Pimp My Dream…

Red Fox in the Snow

I had the best & most amazing dream!

It was that I could hear this scuffling in the ceiling & opened a previously unseen trapdoor thing – in some trepidation, expecting something vile to skitter out – and it was this gorgeous red fox with big green eyes & he could talk to me!  I can’t recall the details of the conversation except that this was an exceptionally benevolent & astute foxly presence & he (it was a he) said he had come from “the boat”.

Any interps so welcome!  And, i hadn’t been thinking of foxes & normally i don’t really have a fox thing. My most profound animal totem style dreams have usually involved ravens, phoenixes & lionesses.  BTW – as I think i have said – normal communication may be bats and/or infested with control dramas in the next 12 days but dream messaging works just fine. Way more lucid/lurid than usual.

well “The Boys Club” at Channel 9 have, for once, taken a stand by scking Matthew Johns indefinitely, tho giving him an airing tonight on ACA at 6.30. wondering if, like his “apology” last week on The Footy Show – if Fatty’ll be there to pat him on the back “well said mate….now lets get on with the show”. Gallops zero tollerance stance, tho belated, is at least a start. lets hope that with dwindling at game attendances combined with acceptance of the culture of sex / booze / violence within NRL that the game will kill itself out. Myst-alicious – tis most certainly time for your inner Fox (as in hottness) to come out!! Agree with The Leo Socialite re timing – dumping the U & Rugger stud bought on probings of sub / higher concsiousness? BTW wondering if Rugger Stud watched ABC Four Corners on NRL gang-bang culture last night? MM I know you dont have a tele but replay tonight 11.30pm – balanced journalism. Matthew Johns got a logie & brave giril who was gang banged by Cronulla Sharks became suicidal…… Seriously, if in OZ & missed it worth a watch. Rugby League (& other code)… Read more »

It was time those guys were exposed! Especially that vile Matthew Johns and his hypersexed homophobic and mysogynistic hijinks. Real funny isn’t he? Now that the cat’s out of the bag.

Very lower 8th house! The episode should also be available on the abc website.

I think it’s interesting that it came right after you decided to get rid of both your aquarius men mystic. So it is like a friendly fox – cunning & adaptable, on your side and a therapist i saw years ago said ceiling dreams were your higher mind and the basement your subconscius. So this is something sacred. A spirit messenger saying that – i dunno – you need to be more calculating? Foxes cover their tracks and double back a lot do they not? Maybe you “cover your tracks” so far as these guys are concerned? What do other… Read more »

I agree with a few people there – I think the door to the attic is the clincher. Jung had a lot to say about seeing the psyche as a house. He himself had a dream about going down into the cellar and finding bones. He recommended visualising a door and staircase to a cellar when trying to access the subconscious. You had a door to the ceiling…you are an astrologer – always looking up! Now you’ve found a door in the ceiling you didn’t know was there, and there’s something beautiful and intelligent waiting for you. I think it’s… Read more »

foxes are Mercurial, too… just thought I’d add my two cents worth. Whenever I’ve dreamed foxes they’ve been guides. I’d do an ‘active imagination’ if I were you Mystic. Get into a meditative state, as to meet the fox again.. ask the fox ‘what it wants’. Or do some automatic writing – write a letter to your dream fox and write a letter back from it. house is ‘the Self’ or structure of the psyche, according to Jung et al. Doors are, well, doors. Hillman teaches to stop interpreting dreams – because interpreting is a Solar activity and dreams are… Read more »

TA, you’ve just negated about 50% of how I help people with their probs. 😆 Dreams can be a valuable tool to help people search for their own answers.

taurean alchemist

sorry Chesh, not my intention at all. Some of us need help with dream images, so what you do is indeed valuable.

‘according to your system of belief, you are right’ is what the alchemists say – in other words, Hillmans lunar way works for me, and others have their ways that work for them.

all of life is a dream to me, synchronicity and omens and cledons and symbols all make meaning, every day – these things I can be sure of – but I like my night world to more mysterious.

I think I get what Hillman means. Dreams can be so complex, ambiguous and many layered in their own right, it’s good to resist rigid interpretations. Still, shining some solar light on the moonie stuff makes it easier to make sense of them and also to begin a dialogue about them with others that may help in uncovering deeper meanings.

Like my friend’s dream below, she kind of knew what it meant but when we discussed it and it was confirmed that a fish is a common fertility symbol it gave her more reassurance that her instinct was correct.

taurean alchemist

yep, discussion is good – sometimes just listening to ourselves talk about our dreams is enough to trigger or deepen understanding. my mother always claimed to have prophetic dreams. She just loves to tell me what my dreams mean – and all of it is just her judgement with a whole heap of witchy-poo manipulation thrown in. Just recently she claimed she dreamed CUB was sexually molesting my children. She has since then become irrationally hateful toward him and doesn’t even try to hide it. She seriously believes her dark dirty dreams about him and my children are a prophesy.… Read more »

LL no, she’s moved away… about five hours drive away… still visits though – she is in ‘delaide at the mo helping my sister move house, and stayed here a couple of days last week for the baby’s birthday celebrations (and an early mothers day)

LL it was a looooong time to have my childhood bogeyman (bogeymum) in the house – four/five months. But it was good – I got to put my principles into practice. Non-resistance has been real Work to learn, but SO worth it. I must admit I kinda lost it a bit when it came to the CUB, because of the whole historic programming of anger and fear around men in our family – and all the effort I have gone to to heal myself and my daughters of it. When I say I lost it, I definitely understood where she… Read more »

exactly Übey, I use it as a tool to open dialogue and the thinking process among other techniques.

TA, to an extent I agree with James Hillman’s theory on fixing images with meaning and losing the overall picture. Sort of aiming at seeing the whole forest and not the individual tree.

taurean alchemist
taurean alchemist

yes Chesh, exactly. I think he uses the analogy of a painting – a dream is like a painting in that it doesn’t have a beginning or an end – it happens all at once…we can examine any one part of it in no particular order. (his Dream and the Underworld is one of my fave books ever). One thing Hillman says over and over in all of his work is ‘stick with the image’ – that is to say – let it be what it is.

TA, I think it’s interesting that both James Hillman and Joseph Campbell are Arians. Two of my fav reads

I go with my gut. Get into a relaxed state, curb thinking and wait for associations to arise, from the images, word associations, feelings. Jungian basics are good, encouraging the most personal interpretation from the feelings that you had within the dream. Symbol books etc can be a bit limiting, but fun to look at regardless. Funnily, a friend of mine had a dream at the time she had her IVF egg transfer that a big fish swallowed up some smaller fish. She knew instinctively what the dream meant but wasn’t aware that a fish can be a symbol of… Read more »

Well, the others have mentioned what I was going to; cunning, wit, etc. 🙂 I loved that you thought it was going to be an icky thing from the trap door but by going through it you were rewarded with this wonderful creature! Gawwwwgeous! From what I’ve read Dreaming Life foxes (as well as Waking Life ones) are also resourceful, so that may tie in with your recent Scorp Full Moon synchronicities with finding out more about the uranian & then dumping him. You were blessed with resources, which showed up when you were ready for them. As for the… Read more »

Cool interps. I like the boat coming from Styx, and I like aello’s overall interp. Coming from the boat is unusual for a fox, so apart from the crossing waters imagery, this energy/wisdom may come from left field, brought by an unusual encounter, which you had plenty of over the weekend. The ceiling is higher consciousness, higher mind, and foxes are agile, uncanny and deft at escaping danger. (In Japan, they’re usually associated with female tricksters.) So some new mental/spiritual agility. I like how it can talk to you, signifying direct communication between conscious and unconscious, and I’m interested in… Read more »

I reckon your going to meet a ‘foxy’ new man with beautiful green eyes…just reveal stuff about yourself SLOWLY, don’t be too quick to trust him!

cheshire cap

A ceiling represents the limitations we set ourselves so by opening and looking through it means that you are looking to rise above your own limitations. Anything in a dream represents ourselves so the fox is you. Because a fox can represent behind the scenes investigating, it could simply be your feeling of satisfaction from your detective work re Uranian. As I’ve said here before, it’s the feelings associated with the dream that are important. Friendly benevolent green eyes are healing. A boat is the obvious part floating on a sea (emotions) It’s the part you can see. If the… Read more »

Fox

To see a fox in your dream, represents insight, cleverness, cunningness and resourcefulness. Perhaps the dream is telling you that you need to exhibit more of these qualities in your waking life. Or that you need to conceal your thoughts and remain silent about some situation. Alternatively, it indicates a period of isolation or loneliness. You may take this time to ponder some issue or reflect upon your life. The dream could be a metaphor for someone who is a “fox”, as in a foxy lady.

sneaking dream interp at work with psycho tantie-chucking superior in cube next door…

new trap door in ceiling = new access to higher self.

male fox = active cunning, from a boat = riding emotions.

overall = new found spiritual ability to negotiate tricksy world with stealth thanks to emotional journeys?

other fox thoughts that randomly come to mind: they are notorious eaters of chickens so… no longer being chicken, getting what you need? and being a fox or a vixen means you have sex appeal as well. lucky you!

definitely an auspicious one.

This dream reminds me of something I had completely forgotten about. A few years ago, I awoke one morning, went to my window which looks out onto the verandah, peeked outside & there was a fox sitting there. It turned & looked at me for what felt like a full minute, we were transfixed. Then it turned away & leapt off the verandah. I don’t know what made me get up& go to the window but it was a quite special interaction we shared.

Leonine Librarian

I’ve melded a few things from a couple of different sources. Because the fox comes through a door that opens into the inside, it may denote your desire for inner exploration and self-discovery. To see a ceiling in your dream, reinforces a representation of a mental or spiritual perspective. It may also symbolize the limit you have set for yourself. The benevolence of the fox tends to lend credence to it being positive influence rather than leading you astray, in my opinion. I’m not sure how much this would apply…but this is some info regarding the fox as a totem.… Read more »

Foxes in many mythologies are shape-shifters and often denote someone ‘in disguise’… So perhaps you are not noticing this surprisingly astute and benevolent male energy in your life because it is being ‘disguised’ as something else…??
Coming ‘from the Boat’ makes me think of Charon, ferrying people across the River Styx into the Underworld. AND, with those flickering green eyes of your fox, v. interesting ‘cos CHARON actually means “Keen Gaze / Feverish Sight”…

Lexicorn

And an addendum to the above – and as you are an Astrologer this is prob pointing out the obvious to you – but surely the Charon in Foxes clothing concept has some credit / significance when dreaming this under a Scorp Moon, what with the Charon-Pluto-dual-sub-planet-whatevs-they-are-now thing… what that significance is – f’ed if I know?? – that’s more for an astrologer to divine…

Great dream, I have recently started to research dreams & meaning after an academic friend of mine suggested how important it actually is. I am still no expert. So my interpretation of your dream suggest the fox represents your resourcefulness, cleverness & great insight into a situation. Perhaps you need to trust these or conceal these thoughts as foxes can also suggest cunningness, which also can be useful if you don’t have all the facts.
