cloud

So I was thinking about that Cloud Sofa & my mind meandered onto the old phrase “cloud nine” – as in a fab place to be. Apparently is linked to either a Buddhist stage of enlightenment or US Weather Prediction terminology.

And then i thought how meditative it is to lie and watch the clouds moving & that there is a very ancient style of divination called (amongst other things) aeromancy…Have you ever looked at a certain cloud formation and it seemed to tell you something?

And then i found this from here…

“They drew auguries from observation of the clouds. On the eve of a certain Samain, Dathi, king of Ireland (A.D. 405 to 428), who happened at the time to be at Cnoc-ndn-druad (‘the druids’ hill’: now Mullaroe, and often incorrectly called Red Hill), in the parrsh of Skreen, Sligo, west of Ballysadare Bay, where there was then a royal residence, ordered his druid to forecast for him the events of his reign from that till next Samain. The druid went to the summit of the hill, where he remained all night, and, returning at sunrise, addressed the king somewhat as the witches addressed Macbeth: – ‘Art thou asleep, O King of Erin and Alban (Scotland)! ”Why the addition to my title!’ asked the king: ‘I am not king of Alban.’ And the druid answered that he had consulted ‘the clouds of the men of Erin,’ by which he found out that the king would make a conquering expedition to Alban, Britain, and Gaul: which accordingly he did soon afterwards.”

This account of cloud divination is corroborated by the existence in Irish of the word néladóir for an astrologer or diviner: and neladóracht glosses ‘pyromantia’ (‘divination by fire’), in an old Irish treatise on Latin declension.” But the primary meaning ofnéladóir is ‘cloud-diviner’, and of neladóracht, ‘divination by clouds’; for nél, néul, néll, means ‘a cloud’, even to this day, and not star or fire.”

Taureans are supposed to be the transcendental sign & thus the natural-born meditators…I think Mercury in Taurus would also be a whiz at it. I Love reading lists of meditation’s benefits: Relaxation, wisdom, beauty, anti-aging, circulation – and it’s free! I find it hard as i have Mercury in Aries and my mind charges all over the place, when i try to still it. Your Mercury signifies your Mind. Seriously, you know what it’s like when you try to get an Aries to do anything…But please, citing your Sun and your Mercury sign if you know it, do you/how do you/can you meditate??

Yes, it’s a fabulous time for a new beginning – any New Moon is good but a strong Solar Eclipse in the fertile sign of Kataka & with Uranus favourably aspecting is awesome.  So, go for it, name your resolution in the comments & experience the joy of a public avowal.

Mine is in the 6th house so i am determined to set aside time for proper meditation & a (most of the time) pre-bed ritual so that I’m  not lying there with my mind abuzz. So will master my circadian and other rhythms to zap my brainwaves into Theta or whatever fast. ie: more serenity & all. And to joyously develop better admin systems.

And yours???

two-toed-slothThe sloth is the world’s slowest mammal, so sedentary that algae grows on its furry coat. It sleeps in trees, for up to 20 hours a day.

It’s Dark Moon time again! That is, the Moonwane phase which goes from now right through until the fabulous New Moon on Sunday which kicks off the Auspicious Aqua-Weirding of late May/early June.  Now, one is supposed to rest during the Dark Moon. Not slack off a la our lovely Sloth- above – but it is the best time to do restorative things.

Countering that is Saturn in Virgo – Saturn in Virgo does not take days off. A Saturn in Virgo “day off” is time taken away from the core work to scour some pots, savagely unclutter (the best Dark Moon activity apart from Epsom Salts baths) and sort one’s financial records. And Mars in Aries self-actualises 24-7; a blur of activity & chutzpah + “I love you, I forgive you” affirmations into the bathroom mirror.

The solution is to see your relative rest phase of the Dark Moon as performance enhancing. And obviously one can’t take the whole thing OFF nor even any of it, most likely – I haven’t even mentioned Pluto in Capricorn here – but pull back a bit on the socialising & non-essential junkets. Schedule a massage or try to bung one of those ten minute meditation tracks on your iPod & fit that in. The Epsom Salts baths, the uncluttering, the mega-nourishing macrobiotic food style situation.

And the Auspicious Aqua-Weirding means that something amazing is brewing in the late Aquarius sector of your chart even as I type this.

The Moon loves to be in the sign of Cancer, sign of her rulership…Despite all the Full Moonie merde the next few days one can be productively emo, sooky goo-goo with loved ones/loyal confidantes and deeply aware. Think also herbal Zen Hippy as way to cope with the intensifying of the Saturn-Uranus opposition. Actually, i just thought of this; the combo of Mars conjunct Neptune and the Cancerian Moon and Venus going retrograde etc make this the ideal weekend to practice Haute Meditation…Yes.

Download something haute-hippy and Zen Noire from Sequoia & see how far you can ramp up your meditation et al. Saggos will naturally astral travel the furtherest whilst Leos will be upgraded to connecting with a supreme being the most quickly, because the SB feels Leo can relate to the vagaries of Supreme Beinghood. The Cancerian Moon is also always heaven for sharing fave fairy tales and myths with children…

Moonflower (or how the Moonhorses came to Japan)…is the sweetest little fairy tale…

“Hundreds of years before the Europeans developed rubber, the Aztecs mixed the juice of moonflower with tree latex to produce an elastic they made into rubber bands, hammers, and balls for a ritual game. A relative of the morning glory, moonflowert has its cousin’s heart-shaped leaves and vining habit, but instead of greeting the Sun, like the morning glory does, the flowers of this Moon plant open in late afternoon and stay open for one night, which makes them wonderful in Moon gardens. They are pollinated by moths drawn to their scent, which humans can smell too, if they have the genes for it (not everyone can perceive the scent of some white flowers).  The presence of moths in turn can attract bats, Hekate’s friends. Try inhaling the scent of moonflowers before doing divination or before going to bed in order to produce prophetic dreams…”  From here…

Fascinating re how some peeps don’t have the genes to smell some white flowers???  But i would be wary re even copping a whiff of Moonflower now, having read this…from here

“…Highly toxic! WARNING! These are some of the names for Datura: Jimson Weed, Moonflower, Devil’s Weed, Hell’s Bells. Devil’s Cucumber, Thorn-Apple, Devil’s Trumpet, Pricklyburr…”

Does anyone know about this stuff??

It would be so anti-Saturn-in-Virgo/Pluto in Cap to addle one’s brains sniffing Moonflower scent in the garden under the nearly-Full Cancerian Moon…BUT then again, you can buy Moonflower body wash (?!) on Amazon“…Used as a psychedelic in nordic traditions, the moonflower helps you find refuge. It is a blue escape, in the cold clear waters. with notes of boronia, freesia, apple blossom and birch, moonflower lit in the background will cause a welcome moment of recluse….”

But I am serious about the meditation though; most amazing weekend for it in yonks & may even help with the retro-Venus romantic nostalgia, if it strikes.

And another ancient Moon myth; the Babylon Moon God – Sin.

Blasto, my fave (discontinued) playstation game.

So Saturn opposed Uranus and all I got was this bad temper. Mind you, is also as p.m.t. + lovely Seven jeans feel tight-as. Thank you, jelly snakes and Jupiter nearing my Ascendant. But i’m onto it.  Am tuning into Saturn-in-Virgo: no tricks, no stupid food rules, just movement & ye olde willpower to not eat stodge.

Anyway, Aquarians. Especially the men: You guys now have Mars in your sign till March 15. So, whilst Arieans go all sooky-goo-goo and start drifting around pondering belly-jewels to make their navel-gazing even more fulfilling, reading Rumi & getting themselves caught up in (eek) conflicting, mysterious and yet alluring emotional merde – AQUARIANS are going to be like the new Arieans. Yes. Mars was last in Aquarius from late Feb to early April 2007.  But this time the planet of war, lust, ambition and energy is hyped by Jupiter, Chiron, Neptune and the North Node also in Aquarius.

So, Aquarians are going to be out of their (already avant-garde) minds, horny, militant and seething with megalomania. Lots of high-faluting inventive new schemes will be floated in the next few weeks. And, where-ever Aquarius is in your chart, is where all the action is and you can access Mars-energy. Oh, and the last time Mars was in Aquarius, Saturn was still opposing in Leo – in some cases, ideas that simply could not fly for whatever reason back in early 2007 will now be at least vaguely bouyant again.  So, Aquarians; Go forth and invent. If temper tantrums get too much for glacial you – channel the spaz into martial arts, the gym or even more reinvention. Meditation is probably a good idea but isn’t it only really Taureans and Scorpios who are any good at it??
