Peeps! I am re-posting this as Uranus-Venus transits already going on – see below – are now HOT for two reasons: Venus is quincunx Uranus, setting them off AND Uranus is retrograding way back to where it was lurking in Feb 2008 and then forward again…So from now till May 2010 is the Hot Zone for your Uranus-Venus transit. Also, Saturn gets involved from now through until September – yay! – So some of us could even have a, gulp, meaningful and enduring Uranian romance. As Uranus heads back to exact conjunct my Piscean Venus, i am totally going to be in the club, hanging out in the comments. Pls read the post and comments to determine your eligibility to join my club.

Last year’s transit of Uranus conjunct my natal Venus bought The Uranian & it wasn’t even exact. It’s exact in mid-March & then again in Nov & December. There is already the Leo-Rising Aquarian Rugger Stud & an Ariean so bats & Uranian i can barely begin to explain it/him.  Uranus-Venus transits are fun but weird. All the peeps you attract or whom zig into your life seem to be ultra-attractive & individuated but really bats. As an example, even my Celebrity Crush – Joaquin Phoenix – has apparently gone totally apeshit bats. That is the awesome power of this astro-passage. Unbelievable.

None of my friends are doing Uranus-Venus transits. So, in the spirit of support, I am offering u the chance to join the Uranus-Venus club. All you have to do to join is have a Venus between 21 and 28 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius or Gemini. Also considered Venus in those degrees of Scorpio or Cancer and Capricorn-Taurus.  How do you know your Venus degree? Again, look it up on Astrodienst You all know the Venus glyph & just check out the list of planets in the little box down the left…Look at the number next to the Venus…

The Astrology Of Frenemies

By frenemies, I don’t mean that teen-girl kind of friendship where you have a mate but you secretly hate one another and conspire to give her bad hair advice. I mean when a once close-friend becomes a kind of casual enemy or you just simply break up but it’s never addressed. In actual love relationships, it has to be thrashed out. And there’s always sex & maybe children or shared $$$ to ensure some sort of dialogue. But with friends, the calls just get further & further apart and the must-do-lunches more poignantly ludicrous.

Apart from the obvious divisive factors – one person doing smug married shite and the other crazy-bats single nympho shite -  my theory is that you get waves of friends of one particular sign or astro-signature at certain phases in your life. I had a whole lot of Virgo friends who went during my (still ongoing) Uranus-Venus transit & now I have Scorpios. Or they’ve got Scorp Rising. I only just realised: My Life In The Bush of Scorpions.

So, do you agree with the phases of friends & how do you know when a friendship is kaput? Which sign makes the worst ex-friend? ie’ Bitchiest, most judgemental and, weirdly, still sorta stuck in whatever was going on back in the day?

The Thoth Deck – The Magus/The Magician

Uranus is the Magician & the Trickster – the ‘higher Octave’ of Mercury & is more akin to the mythological Prometheus than his actual legendary namesake.

Uranus transits are amazing – super-synchronicity & a sped up pace of life with major inspiration & individuation. Hard on the status quo though. That’s why this year’s Saturn-Uranus opposition is so damned cathartic. We all get to take care of the deets like adults (Saturn) and balance it out with being utterly our true selves/own drum-beat etc.

The first Uranus Square happens at age 21-ish, ,when Uranus squares it’s natal position & challenges people to be whom they truly are. It’s a big time for moving beyond the peer group of our teens, coming out of closets and taking up a vocation. Often someone comes into our life at the age of 21 who is  like a Uranian mentor or muse figure – a totally individuated & iconoclasic character who models what’s possible. Think about it and see. An innate talent or ‘bent’ also often surfaces at this point.

Then there is the famous Uranus Opposition in one’s early 40’s. The classic Who Am I Really? crisis that sends many a comfortable but stagnant relationship into a death-spiral & spins out even the most staid. It’s youthifying & invigorating – I always say that it is not really a Uranus transit if nobody is tut-tutting. But it works best if you have already made your peace with Saturn.  ie; you pay your bills, your dues and you have some kind of grounding & life skills. Then there is another Uranus square and the Uranus Return at age 84. When you can REALLY let rip if you want to.

Uranus is – of course – doing loads of other things, depending on your unique chart. Right now, as some of you know, I have Uranus on my Venus & hence attract a flow of fascinating, charismatic and handsome but erratic Aquarian men; The Uranian, the Aqua-Barrister, The Leo Rising Aqua Rugger Stud. Totally illuminating and liberating in that one can’t even BEGIN to think about a “normal” relationship with such men or under a Uranus-Venus transit. It’s such a cool but weird transit that I have a club.

Uranus-Moon transits seem to send people merrily bats. This is the ultimate in “Oh, yah she sold up everything and is in Mongolia marrying her cousin whose just left the priesthood…” The W.T.F. transit. Definitely excellent for art, music & authentic living. V.oft linked with sudden switchings of sexuality as well. Uranus-Mars is like being tapped into an outer-space form of energy. It has to be chanelled or else you just go crazy with twitchings, clumsiness and temper.

Uranus-Sun is the only one i can really “predict” without seeing your chart. If you are born at 22 to 30 degrees of Pisces (March 14 to the end of Pisces) then Uranus is upon you! Individuate or go spectacularly bats. Same goes for Virgoans born September 16 and on, Geminis from June 14 onward and Saggos from Dec 15.  Of course Saturn is the complicating influence here. You have to create a strong foundation for your innovative new paradigm.

Uranus Ascendent is the sudden and awesome makeover & Uranus-Descendent is when someone just strolls into  your life and WHAM you’re instantaneously in love in an old-school, can’t sleep sort of a way. Uranus-Midheaven – sudden change in job/career/public image. A television show at short notice…Uranian astro-passages can wreak havoc on your nerves and you will definitely want to keep odd hours, reverse or alter the routine. THAT is normal for you when you are having a Uranus transit.

BTW, it is pronounced Ur-AHH-Nus. Not like anus.

I don’t know who this designer is but he/she/it is totally grokking my Winter wardrobe “statement”. As an Aquarius Rising, i LOVE the classic gray trackpant. Informal. Egalitarian. Add my Venus in Pisces appreciation of deshabille & perfect; the ideal outfit for a premenstrual trot up to the local. Or straight from the gym to the pub. An update of ‘resort wear’ for the Pluto In Capricorn era.

ANYWAY, i was actually wanting to give an example of astrology in action. The day before yesterday I had transitting Mars on my Sun & Psyche. All the good-Mars stuff happened; heightened determination & strong ideas for moving forward etc. But there were two other things. And, btw, I had not even bothered to  notice Mars whizzing over my Sun/Psyche. I looked later. Mars AND Venus right there. The Venusification was prob my saviour. Mars can be a Malefic (ie; shitty) but Venus is always a Benefic. (ie; Fab)

You see, when you have Uranus conjunct Venus going on, you’re too busy with your whacko love life & Aquarian men to think about flitty little Mars transits. Thing One; Was late to get my daughter from sports camp so jumped in taxi even though it was only a short way away. Did not bother with seatbelt as traffic at crawl. Smelt weirdly strong alcohol smell. Assumed that was prob some synthetic crap the guy had cleaned his cab with. Thought surely would not be actual booze. Heard voice – literally – that said to put seatbelt on. Ignored. Was in back seat. Going one kilometre up road at nano-crawl. Heard it again. Put on stupid seat belt.

Soooo suddenly we’re going fast, making some illegal left turn and screeching down road as twerp taxi drive tries to run a red light OUTSIDE the hospital A & E department. We narrrowly miss colliding with the van turning left legally and there is huge screech of brakes and both cars spinning off, stunt-car style. The van is a police van driven by two enraged young female constables. I am fine. But would prob not have been sans seatbelt. The Venusian aspect of all this is that had something happened, i would have been v.close to medical help and the the cops were -obviously – right there on the scene.

So an hour later walking home and Thing Two;  I get into a fight with a guy on the street. He looks slimey, asks me something or rather and I decide to ignore  him with Anglican hauteur. So he starts hassling this girl behind me. Asks her three times to go to the  pub with  him and then kind of wheedling but threatening ‘oh why not?’ and all t his other stuff. So finally I wheel around and go him. Not hysterically and not unreasonably. But definitely with a sort of Martian white-hot fury. Totally told him off (leave her along,  no means no etc) and he arced up and argued back. Could tell he longing to hit me and i was absolutely ready for him to give it a go as would have used right elbow, left hook, right upper cut and a knee in his groin. But he took off.

And no i don’t normally get into fights with guys in streets or relish a punch up. It’s worth keeping an eye on where Mars is. It definitely energises. A Mars conjunction is the strongest. Mars on your Venus is always an excellent pulling transit. Mars-Moon means you’re SO tetchy but can be quite insightful. Mars-Saturn is ruthlessly sorting admin and structural details of your life and/or confronting power. Mars-Jupiter is usually at the races, lol.

And here we go with more helpful research; Which Sun Sign Does IT for you? I don’t mean launch into a homage to your Official Sig-Other or reminisce re your most officially important relationship. This is actually a sleazoid question. Venus IS applying to a hard Pluto square, yes?  Soooo, out of ALL the signs and over ALL of your sexual history, which Sun Sign are you most likely to have a THING for?

Aries men are my TYPE & statistically i have racked up a disproportionate number of them + Leos.  Aquarius men are my thing ever since Uranus began to cross my Piscean Venus early last year. But the stupid sign that i have the THING for would have to be Gemini men. Oh Lord. I was discussing skiing – for some reason and i don’t actually really ski – the other day and had the most visceral flash of Adrianos, a Gemini Ski instructor i had a THING with yonks ago. It’s hard to define the THING. Instant lust, obviously, and also something weird that occurs in the first few moments of meeting that could be most easily classified as w.t.f. And I know it the moment i meet a Gemini man, his spacie little flaked out eyes & all.

Sun Sign THINGS amongst my friends: Not-The-Typical Virgo has a big THING for English Leos, especially bon vivants. It has got to the point that if we go to a party and there is a loud Pom type opening a bottle of champagne & laughing Leonically, I clutch her arm.  Saggo Fascinator goes ape for Saggo Yachties & outdoorsy types.  She especially likes them when they’re literally off to Patagonia the next week. All the yearning & none of what she calls “the nonsense.”  Libran Comedian (male) has an insane thing for coltish looking Virgoan fashionistas. Scorpio Sex Academic has a thing for Libran men who resemble the elves from Lord Of The Rings….I could crap on for yonks re this but will now….
