Cancerians On Catnip

Ornate fantasy fairytale shoes

Which Sign would wear these Nicholas Kirkwood Alice in Wonderland shoes?  I am thinking only a Cancerian.  On catnip.

And, whilst we are here, do any of you own an actual shoe-maintenance box? With polishing gunk and brushes etc?  If yes, would you be Virgo? Or just ex-military?

I own a shoe polish box 😛 Taurus here! I have a bit of a hobbie of buying second hand shoes and doing them up!

I love these shoes – I would wear them with something very chic and simple to show them off…sigh factor 10/10!! Merc, Venus and Sat in Cancer.

That’s a funny question re the shoe polish box! My Virgo grandfather trained my dad to keep his shoes in good order, so we all have followed suit in the family. My Mars in Virgo like that very much. Virgo Grandpa was of course a military man!

Oh I would soooo wear these shoes! Pisces sun, cancer moon, cancer rising.

I actually refused to wear shoes unless I had until about the age of 21, and since I’ve turned 40 I am captivated by them. They certainly have become a fashion statement lately though – they are beautiful. Whereas 25 years ago, they were shine or they weren’t and practical or they weren’t, and that was about the choice of beautiful shoes.

It’s unlikely this Cancerian would wear those shoes, even with the Libran in me. I’d say the Virgo is dominating that decision though, even though I’m no expert. Having said that, I do have a shoe cleaning box. And I use it. In fact, each week I clean, polish, protect and deodorise all of my family’s shoes – I’m a housewife (I figured that was need to know information that’ll make some people smile). Incidentally, we also use shoe trees. Or at least, I do. My Saggo husband prefers to simply throw his shoes into the bottom of the wardrobe.… Read more »

You know, I’m so new to the different aspects/ influences of the birth chart that I had to just go and do it again to see. When I posted this morning I was recalling from memory what I had seen in my chart analysis in general rather than specifics.

So here goes:

I am a Cancer with Libra rising, Libra moon.

Virgo Venus, Virgo Mars, Virgo N. Node.

Hrm, go figure hey? 😀

PS: I did read your post and thought “Wow, another Cancer Nat around here, *ahem* nat, what are the chances? She must be loverly.”

Hi Nat McB, thanks for sharing your astro deets. That is a whole lot of Virgo power you’ve got going on there! Do you attract them? And a lovely Libran Moon – lucky you. Btw where is your Mercury? I love to know ppl’s Mercury signs and how it works in with the Sun-Moon-Rising. Yes, it is a coincidence that we both have the same log-on name here but mine is always a small ‘n’. Old-timers know me by my avatars (usually flowers from my garden and ocassionally birds from my garden). That and my tone I guess… he he!… Read more »

Hi again nat!

My Mercury is in Leo. Like I said though, I’m so very new to this but I’d really love to know more about the intricacies and what the influences are/ mean. I guess looking a bit deeper is the trick to that 🙂

I don’t really attract Virgos. But all of my best friends through time have been Aries (and it’s *always* ended badly), and as for romantically, apparently I have a thing for Sagg (I have Neptune in Sagg).

It’s good to meet you too. Thanks for welcoming me!

I always thought that the insane ritualistic neatness in the military was very virgo. Making the beds, cleaning the barracks, shoe care and especially the regulations on neatness when it comes to dress uniforms. Every one of those ribbons and insignia pins you see on military folk have been meticulously pinned on with the help of a ruler. Cancer moon AND virgo rising, I like to maintain my many shoes. Might just be a remnant from the military. One thing I HATE is when people stack shoes on top of each other. No no no! Also I don’t maintain shoes… Read more »

I ike these shoes (lots of Kataka) but I could not wear something so clearly uncomfortable.

I do have a shoe polishing kit. I keep my saddle soap, suede waterproofer, polishes, brush, and cloths in a Perrier-Jouet box. I developed this practice from my Dad, who was a Scorpio.

My Taurean girlfriend would TOTALLY wear those.

And yes, I have one such shoe maintenance box, for my relatively piddley collection of shoes 🙂 I actually put it all together to stop me buying the bloody shoe water proofing spray every time I buy shoes. The assistant always recommends it, and I was never sure if I had it. Now I know. Tres orderly.

Where do I get them!!!!!!! I LOVE Alice, Victoriana

These would go in a lighted display cabinet in the hall of my Victorian house – after wearing them ( very carefully of course ) to something really special

Sag rising – Crab Sun – Leo Moon 29 – Venus Virgo 1

I have a pair not quite as wild but close enough – saw a picture of them in a basket of cherries on the cover of the Sunday Times fashion supplement and HAD to have them

Okay, so when used to wear high heels and didn’t do/have time for a proper shine, did a swish of Vaseline and a swipe.

Aries on the run and Cappy Moon never late for work!

Did, as proper housewife, shine my husbands shoes. Yes, I certainly did but when we both worked he shined his own shoes and ironed his own shirts.

He Cancer Sun, Virgo Moon…And he sure did have his polishes and such in a little brown wooden box.

No only nice shoe maintenance box brimming with shoe potions; hoping to inherit proper one from my mum. It’s a seat with a lid, sort of shoe commode. Nothing in the least bit military, but did go to convent which had fanatical shoe changing and cleaning rituals. These things die hard. My older sister probably already got those shoes on order, she’s Leo.

Yep, Virgo Rising and shoe maintenance box in place.

Can’t shake the training from the nuns at school – they had THE shiny-est shoes ever and I still harbour a hankering for a pair of their cuban heel two hole lace ups which is probably creepy on some level 🙂 – we used to get detention if our shoes weren’t polished every day and it’s thirty+ years since then.

The shoes in the pic should only be bought as a work of art to be placed on a shelf and looked at.

Cancerian Sun here…

No, not wearing those shoes! Not ever wearing those shoes, whether I’m high on catnip, oxytocin, sauv blanc or anything else. I find them OTT & ugly. In fact I couldn’t even tell that they were shoes! But I would admire someone who could pull them off.

Yes, have shoe care sections – one in laundry cupboard for boot wax, suede cleaner, spare shoelaces etc. Another small area in my wardrobe next to the shoe rack is dedicated to a few special items for more frequent touch ups to footwear. Honorary Virgo In Training.

Virgo Rising, OF COURSE I own a shoe maintenance kit. And have a proper cobbler. As well as a tailor. And my own repair stuff. Unkempt is not a word I entertain anywhere around my person.

But the shoes. Ok, I admit. I DO own one RED stiletto pair with a flower near the ankle but nothing as bedazzled as this. I want to say a Toro Gone Wild would wear this a la Cher and defend my sun sign with aplomb… yet there is Eva Green and she cannot be denied. Or hidden.

And Imelda Marcos. Sigh…

Agree shoes are for a Cancerian. As a young child, I loved to polish my father’s shoes, and I would hang out in the shoe shine’s shack on my way home from school. I think it was the scent of the polish and seeing things become shiny and beautiful, transformed. I also cut my father’s hair – I was 8 or 9. He must have been mad. No, wait. He was Aquarian 😉 Well, I guess you could say I took care of him from head to toe, Libran style.

have elevated suede cleaning to an artform. sprays, magic potions, removers, et al – replete with approp equipment (brushes, clthes etc)…. tho when in doubt, head to shoe guru.

rubbed smooth as in bald?
or stained? if stained – invest in suede brush, 10 bucks from shoe dude. use the gentle end first, then restore the ‘pile’ with the more perforated side. if oil based stain – do above 1st then suede stain remover then repeat above.
if bald – use the suede brush to restore pile.

if in Sydney – shoe / bag guru – level 1 Chifley square.
NOT expensive.
If Melbourne – Greek guy in Flinders lane.
am such a nerd I use both depending on the repair / restore!!

In Sydney, past brushing to restore pile, so will try Chifley square. Thank you.

Love this bag – it’s one of those professional-for-work but can-carry-A4-papers-out-to-dinner-and-not-look-like-you’re-at-work bags that are so hard to find. I don’t know why there aren’t a million of them. Every woman needs them more than any other bag.

Yes, naturally, I own a shoe box with different polish, brushes, and cloths. I find it really satisfying to polish up the shoes, and no – the wipe-on all-in-one cheap stuff from the supermarket is not the same. Not ever. When I couldn’t remember which brush to use first in the proper sequence, I asked my Dad, whom I remember being a big brusher of shoes. Our signs? Virgo and Virgo.
