ameliaearhart

An expedition is on to find more info re Ms Amelia Earhart, the fearless pilot (and Leo) who disappeared in July 1937. She was fascinating and on this site here you can see what some say is a message from her, suggesting Earhart was held in capitivity. By the Japanese presumably. She was, at that point, the most famous woman in the world.

“These mysterious initials were found in a prison cell
on the walls of the Japanese Jail, Garapan, Saipan, and were
given to Tom Devine by William Grandt of Chicago who claims
to have the original photo. The letters are not Japanese. Gradt
said the photo was taken in 1944, and that he received it from
Jose Deloen Aspiros, now deceased, when he visited Saipan in
the late 1970s. The handwriting on the wall was first photographed
in 1944 and was not translated until a woman from Colorado gave
an interpretation of its mystic message. The initials “AE” are
boldly clear.
The arrow was interpreted as being one of the signs
of the planet Mars. The “4″ represents the planet Jupiter. The six
horizontal lines are the six lines of “I Ching” from the ancient Chinese
Book of Oracles. Within the six lines of I-Ching is the date “72″ or
July 2nd the date Earhart disappeared. Whoever put this inscription
on the wall of the Japanese Jail at Garapan knew their astrology and
knew their astrological chart.

In this inscription, Amelia is praying for action from the planet
Mars and good fortune from Jupiter. She is a “seven” as
there are seven letters in the Earhart name. The number
“seven” has double lines for emphasis. The six unbroken
lines represent the strongest of the Hexagrams of I-Ching.
She is crying out for Mars and Jupiter to come for her in
the hour of need. Mars and Jupiter appear as conjunct
on July 24, 1897, the date Amelia Earhart was born.”

Have a look at the inscriptions and see what you think I note that there was a Mars Jupiter conjunction on October 30 1937, months after she disappeared and that as a pilot used to flying by night she would have been familiar with these planets; they’re very bright. But familiar enough with astrology to do the Mars-Jupiter glyphs?

If it is the I-Ching hexagram – and it sure looks like it – then she has given it a ‘broken’ number 3 which would thus read: “Creative power that becomes known – but dangers lurk in the rise to fame.”

Camille Paglia wrote of her; “Amelia Earhart symbolizes modern woman’s invasion of the male world of daring adventure. As an aviator, she broke barriers and made the machine age her own. As a recreational athlete and automobile driver, she embodied fitness, energy and breezy mobility…Her ability to open her mysterious poetic inner self to the camera lens was as advanced as any movie stars…”

Her Chart: Sun in Leo conjunct South Node – bright soul from the past. Mars & Jupiter conjunct in Virgo – yes – but squaring her Moon + Pluto in Gemini. Also in Gemini; Venus, Ceres, Neptune & Part of Fortune. Uranus is conjunct Saturn in Scorpio.

The transits of Mars never passed un-noticed. They’re manifest & in your face.  The other day, when i dinged my head, I was having a Mars transit, for instance. The very same week coincided with the “outing” of open “enemies.”  But BECAUSE I was having a Mars transit, I thought ‘great.’  Better overt than covert. Yes, it all sounds a bit dramatic but fairly classic for any astro-passage involving Mars.  Ditto a short-tolerance for lack of respect, limitations and obstacles.

The upside of Mars???  A LOT of energy that if you channel it effectively can be amazingly productive. The guts to stick up for what is right & to take incisive strategic action, sans waffle or sentiment.

There are two different types of Mars transits – Mars zooms around the place & aspects – say – your Mercury or your Venus. So your talking or your love nature gets ‘Mars-ified’ for a few days. Mars on your Venus is excellent if you’re up for flirtation & new lust opportunities. Mars-Mercury is when you send off a trillion new biz pitches in a day.  And most likely tell someone or other to get effed.

The other type of Mars transit is when your natal Mars is triggered by a passing planet. If this is any planet past Jupiter, it can last for months, maybe years. These are the ones that it is totally worth keeping an eye on. Right now, for instance, anyone with Mars at Zero to five degrees of a Cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) or in the same degrees of Taurus/Virgo is having their Mars affected by Pluto; an awesome unleashing of power: ruthless self-regenerative powers.

Mars is in Gemini and moving to square Saturn (sigh) and then Uranus (yay) over the next few weeks. It will stress out les Mutables the most (Gemini, Virgo, Saggo, Pisces) but everyone gets it a bit…As Saturn and Uranus oppose one another in mid-Sept, Mars triggering both now is actually a really useful prequel of September tensions. No, they need not be tensions. An opposition can also be delightful balance

Again, it’s about trying to find the ideal state between  honouring Saturn (tradition, work ethic, discipline, corporations, security) and Uranus (innovation, excitement, freedom) without overdoing it either end. Too much Saturn and you’re a moribund drudge. Too much Uranus and  you’re a flake adrift.

Soooo Mars, as is his wont, is basically getting in there early and starting a fight between Saturn & Uranus way before it is even due. The square to Saturn perfects by August 11 and the one to Uranus by the 19th. There are friendly aspects to Mars from the Auspicious Aqua-Weirding so being grounded/sensible (to keep Saturn at bay, stay frugal, organised and humble) even as you self-actualise and do the rad Uranian thing is the way to go…

And of course, once Saturn has opposed Uranus in mid-September, our Mars heads into Leo for nearly nine months. And what does Mars do in Leo?  Acts out & shows off. Bigtime. Unreal if you’re a performer though…

Mars is now in Taurus & sticks it out their (Tenacity! Stamina! Guts! Endurance! True Grit!) till mid-July!  Mars first makes a brilliant trine to his liege-lord Pluto  & likewise friendly aspects to Saturn & Uranus but he squares off with Jupiter, Neptune & Chiron. In the olden days, rulers would send extra guards to mind their treasure when Mars was in Taurus. It’s a time when peeps are likely to get way more funny about the money & avaricious + stubborn. Venus gets into Taurus soon too so a lot less of the Ariean pioneering vibe. Reality & practical concerns emerge but it’s a more sensual atmosphere. There’s a sexy Mars-Venus conjunction in Taurus on the weekend of June 20/21 so that will be fun. Bear in mind that if you get into any variety of a fight over the next seven/eight weeks – everyone is going to be real stubborn. Even if you ain’t, don’t expect compromise to be a simple score.

I don’t know who this designer is but he/she/it is totally grokking my Winter wardrobe “statement”. As an Aquarius Rising, i LOVE the classic gray trackpant. Informal. Egalitarian. Add my Venus in Pisces appreciation of deshabille & perfect; the ideal outfit for a premenstrual trot up to the local. Or straight from the gym to the pub. An update of ‘resort wear’ for the Pluto In Capricorn era.

ANYWAY, i was actually wanting to give an example of astrology in action. The day before yesterday I had transitting Mars on my Sun & Psyche. All the good-Mars stuff happened; heightened determination & strong ideas for moving forward etc. But there were two other things. And, btw, I had not even bothered to  notice Mars whizzing over my Sun/Psyche. I looked later. Mars AND Venus right there. The Venusification was prob my saviour. Mars can be a Malefic (ie; shitty) but Venus is always a Benefic. (ie; Fab)

You see, when you have Uranus conjunct Venus going on, you’re too busy with your whacko love life & Aquarian men to think about flitty little Mars transits. Thing One; Was late to get my daughter from sports camp so jumped in taxi even though it was only a short way away. Did not bother with seatbelt as traffic at crawl. Smelt weirdly strong alcohol smell. Assumed that was prob some synthetic crap the guy had cleaned his cab with. Thought surely would not be actual booze. Heard voice – literally – that said to put seatbelt on. Ignored. Was in back seat. Going one kilometre up road at nano-crawl. Heard it again. Put on stupid seat belt.

Soooo suddenly we’re going fast, making some illegal left turn and screeching down road as twerp taxi drive tries to run a red light OUTSIDE the hospital A & E department. We narrrowly miss colliding with the van turning left legally and there is huge screech of brakes and both cars spinning off, stunt-car style. The van is a police van driven by two enraged young female constables. I am fine. But would prob not have been sans seatbelt. The Venusian aspect of all this is that had something happened, i would have been v.close to medical help and the the cops were -obviously – right there on the scene.

So an hour later walking home and Thing Two;  I get into a fight with a guy on the street. He looks slimey, asks me something or rather and I decide to ignore  him with Anglican hauteur. So he starts hassling this girl behind me. Asks her three times to go to the  pub with  him and then kind of wheedling but threatening ‘oh why not?’ and all t his other stuff. So finally I wheel around and go him. Not hysterically and not unreasonably. But definitely with a sort of Martian white-hot fury. Totally told him off (leave her along,  no means no etc) and he arced up and argued back. Could tell he longing to hit me and i was absolutely ready for him to give it a go as would have used right elbow, left hook, right upper cut and a knee in his groin. But he took off.

And no i don’t normally get into fights with guys in streets or relish a punch up. It’s worth keeping an eye on where Mars is. It definitely energises. A Mars conjunction is the strongest. Mars on your Venus is always an excellent pulling transit. Mars-Moon means you’re SO tetchy but can be quite insightful. Mars-Saturn is ruthlessly sorting admin and structural details of your life and/or confronting power. Mars-Jupiter is usually at the races, lol.

seuss_cat_in_the_hat_fish_stickerToday is the birthday of Dr Seuss a.k.a. Theodor Geisel…ultra-Pisces & surrealist genius.

He was born bang on a bigtime Lunar Eclipse with Mars conjunct Jupiter at Zero degrees Aries (super exuberant and inventive) square Neptune in Cancer (the children’s poet & visionary)…His Mercury in Aquarius conjunct Saturn (!) sextile Uranus and trine Pluto. That Saturn conjunct seems oddly austere for someone so brilliantly playful but consider also his enormous output, professionalism and the longevity of his work, his brand.

My fave Dr Seuss & still sends my teenage son all shivery even now is the one about the pants with nobody in them…I think it’s supposed to be sort of an allegory about how silly most scary stories are…?

And so now we zoom into a fortnight of Aqua-Aqua-Aqua. Mars on Jupiter, Venus sextile Jupiter. The North Node’s involved. Mercury moves bk into Aquarius. Avant-garde & expansive Jupiter, Neptune & Chiron are all moving toward a spectacular conjunction in late May. The area of your scope where Aquarius reigns is lighting up. Time to totally individuate.Venus in Aries goes back and forth pinging off all the planets in Aqua.

And, I don’t know if the last Sun-Sign-Query Du Jour actually yielded a firm result. I suppose i ought to go through & delineate some clear conclusions. Fixed signs – I thought – are definitely less forgiving than the Mutables. With Mutables it depends which hour of the day/phase of their endorphin-hormonal cycle you ask then.

Okay – this question ought to elicit some interesting results; Again, state your Sun Sign please. Or if you have your Sun in one sign but the Moon and several planets in another, feel free to state that.

ON WHAT OCCASIONS – IF EVER – ARE YOU NOSTALGIC???

My flip thoughts; Arieans are nostalgic about their youthful sporting prowess,  Taureans re great meals & comfy hotels, Geminis rarely ever but if they are it’s a random flash triggered by a snatch of music, Cancerians all the time and it extends to ancestor worship & psychometry, Leos re fabulous outfits and parties where they arrived late, outshining everyone else…their stage moments, should they be performers, obviously.

Virgoans pine for a sort of imaginary utopia of all bills paid, nothing in need of repair, them at their perfect weight, the house freshly painted, Librans get flash nostalgia re scent & like to moon over long-ago lovers for leisure but only the good-looking ones, Scorpios are nostalgic re sex & occult matters, Saggos re their trips, treks & unfettered backpacking days + being stoned on a beach, Capricorns for when their parents were young and they thought said parents were cool, also a lot of nostalgic pride re awards/trophies/prizes.

Aquarians live in the future – not the past & Pisceans are only nostalgic with a purpose – ie: they are delving into the past to try and extract some gem of an insight.
