Your Astro-Signature

Your “astro-signature” is your Ascendent (aka Rising Sign) Sun Sign and Moon Sign.  This is totally arguable but they are the three most dominant points in your chart. And what’s fun is seeing how well they all get along.

For instance, you can see that having – say – Moon in Leo with Sagittarius Rising would be like a party. Moon in Leo would love the Sagg Risings ability to scare up a good time & Saggo Rising would love the take-anywhere nature of Moon in Leo.  Add in the Sun in Libra for some smooth elegance and voila…a harmonious astro-signature. No discordance.

A Taurus-Pisces-Virgo blend? Easy.

But what if you’re an Aries Sun hiding behind a sultry Scorpio Ascendent? More tricky.

So thinking about the potential relations between your Sun, Rising and Moon signs is an interesting way to think about your chart. Plus it’s easy as well. You can turn them into characters & imagine their dialogue.

I DID this once ages ago, with planets, at some sort of astro-gestalt thing. It was sort of interesting but ghastly.  People had to act out someone’s chart and you should have seen how horrid the person playing Saturn immediately let himself get. Venus just whined about her needs not being met and the character playing Mars got the shits and stalked off to smoke furiously outside.

I have Sun in Pisces, Libra Moon and Aquarius Rising so am fairly easy-breezy most of the time but with sudden eruptions of Piscean psycho-dramatic passions & emotions that really embarrass the terribly rational Moon & Rising…

Watch Your Mag Covers When Mars Retrogrades On Your Midheaven

Right.

In a previous post re Nicole Kidman’s GQ mag cover & her chart I speculated that she actually had an astrologer…She’d timed the GQ thing raving on about fetish what-not to perfectly accentuate her Scorpio Rising.

But this?

It’s a mag read mostly (surely?) by gay guys and menswear fashion industry peeps – nothing wrong with that – with the cover line “crazy for women” (I thought L’Uomo was crazy for gorgeous guys) and with her looking like a boy.

I mean, really.  Yes Geminis are meant to be good at androgyny (don’t bitch at the messenger, I am not the first person to say this – even the God Mercury is a hermaphrodite, no?) but this is weird.

And right now, Nicole K has Mars Retrograde on her Midheaven in Leo. NOT the time to be whacking yourself on the cover of mags or doing risky media. If i were her astrologer, I would say please go away and be fabulous incognito. Come back in June when Mars has well cleared that Midheaven and Uranus in Aries is starting to trine it.

Also, she looks like she is trying not to throw up.

Either Nicole Kidman is getting some schmick astro-advice OR her actual publicist is an astrologer.

How do I know?

Okay, she’s on the cover of GQ in sexy-goo-goo get up (that one glove thing is a bit dodgy, non?) and crapping on about  “strange sexual fetish encounters”

It is a bit of a departure from her usual media and also interesting that she doing the I-can-have-a-baby-and-still-rock-the-cover-of-mens-mags-blah-blah-blah. So a strong, bold and daring media jag for Ms Kidman. Which TOTALLY fits the astro.

You know how Mars is in Leo till mid-2010?  Well, she has it going back and forth over her Jupiter, Midheaven and Venus in Leo combination. This is a totally brilliant time to stage a subtle comeback and brazenly revealing  her ‘darker’ self…

Voila her chart below…See that Leo stuff all at the top?  That’s Jupiter-Midheaven-Venus in Leo all being activated by Mars. Oh and her Scorpio Rising being sextiled by Pluto would be fun – maybe she could do something like The Gwyneth only it’s a newsletter about ‘darker’ topics?

Have a FUN Mars-Venusian style kinda weekend, what with the conjunction enlivening the Dark Moon in Taurus & all….

I am popping up the road to see a Moon-in-Scorpio Rising client of mine, Abbe May,  perform. This clip below is Eclipse themed, given that the Solar Eclipse on July 22 (the longest and most intense in yonks) is bang on her Cancerian Sun. Again, 29 degrees of Cancer/Kataka is the bit of your chart to be looking at with a major fresh start in mind…Plan to revolutionise there…

But the interesting astro idea is that your Rising and/or Ascendent sign really IS your best look.  If you do not know your Rising/Ascendent sign, you can figure it out via Astrodienst or via an astrologer. Once you have it, read that along with your Sun sign in any scope…See how it feels…

Do you embody your Rising Sign astrologically? It makes fashion/image a LOT easier once you accept it and – for astro-fiends only, look at the house placement of your ruling planet (ruler of the ascendent) for the BASE energy of your Look…I swear it makes AMAZING sense upon pondering. You can also have fun looking to fashion/image choices at 7 year intervals – 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 etc – as these are all strong Saturn-Uranian flashpoints.

And of course if you have any BIG outer planet (Uranus, Pluto, Neptune) sitting on our Ascendent (such transits take at least 18 months) then  will perform a spectacular makeover, ready or NOT.  Ascendent astro WORKS. If you need to buy new clothes, wait until Venus is hovering nearby your Asc. Anyway, I am interested in the query – does your look embody your rising sign?

Aries Rising would need bold, primary colours – especially red. Taurus old world luxe & texture v.important. Gemini – trend fiend. Kataka would SO slink around in vintage. Leo, like a Versace look & blinged  up with golden aura. Virgo; precise, layered and with some thought behind it. Libra; classic bombshell. Scorpio; black leather, Sagg; boho & gear from their travels. Cap; austere, power. Aqua; prob the same thing ALL the time but it works? Pisces; crystally yoga wear & aura enhancing hues…

It is the birthday of Katherine Hepburn  (Sun, Moon, Mercury in Taurus, Scorpio Rising, Venus in Aries/6th house)…Note ornery Taurean stubborness and the ruler of Taurus – Venus – in Aries/6th house. Obsession with digestion indeed. Also Venus-in-Aries is independent trailblazer, shunning marriage to be mistress to Spencer Tracy…Taurus with Scorp Rising is sooo fixed.

Astro-Beauty: Eye-Lashes

O.m.g. you SAID you wanted more Astro-Beauty so voila;

Citing your Sun, Moon, Venus and/or Rising Sign – what are your thoughts on Eye-Lashes…Are mascara ad claims a load of shit? Is mascara toxic? Does the actual word ‘mascara’ really come from the ancient Arabic ‘mask’?  Is it better to just get lash tint? Would/could u get eyelash extensions OR risk (apparently) blindness by using one of the new swift-fix style druggie products for doll-like lashes in a few weeks? Eyelash curlers – fabulosity incarnate or a tool of some anti-feminist devil? Are eyelashes the ‘curtains’ of the soul – brows being the frame and eyes the actual window – and if so, so what? Also, do you bat your lashes???

I do and yet i only realise I am doing it if a girlfriend points it out. It’s subliminal…And I love the blue-black lash tint but really, it only lasts a few weeks if that. Love eyelash curling, flip out with gunky mascara & don’t even enjoy the ‘ritual’ of applying it…My Piscean Beauty Fanatic Friend who is expert on everything from Khundalini Yoga to Botox says just olive oil EVERY night on the lashes makes them grow and it is obviously non-chemical/toxic but you have to do it for at least a month to see an effect.

Well I wasn’t going to post re this because I didn’t want to terrify overseas viewers already convinced Australia a land beset by constant calamity; crocs, floods, sharks et al.  But now the apparent pics of politician Pauline Hanson is making news all over the world. And she is sueing. If you don’t know whom she is, Ms Hanson is a former fish and chip shop owner and far right politician notorious for “speaking her mind.”  Freedom of speech is obviously a fabulous thing but given the G.F.C. she could actually be way more dangerous than previously. ANYWAY: Her astro…

She is a Gemini with Scorpio Rising & Pisces Moon…Mars in Capricorn (exalted and in the third house – massive determination & drive + she ain’t shutting up in a hurry) opposes Venus and Jupiter in Cancer.  So she has, um, appetites. My Ex the Uranian and I were watching all this on the plasmas at the gym yesterday & he’s a Bolshevik & a union organiser + part-Koori so she really freaks him but nonetheless he managed to astutely surmise that she’d really ‘go off’.

She is  now saying those are not her in the pics & that she does  not know at ALL the guy who took them so this ramping  up into a hell of a fight. If it was her and she’s got Mars-Venus opposition + Scorp rising, you’d think she would be  having more of a good time. The woman in the pics looks tense. Not how a Scorp Rising would be in such a situation.

She also has Uranus conjunct Midheaven; the stirrer & iconoclast…Pluto is coming up to conjoin her Venus. The revelation of formerly hidden pics of you in the nuddy – or maybe not you, I can’t spell alledgly – is not a prediction I would have thought to offer a client with such a transit. But apt when you think about it, lol. AND Uranus is coming up to conjoin her Moon. I don’t track her. Is she gay yet?  It’s amazing how often Uranus-Moon transits coincide with women coming out of la closet.
