You can, of course, discover the whereabouts of your asteroid Juno via the extended chart options of Astrodienst. Genius.
Juno, to me, is a bit like Ceres. I don’t really follow either of them too much. Juno is right now opposing Pluto and nearing the South Node, btw.
Some say Juno is the marriage asteroid, terribly important in synastry (comparison of charts a la compatibility) as in if HIS Juno is on your what’s-it, you are like his ideal wife sort of thing.
So this is adding Juno into the Artemis/Moon (emotional connection) and Venus (sexual magnetism) pantheon of female divinity. The mythological Juno is Queen of Heaven and long-suffering wife of the rampant rooter Jupiter. A.k.a. Hera and Zeus. She charges around meting out shocking punishments on the nymphs and so on who dally with her hubby.
In books such as Goddesses in Everywoman, a Juno/Hera type woman is said to put her status as Wife above all else- above mothering, above being a lover, above career, above her own identity. So compared to the erotic & liberated arty Aphrodite/Venus or the fiercely independent Moon Goddess, Juno is not so of the now.
What’s always fascinated me is that Magi Astrology (sort of old-school renegades with different ideas than many) say that the position of asteroid Juno in your chart is NOT about dutiful wifehood and/or where you would put up with practically anything to stay in a relationship. No. They say Juno is the Mistress. They’re not dissing the myth- Magi reckon they have crunched the numbers and decided that’s just how Juno manifests. ie; She should probably be re-named asteroid Jezebel.
So who is right? Is asteroid Juno relevant in your chart? And is it operating like a wifely asteroid – has it been significant in major, long-term relationships? If you are in a serious relationship, is there strong Juno action between you? Or is asteroid Juno definitely more linked to the Mistress archetype in your chart?
Some people consider Juno intra-aspects one of THE most important contacts between two charts and say strong Juno links definitely mean you will have a significant and enduring relationship.
Lol this is only suddenly riveting me because i met a man whose Juno is exact conjunct mine.
And Juno conjunct the South Node opposite Pluto? Wives and Mistresses from past lives emerging? Strange karmic-feeling entanglements? Or some sort of disgusting psych-trip a la what sacrifices we would make or have done in the past, just to have societal “couple” status?
