The Buddha Of The Future

Standing Bodhisattva Maitreya, the Buddha of the Future

9th–10th century Nepal, copper alloy with gilding and color

I LOVE the title “the Buddha of the Future.”Β  LOVE it.

This is from Artemis Dreaming

And the Buddha Of The Future seems super-apt for the Dark Moon weirding before a gutsy new Moon in Saggo.

Am never quite at home in the West. Asia & the Islands
feel like they are my true home. It’s a comfort thing.
The peeps are so much gentler, giving & hospitable,
more COLOUR.

Andromeda

I almost think feeling at home in the West is impossible in the truest sense. I felt more at home in small villages in south america with my ex’s awesome family picnic-ing by a river and drinking beer by the crate… But maybe that’s not the point of incarnating here and living it? It’s certainly more of a challenge in respects what with the disconnectedness ‘n’ all.

Remember being at Uni first year and studying Asian religions and being so overwhelmed by the amount of philosophy and new ideas I was studying. By the time I got to Maitreya Buddha I remember stopping and feeling like my brain was going …explode! The future Buddha? Will never forget the sensation of so many new ideas being crammed into my little skull at once. Now I think it is pretty funny that 18 year olds are expected to suddenly be able to converse intelligently on a topic spanning hundreds of years and involving philosophy created by some of the… Read more »

Andromeda, i have ‘The Book of Secrets’ by Osho. Huge it is.
A Medico friend saw it & said, well it’s not a secret anymore!
Thanks to Myst’s reminder, washed & polished my 2 statues
last night while being amazed again on how beautiful they are.
Now gleamingly ready to give me blessings.
Felt like i was polishing Alladin’s Lamp & a creative urge came
upon me. Art Art draw, photograph, paint. The Great Spirit is
moving me.

Andromeda and Pegasus, I get that brain (explosion) feeling sometimes now when I study. Seems I have 3 or 4 books going at once anymore, and The Book of Secrets is one of them, Huge ! Plus doing astrology and art projects, what we really need is Hermionies time turner ~ then we really could learn/read/create/do it all !
Funny you mentioned Alladins lamp, I had just been thinking I had a ceramic one in basement, so now it is in my studio on top of bookcase.
I like your Buddha blessings πŸ™‚ All the best~

Great Spirit move that Pegasus! Show us another pic of yours sometime darlink, maybe replace the avatar for a day? Or link us in? I bet you are brilliant being so divinely inspired and all.
Nothing like having your things of beauty polished and placed perfectly.
SatRox, should I be buying the Book Of Secrets? Is it good? I have a blue glass hookah for the smoking of apple tobacco, this Saggi vibe makes me think of giving it a whirl..

20 years ago we got a pup and called in Suki or some such. All my 18 month old daughter could pronounce to call her was Buddha…so the name stuck. She was a beaut dog….think I might havve a drinkie tonight and think about her, Krishna, Buddha, and Dog…I mean God!

Had a Luthern chiro doc once telling me that he felt guilty for having indulged in alcohol. Told him to perhaps adopt the Buddha’s “middle road, everything in moderation”.

He told me that when he died he just wanted to able to tell God that he had reat THE BOOK. Said he was worried for my Soul and that Buddha was just a little fat statue with a pot belly. Told him my Soul was just fine, then laughed.

Funny that coz the Lutherans i know are huge drinkers
from the German culture of Beer Drinkin’ competions not
to mention Wine consumption.
Bit the the French telling you not to smoke, or telling the
Italians you don’t like Art πŸ™‚

Oh Pegs, I didn’t know that about the Lutherans but I’ve been in many churchs over there and they are very beautiful/ornate. Was told if ever lost in Germany, just look for the top of the nearest village church and while walking through many small villages, found that to be true!

Everything in moderation, including a little excess.

Sweetpea

I’m Venus in Taurus Charles. Moderation is my task master as far as certain indulgences.

Hell, who ever wants to listen to moderation tho when it comes to certain things. Just tonight I’m listenig to Selena’s “Dreaming of You” and sending all the love I feel to my daughters when they were little as I envision them standing there in their diapers, so innocent like. And grandaugther and deceased Mother.

I don’t think Buddha cares if I’ve had some wine..It’s what’s in the heart and the expansion of it, don’t you think? xo

Sweetpea

Last night, after I did this post, I ~almost~ went out to do karaoke (haven’t done it in over two years) , so I could sing Selena πŸ™‚

Even warmed the hair curlers up. Then I tucked a hundred dollar bill into my bra and was going to go gambling. Haven’t done that in long, long time either.

Thank gawd I went to bed instead! It was pretty late.

Thank God for moderation even tho I was slightly under the influence of excess. Buddha would be proud…I think.

Surely the singing/party part of it was trans. Saggo Moon right smack on my Jupiter….

Saturnrox

you know, a psychic said the other day the angels *love to hear you sing, they sing WITH you…isn’t that beautiful ?
It feels good, any ole moon, honey~ let ‘er rip! πŸ™‚

Funny you mentioned gambling. Yesterday decided i would
do horses, tho’ against horse racing per se. Am going to start
by going to track-work at 5-6am. Found a huge book on Horses
thro’ the ages, that and the fact i worked so physically hard the past week
had me thinking of ‘free money’ as in winning some.
Happier that you went to bed 100 richer? Bet you are!
Bought another set of earbuds yesterday, Siennhauser, better
quality than the ones that came with mac i-pod.
Music is a food of life.

Well good luck if you run the ponies Pegs. Must be the Saggo Mn today as spent hours in a Latino grocery store having a melon drink thingy (menu was in Spanish so I just sorta pointed that I would like “that”), and buying lots of fresh produce. They have the best and the best prices. Moon on Jupiter in my 6th seems to be about fresh foods, etc cuz that’s all I’ve wanted today. Hear you about the days when the “free money” would come in handy esp. when I’m burnt out and tired. Enjoy your Siennhauser buds (sounds… Read more »

Patient asked today if I’d ever thought about getting a Buddha for my massage room and told her I have one, but he’s hidden. Can’t seem partial to beliefs when I don’t know who is walking thru my door. Like Doc says, politics and religion aren’t topics we want to get in to in the office but of course there are those that open up and you find you’re on a similar open wave length.

Will have a buddhist weekend. Beutiful to keep a focus on. Thx MM. Feeling very raw after I sent missive to ex last night asking for closure. I know I won’t get a reply so gotta keep breathing it out. I’m off to a buddhist purification retreat later for an extra fortification.

Quadrupled, i despair at the lack of courage in men (from reading of their behaviour & experiencing Butchs’), ‘where have all the Real Men gone’, that song was written by a man that also saw the erosion. Sometimes wonder if it’s the feminist rhetoric backlash-getback they are giving us. If so they got it a bit wrong or did they? Do their innate manners depend on what school they went to how they treated their mother’s or just too much stimulation sex & erotica, they think they might miss something? They don’t have the tools of relaxation we women have… Read more »

Having a focus on buddha this weekend has made it sooo much more peaceful. The retreat switched on a little light inside me to follow and keep up the buddhist classes. im not up to practising it yet but am mindful. Much better for the soul than angsting over STUPID MEN! Finally I’m getting the high scorp way.

I have a Budda same as that but in the lotus position, there is a matching female as well. I have then semi-facing each other. Both are on a base with a number on back. The female is silver, the male bronze. LOve polishing their tiny waists. A Shakti-Shiva pair. On the female’s lap rests a quartz crystal egg & a wand in front of the male. Often place flowers on their ears & around them. Found them both at a Tibetan? (maybe they are Nepalise) display of antiques at Festival of Arts years ago & paid much moola. The… Read more »

I looked up the Wikipedia entry for Maitreya (always an iffy proposition) and wow, I was astonished at how many minor wars were started by people who claimed to be Maitreya. And they all ended up dead and their followers all exterminated. I have a suspicion that this is anti-buddhist propaganda, mythologized by non-buddhists. But still, there is nothing more dangerous than the future. And nothing better.

Too funny…I thought it looked like Buddha had just bocked a cone from that bong s/he’s holding!
Peace

Fi
Fi

LOL, yep the bong fits the facial expression – that “my eyes are too red to look up, but I’m smiling at ya” thing – and the peace brother stance, perfectly, but I doubt it’s really a bong. I’ve seen incense being spread around in similar looking implements by officiaries of other religions – Catholicism, perhaps?

Meditation has been on for the last two weeks – skipped only yesterday. Buddha of the Future is a beautiful thought to hold on today and tomorrow, I almost whacked a passive aggressive woman moments ago. this is turning to be a trying Dark Moon plus Mars combo. Thank you Mystic for navigation support flowing through daily Mystic.

Thank buddha she’s slim, taut and terrific, and smilin’ a mysterious I’m-in-the-know-and-you-can’t-take-my-serenity-away-whatever-you-do-mercury-mars-pluto look to herself while she’s groovin’. As befitting current astro, she’s also lookin’ like incense ain’t the only serious peacemaker she’s packin’. Think I’m gonna meditate on her as my new role model, bigtime, during what appears to be an immiment Cap cluster-fuq for all those of us with early cardinal moons…(thinkin’of you, Inchy!).

InchbyInch

Looking forward to the Pluto-Tripping ride, Fi. I’ve got the ephemeris (to track the transits), some tissues (going to be some cryin’ with pressure on the moon), and some dark chocolate truffles (just cuz). What else do we need?

Fi
Fi

What do we need? Hmmmm. Well, I am arming myself with this thought I read the other day, that I just put up where I can see it when I work: Hope has two beautiful daughters -anger at the way things are, and courage, to see that they change. Oh, and did I tell you I only just plotted Saphho in my chart. Guess where she is – conjunct (1 degree orb) my bloomin’ Aries moon of course, so she’s going to be getting the square from pluto, sun, mercury and mars too, in a while!

InchbyInch
InchbyInch

Though I guess we’re going to make some odd traveling companions. My Virgoness wants to make a list of what to pack . . . your Sagittarius nature will prefer to wing it. Which reminds me, I need to add birthday candles to the list. When is the day?

Fi
Fi

The day? New moon monday, when Pluto hits the exact square of our moons at 4 degrees (if my ephemeris is correct). Classic, eh? And as for the Sagg winging it thing – we’re more similar than you might think! I’ve actually got a pretty heavy 10th house Virgo wallop in my chart (ie Virgo Pluto conjunct Ceres EXACTLY square Sagg sun, stationary virgo uranus exactly conjunct MC -and exactly opp pisces jupiter conjunct chiron- and Virgo Juno conjunct Vesta exactly square sagg mercury. Hence am planner, big-time, in terms of anything 10th house related. Speaking of 10th house, just… Read more »

Thanks guys xx. Pegs, date is Monday, ie our new sagg moon. Happy new moon in advance, since I think it happens in the wee hours of the morning, if you are on east cost of oz too. Gun very tempting, sweetpea – but then I think about my mum…! Bet you’d love it, plutonic: it’s all very subversive stuff that questions everything (eg the dominant economic philosophy and the extra-ordinary power of orgs such as the IMF/WTO + multi-national corporations to affect the health and wellbeing of the earth + people – particularly women- all over the world). Fi, Happy Birthday, chica!!! Sorry I am nearly a day late. And congratulations on the appointment to the new position – a keen testament to your hard work and your superior intellect. Happening at your solar return time means it’s fantastically auspicious too. You’re right. No time to retreat to any moony funk. From here, it looks like you’re vibing all the astro on the highest note possible. Mercury retro is a good time to retreat into studies and plotting out a course plan.
