Annex - Grant, Cary (My Favorite Wife)_01

Mercury zipped from Gemini skies to Cancerian waters over the weekend. It’s an UP for emotional awareness and goobly deep dialogue but can also manifest as peeps contacting one merely to grizzle. And, most draining of all, when it becomes clear that they don’t want any helpful suggestions, perspective or to have their Qi raised. July 14 is when Mercury – messenger of the Gods – meets up with the Sun again & in astro-tradition, things lost during the last Mercury-Retrograde (most of May) shall now be found, mysteries solved and resolutions reached.

George-Sand

Cross-dresser, author, Bohemian, proto-feminist, runaway Baroness & divorcee – happy birthday George Sand a.k.a.  Amandine Aurora Lucile Dupin…Chopin – amongst many others  – loved her. Baudelaire loathed her: “She is stupid, heavy and garrulous. Her ideas on morals have the same depth of judgment and delicacy of feeling as those of janitresses and kept women…. The fact that there are men who could become enamoured of this slut is indeed a proof of the abasement of the men of this generation.”

Astro-Fiends can see her chart on Astrodienst here:  Her Cancerian Sun is trine Pluto in Pisces Rising (that’s a social change avatar, for a start) and Uranus in Libra squares the Sun/quincunxes Pluto and trines her Mercury in Gemini. She has Moon in Aries opposite Jupiter – a protective influence, despite the fact she was totally challenging the values of her society – eg; getting custody of her kids when it was not common, particularly if rushing off from an aristocrat to have a lesbian affair et al, supporting herself via novel-writing – AND she had a Neptune-Lilith conjunction in Scorpio. Nice. She was definitely chanelling some darker version of the eternal feminine & note that Neptune the ruler of her chart. Also that Pluto (rising) is the ruler of Scorp.

“…Chapter One…

On a certain cool, rainy evening in autumn, in a small château in Brie, three pensive individuals were gravely occupied in watching the wood burn on the hearth and the hands of the clock move slowly around the dial. Two of these silent guests seemed to give way unreservedly to the vague ennui that weighed upon them; but the third gave signs of open rebellion: he fidgeted about on his seat, stifled half audibly divers melancholy yawns, and tapped the snapping sticks with tongs, with a manifest intention of resisting the common enemy.

This person, who was much older than the other two, was the master of the house, Colonel Delmare, an old warrior on half-pay, once a very handsome man, now over-corpulent, with a bald head, gray moustache and awe-inspiring eye; an excellent master before whom everybody trembled, wife, servants, horses and dogs.

At last he left his chair, evidently vexed because he did not know how to break the silence, and began to walk heavily up and down the whole length of the salon, without laying aside for an instant the rigidity which characterizes all the movements of an ex-soldier, resting his weight on his loins and turning the whole body at once, with the unfailing self-satisfaction peculiar to the man of show and the model officer….”

Today is the birthday of the amazing Josephine Baker – all I really knew of her was that she was an amazingly talented and spectacular singer/dancer, known as the Bronze Venus & that she adopted a dozen children – all from different races & countries. A la Angelina Jolie, born on June 4, btw. I always think of her as that girl in the banana skirt.

But there is so much more to her!  From a  horribly hard childhood, she became celebrated and was the first African-American woman (her parents had been slaves) to star in a major motion picture. She was offered the leadership of the American Civil Rights movement after Martin Luther King was killed. She received the French Croix De Guerre for her work with the French Resistance. She actually volunteered to be a spy the day that World War II broke out. There is loads more…

She’s TOTALLY a Gemini; Sun, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter & Pluto all together in Gemini & squared by Saturn in Pisces.

Here we go again with Mercurial Bats guys. Yes, the planet of communication & messenger of the Gods is in retrograde motion from May 7 until 31st. It goes retro at 2 Gemini & then whizzes all the way back to 22 Taurus. Ie; where it was at on April 22. Then, it gets back to 2 Gemini on June 14.

Mercury Retro purists would consider the Mercurial Bats zone to be from April 22 to June 14 but that’s too long for me. Still, any conversation in that time could technically be so revised & reversed. You know the drill. From the 7th, no purchasing big thingies nor signing contracts. You can vibe cool & composed chez work by being The Calm One who does not leap to embrace the new-fangled nor erupt at a crisis.

BUT it’s brill for the getting of wisdom & particular where-ever you have Taurus in your scope. You do it via a placid work-over of the area in question, re-examining where you’re at, what you’re doing & why. Thus you unearth the secret treasure of Retro-Mercury. But it’ll still be bats.

I will deal with this properly on Nightly Scopes sign by sign but the short version; Aries – $$$, assets & self-worth, Taurus – Self-image/independence v.s relationship, appearance, Gemini – Soul, spirituality, that which is secret, Kataka – Social life, friends, old ones zoom in again, Leo- Career/public image, overlings, reputation, overall vocational scheme, Virgo – Travel, offshore interests, religion, philosophy, academia, Libra – Sex, the Occult and your ability to powerfully regenerate yourself, Scorp- Love, Significant partnerships, Relationships – exaggarated by the Full Moon in your Sign! Saggo – Work, admin & health – fantastic time to revise ALL systems, Capricorn – Creativity, fertility, children & artistic self-expression – good time to pick up ye olde screenplay or quickly try something experimental you have been musing on for a while, Aquarius- Chez Aqua, family of origin merde, planning a revamp coherently, fixing the Feng Shui, thinking re ancestors, Pisces – short journeys, siblings, your various communication methods; don’t buy a new phone!

UPDATE; Have just put an extended rave re Mercurial Bats for each sign up with the Nightly Scopes

Mercury, Hermes, Thoth…The quicksilvery Messenger Of The Gods is in Gemini but for a fleet visit as on May 7,  Mercury goes Retro and retreats back into Taurus.  So what goes on in the next 14 days may then seem to die down but it flares up again mid-June, when Mercury gets back into Gemini again.

See house/sector he in or Nightly Scopes for info re how this most likely to affect you. 22 Taurus to 1 Gemini & for reasons to long-winded to lecture-rant about here: the Retrograde starts on May 7 but I am timing it from NOW.

Watch contract signing, big purchases and how you handle sensitive information. I need to SO watch the latter, as tend to forward hilarious yet spiteful “commentary” to the person they were about rather than to the person i thought would most appreciate my bitcherel.

And – I took down my Twitter link. I LOVE Twitter but i find it takes too much time away from doing what i want to do which is build up the info on this site & make it really amazing with heaps to offer. Also am not sure my tweetings of such things as “got back from gym, had smoothie, swore at cat” etc are really that, um, lucid. Even if I can get them into 140 characters…

It’s kinda interesting that the Swine Fever news breaks just as Mercury is in slo-mo to go Retrograde. It’s not till next week but we are in the zone. Mercury nips into Gemini (sign of his rulership) and then goes retrograde back through Taurus & thus squaring Neptune, Chiron & Jupiter several times in May. The very same signs lining up in an glorious & rare Age-Of-Aquarius style astro-weirding for late May. Mercury  in dodgy aspect to Jupiter means things go O.T.T. real fast.  To Neptune – it reeks of deceit & shadowy motives. Chiron…A lesson? A healing?

My first really cynical thought re this was that there’s a buck to be made here. And if everyone is inside glugging echinachea & spraying lemongrass around, doing “i am in vibrant health” affirmations there’s less likely to be a middle-class riot as the late Scorpionic novelist J.G. Ballard predicted. And then i thought, how weird that there is that old phrase ‘capitalist pig’ – i heard it a bit when dating the Uranian last year – and now there is apparently a potential pandemic of Swine Flu.

Anyway, Mercury goes retro soon & with all the weird squares from Taurus to Aquarius so lots more warps and tangents in this tale yet. Eric Francis on Planet Waves is doing a really detailed analysis of the Pig Fever  if you are interested.

Mercury is a fascinating planet/god. He is a psychopomp – a fantastic word meaning guide of the souls or soul conductor; This character who goes between worlds with ease. He is the messenger of the Gods & in astrology, the planet Mercury signifies how you think/talk etc. But Mercury is also the God of Commerce! And so Mercury going Bats (retro) in mostly the sign of Taurus this time is going to be quite interesting, non? Lots of interesting info coming to light. And maybe some really fresh ideas.

These amazing pics are from old US Stocks & Bonds – they often loved to depict Mercury due to his reign over commerce. There are a whole lot more cool illos on the site itself.

And, in the spirit of wonderful Mercury, what are your thoughts on the Piggy Fever? Are you freaking out, really over the news of late or cynically waving it aside as yet another ‘construct’ from the Matrix or something.

This is so NOT, btw, to belittle the vileness and pain of what has actually occurred in Mexico, obviously.

I may be totally wrong on this as the astrology of shit-happening is so not my thing, but i don’t think Pluto in Capricorn has much to do with pandemics…Saturn in Virgo opposite Uranus in Pisces is more like it. So, if that were the key signature, as opposed to a Mercurial Bats square Neptune Wag The Dog scenario, then it’s looking more like a crisis/opportunity to massively reform a whole pile of things from factory farming to the ease with which peeps flit around the globe as disease vectors & this is without even going into eco issues.

UPDATE: Okay, it IS kinda Pluto in Capricorny – big biz cost-cutting & creating hellishly revolting pig abbatoir etc in place where labours costs/laws soooo low & all here.
