Alien Landscape Q: What is the best placement for Saturn?

A: In someone else’s chart.

Lol & happy Saturn Direct. Note; The house where Saturn lurks in your chart is often the source of some pain in earlier life but becomes buffed up into your shining pride later, post-Saturn Return et al. Anyway, Saturn is stationing Direct & so tangible signs of the new era are all around you, ready or not.

Two things; it would be apt to limit the Mercury Retro nostalgia/backward analysis as much as poss, brush away a tear, scrub up and get set to move on with courage & grace…Embrace the new thing with open arms.

And that note how Saturn even now is beginning to make the opposition with Uranus again so that sensation of having amazing Uranian visions & innovation that have to be balanced with an apparently relentless details/things-to-be-done/$$$/health maintenance mania is BACK & building.

You can try to balance it all out with grace (the Security V.s. Intimacy thing or the Creative Vision v.s practical concerns) OR you can oscillate insanely between three day tequila & art jags and kombucha fuelled kundalini contemplation stints.

Saturn in Sag straddles my 5th/6th houses with Sag on the cusp. Saturn also trines Uranus in Leo (2nd).

I’m a Gemini (12th) – in the past, allowed depletion of energy with BS relationships that left me feeling victimized.

Saturn, along with growth transits helped me set boundaries, limits, finish projects, and create goals.

I AM GRATEFUL FOR SATURN!

Saturn in the 4th here as well and agree with the comment of this placement being challenging as to setting boundaries.

Sorry to shamelessly plug my site Mystic, but did I hear someone say ‘Saturn Return Support Group’? Cough, cough: http://astroharmonia.blogspot.com I have been toying with the idea of starting some sort of dedicated SR blog since the beginning of my crazy 7th house Saturn Return last year, and just a few weeks ago thought, bugger it, I’m just going to do it. My DNA definately caught a cosmic whiff of Saturn going forward again, since this energy is starting to feel great! Okay so my blog is at its babiest beginning stages, but come on by and say hi, and… Read more »

Any idea what Saturn in the fourth house means? i think it’s in Gemini, if I’m reading my chart right.

4th house represents home, family, security and stability, so Saturn there implies difficulties, restrictions and lessons related to those issues.
Hard work and persistence in establishing your inner strength will pay off. Saturn always rewards.

Über Virgo

Scorpalish is spot on. I have Saturn in the fourth, so family baggage, and lots of conflict and restriction at home during childhood, which made it a challenge for me to develop self confidence and self belief.

That’s history now. I’ve gone out of my way not to live like that and found functional relationships outside of family. Family is still as screwed up as ever, but it’s not my problem.

davidl
davidl

Feelings of equanimity between family and those outside of it are usually frowned upon in our society. Though once you can break the hold that unhealthy family power trips have, the whole world becomes your family.

Saturn (retro) in 4th here too Uber – and yes, lots of conflict in my family home. Add 2 Capricorn parents = mega limits, rules & restrictions on me exploring my world, which has had big impact on my self esteem & confidence. Just really discovered the concepts of self esteem & confidence in my 40’s, geez louise talk about slow! I think this placement has also been a challenge for me in setting my own boundaries. Robots is right – The Work brings rewards.

davidl, yo bro, go the fro x

I’ve come to be a fan of slow, nat. Sometimes stuff takes a long time for good reason – to truly sink in. The result can be richer and deeper, less likely to get the wobbles and disintegrate. I reckon I was 35 before I began to get a handle on the family crap, and I’m improving with practice. I guess that’s Saturn for ya.

That’s a nice thought david, and so true. I have a huge family now.

Thanks Quadfish. I guess you must be my nemesis if you have four fish planets. We’d certainly hit it off. One of my best friends is the Über Pisces. I worship her and bow to her every whim. Pity she’s not very whimsical.

Hey, and I reckon I’d like Tennesee. It’s supposed to be really pretty, although the banjo and pitchfork factor is a slight worry.

Stay tuned and don’t hide those watery charms.

My Saturn is in Taurus in the 2nd – am hoping Saturn going direct FINALLY will bring my sense of self back on track… I also have Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus all in Capricorn, all in the 11th house – I am well acquainted with Saturn, believe me!!

Ok, i just checked and saturn appears 3 times in my chart,
Saturn Conjunction Ascendant 5°21
Mercury Square Saturn 0°09
&
Venus Trine Saturn 1°42
i dont know why but i am feeling concerned about the Venus trine Saturn, which -now i am still learning- i think means that when it comes to love and all other things brought on by venus, i am very reserved and conservative??????
lol anyways
i give my best to Leo S – your making the right decision for yourself 🙂

prowlncat

Venus trine Saturn is gooooood Matt. It means your relationships will be grounded in reality and not floaty, pie in the sky bollocks. You are stable, trustworthy and responsible in your relationships and people can depend on you – plus it’s something that comes naturally to you, it’s just you, not a major effort or something you have to “learn”. You look more for the long term than the casual fling … geez I know you’re only 15 and all, but when you grow up you can be my boyfriend! hehehe

Oscillating insanely between three day tequila & art jags and kombucha fuelled kundalini contemplation stints??? Mystic, have you been spying on me?

Trying soooo hard not to be nostalgic and to pull up my socks and be brave, hard working etc……but my goodness it’s hard!!! Particularly when I’m so far away from those who know me the best. New friends are great, but when it comes to reminding you how far you’ve come, how much you’ve achieved, and how capable you really are, you just can’t beat the old faithfuls.

ooh hello typical T. I was just about to make a very similar comment – although i was going to add, “what’s so bad about oscillating between 3-day tequila and art jags, followed by meditation retreats + puritan work slog? keeps life interesting…although praps not THAT sustainable (tequila jags get expensive…)

How fascinating and timely. It was almost exactly 6 months ago i had my horrific meeting with a huge well-known publisher who was utterly rude and contemptible and since then I have almost entirely re-written the book. Back on the horse, saturn-style, re-building my self-esteem after her words of nastiness…it’s only in the last week i’ve seen them as nasty though, for the past 6 months i’ve been feeling i ‘deserved’ her scorn and wanting to re-write the book for her. Sudden epiphanies this week: every publisher BUT her gets a look at new manuscript. You just don’t treat people… Read more »

GUYS, i now get it. Just home from a night in which i as ASKED to delineate whether i was yet legally separated or divorced etc…never mind how do i feel INDEED. THat path in the pic is very approriate, to me, this whole week has been entirely about blissful times with people i realise actually like ME and the horrid, HORRID awareness that the man whom i bore children to etc etc and whom I LOVED well before he made proper money, i adored him, is just NOT the man i loved. My Saturn is in Gemini in the 12th … which means … what??? Maybe that I’ll finally become the high functioning flake I’ve always dreamed of being? lol … probably more that I’m accepting that I am a bit of a flake in the first place … hehe

Ha. Gimme a F. Gimme a L. Gimme an A. Gimme a K. Gimme an E! What does it spell? PROWLN! I’ll start the Saturn Return fan club, you can be a one-woman cheer squad for the ‘Gemini in the twelve self-prescribed flakes’!

I’m in the twelfth in Virgo. Does that mean I’ll become my own OCD dream?

ROFL! maybe but you’ll be very secretive about it … carrying around little mini squirt bottles of anti-bacterial agent and furtively hand washing whilst nobody’s looking. That red marking pen’s gonna go ballistic …

Thanks Myst. And that’s totally how it feels. Leaving one world, and going into another but taking the wisdom of experience with you. Okay that’s a bit cheesy but still. You get the point.

I might form a Saturn fan club (or Saturn Return support club). Though maybe that’s the Scorpy ascendant speaking, self flagellation anyone?

Hey gem, that’s cool. If you make a good go of the first Saturn return, the midlife transits are less of a shit fight.

I wish I’d discovered the riches of astro earlier. I envy you.

agreed, Uber, do the work while your single and strong, who needs to deal with that shit later on. But mumps ! now thats really pushing limits..hang in there, gem, you’ll only look like Winston Churchill for a few days. By the way, just rest up in bed and get everything delivered, a bulk order of tim tams may be in order.

Thanks lovelies. At least I have flatmates to share my quarantine with. I reckon bulk wine might be the go. And a pile of books. Mumps Schmumps. If I can survive Saturn Return, stupid ol’ mumps ain’t got no chance of beating me!

gem le im also a huge fan of saturn…i always think its better to do the hard yards now in order to live authentically then take the easy route. in terms of my saturn ‘work’ being directly in the middle of staurn uranus opp, i psychoanalyzed my last relationship via fifty different perspectives to try and understand why it didnt work out/who was wrong/ was i crazy to think it would work in the fist place. i did it to be able to live with myself, and for a while i just thought i was crazy, but having been reading… Read more »

Piceaness you are totally right, your living authentically comment really resonated with me. Is hard work but worth it. I’m no love expert, actually the demise of my last love sent me into the Saturn return spin and helped me devise my plan (which is totally working, how ace!) but these are two things I think; 1). Sometimes it takes far longer than you would like for the Universe to reveal the WHY of love affairs (but that generally, like a frustrating know-it-all, the Universe sends the people you need EXACTLY when you need them). Analysing everyone’s role is good… Read more »

I’m happy for Saturn to move forward. Enough already of this dratted toing and froing over all my Virgo planets. I think it finishes spinning its wheels over my Pluto & Uranus in September, which is when I hope to have the Über project finished. Balancing creative genius while on the brink of financial oblivion can be somewhat nerve racking.

How many sleeps til September?

Oh, and you can keep Merc retro too. Car has a leaking water pump, laptop about to clap out, and took over two hours to get new router working today after the old one faked its own death. Started working again after I bought the new one. So much for getting work done.

So if “the house where Saturn lurks in your chart is often the source of some pain in earlier life”, does this mean I can blame the fact my flatmate has just got MUMPS at the age of 25 (and quite possibly given them to me) on the fact I’ve just turned 29 and Saturn is in my twelfth house in Virgo? Okay tenuous/non existent link but SERIOUSLY! Mumps?! Sheesh. Seriously though. Have just been/still going through the most profound Saturn Return (yes yes its my first, but still). I’ve had this plan for dealing with all the emotional crap… Read more »

Im natal saturn in the 7th (stationing) in capricorn, I think I should be an honorary goat with that position. All I can say is there is no questioning the power of saturn in cap. it rules. and its definitely not a lot of fun, at the best of times. Happy its moving forward ? I think?

on the positive side Davidl, in your 7th it adds great stability to your marriage once you’ve sorted out it’s negative side

last year when pluto slipped into cap it conjucted my saturn in cap, a really strong influence was noticed, as you would imagine…(.yikes, just realised its going to happen again ? ). your right chess, took me a while to find her and we had work to do, reaping the benefits now. Sigh
