Astrology and Perfume are connected in strange, subtle ways. Our astrological element inspires our favorite genre of scent, as seen in our first fragrance. Through the haze of teenage trends and the sort of scent choice dictated by peer pressure, there is a distinct signal. It’s elemental. Fire signs are drawn to Earthy green scents, to balance their energy out. Water signs often like the metallic, detached cool of a Chypre while Air signs like to encrypt their aura with an Oriental or even a heavy-hitter, huge silage, old-school spice-grenade type fragrance. And what of the Earth signs? They’re big on the florals, the more like an actual field of flowers the better.
Of course, there are variations within this. Fragrance is often the realm of the Moon, so look to your Moon sign for your optimal scent, rather than the Sun. Or, if you really want to align your aura with your genre, look at your Astral DNA chart and find the dominant element. It is the one with the highest percentage. To use a personal example, I have Moon in Libra and am drawn to Orientals and the sort of intensity they suggest but which my temperament lacks. But as a mostly Water element person, I feel better in the chillier scents such as Cristalle. It’s aloofness empowers.
White Flower Scents Are Super Libra
My first scent was a gift from my pharmacist Leo Uncle. He was also a Freemason and had some knowledge of occult subjects, the Eye of Horus and such-like. Frustratingly, he would never elaborate. Anyway, he gave me the super-green, very post-Saturn-Return Ma Griffe. It never felt quite right; boys said it smelled “clean” but sophisticated women on the bus would compliment my scent trail. The first one I got for myself and adored was the original Chloe – super Tuberose and a direct “hello” to my Libra Moon. White flowers scents are super-Libra.
Astrology and perfume connections become more profound the longer you contemplate them.
We eventually return to our early scent genre and every seven years make a drastic reset. The fragrances composed by the old-school, early 20th Century, masters are often superior. They were created with the mindset of an alchemist, not an accountant.
