How Virgo Are You?

If only one of these pictures arouses you then you are Just Virgo Enough. Two? You’re an Official Virgo & probably already making a list of desirable stationery on one of your several ‘clean’ pads that just happen to be at hand. Three? Virgo Absolute. And you don’t need me nor stationery websites to inspire your, uh, preference.

UPDATE:

Oh Bliss – Scorpalicious Robot, clearly a stationery fetishist of some note, has sweetly sent me in a more “sexy” stapler. This is IT. No more. From memory, I think this woman has Virgo in the EIGHTH HOUSE.

My 8th house is in Virgo, I am just now studying this topic. I am not very Virgo at all, just one planet in Virgo but I am somewhat of a perfectionist and OCD and could never figure out why since I am not Virgo. However, that one planet is Saturn my ruling planet so I am studying this tendency and what it means to have Saturn in the 8th, in Virgo.

Super weird! As I just finished typing my comment I overheard my Virgo boss say the words “red stapler” as he is over there talking to a new hire who just started yesterday. Crazy..

I have to admit … all of those images turn me in. I am definitely closet case when it comes to stationery. Even have the personal collections of journals in my bookcase.

You’ve got my number, and I’ve only just met you.

Gals, ya gotta be joking!! Stationery sexy? C’mon!! Doesn’t do a thing for me. Get more of a buzz from smart kitchen/cooking/eating accessories. Guess that I’m not that Virgo at all.

Well Ms. Mowtown,

Gotta admit, never wanted to hump my construction paper but a stapler does give one some S&M type ideas… he,he

that’s what I meant by the “lift cap and load” Sweetpea. It’s like … don’t fuq with a Virgo’s stationery or they’ll staple yer balls to the walls!

“Candy Spelling….”

Granted, they are not my dolls, but I do hope LL that Candy donates some of her doll collection to little girls that would love to have one.

Honestly, could not stomach the fact that she came on morning t.v. here and shown everyone around her mansion and that she’s just now, scaling down to a 17,000 sq. foot home. Yes, it is her dough, but so many in this country (and elsewhere) are hurting. Very poor taste I thought to come on t.v. in such a manner. She does not seem like a “bad” or mean person, just ignorant….

Leonine Librarian
Leonine Librarian

She has dolls? I think the only time my ears pricked was when I heard she had a wrapping room. Other than that I tend not to go there.

I wonder at the motives of whomever scheduled her onto whatever morning tv she went on…yes showing someone’s excessive lifestyle when so many people are hurting isn’t in the best of taste…wouldn’t be surprised if it rated well though. Makes me wonder about who she has around her that would not advise against it.

Sweetpea

Yes LL, she has a gi-normous room with dolls all encased in glass.

predictably, i am drooling over these pictures — all three. but i worry that the red pvc one has more style than substance. i want the stapler to be the long-arm kind, that you can staple big booklets with. weighs a ton. sexy and extremely useful all in one. (ha, also phallic.) i also totally have a thing for guillotines. and x-acto knives — particularly the ones with a tiny swivel blade, so good for collage. my desk = cream-coloured with a very wide, flat stationery drawer containing separate compartments for pens, markers, all the rest. it also has a… Read more »

I’m picky about my pens and pencils too Twice the Virg.

Have mentioned it here before but have Draconic Sun and Merc in Virgo. Think it has leaked over into this life. Have a black leather notebook which I keep legal size pad in and then have a smaller version (purse size) for running around town with “to do” list.

One weekend, after my grandaughter was here, I could not find my stapler and it drove me nuts. I had to call her…..

Leonine Librarian
Leonine Librarian

twicethevirgo, I concur. Long, strong staplers rule. I found it hard to not sound a bit soft pornish when describing their attributes.

I need to get some compartments for my drawers though..your desk sounds very stylish and useful.

nat

both your desks sound stylish and organised! I’m in awe. I have systems too LL but my desk gets a bit ramshackle at times. I know where everything is but I wish I devoted more time to cleaning & filing in my office. I recently gave up my big office at work and chose to move into a smaller one. My theory was that this would 1) force me to sort & throw out lots of stuff that was building up and, 2) that the smaller space would encourage me to be more efficient at filing. The theory is working… Read more »

My first response was yep, this Cap could do with a lift and am missing alpha tauri so much I might just get loaded too.

With one household Virgo passing through the veil and another going OS between them they’ve left me with enough writing equipment to last several lifetimes. No joke. Several drawer’s full!! and that’s just pens and notepaper. Before the deluge I just had my favourite blue pen. I like it. It feels good to write with.

The coloured pencils drew my artist’s eye

scorpalicious robot

and yes Mystic i have 3 planets in Virgo all in 8th – Mars, Uranus and Pluto.
I go absolutely mental if my favourite pen or pencil goes missing at work. I’ll sulk for hours …. days even.

aquaquaqua

oh wow, yesyes, the pencils and the spiral bound notebooks and ESPECIALLY that pillarbox red enamel looking stapler, just perfecto. if i could i would red enamel the whole world. i have virgo rising. i love all that clobber. my house is full of it.

nat

Hilarious! Thanks MM & robots. I was thinking sexy as in utility. You know form & function, rather than sexy as in phallic but… oh never mind. For a stapler it is very phallic, very shiny and very funny.

robots, I agree, some of the women in Mad Men do look lovely (and yes, Donald is OK as a dark brooding type) but the dialogue is so turgid with such a nasty streak… I’m not sure if they are really trying to show the ugly, racist, sexist, vacuous side of the era or (re)glorify it.

saggigal

nat, definitely just trying to expose it- reveal the nastiness behind the ‘golden years’ mythology. i love mad men.

scorpalicious robot
scorpalicious robot

HAHAHA… you reckon it’s phallic? not my intention at all nat. It’s just the most stylish i could find. I just thought it was good enough to be included in a stationery catalogue and i liked the crop. I was half tempted to quickly photograph one myself but the only stapler i have is a very unattractive grey one, plus i was busy watching Man Men. I think they’re trying to show the racist, sexist, vacuous side of the world of advertising in the that era. Having worked in ad agencies for over 18 years i can tell you some… Read more »

I’m with you on the boy’s club ad agency thing Robot – last agency I worked for all the creatives and managers were either imported english males or your typical young-ish, laconic dude. The women only seemed to be allowed to do account services roles and there was a plethora of virgo and librans in those jobs. I know this because we had to celebrate EVERYBODY’S freakin birthday there … I remember the first time I presented a concept on the fly to the creative director he looked at me as if I was some new breed of algae he… Read more »

and I’m loving how it clearly says “lift cap to load” …. woo so much one could read into that. A statement about what happens if you get on a Virgo’s nerves? How to marry a Capricorn?

I thought I was the only one to see that…see below 😆

Yeah, the stylishness of Mad Men is pure veneer. Underneath is so much tension, creepiness and malcontent. Hence the racism, sexism, violence, secrecy, hypocrisy…

It gives me chills. Everyone smoking, drink driving, no seat belts, the pregnant woman drinking bourbon, the kid playing with the plastic bag over her head, the vicious verballing of the divorced woman for liking to take walks. It’s a kind of barometer for what has changed socially and what hasn’t.

Leonine Librarian

Nat I was with you with the function, till I saw that gleaming 747 red model Scorp Bot sent in. Sterling.

After trawling about the net looking at pics of staplers I found a very butch all metal model that will penetrate 120 pages. I think it just made my list of necessary office supplies.

nat
nat

120 pages???!!! Phwoar… that must be an A380 compared to the 747!
Oh dear… it is wrong to REALLY enjoy a perfectly functioning stapler… do I need to get out more…

Leonine Librarian
Leonine Librarian

Nat would you believe that someone has called their website stapleheadquarters.com? ‘cos that’s the epicentre of useful staplers…and my memory underplayed its performance too, it’s actually 180 pages and a soft champagne metallic…which I hate in cars, but like in this sturdy little number. Although if it was that beautiful enamel red, I’m sure people would be lining up.

As for getting out more had completely inappropriate conversation with another Leo whilst in Sun drinking coffee this morning about worst behaviour…yet another sign that I need to get my social life in order.

Nah none of them do it for me. Maybe the stapler as it looks a bit like a lipstick. I have some outer planet in Virgo that I clearly don’t take much notice of.

Oh yeah! Red stapler. Was just perusing my pens yesterday wondering how I got to have so many… They just seem draaaaaawn to me. Mars in Virgo, Jupiter in Virgo, Saturn in Virgo. Virgo Virgo Virgo. Sheesh.

My double Piscean/moon Gemini daughter would be drooling. She’s extremely vague, messy, disorganised and highly creative and feels the only thing “worthy of being kept tidy” (her words) are the items in her stationery case. She’s obsessed with stationery. And anything Japanese. None of the pics appeal much to me except for the coloured pencils and that’s only due to my artistic nature more than the actual pencils themselves .. but then again I do have a thing for natural, cardstock finishes. But still, I’m about as Virgo as …. pffft … I dunno double baked pork belly with glazed,… Read more »

How Virgo am I? I am Über, hear me roar!

That’s a cliche that a Virgoan would get excited by looking at pictures of stationery. It’s much more tactile than that. Personally, I prefer to fill a room with loose leaf parchment and pencil shavings and roll around in it naked to Wagner’s Das Rheingold. A bit like Ann Margret’s baked beans and chocolate scene in Tommy, but more sanitary. She’s a Taurean after all.

Gotta go, don’t want to miss the beginning of Mad Men.

Mmmmm Punctuality.

haha… no i didn’t but if i had, i probably would have done something similar. I’ve been told my photos are dark, lush and intense (just like me… tee hee) i would have made it look more David Lynchian.

um, ok, disturbing, i am three for three. yes- me, the great fire sign! i do have saturn in virgo natally, and am surrounded by virgos (so nature vs nurture?) but did not realise how much of a sucker i am for tools of le trade until now. though come to think of it i used to LOVE stocking up my stationary before each new term at school.

Matthew , Mystic did a post on writers “Astraea – The Star Maiden & Virgo”

“Virgo Rising with Gemini Midheaven is still very much the astro-signature of a writer & Virgo Suns disproportionately swell the ranks of published/acclaimed novelists”

The top reminds me of one of the shelves in my library which contains all my art diaries stacked just so, plus fiction books arranged in alphabetical order of author. The pencils are in very pretty colours but I itch to sharpen them properly so they’re not so uneven. The stapler is suitably pristine.

Leonine Librarian
Leonine Librarian

I’d say we’re pretty squarely in the Virgo absolute category if we can critique the sex appeal of a stapler… Since I’ve reorganised my office and have repainted it, I’m quite the happy camper. My office feels fantastic….lots of fresh cream, with some striking black touches and a little tweed. A little black urn for my black gel tipped pens( nothing fancy just practical in the sense that they glide over paper)…I have a drawer specially for ipod cords, and other connectedy bits for the camera and mobile phone. I have my mini Candy Spelling drawers just for ribbons, tape, bubble… Read more »

o speak to me of tweed LL :o)

Leonine Librarian
Leonine Librarian

o nnb, tweed covers boxes, and a noticeboard. (black straps to with tweed covered buttons to hold stuff. It feels just the right amount of texture in here. I’m not usually a big fan of cream, but the contrast of a punch of black here and there just works for me.

Oh dear. You mean ‘it’ has a name?

I’m at least two for three, and if the pic of the stapler had been really long with good strong thick brassy staples, with a bit of a silver sheen to the whole thing I’d totally be there.

nat

Same LL. Would have been a trifecta for me with a sexier photo of a stapler… or some excellent pens… or lovely writing paper…

mmm I prefer the hole punch and the little brass thingies to a stapler but I’m there too – and gagging to know what kind of container those pencils are in – metal or reinforced cardboard?
