November is quite volatile, especially the first two weeks. There are s-loads of Fixed Squares featuring face-offs between planets in Leo, Aquarius and Scorpio.  These alone can feel frustrating. Peeps are infuriatingly obstinate and truculent types get power-trippy. You may have to detach and do thy own thing. Don’t rely on other peeps flexibility or even clarity.

Then again, there is the Saturn-Pluto square. Rather, the first of a series of these things. Saturn and Pluto last interacted in late 2001. It tends to coincide with geopolitically significant events. BUT November is fantastic for growth, initiating reforms and stylish personal evolution. Just don’t go on any powertrips and be super-straight, tranquil and even dull – if you can manage it – mid-month.

Think positivist reconfiguring as opposed to bombastic gestures.

Libra is classically the sign of beauty, beauty-care and beauty rituals…It’s interesting that a photo-shopping debate is emerging as Saturn goes into Libra. Lunar-Libra that I am, I can see both p.o.vs.  Yes to the unreal expectations such heavy altering of images creates. I felt so sad a while ago when I found my completely pretty & fit 16 year old neighbour with tears welling up in her eyes as she gazed at some swimsuit feature in a woman’s mag.

At the same time,  if i was going to have my fizzog plastered all over the place, i’d love some digital magic to Neptune me up into an other-worldly version of myself.

Anyway, Saturn into Libra naturally requires new beauty rituals and definitely a purge of one’s vanity cupboard. The lipstick museum, hair products that don’t actually work but are being hoarded for their talismanic value, skin cream that makes you break out but cannot be thrown out due to cost of purchase, ye olde bacteria harbouring mascara & all – turfed as your celebration of Saturn into Libra.

Imagine. The cold-hard logic of Saturn Girl and her 22nd Century level telepathic powers applied to your skincare regime etc. Bliss. At the behest of my Aries beautician – she fled the Pinochet Regime in the 70s and had only time to grab her children + make-up,  that’s it – I have  just ordered a silk pillowcase.  Apparently cotton, which feels go gorgeous and cool to lay ones face upon at night, does dastardly things to the face and hair – creating frazzle & crinkles.

This SO fits Saturn into Libra…It is totally cost-effective, practical and yet sort of princessy and elegant. What else could be a rational response to Saturn in Libra so far as one’s beauty ritual is concerned?  It has to be frugal because let’s face it, Pluto is just warming up in Capricorn. And it can’t be all Zen-Hippy mixing up henna and egg shit as that’s more Saggo than Libra.

515R19RtexL._SS500_A la Bookslut & Anne Rice in the Guardian  Angels are the new Vampires.

This makes perfect sense to me as Angels seem v.v. Saturn in Libra – clean, fluffy, godly and all. Whereas Vampires could very easily vibe Virgoan and a bit neurotic. All that fussing about blood types, diet, purity, having to keep totally regular hours or else they will disintegrate or whatever. So bring on the Angels!!

And I would have gone ape over these Joey W Hill books when i was 14. Is that like a Lilith style of succubi writhing around with a studly looking clearly hovering on the verge of falling Angel???

It doesn’t matter WHAT everyone tells you to do, what you think you should do or however this weekend is being played; the Moon is in Capricorn and Saturn schlepping along through the end degrees of Virgo. Status anxiety and performance awareness vie with health-time-efficiency-motion study AND task consciousness…It won’t go away till you measure it, define it, write it down, acknowledge it and create a plan to address the inefficiencies in your system.

And then, once you have satisfied the Saturn-Cap vibe by delineating what was previously vague…voila! Zen-Zone…Never mind that it may, in theory, take till the next time Uranus rounds the Earth for you to get a grip on the admin-self-esteem nexus. T’is the effort that is prized by la luna in Cap et al.

phprTM8N0AMNo offence and I hope that you do not mind if I point this out to you but Saturn has less than five days to go in Virgo and this would be a really good time to read/re-read Seven Things Virgo Hates About You…Just as a reminder of key areas to revise during the next week. I KNOW. Saturn Girl is hot. And boundaries are sexy things that create more room in our lives for what is authentic and emancipation. Still, look. Please.

And here whizzes the Moon into Saggo…!  It’s so rad! And Venus is trining the ruler of Saggo, Jupiter. They are going to be insufferable. But if you need to seduce one – or get him/her onside for a scheme, even – go find one. They are the Yes-People du jour. Plus the Moon in Saggo is trined by Mars. It’s a big Fire-signed few days of hotness, daring and radical candour.

Though i’d beware of telling Leos they look ‘tired’ because they’ll think you mean ‘gaunt’ or ‘well’ because they will interpet it as ‘fat’. Don’t tell Leos a THING so long as Mars is in their sign. Just nod in awe-struck admiration and give them all your money without them having to actually ask for it. Sagg Moon is also restless, outdoorsy & prone to mouthing off a bit. Okay, a lot. Schedule in physical activity/outdoor something or prep to go noisily bats.

The Moon’s Scorpionic & so too will the Sun be by Friday…Mars is in Leo till next June – get Martian Bats if you haven’t already – and Saturn has just ten more days to stay in Virgo for now!!! S-Loads of change is afoot & the Scorpio Moon is a brilliant time to emotionally process it all and get to pertinent, striking perceptions with ease. It’s sexy too + metaphysical & a tad power-trippy + the now-building trine from Venus to Jupiter means flirtations or new money biz can expand rapidly out of more or less nothing. The Moon in Scorp and Mars in Leo (anything between Leo and Scorp, actually) always feels a bit like Jungle Energy…don’tcha reckon?  And btw, if the Mutable signs are going to gloat about Saturn getting out of Virgo, that’s awesome but please don’t freak out the Cardinals.

Mutables; Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, Pisces – have been affected on and  off by Saturn since late 2007. A bit austere, details-ridden and ancient feeling than they would prefer. Especially Saggo who also  had Pluto for heaps of it.

Cardinals; Capricorn, Libra, Aries, Cancerians…I call the latter Kataka on the Daily Scopes…It is Ancient Sanskrit name for their sign. Sacred Scarab and all that. Cardinals – especially those born early in their sign- are about to get a zap from Saturn…All perfectly for their own good and growth, naturally. All Cardinals should totally have the Saturnalia Confidential...

Happy New Moon in Libra and, as you know, it is enhanced/trined by beautiful Neptune…Hence the classic New Moon fresh beginning vibe is super-responsive to visualisation, hypnosis and generally dreaming your way into the future you desire…And behold! Kim Falconer sends me her guest post from Jeanette Maw’s Good Vibe Blog…It’s super-apt…here is a bit but you can click thru to read the whole thing…

“…Many of you have heard me talk about astrology and law of attraction, but for those who haven’t, here ‘s the nut shell: Astrology (the birth time and place) doesn’t determine our character. It’s the other way around. We’re born at a particular time because of who we are. We don’t reflect the moment of birth—it reflects us!  Our astrology cannot limit conscious awareness, however it can offer timely insights and support along the way to our enlightenment.

It is in this spirit I offer these tips under the New Libra Moon!

Tip one: Find your story

To alter your thoughts about love (i.e. improve your love life) you have to know what they are in the first place. The quickest way to find out is to ask. ‘What’s my story?’ (In six words or less please. Any longer and it’s the gremlins talking.) If you think it’s too hard to say it in so few worlds, relax. Your unconscious took care of it for you long ago. (Handy if the words are I have a wonderful love life. Or, Love is bliss. Or, I’m so darn lucky in love.  Not such a bonus if it out to be, Men suck.

No matter what you might be doing to shift your love vibe around, things aren’t going to budge while your story remains unconscious. When unknown, the story is fate—it creates your ‘relationship reality’. If I say, ‘all the good ones are taken,’ sure enough when I look for them, their taken! (This is something I used to say a lot and demon’s fire if it wasn’t true . . . until I changed my tune!)…”

Merry Mercury Direct & now, well, things go faster and there should be heaps less of that mixed-messaging style confusion but as I say, Mercury Retrograde purists don’t count it as DONE until Mercury gets back to six degrees of Libra, the point at where it went Retro in the first place. How I Think This Works: The contracts signing being a bad idea, shit breaking down, crazy Freudian slippage and all that stuff is done once Mercury is Direct. But dialogue from as far back as mid-August still has a while to play out. There will be further developments on any important dialogue in that time. Or reversals. Weirdings. Revelations. Secrets. You get the idea. Particularly when Mercury Squares Pluto again for the third time in a row on October 11.
