We have talked before of the surreal, over the top, practically cinematic levels of self-destruction, deceit and sheer lurid sleaziness possible with a messed up Mars-Neptune scenario AND the haute art, freaky allure aspect of these peeps as well…
Mars being “men” we look to pissy Mars-Neptune aspect as being potentially dysfunctional in men. See the link above for more on this. The poet Charles Bukowski is another Mars-Neptune poster boy. They’re trouble.
But what of the women? Do we look to a challenging Venus-Neptune aspect? Venus being female. Any chicks out there with Venus-Neptune aspects who wanna own up to being boozing, brawling man/womanizing maniacs but with immense creative talent? Historical examples. The hard-living, hard-drinking, sexual adventuress, feminist and genius poet Edna St Vincent Millay springs to mind – but her Venus only sextiles Neptune. Her Mars? Opposite Neptune.
So it’s Mars opposite or square Neptune that seems to provide the impetus to both a hyperbolic creative drive and the desire to be totally tanked a lot of the time – throw in some sexual amorality/nymphomania and we’re done, yes?
“…My candle burns at both ends;
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends—
It gives a lovely light…”
“…SAFE upon the solid rock the ugly houses stand:
Come and see my shining palace built upon the sand!…”
“…AND if I loved you Wednesday,
Well, what is that to you?
I do not love you Thursday–
So much is true.
And why you come complaining
Is more than I can see.
I loved you Wednesday,–yes–but what
Is that to me?…”
Edna St Vincent Millay – she is my fave poet ever, worth exploring if you are not already a fan…Pisces, Aquarius Rising with Mercury, Mars-Moon-Midheaven Saggo…Of COURSE she wanted to be free and unique – accomplishing it whilst becoming a Pulitzer prize winning poet, opposing fascism and sexism SO stylishly AND being great in bed whilst regularly hitting the Blue Devil Hoochie Juice is the genius/miracle.
