Libran Bees

bee alighting on purple flower

Science Daily is saying scientists are mystified by this unusual behaviour on the part of middle-Eastern bees but i just think they’re Libran bees.

“In a rare coincidence, researchers working in both Turkey and Iran discovered on the same day how a rare species of bee builds its underground nests. The females from the solitary species Osima (Ozbekosima) avoseta line the nest’s brood chambers with petals of pink, yellow, blue, and purple flowers…”

That is so beautiful, makes one next reincarnation to be a bee ๐Ÿ™‚ just for the chance to do that decor.

A sigh of pleasure about this from this bee.

I found a wren’s nest the other day that had been blown out of a tree. It was lined with tiny soft feathers including some pale pink and bright blue ones. I had never seen this before. Divine.

nat, I have to say reading your little nature posts always warms my heart. The only bird anything I see here in LA is some “gift” that landed on my windshield.

Once in a while I see a blue jay and it makes me really happy. Oh and crows. Really fat aggressive crows.

nat

thanks FA. I have never seen a blue jay. When I went home for lunch, these little guys were eating grass seeds near the bird bath – Double-barred finches. Sigh. They are in my Top 5 Favourite Birds of All Time! Only about 10cm long and so cute. They make a mewing sound like a kitten.

oh how gorgeous nat. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you’re keeping them all. I would love a birds nest collection. Sadly, don’t come across them living in the inner city. ๐Ÿ™

Hey robots, thought of you – just was reminded of the abc planets program on tonight. Will stay up for it although am very very sleepy after massage and salt bath. I’ve never had the reflexology before (heaven) and almost fell asleep as i had it after the deep tissue/hot rock massage. Truly $ well spent but i did cry on the way home – deep tissue = release of psychic gunk??

Oops, saw this just in time – thanks for the reminder fluidfeline ๐Ÿ˜›

maybe it’s best to rest after your massage, if you feel sleepy. I always have a good cry after body work, especially Kahuna. I think it’s a good thing. Releasing of psychic gunk for sure.
I’m sure pegasus will attest to that.

If you do miss the planets program, check out ABC online, they’re bound to repeat it. http://www.abc.net.au/iview/

Thanks for that link. Turns out i couldn’t keep my eyes open and the commentator’s voice was uumm dull to say the least ๐Ÿ™ Slept for 9 hours but still feeling tired and am a bit bruised. Bring on the New Moon.

Yes, Fluidfeline, occaisionally i have peeps cry during bodywork
& nurturing touch..such a release for them.
For me after a physio session of trigger point on spine, i fall into
a deep sleep for 2 hours.
Strangley it’s often a certain amount of tension that keeps us going.
Foot reflexology is amazing, like walking on air & 10 foot tall after.

Hi Pegs, Help! if you are still here please. Can you tell me if i should be relating my sudden quite severe nausea to my massage yesterday? It was vaguely there upon awakening but getting much worse. Am sitting at my desk with heat pack, water and a bucket! Am i that full of toxins or is it a cooincidence do you think? Feel like crawling into bed ๐Ÿ™

Feline, my two cents worth is that the combo you had was too strong. Others might disagree and think it’s good to feel like crap after bodywork, toxin release etc, but I call it overstimulation and avoid it in my own practice. My traditional teachers also thought patients should feel relaxed and well after treatments. I know someone who developed a severe migraine for the first time in her life after a hot rock massage followed by a sauna. She has never had a migraine since. To me it was overdoing it to combine the two.

Grate a little bit of ginger and boil it and drink it as a tea and go to bed.

FF, I agree with Uber, you may have over done it by combining the different treatments, especially if you do not have this type of massage regularly. I have deep tissue massage about every 2nd week (have done for nearly 10 years) so I am used to it, but if I take a break I need to go easy when I resume. All the therapists I have been to attest that you should never feel bruised afterwards. Drink lots of water, take it easy & brew some of the ginger tea that Uber recommends. You will come good.

Thanks Uber – no ginger in the house but have been sipping lemon ginger tea. I think with my stress level atm it was all too much. Sun/Moon is conjunct my natal Jupiter today – too much of a good thing ๐Ÿ™

Thanks nat – I used to have regular massage with a different therapist but haven’t had one in about 2 months and wanted to try this new clinic as they had a good deal. Lesson painfully learned.

scorpy we have so many birds here due to my mum being an avid bird watcher person who planted the garden with natives to attract numerous species plus a bird bath. On any day I sit outside and see kookaburras, new holland honey eaters, wattle birds, willy wag tails (actually we have one … Larry, bossy little fuqer tho terribly cute and gorgeous), 28 parrots, white cockatoos, black cockatoos, small doves, ringed doves, tiny honey eaters. They all nest in the trees and we frequently collect their gorgeous little nests lined with feathers.

the one’s that dropped obviously.

๐Ÿ˜† well of course the dropped ones. Would be too cruel to go stealing a bird’s home.

Your backyard sounds DIVINE. Envious!

thanks for reminding me about 28 parrots! I remember seeing them when I visited Perth once. Very smart birds & very cheeky.

Yes, I do keep a collection of the nests I find. Amazing feats of construction and so very beautiful.

Hmm.. I was just reading a paper today about how bees literally have a “hive mind.” Their tiny brains are too small to do complex tasks, but they still do complex communications like their “dance” to show other bees the way to the flowers. So scientists think they are communicating and forming a larger consciousness through some sort of higher dimension. Cool.

The Bee was used a while ago as a symbol of universal conciousness.
I remember a pix of an interesting guru like Indian man with a Bee
on his forehead & words saying ‘BEE-ING’
He was probley from Goa ๐Ÿ™‚
