God, how hellish is Haiti?  Obviously we are all sad about it and doing what we can to help, be it personally, via our government or both but if you are interested at all in the astrology of it, Eric Francis has a really good thing on it.

I actually hate looking at the astrology of when-shit-happens as it’s then too easy to become fearful & basically one would end up gibbering under the bed with some garlic & rose quartz everytime Saturn crept to within a nano-metre of Pluto or whatever. So I found Christopher Hitchens Slate article useful and fascinating. Hitchens is SUCH a total Aries bigmouth but a fantastic intellect: Sun-Mercury-Venus-Mars all tight together in Aries.

My astro thoughts on Haiti, for what it’s worth are v.simple. Given that it’s essentially a Saturn-Pluto square event & September 11 was a Saturn-Pluto event (then they were in opposition – now Saturn is squaring Pluto – it’s all part of a huge cycle that began with the Saturn-Pluto conjunction when Israel was created as a nation in the middle East) then you would have to think that beyond the hideous plight of the Haitian people & all the horror, is a further geopolitical crisis, lest the place sink into violent, evil anarchy & thus become home to some depravity which could expand outward seriously fuq with civilisation. eg; terrorist state etc.

SEE! This is why i don’t do astro-politics, even though people such as Eric Francis (above) do it so well and I admire them. Now I am freaking out. And I have so much invested in believing this Saturn-Pluto situation will be ultimately GOOD. And i truly do believe that. eg; that somehow the banking system and whatever it’s called when a third of the world are really fat and a third are starving will be fixed. Civilisation, liberty & equity for all.

So, the Iranian election protests & the death of this poor woman have been profoundly poignant & disturbing…non? I even had weird, weird dreams about Iran last night. Note that at about the same time, the French President goes & triggers the burka debate.

Personally, i am just freaked by any form of religious fundamentalism but astrologically, these issues are firing  up again as Saturn gets set to oppose Uranus in the late degrees of Virgo & Pisces and THEN goes on to square Pluto. It’s the latter that is especially significant, given that the state of Israel was founded under a Saturn-Pluto conjunction, the September 11 attacks in 2001 occurred during Saturn-Pluto opposition and now, voila, the square.

If it were, say, in your chart that it was carrying on, you’d want to solve the issues that emerged early on and innovatively, before Uranus got into Aries and turned the next Saturn-Pluto square into a T-square. These issues (burka, Iran et al) also erupted with the New Moon at Zero degrees of Kataka opposing Pluto…So Uranus at Zero Aries next year & the Saturn-Pluto square in November are all close to this powerful point.

Go The Singularity!

Well, I love that the Ancient Mayans aced the Venus cycles absolutely yonks ago – without telescopes et al, they figured that the Morning Star & the Evening Star – Venus a.k.a. Xolotl – were the same planet, even though appearing on different sides of the sky.

But so far as the future goes, I’m  backing Ray Kurzweil,  a futurist, entrepeneur & mathmatician who says we are about to experience a fabulous & mind-boggling event known as The Singularity.  I was reading a profile of the gent this morning & I knew within nanoseks that he is an Aquarius.  Even apart from The Singularity, all the Aqua indicators were there…

* He invented a program called FatKat – Financial Accelerating Transactions from Kurzweil Adaptive Technologies – that plays the stockmarket for him so that he has more time for other projects. He also invented an automatic poetry generator called the Cybernetic Poet. He has a part-time employee purely to manage his vitamins and nutritional supplements. He is currently working on nanobots that will be injected inside the body to extend human lifespan. Has not consumed sugar for decades but drinks red wine daily, for the reservaterol.

And yah! He is Aquarius – Feb 12 1948 so also with Saturn-Pluto in Leo & Uranus trining his Aqua Sun.

I can’t quite grok what The Singularity is all about…only that amazing technology will be harnessed for the good of ALL – ie; feed the whole world & revolutionise all that ails us now. This would, of course, be a wonderful manifestation of innovative Uranus in gung-ho, pioneering Aries, Pluto in Capricorn & Neptune in Pisces….All of which is upon us soon.

So, next time someone grizzles to me about the Mayans, 2012 movie et al – I shall say ‘but what about The Singularity?’ and be done with it.
