The Astrology Of Your Second Husband…Or Wife

Russian art woman with white horseYou know, in one school of classical astrology, your Seventh House (what i usually call the House of Love or your Relationship Sector) is actually just for your first husband. Or wife.

It is the 9th House that describes your 2nd one.

So say  you’ve got Capricorn in the 7th – you hook up with a driven warrior type.

Pisces in the 9th? But then later you run away to Africa with a poet & a Masai Tribal Elder marries you.

Not talking marriage? That person (or people lol) are described by your 5th House.  Clandestine sexuality partners? The 8th.

This sort of ye olde astro is fatalistic and a bit limiting but fun to ponder, no?

I have Venus in Aries on the cusp of my 7th and 8th houses. My first husband was a angry, dominating Aries type man but very much a Scorpio. Funny enough, his Mars was in Aries. Lucky for me, I have Jupiter in Taurus in my 9th house. Haven’t met that 2nd husband yet but looks like it bodes well to have that kind of placement. I think I deserve it. What do you guys think of that?

Well my 7th House is Aquarius where my Venus and Mercury lie.
My first husband was a Gemini with an Aquarius Moon. Gemini is my 11th House – but I will not remarry him!!!

My 9th House is Aries where I have Moon, Jupiter and Chiron.
My second husband was a Leo, with Leo everything and lasted a nano second. Leo is my 1st House – so obviously not significant.

Today I turned 35 and reckon I have time to fit some more husbands in, so probably looking for 5th House Sagittarius I reckon, conjunct my Neptune.

Aquarius 7th house. Which doesnt explain why Taureans are like kryptonite to me, except possibly my mars and eros are there? Taurean ex lasted 10 years. 9th house aries hasnt arrived yet, but jupiter, aries and lilith are all headed there, so things could get interesting, yes? 5th house has neptune in sagg. I think that says it all, really. I was always winding up with terribly inappropriate crushes on lost cases who invariably wound up having bipolar breakdowns or having to go to rehab or leave the country before anything eventuated. So so true. 5th house Libra, what do you say, they are like Kryptonite to me. All ex bf have been Librans.

7th house Scorpio, ex hubby was Libran with Venus and Mars in Scorp and he was def the low end of Scorp!! No more of this.

9th house well it is intercepted Aqua, no 2nd marriage?? So I have 9th house Cappy….would really make a lovely change from the intensity. I really need stability and earthiness…

Hmmm …

7th house = Aries (!!) … a fish and a ram = no wonder it’s my FIRST marriage!
9th house = Gemini
5th house = Capricorn … I like the idea of a driven warrior type.
8th house = Taurus

Intriguing, as I seem to have a blind spot for male Librans (as in, three ex’s are Libran. Yes, really). I’ve never been married per se, although the last Mr Libra lasted for six years. So, seems like I get to look forward to a highly driven, straight-talking, red-wearing, ‘the meek shall NOT inherit the earth’ type!

Strange. I have Virgo on th 7th, and my past few boyfriends have been Virgos. Sadge in th 9th, and I’m currently dating, of all signs, a Sadge. (I’ve had bad experiences with them before, so someone wish me luck!)

When I saw the title of this, for some reason I got to thinking of the Wife of Bath, from Chaucer’s Cantervury Tales. She had 5 husbunds and mentions a lot of astrological information about herself in that old book. I understood it better than all that middle English.

I know a young Scorpio woman writer, one day I told her a joke, the punch line was the woman telling a guy, “You look like my fourth husband!” and he asks “How many husbands have you had?” she says “Three!” She laughed and then told me she’d never been married, and she described quite detailed plans on having three husbands, and how each marriage would end and what each one would provide in her personal lifetime story arc. I told her, “Well you better hurry up and quit dawdling around with those little boys, if I am to be… Read more »

lets see first, just to be sure, we are actually talking about the sign on the house cusp – ie, i have 7th house starting in cancer and finishing in leo, but for the purposes of this discussion, it is cancer in 7th that is important? so, me virgo sun in 9th, with cancer 7th (with mars), which matches scorpio wife’s asc. Year of the Fox says a long relationship can be a marriage.. If that is the case I have had at least two (or three) ‘marriages’. I suppose I could count SaggEx as a marriage as we shared a house and a business, which kind of formalised our situation as a couple dramatically.

7th House Saggi – yes was Saggi.
9 House Pisces – Only Mars in Pisces, more Gem like. I guess whatever was the opposite of Saggi was best for me!

Hmm…currently single and never been married. So if this works out, husband number 1 would be a Gemini and husband number 2 would be a Virgo. Long term love would be a Taurus and the forbidden relationship would be a Leo. Only part of this that works out is that I did *almost* get involved with a Leo. It was through an online dating thing and the day we were supposed to meet up there was a communication mix up with the times. Sweetpea, what’s interception? Is that when a sign is contained within a house so that the house has, let’s say Aquarius on the cusp of the 7th, then Pisces within the 7th, and then Aries on cusp of 8th? Is that the picture?

If so, what does it signify?

Yep, that’s what it means. Or, you could have Aqua on the 7th and then Pisces in the 7th but on the cusp of the 8th. A ~whole~ sign does not have to be within a house between two others to be intercepted. Just means another sign started somewhere in a house but was not on the house cusp. I’ve seen other people consider an intercepted sign only when another whole sign is contained in a house between two other signs. That’s not been my understanding or how I use it so, if I’m wrong… I still give the sign… Read more »

But I don’t plan on getting married anyway so let’s have a look at the other two. Aries in the fifth and Gemini in the eighth. No wonder I attract to Aries like MAD and am currently fascinated by Geminis.

Yick, for me it would be a Capricorn. I once read the 8th house from your sun sign is what you are afraid of most. For a Gem, a Cap would mean endurance in grunt work. My Cap Moon is already suffering from endurance in emotional crisis, not letting go, stiff upper lip, I can’t think of having a Cap as a husband to remind me that.

Well that is interesting, I think o marriage in a non traditional way, and have in the past placed little value in it. The reality of being someone’s WIFE seemed such a horrid reality that I avoided very well. I become married in my heart and this is what I feel matters most. My first great love was taurean and I have a Taurus 7th house. My second love(s) were cancerian and my 9th house cancer. So have I had my quota of love or what would be next?

I have Pisces rising, Aries is intercepted first house – the perfect house for Aries to be intercepted. The chart heaps insult and injury: Chiron is in the intercepted Aries 1st house.

Best way to describe is someone put Chiron in a locked room where self-expression lives, threw away the key, so Chiron can wail away into eternity.

Perhaps Uranus will shake the walls.

How does it feel? having an Aries rising I mean.

It’s kind of bossy, impatient and all about me 😉 Actually it’s Inconjunct my Mercury so I spend a lot of time feeling misinterpreted and having to explain who I am isn’t quite what first comes across. Especially with my appearance. I used to fantasise about having a dreamy Pisces rising.

Walt Whitman had the same placement, Chiron intercepted in Aries, first house. So finding a unique way to express self means letting go of self first, I would like to believe. Aries is competitive, which is a great trait when it comes to dealing with qi-draining vampires. Pisces rising soaks these suckers, it is draining. Now, am playing with using Pluto – well, it owns the chart. Pisces rising is perceived as flaky but Pluto gives me a focus to kick people when they least expect. Sweetpea explains below, but my understanding is different: when a sign is imprisoned in a house is what I understand. For me, 1st house is ruled by Pisces, 2nd house by Taurus. When I look at my chart, I see Aries cloistered in 1st house between Pisces and Taurus. I may be wrong though.

In my case, it has difficulty in expressing itself with proper outlets. So, 1st house ruled w Pisces, and Aries is locked, Taurus begins before 2nd: my reactions can turn to be escapist-stubborn, but never assertive enough. With experience it is changing though.

So if you don’t marry them but you’re with them a long time, is that considered 5th house? Mine is in Cancer and my long term person was Cancer Sun. That does actually seem to follow through with my unmarried friends who have long term relationships or are in them. Except my Mum who married my Pisces Dad, her 7th is Aries, her 5th is Pisces.

I don’t know if 7 years is LONG enough ha, kind of throws it out the window for me though if that’s the case. There’s confusion over his birth time unfortch so I’ll never know where I hung out in his houses. Our attraction was based on an exact Venus/Mars conjunction (in Libra) and not much else.

I really wish people would just know their birth time, makes life so annoying all this ASC guess work.

I think 7 yrs would count if it was a 7 that changed your life. I was with my Saggo for 6 years but we moved in together, shared a biz and house together….practically married by all intents…

Gay people can’t marry in some backwards places but that doesn’t mean their 7th house is useless if they don’t get a piece of paper that says “married”.
