What relationship do your Saturn and Neptune have?
Are they in aspect?
There is an old astro-saying that Neptune always benefits from a little Saturn and i think it’s true.
Too much Saturn and you’re a corporate drone, everything measured out, scheduled and tracked for performance. Too much Neptune and you’re a mess: lying in the gutter thinking you’re in Atlantis.
People with a nice Saturn-Neptune link (conjunction, trine, sextile) naturally get this balance right. They’re functional but able to let rip and enjoy some reverie, artistic but with deadlines etc.
People with NO link need to kind of build it and those with the challenging Saturn-Neptune aspects can cleave to one or the other and demonise the planet/function they are not using.
eg; a Lower Neptunian type who is an irresponsible grifter, venomous toward anyone with a mortgage or responsibilities. Or a rigid suit, so status-aware that he/she can barely even see someone out of their network…eg; not from the right school or whatever. There is that classic story where some scientists go ultra-Saturn establishment-logic but then they marry Neptune, lol.
Kim Falconer and I discuss this a lot. She sent this to me the other day: Saturn is this powerful edifice to the ego that says ‘I am’ and Neptune is so far beyond that ‘I am everything’. While in human bodies, we need both and when they work together life becomes quite magical.
If we try to honor one over the other (do only Saturn corporate job etc) Neptune comes in the back door via alcoholism, addiction, abuse. Do only the spiritual road and we have to beg for clothes and food, or die because the body has been ignored (or go mad because we have no sense of ‘I’)
Does anyone remember that full on Saturn Neptune Opposition Weirding of late 2005 and 2006. That played out in a LOT of relationships…one person being Saturn and the other Neptune or peeps having to choose between a Saturn option (tried and true) or a Neptunian vision.
Saturn is always easier to handle after the first Saturn Return…
