Chateau-Gabriel

This is the master bedroom in the country residence of the late Yves St Laurent, a multiple conjunct Leo (Sun, Venus, Mercury)…Is this or is this not classic Leo? I mean, are they usually this chintzy?

The Selby

Ines De La Fressange is a Leo and whenever i read of her, it seems like she has the perfect job description for a Leo: Model, Mother, Muse, Fashion Designer, French Icon, Socialiste, Heiress, Decorator, Photographer and Fashionista. And in this pic, okay I can’t tell, but I am thinking here is La Leo on her gorgeous creamy white staircase (she has Mercury, Venus + Mars in Virgo so one assumes the staircase gets repainted every couple of months, yes?) and that she is posing in front of other pics of her in full fabulousity throttle….

ameliaearhart

An expedition is on to find more info re Ms Amelia Earhart, the fearless pilot (and Leo) who disappeared in July 1937. She was fascinating and on this site here you can see what some say is a message from her, suggesting Earhart was held in capitivity. By the Japanese presumably. She was, at that point, the most famous woman in the world.

“These mysterious initials were found in a prison cell
on the walls of the Japanese Jail, Garapan, Saipan, and were
given to Tom Devine by William Grandt of Chicago who claims
to have the original photo. The letters are not Japanese. Gradt
said the photo was taken in 1944, and that he received it from
Jose Deloen Aspiros, now deceased, when he visited Saipan in
the late 1970s. The handwriting on the wall was first photographed
in 1944 and was not translated until a woman from Colorado gave
an interpretation of its mystic message. The initials “AE” are
boldly clear.
The arrow was interpreted as being one of the signs
of the planet Mars. The “4″ represents the planet Jupiter. The six
horizontal lines are the six lines of “I Ching” from the ancient Chinese
Book of Oracles. Within the six lines of I-Ching is the date “72″ or
July 2nd the date Earhart disappeared. Whoever put this inscription
on the wall of the Japanese Jail at Garapan knew their astrology and
knew their astrological chart.

In this inscription, Amelia is praying for action from the planet
Mars and good fortune from Jupiter. She is a “seven” as
there are seven letters in the Earhart name. The number
“seven” has double lines for emphasis. The six unbroken
lines represent the strongest of the Hexagrams of I-Ching.
She is crying out for Mars and Jupiter to come for her in
the hour of need. Mars and Jupiter appear as conjunct
on July 24, 1897, the date Amelia Earhart was born.”

Have a look at the inscriptions and see what you think I note that there was a Mars Jupiter conjunction on October 30 1937, months after she disappeared and that as a pilot used to flying by night she would have been familiar with these planets; they’re very bright. But familiar enough with astrology to do the Mars-Jupiter glyphs?

If it is the I-Ching hexagram – and it sure looks like it – then she has given it a ‘broken’ number 3 which would thus read: “Creative power that becomes known – but dangers lurk in the rise to fame.”

Camille Paglia wrote of her; “Amelia Earhart symbolizes modern woman’s invasion of the male world of daring adventure. As an aviator, she broke barriers and made the machine age her own. As a recreational athlete and automobile driver, she embodied fitness, energy and breezy mobility…Her ability to open her mysterious poetic inner self to the camera lens was as advanced as any movie stars…”

Her Chart: Sun in Leo conjunct South Node – bright soul from the past. Mars & Jupiter conjunct in Virgo – yes – but squaring her Moon + Pluto in Gemini. Also in Gemini; Venus, Ceres, Neptune & Part of Fortune. Uranus is conjunct Saturn in Scorpio.

I was reading an article about ladies who wear leopardskin prints the other day & it quoted the editor of Australian Vogue as saying she – as some woman do – considered it to be a neutral. Like beige. I’m blonde, tall & with boobage so if i wear leopard print, it looks ho not haute but i’m interested in the woman who do. Scorpios – surely. But the only one i can think of who is always rocking around in it is Kate Moss….The Capricorn…

This fits beautifully into the old myths that have the followers of Dionysus – God of Wine, Pleasure & Debauchery wearing leopard as a homage to him. I mean, if Kate is not a follower of Dionysus then who the hell is?

Should you be having Dionysian urges this week, the asteroid (3671 if you want to go bats looking it up on Astrodienst) is near the Sun in Leo…Yes, something else to blame apart from the Mars-Neptune trine…Anyway, whom do you think favours leopard print & which sign – would you also consider yourself/these women to be followers of Dionysus?

Or is there some thunderingly political-correctness thing that i am missing here…in a world where some leopards are endangered, is it not tacky to wear even faux leopard??

Today is the birthday of Mata Hari…This is a review of a Mata Hari biography

“Femme Fatale’s central contention is that “it is difficult to imagine a woman less likely . . . to be able to engage in clandestine activities than Mata Hari.” She was a star, and “while she was certainly seductive, which might be viewed as useful for a spy, she was never on any occasion invisible”; in fact, she was “a ridiculous candidate for a job that required clandestine behavior.” Yet her persecutors “believed firmly that Mata Hari was guilty because she slept with many men and traveled widely in wartime. Such a woman must be a spy.” A kangaroo court agreed, and on Oct. 15, 1917, at the age of 41, she was executed. Shipman reports that many years later, the prosecutor, Andre Mornet, talked to a writer about the case and said “with a supreme indifference, ‘Between you and me, there wasn’t enough [evidence] to flog a cat.’ “

There’s more mystery about the woman than about the charges that cost her life. Shipman probably is right that “she was convicted not for espionage but for her lack of shame,” but how she got that way — defiantly, exuberantly, spectacularly — simply can’t be explained. ”

Oh well was Leo & not only that – a Multiple Conjunct Leo – Sun, Mars, Mercury, Uranus and Midheaven all Leo. Squared by Pluto in Taurus. I cannot think of a worse combination for a spy, the poor thing. Moon-Saturn in Pisces conjunct North Node.

“When we gaze into a mirror, we are all of us Narcissus, tethered eternally to our doppelganger on the other side.”

I would love to be able to casually murmur that to a Leo lost in admiration gazing into his/her rose-tinted, light-bulb lined bathroom mirror. Or to flip out a Virgo merely doing a self-guilting examination, looking for unruly pores & stray hairs.

Today is the birthday of ultra Leo Ann Calvello – an American Roller Derby athlete who kept skating into her 70s. Watch this clip & dare any Leos you know to out-Leo this lady; Her  nickname was the Lioness & she was renowned for her big mouth, brawling, competitive ego, wigs, weekly change of hair style & being apparently the worlds only professional athlete to be active for seven decades. She is seriously trippy & the clip above is wierdly inspirational…Sun/Mercury in Leo trined by Uranus in Aries.
