I felt the urge to get a Hematite bracelet in February – around about when i wanted an Ankh…something is up – and it’s always good to follow those callings…no?

Hematite is just iron oxide – I don’t think it’s even considered semi-precious, my bracelet cost just $25.  So it’s demi-precious or something. But it is magic.

Hematite was adored in Ancient Babylon and Egypt, where they used it to fend off curses & negative projections. If someone is thinking merde about you or wishing you ill, hematite is said to reflect it back. It’s credited with dragging out the emotional source of illness, being grounding and aiding in psychic powers.

Think of it for  help when you feel drained and for when you want, lol, an Iron Will.

It’s a very Saturn-Plutonic stone.

You know what?

Mars & Saturn are both Retrograde and they’re in a sort of sextile…This can evoke some v.useful opportunities for pragmatism, especially re dealings with corporations etc. A military mindset, applied toward positive ends and all that.

But it’s also a guaranteed formula to evoke any bad Dad shite you might have lurking within. Or even a good Dad, but with wasted potential, thwarted psyche urges & well, you know the drill. I’m not a shrink but Mars-Saturn Retro means mining the Daddy Dearest nostalgia vein will hit psychic gold real fast.

So hands up who’s doing about a 1000 things at once, heated right up now that Venus is in Aries, pissed off at how a certain something seems to be in slo-mo AND is doing father issues on top of all this?

You know, I’ve said this before but I’m definitely starting to think it now: There are two types of Capricorn. One is more ruled by Pan-Dionysus kind of energy and the other by our lord Saturn.

See above for an example of Capricorn Type One, the cheekbony Ms Moss, avec Diet Coke, a fag & some alcoholic potion for perspective. All the ambition is present, of course, and there is still a work ethic but any control freakery does  not extend to body-as-a-temple policy.

Capricorn Type Two is embodied by Trudie Styler, aka co-producer of Moon and Mrs Sting, seen here below doing yoga at either her huge organic farm home or the Tuscan yoga ranch.

Capricorn One believes in preserving the body through constant intake of chemicals and other crap that will constantly challenge the immune system to become even more vigorous. Plus they just divert their work ethic into stamina to withstand an endless amount of toxins that would in fact poison anyone but Capricorn One. They’re also able to believe that everything they snort, eat or inhale converts to health and beauty via sheer willpower.  If the occasion is the ‘right’ occasion, of COURSE.

Capricorn Two shudders at the thought of common food and is perfectly happy to go the extra 900,000 whatevers to score the correct variety of biodynamic celeriac that will perfectly blend with the delicately honed bodily systems of Capricorn Two…They’re not just winging it and flinging any old organic crap down their gullett. Their diet is scientifically calibrated. Everything is measured. People say Saturn is their God and he is but the secondary Muse is Mensa, Goddess of Measurement. Whether it is weight or debt, there are numbers involved and Capricorn Two gets numbers.

Right now, Mars and Saturn are Retrograde. And linked in such a way that they could work awesomely together in tandem.

Given that these are powerful, action-planets & that Saturn lends wisdom to the oomph of Mars + their being retrograde is about a revision, it makes sense to look at where they are in your chart.

Mars is at 6 Leo and Saturn at 4 Libra. ie; the very early degrees of these signs. Find which house (chart sector) these are in your chart and think about what to do with that area of life can be ruthlessly revamped and with great glee.  Because that’s the kind of energy it is and it’s totally worth tapping into.

Think: Extra willpower, elegant control and chic assertion in the areas of your scope/chart/life where you have early Leo and early Libra. Also that the arena for this steely evolution is one that has been activated since early last November.  And that you’re kind of stuck at this point, going back and forth until you totally get something. Like, REALLY get it. Grokking the issue du jour.

Think this through enough and you will get an ‘aha’ moment.

The Walking Man by Giacometti has broken the world mega-bucks $$$ record in sculpture, selling to an anonymous bidder over the telephone for $104 million US. You know how it is, when you have a few drinks and there is a lot of Aquarius action in the air. You VALUE art for fuqs sake.

The sculptor is a Libran but i’m betting he had s-loads of Saturn going on in his chart as a lot of his work looked like this. And I couldn’t have this in the house (even if someone gave it to me, lol, I’d hire or charitably donate him out to places) because the spindly legs flip me out. Like a tall man striding out of a concentration camp or something with his poor feet sticking in glug and the back foot looks like he is wearing heels from two seasons ago.

It’s so Saturnine. I mean, really, does this sculpture not epitomise Thin and Rich?

So if you had just over $100 million to blow on sculpture, where would you put this thing? By the fridge to stop you from doing late night Carbophilia? In the garden as a Yuppy Scarecrow?  In your bedroom to hang your discarded clothes off?

The kind of art you like is your Moon so when answering, please quote your Moon…

My Moon is in Libra so I like only classical Greek style sculptures that are sort of curvy and well-built…This thing worries me. Apparently, The Walking Man was done in the 1960s and purposely to go around banks in Manhatten…So, what does that mean? Is there an Art Historian in the house?

Finally: So appropriate that THiS is the big art shebang of Saturn Square Pluto in Capricorn for the 2nd time.

This is Michaeale and Tareq Salahi, a couple from North Virginia who are apparently renowned social climbers.  So much so that they gatecrashed the White House State Dinner held the other night for the Indian President or P.M. or something. This is apparently the FIRST time in modern history that such a thing has occurred. Q’uelle fuqing NERVE.

I’d love to have been able to witness the moment they came up with the idea. Were they sitting around the pool drinking mint juleps and to distract her from eyeing up the pool boy, he said something about being invited to the White House and then had to kind of sort it? Or did they cook it up and decide to say, if they were busted, that they’d got the wrong HOUSE?

The couple’s publicist – a person named Mahogany Jones – said they had a fabulous time but did not address the issue of them being uninvited. The Security Service has initiated their own enquiry, as  you would. They were not caught btw. She posted pix of them with the Vice President etc on her Facebook page and it flowed on from there.

Okay, so this interests me as SHE is a LIBRAN.  I can’t find  his b-day as he v.cagey about his birthdate. She LOOKS so Libran, lol and i often joke that they are social climbers/gate-crashers to fab events. It’s a loving joke. But reading about this genius and amazingly ambitious gatecrash, i wondered if maybe super-ambitious gate-crashing is going to be a Saturn in Libra thing. Sort of like streaking in the Seventies?

Also, Librans, do admit: Your gate-crashing inclinations? Machinations to get onto the right lists?

And what sign do we think Mr Salahi is?  The pair are also trying to get onto Real Housewives of something or rather, they play Polo, own Polo ponies and have winery interests.

I found this looking for Saturn Girl pix.

Apparently, it is a graphic novel.

Has anyone read it? And what do we think is going on here?

Everyone has a Lord or a Lady of their chart. It is the ruler of your Ascendent. As this is fairly ancient ye olde worlde astro, a lot of peeps think you should consider the ‘old’ rulers to be in effect. eg; If you have Pisces Rising, you would say  you are ‘ruled’ by Jupiter, not Neptune. But I don’t bother with this because I have Aquarius Rising and I’d rather be Uranian than Saturnine.

So, the idea is not that you owe allegiance to some feudal overlord or capricious dame such as the Moon BUT that  you keep a v.close eye on the Lord/Lady as it is v.likely to be super-significant.  You might also like to think in terms of developing/enhancing some of the qualities associated with that planet. eg; Say you have Aries Rising – Mars is your Lord…You would do well to be actively competitive & move hard on winning in the areas of the chart where Mars is transitting.

The chart ruler is v.important in Horary astrology, where you ask a question and run a chart for the moment of the question.

Farewell Saturn in Virgo but of course, we will see Saturn back there again in 2010. Hence the importance of having done one’s Saturn Thru Virgo review…If  you are a devout Saturn tracker – and frankly, you ought to be if you have anything significant in the later degrees of a Mutable sign (Gemini, Pisces, Virgo, Saggo) – then Saturn retrogrades back into Virgo in April 2010 and covers the same territory as it between early October 2009 and now. Then it finishes up in Virgo for 30 years in July 2010.

So April-July 2010 is when the undone/unacknowledged tasks of October come back to, um, see you. I was going to use the word haunt and a really spooked up metaphor but i decided against it. Perhaps see it more as a revision test. But this is why it’s a good idea to absolutely grok all of October’s Saturn issues. They will seem to ease radically but don’t slide back into pre-Saturn-in-Virgo complacency.

November is quite volatile, especially the first two weeks. There are s-loads of Fixed Squares featuring face-offs between planets in Leo, Aquarius and Scorpio.  These alone can feel frustrating. Peeps are infuriatingly obstinate and truculent types get power-trippy. You may have to detach and do thy own thing. Don’t rely on other peeps flexibility or even clarity.

Then again, there is the Saturn-Pluto square. Rather, the first of a series of these things. Saturn and Pluto last interacted in late 2001. It tends to coincide with geopolitically significant events. BUT November is fantastic for growth, initiating reforms and stylish personal evolution. Just don’t go on any powertrips and be super-straight, tranquil and even dull – if you can manage it – mid-month.

Think positivist reconfiguring as opposed to bombastic gestures.
