I’m feeling the wildest thing & it’s hard to put into words. But I think it’s the Chiron-Neptune weirding. The sensation is that everything is meant-to-be, that certain things happened for a reason, trusting one’s angels etc. See? My actual feeling is not so naff. Anyway, magic is all about.

Now, let’s do our major transits du jour.

If you are an Astro-Fiend, what is your major transit of the moment and how are you going with it?

If you’re not – here is a handy way to figure out at least something that is going on, just via your birthdate. That is, transits to the Sun.

If you’re an early born Libra, Cancer, Capricorn or Aries then you are having both Saturn & Pluto up your arse affecting you this year. By early-born, i mean Libras born in Sept, Caps born in December, Cancerians born in June and Arieans born in March. So you lot are like transformation city. Saturn alone is like stripping down your life scenario to the basics, restructuring the lot and with a particular emphasis on health & wealth. Pluto adds psychological oomph so you can see a lot of emo reasons behind your functioning. So depth psych AND you get your taxes/weight/crap habits/debt or whatevs into major order.

Born around the middle of Feb, May, November or August: Happy Neptune transit. If you guys are not so out of it all the time that you’re not getting it, your consciousness is being raised mega-high. This is powerful Shamanic & evolutionary energy…Other worlds, astral travel, meditation to the max, psychic OR you can be having Happy Hour down at the Hoochy-Koo Voodoo Bar with your married lover, having worn out every clairvoyant in town with your shrill desperation re when he/she/it is going to be free to honour your ‘destined’ love affair. Or maybe you’re whacked out on happy-weed, communing with your spirit guide from Atlantis.

Late Pisces, Virgo, Saggo and Gemini (born in the last week of their sign) are having a merry Uranus transit but still with a little bit of Saturn stuff to tidy up between now and August. So the total individuation and liberation that is the promise of a well-managed Uranian transit WILL be theirs if they can but do the Saturnine due diligence (see above re diets, health, budgeting, sanity, sleep, structure etc)in the meantime. Uranus is like your life, your terms and tolerances fall away. If you’ve got a talent or a true nature – out it comes. Tres emancipated and youthifying. Hell on moribund relationships. Even harder than a Pluto transit, in that respect. Boredom threshold drops way low. Peeps having a Uranus transit wake up and say something like “I’m sorry but did you just ask me what time I think I’ll be home tonight? Dude, I am OFF.”

If you’re NOT one of these b-days, it doesn’t mean you’re not having a major transit – these are just what I can figure out from transits to the Sun. But have a go figuring it out – you can also look them up via Astrodienst. The BIG ones – Saturn, Pluto, Uranus and Neptune will always be the astro-passages that you’re best off making your theme for the year.

I really cannot see what the fuss is about Madonna & Jesus Luz. Men have much younger lovers all the time & nobody makes a peep, expect for when maybe the girl is exceptionally dewy/nubile and the man positively decrepit. But it’s like peeps are being both ageist AND sexist + insulting to Jesus Luz a la terms like ‘boy toy’ and all.

ANYWAY…He is a Capricorn & when he met Ms Madonna, he had Uranus crossing over his Pisces North Node…Sudden manifesting of destiny indeed. But you know what? I wouldn’t call this bloke a toy anything. He’s Moon-Pluto in Scorpio – sooo deep and comfie with psych depths too. Would get off on an emotionally intricate relationship. And he’s got Venus in Aquarius – a guy with Venus in Aquarius does not choose trad women to be in his life. Or ‘appropriate’ relationships. He just doesn’t. And there is a v.low boredom threshold when it comes to females.

Also, that Venus of his is sextile Jupiter (over the top lover) and sextile Mars-Saturn-Uranus in Sagittarius. Don’t fence him in or tell him what to do & he so would not give a shit if you did. BUT – because you’ve got Saturn there, he’s interested in creating some sort of structure in his life that allows for a lot of freedom & stimulation. I reckon he’s going gangbusters manifesting his chart and he hasn’t even had his Saturn Return yet.Venus sextile Saturn even by itself (without all the wild Uranian weirding) is happy with big age gap relationships.

Learning To Love Saturn Again

I love the basic description of Saturn Girl as “a talented telepath from the 30th Century.”

I am so totally loving Saturn, even though the planet is opposing my Venus right now. As you can read in Saturn Crashes The Uranus-Venus Club and the Saturn-Venusian Transits Bad Boys Thingie if you are having a Uranus transit to any point in your chart in the next month, Saturn is along for the smackdown. But this is a GOOD thing.

It need not be Venus of course – whatever is betweeen 20 to 26 degrees of any sign but especially the Mutable signs (Virgo, Pisces, Gemini, Saggo) is being affected. In fact, more than that, it’s been caught between Saturn and Uranus.  My mind is on this at the moment partly because i am doing the Saturn-Uranus-Mercury Retro mini-astro-queries but also because i have this Saturn opposing my Venus thing going on & I have decided TWO MAJOR THINGS;

Thing One; Saturn is not boring. Yes i often link the planetary influence with mortality, taxes blah de blah. But the other night, when i turfed out the Uranian, it felt fabulous. Like having an inner suave life coach – setting boundaries seemed suddenly SO simple & easy. And just because he’d turned up out sans warning, i didn’t let my Venus-Neptunian goo-goo urges take over and render the whole thing “passionate” or (worse) fated. Quite frankly it is that sort of sentiment that leads to an awful lot of women snivelling into the cracked tea-mug they’re drinking warm gin out of as they gaze out of their rusty window frame at the railway tracks. Not that the U would have taken me there, but you get my point. Channel Saturn to prize your health, wealth & wisdom. Saturn is cool. And given that the pantheon is overwhelmingly male, i am visualising Saturn as Saturn-Girl for the moment. It works for me and it might work for you too.

Thing Two; Yes, Saturn and Uranus are moving into an opposition at the moment (and it’s back next April so how you do September’s one determines 2010 a LOT) but it need not be a battle between the two. What if they get along really well & help one another? The other night with the U is not just me being an indulgent confessional blogger – it works as an example because Venus was trining Uranus and sextiling Saturn. So it was an actual Saturn-Uranus opposition test/issue. Okay so Saturn works by setting boundaries & saying this isn’t good enough and so on – Uranus was simply bored by the whole thing. I seriously felt like it was a groundhog situation. Almost like we had been scripted and were just revving up for take 57 of the same stupid scene. Not good. Uranus on its own might grok the boredom and attempt to liven things up via a dash of chaos or acting out but Saturn kicks in and says ‘kill it’ – no dramas, no worries & now pixter your teeth, bung on some antioxidant serum & go happily to a rejuvenatory sleep.

So far as boundaries go, Saturn-Girl is set and forget. No agonising. No insomnia. No Neptunian musings re karma drama.

AND: One of my fave astro books – The Gods Of Change, by Howard Sasportas -  makes the point that Neptune always benefits from a little Saturn. So if you’re Venus in Pisces, Venus in 12th House or Venus aspecting Neptune (a la me) then you will love a good Saturn transit to your Venus, you truly will.

Astro-Beauty: What You Wore When You Were Bad?

What did you wear when you were BAD???? Hair, cosmetics, clothing, shoes???

I wore that Shiseido pancake make-up, just reapplied and reapplied, a faux snakeskin mini skirt, a Merivale top that I cannot describe but was like a pale khaki t-shirt with a gathered bodice detail – awesomely flattering and discounted to $10 by some Venusian miracle…thigh-high boots that got so crappy the heel came out & one scuffed along the pavement but still they were worn because they did the pulling for you. Emerald green liquid kohl.  O.m.g and that Guerlain meteorites powder stuff because of the packaging & some weird belief that they actually bestowed integrity upon one. Scent? Coco or as ever many testers as could be sprayed on during one quick waltz through a department store.

The amazing thing about being in your very early 20s – apart from thinking that you know EVERYTHING and the ability to leap out of bed having had an hour and half’s sleep post-a-big night feeling nothing but vague ennui – is that you can look awesome by just applying and re-applying the make-up + teasing/adding more product to your hair.

Feel free to also answer this question in the present or future tense. What you wear if you’re bad now…What you are going to wear when you’re bad next, lol…?  BTW, my “bad” is sans value judgement, obviously. And it’s usually a combo of youth + (age 21 is when Uranus squares Uranus) and a good hefty transit of Uranus that makes peeps act up ostentatiously.

The Thoth Deck – The Magus/The Magician

Uranus is the Magician & the Trickster – the ‘higher Octave’ of Mercury & is more akin to the mythological Prometheus than his actual legendary namesake.

Uranus transits are amazing – super-synchronicity & a sped up pace of life with major inspiration & individuation. Hard on the status quo though. That’s why this year’s Saturn-Uranus opposition is so damned cathartic. We all get to take care of the deets like adults (Saturn) and balance it out with being utterly our true selves/own drum-beat etc.

The first Uranus Square happens at age 21-ish, ,when Uranus squares it’s natal position & challenges people to be whom they truly are. It’s a big time for moving beyond the peer group of our teens, coming out of closets and taking up a vocation. Often someone comes into our life at the age of 21 who is  like a Uranian mentor or muse figure – a totally individuated & iconoclasic character who models what’s possible. Think about it and see. An innate talent or ‘bent’ also often surfaces at this point.

Then there is the famous Uranus Opposition in one’s early 40’s. The classic Who Am I Really? crisis that sends many a comfortable but stagnant relationship into a death-spiral & spins out even the most staid. It’s youthifying & invigorating – I always say that it is not really a Uranus transit if nobody is tut-tutting. But it works best if you have already made your peace with Saturn.  ie; you pay your bills, your dues and you have some kind of grounding & life skills. Then there is another Uranus square and the Uranus Return at age 84. When you can REALLY let rip if you want to.

Uranus is – of course – doing loads of other things, depending on your unique chart. Right now, as some of you know, I have Uranus on my Venus & hence attract a flow of fascinating, charismatic and handsome but erratic Aquarian men; The Uranian, the Aqua-Barrister, The Leo Rising Aqua Rugger Stud. Totally illuminating and liberating in that one can’t even BEGIN to think about a “normal” relationship with such men or under a Uranus-Venus transit. It’s such a cool but weird transit that I have a club.

Uranus-Moon transits seem to send people merrily bats. This is the ultimate in “Oh, yah she sold up everything and is in Mongolia marrying her cousin whose just left the priesthood…” The W.T.F. transit. Definitely excellent for art, music & authentic living. V.oft linked with sudden switchings of sexuality as well. Uranus-Mars is like being tapped into an outer-space form of energy. It has to be chanelled or else you just go crazy with twitchings, clumsiness and temper.

Uranus-Sun is the only one i can really “predict” without seeing your chart. If you are born at 22 to 30 degrees of Pisces (March 14 to the end of Pisces) then Uranus is upon you! Individuate or go spectacularly bats. Same goes for Virgoans born September 16 and on, Geminis from June 14 onward and Saggos from Dec 15.  Of course Saturn is the complicating influence here. You have to create a strong foundation for your innovative new paradigm.

Uranus Ascendent is the sudden and awesome makeover & Uranus-Descendent is when someone just strolls into  your life and WHAM you’re instantaneously in love in an old-school, can’t sleep sort of a way. Uranus-Midheaven – sudden change in job/career/public image. A television show at short notice…Uranian astro-passages can wreak havoc on your nerves and you will definitely want to keep odd hours, reverse or alter the routine. THAT is normal for you when you are having a Uranus transit.

BTW, it is pronounced Ur-AHH-Nus. Not like anus.
