare at this point if some kind of improvement not visible. Taken me a long time to learn but physical activity is also a very important part of the re-booting process. Getting better at using my body to deal with my mind (somatic psychology or just plain running/working up a sweat).

    • Moon In Aries with all that deep water? Ah. Is this the right room for an argument … ?

Just discovered that reading Plato can be very cheering for a slightly crazed dark moon – esp. when you imagine John Cleese in the role of Socrates and Eric Idle as everyone else. It’s quietly hilarious and strangely riveting. (That’s Mars In Leo in low key mood offset by whimsy of Pisces Sun.)

      • Nooo DSB, this is NOT the right room for an argument… ha ha!

I also enjoy the quiet hilariousness & whimsy of reading things in stupid voices – not highbrow text like plato but warning signs, ads, serious pronouncements etc. I can’t help myself mimic accents and other people’s expressions too. Love being so easily amused. Mars in Leo huh, surely you also cheer yourself with a great ‘do/mane maintenance?

        • Love doing voices. Once worked with a guy who had a horrendous transatlantic accent. I used to imitate him and he was so vain he never noticed.

Just to think that in my teens we all thought bongs + raging = fun, fun, fun when in fact silliness – it’s deepest, purest and most organic form – can happen so easily and at any time. (Australian politics today. Perfect example.)

Ye Olde Philosophie is not exactly regular reading by any means, but somehow is working wonders on this chilly overcast weekend. Actually feeling like total crap (got cold, narky, emo etc) but *boing* will bounce back in a day or so. Walking is my saviour, really. Just give me a beach …

Mane? Dem genes have meant a wee bit of clearing up top. But a wig could be good …

          • “…so vain he never noticed” very funny. Hope you’re feeling better DSB. You don’t strike me as a narky, emo type so hopefully it will pass soon, just like the clouds. Yes to walking. Anywhere anytime. Its so simple & rewarding.

            • Thanks! The last few dark moons have been like the sound Laurie Anderson makes in “Language is a Virus” ( … I think it’s a pain cry). You honour it and live the moment. It passes.

Well … being a creative type I have a total spazz at least twice a week. Ka-boom! Invective! Sarcasm! Shouts!

Another reason why walking (and good breathing) is a key part of my general well-being maintenance program. Peeps closest to me say I’m better for it.

  35. sun aries, sag rising, moon aqua

I keep busy and social, I like hanging out with my friends especially those who make me laugh a lot. Then mostly I forget that I was even at a low ebb!

If I am on my own I meditate, do some tarot cards and write some lists. That generally makes me feel excited and motivated again.

  36. Pamper myself (like massages/facials/etc.) and spend time alone making healing foods. Read. hike. explore new areas. write. paint.

I am Libra Sun, Scorpio Moon (in 12th house), with Saggo rising. If i feel beautiful, I can accomplish anything.

  37. 😯

I keep myself v busy, processing is fast and I’m always motivated… 😯
If I’m feeling in a little rut I’ll watch comedies or call someone and make them laugh! I don’t get down for long, it generally passes quickly… 😯

Mars in Virgo in 6th & being a Gemini Sun in 3rd helps me do 25 things at once… 😯 …It helps me relax too!

  38. Something has shifted here.

As Pisces Sun/Asc I have always turned to the Ascended Master to reboot.

However the Ascended Master has invariably led me down the (his/ her) garden path.

Sorry to sound all New Age….but have come to realise that the Ascended Master lies within.

  39. Let me consider that for a minute since I’m in low ebb of sorts right now. I have retreated back to my Kataka shell, but I think the thing that motivates right now is that I am intelligent and capable enough to get this shiite, and I still have that shell (a.k.a. home) to go back to when I want to get away from it all.

    Cancer Sun/7th
    Aries Mars/3rd

    • I also do think make-overs help, I’m making a trip to the hairdresser sometime in the next few days. 5th house Venus coming into play?

    • Oh, and also a good book or story and some out-of-this-world stuff on the Sci-Fi, History, or Travel Channels is a temprorary pick-up for me with the typical nice foods. I’ve heard that doing a combo of your Moon and Jupiter is a good pick-me-up when feeling low. In my case thats Jupiter in Taurus in the 5th/Moon in Virgo in the 8th….makes sense.

      • I like that. I have a hair appointment next week too and although I’m Sun Scorpio and Mars with Virgo Moon, I have Leo in Jupiter, which explains why some indulgent pampering always makes me feel better. I think the Virgo Moon might come into plan there because after I get my hair cut or colored I almost always feel motivated to clean out my beauty products, throw out old stuff and then go shopping for new products to use on my new do. πŸ˜€

  40. Gemini Sun… I give myself a pep talk. What else? Mars is conjunct Mercury, so it’s hard to know what’s happening there. It never gets a word in.

  41. Scorpio Sun AND Mars

I’ve found that accepting low times is a natural part of being a Scorpio. I embrace my moody broody ways and when people tell me to “cheer up” or “think happy thoughts” I usually tell them that they wouldn’t understand…and then I tell them to fuq off. Actually I don’t usually verbalize it, as an icy stare does wonders all on its own. Someone once told me when I was younger, that it’s not natural to be happy all the time, that you have to be sad sometimes. Just being told that made me feel very comfortable in my water sign ways.

But when I do need a lift I like being stimulated intellectually. I love watching documentaries on things like art history or learning about a culture that I’m not too familiar with. If I’m really down I generally don’t have a lot of energy, so I won’t go out unless prompted by friends. But if it’s just me I’ll take a long steamy shower, pamper myself with lotions or oils, snuggle up in something warm and comfy and maybe make some simple healthy food, then enjoy myself. Being reminded of the small joys in life always helps to lighten my mood when the world seems too overwhelming to deal with.

    • Exactly! Actually what I really want to do is punch them in the face but then my more rational side talks me down from it. BTW I’ve been wanting to punch A LOT of people in the face lately….. is this normal? Lol!

    • Amen to embracing the ‘down’ times! I’ve found over the years the best way for me to handle a low is to fully embrace it – not to become all low-Neptune but to acknowledge that it’s ok to feel down and to examine the reasons why … to work through the darkness rather than ignoring it. When I feel this way, I clear my desk, light a candle and do some deep-breathing/meditation/acknowledging-thoughts-without-judgment-as-they-arise type thing. I also do the steamy shower, put on my trusty trackies and snuggle down in bed and either write it out or re-watch ‘The Wire’ (particularly Season 4). Being alone during this time is crucial for me, so I can ‘re-connect’ (for lack of a better phrase) with my watery depths.

      • A trio of very enterprising Scorpio, Pisces and Cancer peeps should really get together and establish a hydrotherapy spa for water signs! There could be all manner of water luxuries to escape into…baths, showers, saunas, lap pools, jacuzzies, aromatherapy mists. Even sensory deprivation tanks! Of course there will be those times when we just want to isolate ourselves and not go out or interact with other people, in which case there should also be a “spa in a box” delivery service that brings wonderful bath salts, oils, and bubbles to your doorstep, so the broody water sign never has to leave the comfort of home. πŸ˜€

        • Oh, yes please … LOVE some hydrotherapy. Working at/owning a spa would be perfect, because one would have unlimited access to hammams, salt scrubs, massages ………. *drifts off into a daydream* And if it were in the desert somewhere, I’d never leave! πŸ™‚

          • Interesting. Would you rather an oasis in the desert or a seaside retreat? I’ve always lived within an hour of the coast, even though I don’t get to the beach that regularly, but I’ve wondered before if I could live in a land-locked state and be happy or if my Scorpy self would intuitively miss being close to the water.

  42. Scorp Sun, Virgo Mars: think, brood, think some more, ponder, brood, think, scheme, think, write stuff down, and basically examine the issue/problem at hand until there’s nothing left to do but, y’know, DO something about it.

      • me too. sagg sun, leo mars, scorp ascendant, and a major wallop of conjuctions right on my virgo mc.

oh, but I have to add that without great hair (Leo mars), and tight slim athletic bum and thighs and several runs around the block or fifty (Sagg sun, Aries Moon), I may spend way too much time on the pondering and examining, since in that case, I am lacking confidence.

then again, when hair/bod are just right (or as right as I can make em) i will often be able to trump/avoid wasting time on all the analysis with action that comes from the gut – action that often surprises even me….

  43. What a perfect topic. Scorpio Sun, Virgo Moon. Think, more like ruminate, for a long time and then am very efficient in implementing my plan. But it can take a long, long time of isolation and research (which of course I tell no one about ) before I finally act. And it usually catches people off guard.

  44. I thought no but on reflection yes. I gem sun often need to talk, sunrise sunrise, before I confirm my course of action, I def have a thesis of ways to reboot, scorpion rising, and I’m not beyond calling on ascended masters even in my most atheist of hours.

    • Oh Gem-
I have Mars in gemini and I was just thinking…Hmmm, Mystic didn’t say for Geminis…but that is exactly it on the dinger… Mars in Gemini- I have to TALK- it’s huge… low ebb= voracious need to talk it though, out, vent, converse, gab, anything…..

      So true.

  45. Virgo Sun, Aries Mars

I contemplate the different sides of the issue (prob a product of my Libra Merc), discuss it or write it out, and stick with a course of action.

Although lately I’ve been more likely to blindly go for the gut reaction, which usually succeeds

  46. I can’t concentrate without clean hair and perfect nails at any time let alone in dark times. Then I get on with the job of rising above it all with fresh air, dressing up and sunny songs.

  47. “Leos really do need to deal to their looks first and then, once coiffed, all can be solved”

ha ha, so true, so true. If the hair is good, it’s all good LOL
