Multi-Piscean Man

Take care of us all, one way or the other.’ To the children and the innocent it’s all the same.”

Jack Kerouac, The Dharma Bums

Jack Kerouac – SO Piscean…Multiple Pisces Man; Fortuna, Uranus, Lilith, Sun and Venus all in Pisces.  Moon Rising.  In Virgo. Am i dreaming or did he originate the term Bad Moon Rising???  Virgo Rising or Midheaven is v.common amongst novelists, poets and wordsmiths in general.  Mars in Sagittarius trine Neptune in Leo.

And his 30 Cool Tips are genius, totally Piscean and someone should tweet them! His Venus is/was on my Sun, sigh.

Which ones are your faves?

  1. Not that anyone will read this, because the post is old, but I was thinking about Kerouac just now, and searched for him to see if Mystic had written anything about him……..

HUZZAH! Made my night. I have Virgo MC/tenth house. Hooray! I’m feeling ten times better about my writing (even if it’s only a placebo)……

Also, completely irrelevant, but perhaps this could explain why I work so damn well with Virgos. In fact, I’m more OCD at work than my Vrigoan co-workers and have impressed one Virgo boss so much with my obsessive-compulsive behaviour she gave me a secret pay rise.

  2. I loved the description of Japhy Ryder’s shack in Dharma Bums.

Mystic wrote: “His Venus is/was on my Sun, sigh.” Thomas Moore (author of Care of the Soul) and P G Wodehouse have their Suns in 15 Libra, which means their Suns are on my Venus. I love it that creative people can continue to have that inspirational, life-giving, impact on others— even after death.

  3. Sent this whole multi-Pisces pic and commentary to a Pisces I’ve known and loved who is no longer around. Maybe it’ll move him. I loved the 30 rules myself as a Venus Pisces-Moon Gemini.

  4. good point Sweetpea, it is very piscean-age to love the noble sadsack creative. Not so Aqua. Times are a changin’, don’t ya think?
Love the way you write, BTW 🙂

  5. Never read JK actually. Never crossed my path. Wikipedia does an interesting write up on him….Natalie Merchant (in 10,000 Maniac’s video above re: JK), says she “resents that JK drank himself to death” and would we be so intrigued if Marilyn Monroe had lived to let her boobs sag and get bags under her eyes for example. In other words, why are we (she said “Americans”) enthralled by self destructive peeps instead of those who live long, productive lives. Personally, I wouldn’t find it my place to “resent” someone else’s choices esp. someone I didn’t know.

Wikipedia says he died ranting anti-semitic sentiments.

Again, never read him so no judgement. Just gave me some food for thought.

The battle of light and dark. Besides my own, never witnessed it so much as I had in the the ex Pisces.

  6. hmm can’t abide Jack’s writing – irritating relentless drawl – which I guess is where this rule comes in “Telling the true story of the world in interior monolog” I’m tossing up between these two – Composing wild, undisciplined, pure, coming in from under, crazier the better or You’re a Genius all the time. I suspect the latter is code for “you’re drunk all the time”.

Mothers and anyone who cares about babies please go here and tell the true story of the world to Roxon:

  7. Fave line is # 16…the eye within the eye as an expression for 3rd eye.
He has many mentions in a book called ‘Can’t Find my Way Home- America
in the Stoned Age’ by Martin Torgoff.
I Was an ultra cool 13 year old beatnik in that era who drew little ‘Maynards’ &
‘Foo was here’ on walls, went to Jazz clubs followed later by Folk clubs & foreign French movies.
Let me tell you what a bitch it was trying to find black stockings back then, only seamed
available (with much searching) and it WAS stockings not tights-pantyhose..O how i dislike
    that name ‘pantyhose’!
Ah the Beat stockings black coffee Charlie Mingus
& Dave Brubeck and much use of the word COOL & MAN.

  8. I would like to share a quote from my Pisces pal which was tucked into a huge email burst of freestyle writting….”Even fairy tales have weekends”.

At the time he said it, it felt like the most profound thing i had ever heard.

  9. Sorry but i have to quote it. The last paragraph of ‘On The Road’ always evokes a lump in my throat. Just. Genius.

“So in America when the sun goes down
and I sit on the old broken-down river pier
watching the long, long skies over New Jersey
and sense all that raw land that
rolls in one unbelievable huge bulge over
to the West Coast, and all that road going,
and all the people dreaming in the immensity of it,
and in Iowa I know by now the children must be crying
in the land where they let the children cry,
and tonight the stars’ll be out,
and don’t you know that God is Pooh Bear?
the evening star must be drooping and
shedding her sparkler dims on the prairie,
which is just before the coming of
complete night that blesses the earth,
darkens all the rivers, cups the peaks and folds the final shore in,
and nobody, nobody knows what’s going to happen to anybody
besides the forlorn rags of growing old,
    I think of Dean Moriarty,
I even think of Old Dean Moriarty the father we never found,
    I think of Dean Moriarty.”

    • kerouac wrote little know works of science fiction towards the end-
      try to find them-
you would be amazed, they are so far beyond and so different from
anything else … he was visionary actually.

      • Glad u likey: my favourite line, “darkens all the rivers, cups the peaks and folds the final shore in”, so sensual.

william did not know that about the sci fi, be interested to read one! Btw, are you the original william of old? or a new willy?

  10. Scribbled secret notebooks, and wild typewritten pages, for yr own joy

Remove literary, grammatical and syntactical inhibition

Composing wild, undisciplined, pure, coming in from under, crazier the better

    • yes!

And I’m going to refer again to a Piscean mythology of dolphins playing in the waves. There’s the big deep, vast sea, and there’s the intricate and ever changing shores.
Dolphins are masters of the mystery of water and waves so what might seem like hard work for other sea creatures, negotiating the tug and roll etc of waves, is just play to these brilliant oceanic dancers.

Something of the spontaneous mystic intuition in pisces seems to delight in needing no props.

      Just what is.

Is it also very piscean to like getting about in the nude? Not in a Leo sort of way, just in purely pleasureable “a la Gods made me” kinda way.

      • Ha ha, I loved that one too, didn’t see this when I posted! I always love the reality of emergency in our lives. Live, love! For tomorrow…

  11. I love… “accept loss forever” and “you’re a genius all the time” which totally appeal to my scorp/pluto life-death-life cycle thingo and the gemini mercurial wiz bang brain thingo… yes my pisces moon liked the “try not to get drunk outside your house”, but thanks now I want to read dharma bums, have been meaning to read for a while, and havent got around to it! currently reading make poverty history climate report… thank mm for this creative interlude

  12. hard to pick… but can i gently point out to those under 25’s who’ve grown up with text-speak that as used by the man himself, ‘yr’ is the proper abbreviation of ‘your’. Not ‘ur’ which to anyone over 25 means ‘you are’….

Sorry, been editing all day. In a bad mood. Or rather, was til I read Mystic’s post & the Astroscape. It’s a grand time to be a Piscean!

    • don’t apologise, i congratulate you on upholding the ‘yr’ tradition. i use it all the time in my writing and text msgs and people think it is an affectation denoting an american accent, which is usually true in my context, BUT, in the random stray text, it is plain and simple correct.

    • That ‘ur’ for ‘your’ drives me nutso too. Of course
      it’s ‘yr’.
A spiritual name for this solar system is ‘Urantia’

    • I did languages at University, I love the English language and, I’m sorry, I’ll never feel comfortable with the current mangling that’s going on. English is beautiful and properly written and spoken is so lyrical. Bugger text-speak.

  13. I particularly like “swimming in language sea”…very Piscean, Virgo Ascendantish
