Haute Aqua

Today is the birthday of Rosa Parks, the American Civil Rights legend, whose refusal to give up her seat for a white person was a catalyst for the human rights  movement. They had what basically amounted to bus-apartheid back in the 1950s & this Aquarius wasn’t putting up with it. That led to a boycotting of the bus system and so on…Voila, today America has President Obama. Amongst other “coloured” luminaries…

She’s actually a multiple conjunct Aquarius: Sun-Mercury-Moon-Uranus.  Try shutting that one up. The embodiment of the pragmatically visionary and ahead of their time haute Aquarius and a spooky-cute fact: Her Sun is bang-on the Aquarius Ascendent of President Obama.

Lou Andreas-Salome (born 12 Feb 1861) was a free-thinking woman & unconventional love-life leader way before it was fashionable. She supported herself as a writer, when few women did & was an intimate of Freud, Nietsche et al.  She was multiple conjunct Aquarius (Sun, Venus, Juno and Chiron all in that sign) with Uranus conjunct Ceres in Gemini trining the Aquarius AND Moon-Neptune in Pisces.

Venus in Aquarius alone is free-willed enough, the Uranus is a nice touch & Moon-Neptune suffuses the whole thing with spiritual yearning and the desire to place any of one’s bents – no matter what – in a higher context.

Aqua-Man & Hunky Doorstopping

Life is way quieter since I stopped seeing my two Aqua Men although the Uranian turned up at my house the other night, to try on a bit of Hunky-Doorstopping. It is a technique that I am convinced he copied totally off an old Paul Newman movie. I will post the exact You Tube clip if enough people want to see a PRIME example of Hunky Doorstopping technique. Or even understand what it is.

Anyway, whenever i see Robbie Williams (above, in dressing gown with light sabre) it makes me miss Aquarius men and all their battiness. Robbie Williams is Sun-Mercury-Jupiter in Aquarius, as personified by this quote: “I didn’t lose my mind, it was mine to give away.”

UPDATE: Hunky Doorstopping is like the Aqua-Man speciality. They hate it when you call them and they’re usually quite freaked by “arranged” dates as they have a spontaneity fetish. So they just turn up, on your doorstep and so they have to be hunky to get away with it.

The Uranian actually studied the movie Harper for some diploma thing  & I had never seen it. When I finally DID, i grokked how he perfected his Hunky Doorstopping technique.  The other Aquarian – ex-league player – has NEVER seen it or any movie as he was “against” culture and was (this is real) concerned about his glutes stagnating if he had to sit still for as long it would take to watch a whole film.  So his Hunky Doorstopping technique not nearly so good.

And yes, Paul Newman an Aquarian. Has anyone else been Hunky Doorstopped by Aqua men? Note also sudden surge of recent nostalgia on the Dark Moon and with Mercury Retrograde. This is another reason why it’s good to diet and stay sober on Dark Moons – so you don’t start calling the fiends. Finally, if you ever Doorstopped an Aquarian (as in turned up sans notice) they would call the Riot Squad.

Peter Beard

I think this picture is so-SO-so very Aqua man. Every now and then I note Peter Beard’s name in an article & it’s always capable of provoking a w.t.f. moment. He’s a photographer, artist, writer, friend to an extraordinary array of luminaries & used to best known for photographing endangered African elephants & supermodels. Super-influential & ecletic, ahead of his time – an evolved Aquarian.

“…Beard channels most of his creative energy into his collage-work and diaries, which he began to compile in 1949 at the age of eleven. Peter Beard began keeping diaries as a child and after discovering a love of photography, used photographs to extend and enhance them. Beard read Karen Blixen’s Out of Africa, which inspired him to travel to Africa in 1955. He took many pictures of the wildlife there and began putting them into collages and use animal blood and remains along with clippings to create his work.

In these works, he documents the history of his relationships with (among other things); Africa, Karen Blixen, the New York art scene, the fashion world, Hollywood, and the Kennedy administration. Page after page is covered with photographs of women, transcribed telephone messages, marginalia in India ink, clippings from the daily newspapers, dried leaves and insects, old sepia-toned photographs, drawings of animals and people by Kikuyu artists, quotes by Joseph Conrad, found objects, images of decaying elephant carcasses, and sometimes, Beard’s own blood….”

An unencumbered waning Moon in Virgo & cleaning truly  is therapeutic. Ditto organising, culling, sorting & editing.  The Sun in Aquarius draws near to Neptune: For brilliantly lucid dreaming, drink mint tea (spearmint, peppermint, anymint) before bed tonight & dab essential oil of lavender on temples as you to sleep. The really High-Functioning Flakes can whack a crystal in between the pillow-slip and their pillow.

Am writing weekly scopes for mid-March but seeking reassurance that there are actually men in my world who might like me other than the ludicrously handsome but chemically insane Uranian and the maybe-married Leo-Rising-Aquarian-Rugger-Stud, I was skimming a dating site. There’s men all right. And I clicked on the profile of one – hilarious. It said something to the tune of “if you are a woman sitting alone in a house with three cats and a pile of self-development books move right along, I am not for you.”  Mortifying. Not only was I alone in the house with three cats hanging around, I had a pile of books about things like Aura-Reading, Feng Shui For Dummies, Why Sugar Is The Devil, my esoteric symbols dictionary,  Exploring Jupiter, The Art Of Seduction, Memories, Dreams & Reflections by Jung & Why Men Love Bitches. I was like this guy’s Nightmare Girl!

BTW: I have a feeling that Uranus into Aries (it will be next year!) is going to translate into a massive spike in the amount of people doing D.I.Y. I don’t mean just the obvious things like D.I.Y. tiling your own bathroom, I mean D.I.Y. everything. Uranus in Aries is also heaps of records being broken, a whole new level of sports genius. Cloned athletes?

Lunar Leo

Yes, the Moon zipped into Leo at 15.44 Sydney time – early AM in the Northern Worlds & I totally grokked the shift. One moment all Cancerian & herbal, a swim in the beautiful ocean and then attempting to communicate with my pennyroyal plants…Voomp: Leo Moon felt like a blast of jungle fever. And of course it is waxing toward being Full and thus in opposition to the Aquarius Sun. It’s a Lunar Eclipse with Chiron and Neptune near to the Sun – brilliant for art, magic, meditation, spiritual love, glamour, miracles, compassion transcendental genius and insights.

Fab also for dipsomania & delusions, old-style stupidity via misplaced sympathy. Not a good Moon to do drugs…Fantastic for dreams, telepathy, divination and blending the objectivity & idealism of Aquarius with Leo verve to affirm resolutions of spirit, beauty , strength, power, art…Yes, even amidst the vile, horribly sad & disturbing news days that seem so often to coincide with Eclipses.

Why Am I No Longer An Aquarius?

Dear Mystic,

I was born at  4.30am in England, on Feb 18th.1947  Although not normally too thick, I  still cannot understand why, after some fifty-odd years being quite happy as  an Aquarian, I am now – sometimes, but not always – listed as a Piscean.   Not that I have anything against Pisceans, but it has left me puzzled.  Do you have the time to explain, please?

The Now Extinct Aquarian.

Dear Now Extinct Aquarian,

You are born on the cusp of a sign. ie; right near the very end or beginning. Your Sun is in Aquarius but the reason some scopes list you as Pisces is thus. Every year the Sun changes signs at slightly different times. eg; people born on March 20 one year are a Pisces but the  same birthday the next year would render them an Aries Sun sign individual. Newspapers/scopes et al cannot obviously run an ephemeris to clarify this so they tend to either go for the most likely day the Sun is changing sign OR simply use the dates current that year.

It’s an issue guaranteed to elicit a few outraged e-mails a year. The worst I ever received was from a Scorpio furious that she had “become a Sagittarius without my consent.”  She loathed Saggos, found them really feckless and unsubtle, could not bear their candour and apparent refusal to face up to their responsibilities, fervent desire to be stoned on a great beach someplace rather than shopping with her and alleged inability to not hit on her already ridiculously up herself Aries sister. Yes, there was one particular Sagg gentleman who inspired her wrath.

And a friend of mine who discovered she was not a Capricorn, as she had always thought, but a Sagg said she found that more weird than realising she was gay. Her whole career strategy had been based around being an alpha-Cap, organisation woman.  Does this answer your question???
