Astro-Homer

Filed in Taurus

Portrait of Homer SimpsonHomer Simpson is, apparently, a Taurus. This fits – yes? The Missus, Marge, is a Gemini – this is all from the official sitebtw & Bart Simpson is an Aries. I could not find the birthdates of the rest BUT does anyone more Simpsons aware than I have an idea whether the Taurus & Gemini thing resonates for their relationship? It would need to be great sex, i am thinking. A Gemini woman would tend to be driven mad by a lower-Taurus buffoon such as Homer lying on the couch eating donuts and all. Perhaps she finds him amusing? If the Bart character were ever allowed to grow up, he’d so take Homer out. As in smackdown. Don’t you think? Aries boys like active dads with trophies all over the shop & prone to giving motivational pep talks to help hone the Aries brilliance.

Homie !

I guess Marge is Gemini, with those long limbs. But I guess shes Virgo rising by the looks of things. Most people say Lisas aquarius, but I think shes a libran. Well I guess with that political interest, Musical interest and great manners. You could tell shes libran.

If Homies a Taurus. I’d always thought Marge was a Cappy.

Speaking as a Toro who has been with a Gem… its a hilarious and evil rollercoaster.
I am not a sedentary Toro by any means… I can out pace most people. But the Gems *whistles*

I liken it unto a pretty mirrorball made out of razor blades.

Homer is definitely Taurus. But Marge, she has to be Cancer.

I think the astro fits. But if Marge is a Gemini she MUST have a Virgo Rising, don’t you reckon? She gets too overwhelmed by systems and structures breaking down. But definitely the wacky Gemini sense of style – look at the hair!
I agree, Lisa is an Aquarius, with some Leo in her – she does love the spotlight and is a musical prodigy…
Young Maggie, the gentle child genius, would have to be a Capricorn. 😉

Yeah, I love the Homer-Marge marriage. There’s something so completely impossible about it, which makes it utterly romantic.

The thing about Taureans is that they’re lovely and usually undeniably toally HOT, and the reliability and the sensuality, etc etc, and even though each Taurean I know is an intelligent person, isn’t there something about their plodding ways and that kind of vacant, stubborn, obstinate stare they get that makes them seem really, really dumb?

You know, no offense to Taureans out there! I really do love youse all.

omg! I”ve been on the receiving end of that stare. I thought it was just the toro’s military-practised ways of not showing shock / fear / sudden emotion. Maybe it is a taurus thing. I couldn’t work out if it was an incomprehending stare or a practised stare to hide things…….hmm food for thought…mmm.. food…

Heh heh heh. I know that ‘vacant, stubborn, obstinate stare’ well (although it only applies to the Taurean men I know, not the women). It does make them *seem* really dumb but they are most certainly not. I think what they are actually doing is strategically thinking of ways to maintain their comfort.

hazelbb – Homer is the last person on the planet i’d call hot, he’s the opp of hot. No offence to Toros, whom i adore.

I agree that someone that two-dimensional, four-fingered and yellow-skinned would struggle to be hot in our world, but perhaps in his world…..

I really was thinking of human Taureans!

Homer is the most complete ‘character’ the small screen has had for 30 years. His creator is a genius. Its the ‘romantic notions’ that keep them together, cause when ever marge has had enough Homer cries, does crazy romantic things..I loved that episode when she threw him out and he ended up living with that gay couple.

What a great picture! Restores one’s faith in postmodernism!

i think marge would have to have some tolerant / lounge-loving Cancerian influences to tolerate homer’s…idiocy, er i mean habits.
and they never have bad moments in the sack – not infrequent references / scenes for, well, good lovin’!!.

Lisa would have to be ..well she’s conscientious, intelligent / diligent, sidelined by the mean/ popular kids but has had the odd bad-boy romance (Nelson), doesn’t like to break the rules…but is also a partner in crime with Bart at times, idealistic, peace-loving, experimented with Buddhism….could she be..a Pisces? not that I’m biased ;). perhaps with Virgo or aqua influences?

Aello
Aello

Pisces? I don’t know… Lisa’s more drive than dreamy. She’s got that hidden competitive streak as well – remembering the diorama, ice hockey… So something’s going on with Mars. Maybe an air sign cos she’s so intellectual?
UP, you could be right about the Aqua influence; Lisa accepts her difference, has strong ideals and is rebellious. Remember when she stole all the teacher’s books to expose their ignorance?

unpredictable pisces

a conscientous Aquarian perhaps? half rebel yet half worrying about consequences. ans yes there is that drive to consider (not that pisceans are not driven…einstein, michaelangelo, but that’s more internal drive for universal perfection than external validation…) as i sent that last post i did think – hang on , maybe she is more Aqua…

perfection – maybe universal ‘expression’ perhaps. agh ok i am now OFF this blog for a day… MUST WORK damn you void moon

Dammit. 😉 Thanks for your responsible reminder. I have packing to do. Got a good start with the Mars-Pluto-Merc bizzo (Merc rules my 4th and Mars is charging through it) but more to go.

Maybe it’s the Gem in me but I do love Mystic’s astrological analysis of cartoon characters. Educational fun. I was once married to a slothful, inert Taurus. Of course, I acknowledge that these adjectives are from my Geminian POV. A la Homer, my ex liked to stay at home and do the same things all the blinking time. Change? Pah! Nothing new, ever the same. Eventually my perpetual frustration in the relationship (that ‘strained quality’ NSV mentions), finally provoked the bull into action and that was that. I think Marge stays to keep Bart out of gaol and to keep… Read more »

HA!
LOVE THE SIMPSONS!
the gem-taurus thing would so work – two of my best friends have now hooked up (ones a gem the other a taurean) now i’m not sure if its the Gem-Tauren sex factor or teenage hormones because i swear they’re always OVER one another…
i swear it embarassing!

That’s really interesting… my parents also have the Gemini/Taurus combo.. My Mum is so like Marge, it’s spooky. (there’s an episode where Marge cleans the house because she fears what the cleaners will think of her… my mum has also done the same thing… I put this down to the Virgo moon)
I wouldn’t say my Dad is totally like homer, but his only way of relaxing is to sit down on the sofa and not move/talk for a few hours, which my gemini mum finds infuriating!
I wonder what Lisa is… I feel I am the most like her.

not-so-virginal
not-so-virginal

well it does resonate, because they remind me of my parents in a way. i think homer IS totally bovine and I can see my own mother in Marge. my parents were mismatched in a similar way although Dad is a scorp so much more control-freaky/judgemental. like my mum, Marge is naturally smart but sort of hemmed in by societal expectations re: her generation of women. she can be spot on about things but also has that strained quality that all geminis trapped in a relationship with a particularly inert earth or water sign can get. in a bad situation… Read more »
