Paul Housley The Decline Of The Archetype

You know what?

Mars & Saturn are both Retrograde and they’re in a sort of sextile…This can evoke some v.useful opportunities for pragmatism, especially re dealings with corporations etc. A military mindset, applied toward positive ends and all that.

But it’s also a guaranteed formula to evoke any bad Dad shite you might have lurking within. Or even a good Dad, but with wasted potential, thwarted psyche urges & well, you know the drill. I’m not a shrink but Mars-Saturn Retro means mining the Daddy Dearest nostalgia vein will hit psychic gold real fast.

So hands up who’s doing about a 1000 things at once, heated right up now that Venus is in Aries, pissed off at how a certain something seems to be in slo-mo AND is doing father issues on top of all this?

Since last October, Mars has been retracking the path that Saturn (lessons, karma, obstacles, earthly rules) took from July 2005 until September 2006.

Since the start of March, Mars has been buzzing away at the July/August 2005 point of Saturn….More on Mars later but for now, see if those date are not evocative.

Also, if you could do a really quick little time-tour backwards to visit your slightly younger self in this time frame, what would you say to her/him.  Advice? Perspective?

Or if you want to do a Saturn cycle situation: How does late 96 and early 97 resonate for you?  What would you tell THAT person who was you??? Tres psych but also some good insights, yes?

God, this is actually the usually tres Libran Catherine Zeta Jones, papped yesterday.

Amazing what a Saturn transit can do to a woman.  It must be interesting having a husband who is a full Saturn cycle older than you but you’re both doing Saturn-Sun transits at the same time – because they have the same birthday only 29 years apart for whatever it is…

She is apparently making movies in which she stars as Cleopatra (yes, the Cleopatra) and Gala Dali, wife to Dali. So very Saturnine heavy-hitter role choices there.

Art & Ghosts

When the Moon moves into Libra and starts to conjoin Saturn/square Pluto,  one naturally thinks of one’s secrets. But because it’s a Libran Moon, they can seem quite elegant, more like delicious surreal things to be weirdly cherished…Still intense though.

So now the Moon is Dark (ie; right at the end of her Moonwane) and in Capricorn, so setting off the Saturn-Pluto Square that is one of the key themes this year.

If you’re not feeling the fabulousity of the Auspicious Aqua Weirding (the rare and beautiful Chiron-Neptune conjunction) it may because you’re trying to ignore a Saturn-Pluto reality…most likely something to do with a merde health habit, quasi-hysterical financial policy or desperately dysfunctional relationship but you’re sticking it for reasons not so much to do with sentiment/loyalty as fear and so-called convenience.

You see, Chiron and Neptune are beyond the bounds of Saturn so if there are Saturn-Girl style issues to look at, Saturn blocks the cosmic light.

Otherwise, if you’re in tune with Saturn, this Moon feels pretty damned good; a lot of finishing up ye olde biz, dealing with deets and actually toting up accomplishments. The low-ebb bit of it comes because you just don’t truly want to go all out in decadence mode. You’d rather work late or at least let your bod work hard for you doing cell renewal whilst you wander the realms of Morpheus, dreaming grand visons & doing your dark-time psyche work.

Right now, Mars and Saturn are Retrograde. And linked in such a way that they could work awesomely together in tandem.

Given that these are powerful, action-planets & that Saturn lends wisdom to the oomph of Mars + their being retrograde is about a revision, it makes sense to look at where they are in your chart.

Mars is at 6 Leo and Saturn at 4 Libra. ie; the very early degrees of these signs. Find which house (chart sector) these are in your chart and think about what to do with that area of life can be ruthlessly revamped and with great glee.  Because that’s the kind of energy it is and it’s totally worth tapping into.

Think: Extra willpower, elegant control and chic assertion in the areas of your scope/chart/life where you have early Leo and early Libra. Also that the arena for this steely evolution is one that has been activated since early last November.  And that you’re kind of stuck at this point, going back and forth until you totally get something. Like, REALLY get it. Grokking the issue du jour.

Think this through enough and you will get an ‘aha’ moment.

The Walking Man by Giacometti has broken the world mega-bucks $$$ record in sculpture, selling to an anonymous bidder over the telephone for $104 million US. You know how it is, when you have a few drinks and there is a lot of Aquarius action in the air. You VALUE art for fuqs sake.

The sculptor is a Libran but i’m betting he had s-loads of Saturn going on in his chart as a lot of his work looked like this. And I couldn’t have this in the house (even if someone gave it to me, lol, I’d hire or charitably donate him out to places) because the spindly legs flip me out. Like a tall man striding out of a concentration camp or something with his poor feet sticking in glug and the back foot looks like he is wearing heels from two seasons ago.

It’s so Saturnine. I mean, really, does this sculpture not epitomise Thin and Rich?

So if you had just over $100 million to blow on sculpture, where would you put this thing? By the fridge to stop you from doing late night Carbophilia? In the garden as a Yuppy Scarecrow?  In your bedroom to hang your discarded clothes off?

The kind of art you like is your Moon so when answering, please quote your Moon…

My Moon is in Libra so I like only classical Greek style sculptures that are sort of curvy and well-built…This thing worries me. Apparently, The Walking Man was done in the 1960s and purposely to go around banks in Manhatten…So, what does that mean? Is there an Art Historian in the house?

Finally: So appropriate that THiS is the big art shebang of Saturn Square Pluto in Capricorn for the 2nd time.

I don’t have a single planet in the sign of the Sea-Goat but I’m turning Capricorn.

I so completely blame the Saturn-Pluto Square for this.

I’m getting Capricorn Consciousness.  At least, I think that’s what it is.  Could any actual real-life Capricorns please enlighten me.

I am walking home and realize that i need to buy olive oil spread (like butter) but that i’ll have to either get $ out at a non-my-bank atm & thus pay a fee or purchase enough stuff to make the shop card limit. Petty stuff. Usually, i would be like so t.f what. But my Capricorn Consciousness said “you know what? You don’t even NEED revolting hydrogenated crap in your arteries. Live clean. You are not going to give that bank a cent that you don’t have to and why go and buy extra stuff you don’t actually need? Enjoy the thrill of not doing it…”

Guys, this is how Capricorns get +stay thin and rich. Stinge on the small stuff so they can slurge on the big items. The only thing I have ever known Capricorns not mind paying for is good advice (like their lawyer).

But for me it’s uncharacteristic. So if you haven’t been paying attention up the back there, Saturn in Libra squared (a challenge) Pluto in Capricorn last November and just the other day.  Saturn is now whizzing backward to oppose Uranus again (that all began last Feb) and then forward again to square Pluto for the third and final time in August 2010.

So a lot of us are doing Saturn Girl/Capricorn Consciousness and it’s feelling okay. It’s sort of like we are settling into Pluto in Capricorn. I mean, it’s there until 2024.  And you know Saturn RULES Capricorn so when Saturn aspects Pluto in the sign that it rules, you betcha there are tangible changes and some hardcore pragmatism.

Even my Saggo Neighbour Dude, renowned for his feck-free approach to life, has embarked upon a cleaning, gardening (growing salad vegetables to provide his band with cheap nutrition so they can work extra-long hours) and 60hour a week funds-sourcing ventures.

Daffy Duck

There is an underlying serenity in the atmosphere as Jupiter gets off on being in Pisces (one of the signs he rules along with our Saggo) AND the Venus trine Saturn in Libra vibe is tres composed and worldly. BUT the Moon is in Aries and impatience reigns. Fast talking, fast thinking and w.t.f. do you mean ‘please can you repeat that?’ Come the weekend Taurean Moon and tranquility will reign along with strategic patience. Moon in Aries doesn’t give a fuq about patience. It’s like ‘get to the point already.’

Mervis Diamonds

Let’s contemplate our Libra for a nano…

* Sweet tooth?

* Love of Pink?

* Appreciates Expensive Gifts?

* Thinks cupcakes chic?

* Diamond is their birthstone?

* Needs things to be done ‘right’?

* Enjoys the smell of highly expensive icing?

* Currently has the shits as Saturn stationing Retro in Libra, sending out erratic guilting-rays of ‘get-thy-shit-together-now-or-your-end-is-nigh’ style crap that affect everyone a bit but ESPECIALLY our Libby-Fleur, particularly those born in September?

The answer is YES times seven.

I betcha all these factors fit a Libran you know…Now, you need only figure out a way to afford the world’s most expensive cupcake at just over $100,000.
