Astro-Decor-Query: Which Bedroom?

Cluttered bedroomOkay, here goes.

This should yield some interesting results.

Citing your astro-signature (Sun, Moon, Rising Sign but you can be as fancy or as simply as you want), which of these two bedrooms would you prefer to be yours? Or, which one does yours most resemble. Each are from houses featured in swank shelter mags so don’t imagine those books, above, are dusty or naff.

First, duh

Sag moon (12H) + ascendant, Leo sun (8H). Venus and Mercury are both Virgo 9th house…. Ima need those books!

Seems like lotsa people with cap/aqua/saggo influences responded when you first posted this, but here’s my two cents anyways.

(Cap sun / Aqua moon / Sag rising — Virgo midheaven for bonus points)

Maybe because the first one is in such a comfortable state of chaos, it seems more relaxed? Because in the second room, I’m fretting about the ceiling beams, the cart rolling around, the print on the wall is ugly… In the second room, I’d be worried that spiders had taken up residence in every nook and cranny.

The only resolution is to have both!

Oooohhhhhhhh the first one. That way I could unburgeon my bedside table of all the books! Gemini sun, Virgo rising…

Love both and have had both…now have a zen blend of artfully arranged precious stuff…all around the house…..in the end its about the room (and bookshevles) also as canvas.

I naturally gravitate to the first… but as a seeker of zen perfection the second is the fantasy choice… if I could remove everything but the bed and photo/headboard.

Without a doubt, the first bedroom! It looks so much like my old room and how my room would look now if I didn’t just impulsively elope to the other side of the country.

The first one definitely. I actually found this image a while ago and saved it because I thought it was such an excellent bedroom.

hi everyone!

for all of my life and up until 5 months ago i would have chosen the first one. but… i’m going for number 2. i would probably get rid of the other stuff as well. strategically chosen and placed fresh flowers etc. de-clutter feng shui makeover. books from pic 1 would slowly make their way into strategic zones, but only for a few days at a time.

um. aye.

The first one, for sure…

Leo Sun, Scorpio Rising, Moon in Pisces…

The window looks more approachable, and my favorite thing ever is dark-colored walls + lots of books! It’s just more romantic, and has more character, imo.

The first one is PERFECT.

I’m Aries, Pisces Rising and Moon in Gem. I also have Pisces in Venus, Merc and Mars.

Aquarius Sun, Aquarius Moon, Pices Rising . . .
Bedroom #2 is almost my bedroom now. But I must say the wood platform would drive me insane. The pointed corners say “Stay away.” Or “ouch” on the shins. Of course, the linens need adjusting. More down, softer colors, and strategic candelight.
Bedroom #1 isn’t the bedroom, it’s the library. And the office. And the music room.
I’m lucky to have both because I’d never make up my mind.

Virgo sun, Pisces rising, Libra moon.
I love the first and it reminds me a little of my room, even the way the books are sometimes on their side because they don’t fit in my incredibly pathetic shelf system, and the little pictures annoyingly sitting in front of books! Treasure everywhere!
Didn’t like the stuffed animal and I would prefer the bigger bed with that luscious duvet in the second photo.
Oh and maybe a plant near the window to clean up the air a little….

Virgo Sun, Scorp Rising, Leo Moon My bedroom would be a mash of the two. Have bed right in the middle, lots of space and lots of light. But also as I love to hoarde and read I just have books everywhere like the top one….. And I mean I like to be tidy and clean but at the same time love the way my posessions look when they are artfully strewn… But for the sake of the astroquery I would pick the top one. Looks so good for hiding away from the world when shit just gets too much.… Read more »

Taurus sun/moon, Virgo rising

*looks at pile of books on and around nightstand*

The first is more accurate though definitely a bigger bed is needed. Would love something a bit more like the second (I dream of streamlined Scandinavian design) but it would never stay that way–first there’d be a rug to shield my my tooties from the cold, bare, floor, then risers to give the bed some left and save me having to crawl in and out of bed and, before long, it’d look like the first one anyway!

Yes me too Peg! Both! 1st is perfect office – also for those little naps, um, deep thought processing etc. Though don’t like the beams overhead in the 2nd one – almost seem more oppressive than all the books on bookshelves, or the blown-up poster of what looks like a factory town…but if was large blown-up photo of somewhere else gorgeous, then much better and some nice cushions etc…

My own room spare and uncluttered but also luxe and cosy and light.

Virgo sun/ascendent and Libra moon. I am all about the first bedroom, except I would reorganize the book shelves so that the books would be arranged in order by height with the shelves alternating high to low and low to high. The shelves that are perpendicular to each other as well as the shelves interrupted by the beautiful painting (I think it’s a painting, at least) would also have to alternate, so the surrounding of books would be like the waves of the ocean. Plus there’s a cat in the room. How could anyone resist the cat?!

Deigie

Sun: Virgo Ascendant: Leo Moon: Aries I’m not quite sure I could live in either space! The first one would be absolutely dreadful. I’m a great lover of books, but who in Goddess’ name organized that room? I think I’d have a panic attack figuring out which item to dust first! And the stuffed dead animal? Eww. The second room is a little easier to deal with, probably easier to keep clean. But I think it’s a little too devoid of personality for my taste. Give me some red bricks, a nice rug, more pictures on the wall, and maybe a… Read more »

Libra Sun/Aries Moon/Scorp rising. The top room resembles my apartment & I prefer that – I’m not minimalist by any stretch. Two things, though: there should be a proper bed – with a headboard. I’m not sleeping on a table, thank you very much. Also, I need more natural light – tear down the ceiling & replace it with a skylight & you have my perfect hidey-hole refuge. (I’m guessing it’s my scorp rise who likes the secretiveness of the cluttered batcave of a room, & my libra sun likes the artsy-literary-coziness – especially because of the lovely carved detailing… Read more »

Sun Taurus, Cancer Rising and Cancer Moon.

Mmmm. That first one dazzles me with all the books. And the bed looks damn comfy too! Perfect for snuggling up and reading all those books.
But I’d want to organize a bit more. Maybe try to reduce the clutter. It hurts my eyes a bit with all the extra going on. Definitely find a brighter painting and change up the bedsheets to something else. Anything to break up all that dark, dark, DARK. I love dark, but not that much!
And do I spy an animal? Oh I hope its alive…

Kataka sun, Libra rising, Capricorn moon

First room is way too dark and depressing for me. That charred looking ceiling, and is that a stuffed fox or something? Creepy. Plus I’m a librarian and I would feel too much like I was sleeping at work.

Second room attracts Libra asc because it’s light and airy, but it’s not nearly cosy enough for Kataka sun, and Capricorn moon would like to know where the storage space is.

Definitely prefer the first room with all the books (although that stuffed mammal would be in the trash lickety-split).

my leo sun, aries moon boyfriend’s room looks JUST LIKE #1….haha. From reading the comments I see that leos really are drawn to that 🙂 It’s pretty cozy. I personally (cancer sun, taurus moon) prefer #2 but it’s a TAD too sparse. I like a lot more breathing room than my boyfriend. I want my bedroom to just have a bed in it. And really fluffy pillows and blankets.

Pisces Sun, Aries Rising, Leo Moon

I LOVE all the books…but it’s far too dark, plus I feel that I would trip and knock over things 24/7. I like the lightness and the modern aesthetic of room #2 but I don’t like the actual pieces in it (except for the bed).

I would have to move all the books (minus knick-knacks) into room #2 and then edit away that picture behind the bed (unattractive, plus I would damage it in nano-sec!)

Combo of both?

Oh and I would add mirrors, lots of mirrors.

i am having some sort of lust attack looking at the first one…its the books, the aged floor, the gothic-ish vibe

and the parchment paper on the floor….the smell of aged tomes….OH MY….

i wouldnt get a wink of sleep though….need something more basic

Cap Sun, Pisces Moon, Scorp Rising I like the platform in the first room. Very cool. I would like that library to go to another room. Or the platform. I only have the books I’m reading right now in my bedroom. Does anyone else get the feeling that all the clutter is about to fall right off those shelves in the middle of the night? I noticed that the bed is single. Hopefully a king single. I don’t like the bottom bedroom as much as I usually like loft bedrooms. Bedroom 1. resembles my bedroom/living space during my 20’s and 30’s.
Bedroom 2 is what my bedroom looks like now – minus the beams. I love the industrial zen look but that photo would have to go! So depressing.

I ADORE looking at the first photo though, to me it screams a creative person lives there. It would make a much better living room though. My books and CD’s are things i can never throw away and they create a nice topic of conversation with visitors.

no probs at all. I think they’re in simpatico. It’s my Sagg moon that is a problem for my Scorp sun sometimes. Hehe.
Scorp wants to be secretive and Sagg moon wants to tell the world. Scorp wants love to be a Wuthering Heights exprience and Sagg is like “love? eeeeuw, who needs that! i’m outta here” I need a LOT of space.

How about you, have you noticed anything between your saggi moon and north node?

Scorpalicious robot

Sassy, I should add, that I love, love, love my Sagg moon and it’s all the seemingly incompatible aspects/planets that make us interesting. Still haven’t quite worked out the relevance of nodes yet. Should explore further. 🙂

The ol scorp..heheh. Yes i suppose that is like day and night. Im so comfy with my sagg moon, but the north node is where you must learn and develop, node in gem, its kind of wants you to get the facts and stay put, where i just want to roam and be idealistic and philosphical, rant and rave about things, not be concrete or solid… I tent to get on my high horse a bit too, talking about high ideals and ways to live etc i think it is my sagg moon…. Gemini north node is about learning how… Read more »

Yes! now that you put it like that, perhaps there is a bit of conflict. Hehe. Really not good at simple talk or chit chat, i want to go deep and yes, at 9am. AFTER i’ve had my coffee of course. Hehe. I’m aware of south nodes being associated with past lives – probably why I’ve had lots of karmic pay-off type relationships/flings with Saggos. It’s going to be a struggle to harness that restless wandering energy. My heart aches when i see photos of exotic faraway places i want to visit. I’ll have to have another squiz at my… Read more »

I’m a Capricorn Sun, Virgo rise and Aqua Moon. Plus, Cap Mercury and Sun-Saturn conjunction. #1 is beautiful, but for show-off purposes only. I wouldn’t be able to sleep in there – too dark, too small, too much stuff around it. And dear lord, I have headaches just thinking about the pain it’d be to clean it – or paying a cleaning professional to do it. And I’d go crazy OCD putting the books by author, size, year of edition, etc etc etc… Beautiful, not practical whatsoever. #2 is nice… I love natural light and waking up to it. And… Read more »

Love and feel very familiar with number one. It could actually be part of my house, and even my bedroom looked similar until recently. I decided to relocate my slumber area and de-clutter somewhat. It’s not sterile and magaziney like number 2 but has significantly more breathing space.

Gemini sun and moon, asc in Scorpio

I’m immediately attracted to the first one, all those books are like magnets to me, but, i wouldn’t be able to sleep in there. Not because of distraction , just because it would feel too cluttered and opressive. It’s too dark!

I prefer the second one because it’s “airy”, with natural light. The bed looks comfortable too.
The celing looks to heavy and i don’t like it at all , but still, i would choose it over the first room any time!

Actually , it resembles my bedroom a bit 🙂
