And remember this, some of the urgency of the Full Moon et al fades with the next few days but the insights, ideas and conversations of the past few days are GOLDEN.

I was just thinking that you KNOW you are an Astro-Fiend when you don’t know anyone’s age but you think of them as pre-Saturn Return or pre-Pluto-Neptune (that happens age 25) or Uranus Oppositioning…About to have their Chiron Return. Etc.

Second Astro-Fiend Indicator is when you suddenly get an ‘aha’ moment re an astrological syndrome you never normally think of and it wows you out. Astrology IS Uranian. I mean, it’s ruled by Uranus so it’s not Neptunian like Reiki. Impulses and concepts flash in and out. It can be faddy. Like you can spend months tracking Lilith and then get over it.

So I tend to be a bit blase about my progressed chart but i had the most major health vibe the last few days – v.Saturnine and full on self-controlling etc – even though Saturn nowhere near anything significant. It was strong enough to be weirding me out. I mean, suddenly i can’t stand wheat, alcohol, sugar, alcohol, coffee or dairy. Am craving salads…If I could SELL this i would!

So finally i check out my progressed chart and voila: Progressed Saturn has moved from being in a really wide orb trine to Neptune in natal chart to it being EXACT now. It’s also exact trine Part of Fortune in health sector and exact opposite Pluto. So Saturn strengthens my Neptune & suddenly I can’t stand anything even remotely addictive. I mean, there are opiates in bread and cheese!

D.I.Y. Astro: The Chart Ruler

Everyone has a Lord or a Lady of their chart. It is the ruler of your Ascendent. As this is fairly ancient ye olde worlde astro, a lot of peeps think you should consider the ‘old’ rulers to be in effect. eg; If you have Pisces Rising, you would say  you are ‘ruled’ by Jupiter, not Neptune. But I don’t bother with this because I have Aquarius Rising and I’d rather be Uranian than Saturnine.

So, the idea is not that you owe allegiance to some feudal overlord or capricious dame such as the Moon BUT that  you keep a v.close eye on the Lord/Lady as it is v.likely to be super-significant.  You might also like to think in terms of developing/enhancing some of the qualities associated with that planet. eg; Say you have Aries Rising – Mars is your Lord…You would do well to be actively competitive & move hard on winning in the areas of the chart where Mars is transitting.

The chart ruler is v.important in Horary astrology, where you ask a question and run a chart for the moment of the question.

D.I.Y. Astro – The Midheaven

This is not a course in astrology but i get loads of questions about this sort of thing so maybe a bit of info will be useful?  You can get a chart off Astrodienst & please just get the vanilla version. I got an e-mail from someone semi-hysterical the other day. She’d worked up her chart & gone for every single extra asteroid, point and even hypothetical planets (Uranian astrology) and it was the first time she’d ever even seen her chart. The e-mail began something like  “HELP ME – I ALWAYS THOUGHT I WAS A LEO BUT I HAVE PRIAPUS, HADES, VERTEX, TWO PARTS OF FORTUNE AND 14674 + my PROGRESSED MOON ALL IN VIRGO…”

Anyway, the Midheaven is the cusp of the 10th house, aka the Brilliant Career sector. You can see it at more or less the top of any chart with the words MC.This is short for “medium coeli” aka middle of the sky aka Midheaven. If you have an exact birthtime, transits to the Midheaven manifest with total resonance for your vocational reality. The sign of the Midheaven and the planets in that 10th house signify your level of fame attained – if any, your public image, professional reputation and point toward your ideal career.

So, for fun or furthering self-understanding, figure out the sign/any planets in the 10th and ponder the scenario. eg; Mars in Saggo/ Saggo Midheaven wouldn’t want to be indoors or beholden to anyone. This is someone who would go bonkers if trying to follow – say – the parental path into a profession. It just reeks of the wilderness, travelling around teaching martial arts, a politician, professional zealot, idealist, horse trainer, surfer, self-employed, wanderer…It is all, obviously, a bit more complicated than this but i.m.o. it is a good starting point. And cool to analyze. On a really shallow level, just consciously trying to ‘do’ your Midheaven sign when it comes to big career matters, seems to work really well.

The Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) are traditionally supposed to be the most psychic. Cancerians are the natural born psychometrics of the bunch & are able to pick up on vulnerability v.easily,  Scorps have an uncanny ability to zoom in sex, money, drugs & crime issues and Pisceans are just generally spooky in random and ever-fluctuating ways. Or is this just crap?

I know when i had Neptune crossing my Aqua rising, i had loads of visions, lucid dreams & the most fantastic shamanic style experiences. Uranus is always a strong point in the charts of people who feel an affinity with astrology and Pluto is prominent in the charts of people who are drawn to intense psych explorations.

Soooo Sun Sign + any major astro indicator if you know it: what was the most psychic and/or ghostly etc supernatural experience you’ve had? I may put mine in the comments stream, even though it’s utterly bonkers.  Which sign is the most supernatural of all? Whom is the Supernaturalist…? Astro-Fiends may argue planets or even transits but please let’s not do progressed Arabic parts of hauntings et al.
