Mars At The Zero Leo Point

For various esoteric reasons, Mars just sitting on the Zero Degree of Leo, as he has been from March 1 and will be till March 22, is quite profound. It trines the magical Zero Aries Point, for a start. Never mind. Just see it as focussing the mind somewhat. As well as been madly frustrating. Like revving an engine but you’re not going anyplace. Or endless copulation sans climax. Still, it ain’t as bad as that interminable Mars in Taurus Retro we had in late 2005/early 2006 that squared everything. At least with Mars in Leo, you can hype your ego and get a lot of manicures whilst hissing your latest “policy” to anyone still listening or even some paid help.

Now two things: If you have NOT got Martian Bats, you really should consider it. Mars in Leo just carries on and on until June. Scroll down the page to see the Mars bit. If you do have the password, please re-read it as Mars is just peaking now and until March 22. Even though its direct next week, it stays stuck on the Zero point.

Secondly: Apart from Martian Bats and all that info, you can look to the part of your personal chart where you have Zero Degrees of Leo and consider just absolutely blasted with Mars energy (heat, guts, gorm, glory, fury, lust, irritation, Qi, etc) for the next SEVENTEEN days.  Yes, it’s only been five days with Mars going batso at Zero Degrees of Leo. This is also the point he was at back in mid-October, if that is of interest. So events/emotions etc from then are triggered…

Sooo, an ex-lover of baseball champion Alex Rodriguez (A.k.a. A-Rod and the gentleman linked to Madonna for a bit) has come forth and told the NY Daily News that “his vanity is of mythic proportions.”

My god, the gentleman is a LEO and an wealthy, sports superstar Leo at that. I mean, what’s not to indulge there. But the Ex then claims that the gigantic pics of himself above the athlete’s bed are of him as a Centaur.

That’s interesting.  It makes me think that someone has done his chart and that he’s got Saggo Rising & thus he’s sort of working that. Because, some astrologers WOULD say that. I mean, to work the Sagittarius Rising angle, for extra luck. No birthtime online for  him but he’s got Neptune in Saggo at 9 degrees. Saggo Rising would fit as he is (a) obviously into sports and (b) he has a certain goo-goo eyed Neptunian charisma along with the Leonic stuff.

Or maybe he does not give a damn for his astro and he’s just really, really into Centaurs?

Or perhaps the ex-lover was a bit dim and the mythological creatures that A-Rod had himself painted into as gigantic portraits hanging above the bed (I would never do that but so totally admire the chutzpah) were something else…like Minotaurs? He has got Mars in Taurus.

Mars Void…Then Into Gemini

That sense of ease & that maybe it’s okay to kick back a tad is not just apres Eclipse. Nooo. It’s also to do with Mars being Void. That is, Mars is in the last degrees of Taurus and makes no major aspects before moving into Gemini on Sat Night (USA) Sunday Morning (UK) and early arvo (Australia.)

Mars rules assertion, anger, aggression, ambition, libido & courage. It’s what we need when we start new things, defend the weak and get a grip. Mars is narking off at a surly shop assistant a bit more intensely than intended as well as the discipline required to work  out effectively and see results. It’s sex drive and lust for life itself.

Arieans – who are Mars-ruled – should especialy hold back on any major action initiatives until Mars switches signs…Ditto Taurus & Gemini. It would not be bad, as such, just not ideal. Triple check yourself if you think you might be going O.T.T. with the force of your personality or demands.

But isn’t it lovely having that Fixed Square pressure (Mars in Taurus square Jupiter, Neptune & Chiron a.k.a. the Auspicious Aqua-Weirding) lifting a bit. Mars in Gemini is always fun – a lot of scattered Qi, games & dual motives. Don’t take it personally. Everyone’s gonna want multiple options & a light, glib touch.

You know, no doubt, of the “dark horse” cliche – this is more of a Dark Unicorn moment.

Seriously! Totally! I mean as in that one can attain a Unicorny degree of blameless clarity or even innocence/a fresh start feeling but it comes with a darker edge of self-knowing.

The Full Moon Eclipse in Capricorn is about neo-pragmatism – a feeling of foreboding that lifts the nano you face up to one icky fact or another and start to make cohesive plans. It’s like Saturn. Yes? So not a good time to float about being gaga & lazy or unrealistic. It’s all Earth-Earth-Earth so be grounded.

Yes, you have to work a BIT harder at firing  up the old self-belief as there is a paucity of Fire Sign action in the skies right now; you generate the heat from secret stores of Qi? But, as if to compensate, remember that Mars IS going to spend nearly NINE MONTHS in Leo from October…And some of that will include Uranus in Aries.

What will Uranus in Aries be like? I reckon it will be cool. This dude was born with Uranus in Aries & his generation produced some fantastic inventive peeps.

I did an extended rave re the Mars going Ape component of this Eclipse in Daily Mystic & the Scopes but in short; stay pragmatic & evolving even as some super-sensitive areas are tweaked. Sensational psych dreaming.

Mmmm and the Moon is in antsy old Aries until the morning of Thursday in Los Angeles & New York, mid-arvo Thurs in London and just after midnight so very early Friday AM in Sydney.

Tetchy, ambitious & energy to burn but soooo frustrated at things that don’t move quick enough…which they just damn well WON’T during a Dark Moon and with Mars sludging along in Taurus, waiting for Venus to catch up and the party to start. But the Moon in Aries does not give a fuq about any of that; Moon in Aries wants action – now, cut-through – within the next five minutes and to outwit/outlive/out-think/out perform and out everything all those who have ever dissed her/him.

You need to channel the Ramzilla vibe correctly or elst you WILL start bitching it up. Frenetic physical activity, cleaning, working, martial arts, saving people, sex if you are not too bad tempered, striding along furiously toting up the peeps who diss you & typing definitive No-More missives of shit.

Maya, Venus & Mars

Especially when Venus in the sign of her Dignity – Taurus – meets Mars in his Detriment. Ie: Mars is a co-ruler of Scorpio and so in the opposite sign to Scorp he not so well placed. But Venus a.k.a. the feminine force is powerful. Big seduction weekend if you’re up for it.  Arty too. Major primal lust-for-life force & super hi-Qi despite the Dark Moon.

I know. Tres cheesy. And Stud or Dud is hideously sexist to guys but it is light-hearted, yah?

Some Mars signs are super-well-placed…Mars in Aries, the sign it rules, Mars in Capricorn (exalted) and Mars in Scorpio, ruled by Mars before Pluto was discovered.  Mars in the opposite signs of this lot is considered way less strong; Mars in Libra, Mars Cancer and Mars in Taurus. Also Mars in Pisces – this being the sign that Venus is exalted in.

Men with Mars in Libra, Cancer or Taurus could (technically) be said to exhibit a higher degree of pass-agg behaviour or have probs asserting themselves directly. Note that Mars rules ambition, energy levels, anger & libido. It also rules “men”.  Now, IF the Mars is on the Midheaven (Capricornian vibe) or Ascendent (Aries-like vibe) then it’s considered to be strong enough to cancel out even a less-desirable sign placement. Likewise the Houses. The 1st, 8th and 10th houses are all super-strong placements for Mars.

Mars in negative aspect to Neptune seems to so often associated with the official vices (OTT addictions & gambling + general neer do well grifting). Mars in challenging aspect to Saturn, Pluto & Uranus can also produce the classic rebel sans cause or even an overly angry guy. Note how I am tempering my language. This is not meant to be diagnostic astro for any guy in your life – as charts are complex things! But leaving aside the worst-case Mars scenarios, it’s really interesting to look at your man’s Mars sign for better understanding.

For instance, if a man has Mars in Libra, he WILL dither and it’s got nothing to do with you…Mars in Aries runs a hell of a lot on Respect & Pride; don’t kill it. Mars in Virgo WILL wig over details & crap service. If  you see a man with a Kataka (Cancerian) Mars, you’re most likely looking at some convoluted seduction style. If a man with Mars in Scorp or Capricorn wants you,  you’ll know all about it. They don’t muck about. Mars-In-Taurus moves at glacial pace & is super-hard to budge from an entrenched situation. Mars in Gemini will “jump” fast. Are you getting it?

Moon in Scorpio AND Mars in Taurus trine Pluto in Cap; this is so savagely earthing, grounded, sensual, primal and yet ever so bats as the Moon belts toward being Full in Set-Me-Free Saggo…Positive power tripping and optimistic, non-defensive borders can work in the before-math of this moon. Or read She for an astro-appropriate,  super-Goth, feminist & cultural trip & a half…Venus now chases Mars & she catches him on June 21, with Saturn in fave aspect. A lot of love/lust stories achieve a satisfying conclusion around then;

You know what…? In July – just in time for Eclipse Season – Mars in Taurus will square Jupiter, Chiron & Neptune. And that is when you will be happy that you worked like a dogged bull (lol) in June & got everything lined up. Mars in Taurus is a worker. You plod away, pulling the plough and employing stamina along with the magical thinking. More on this in the Nightly Scopes & Daily Mystic but essentially, don’t waste your powers of truculence resisting change or in pointless disputes. Use them to never-ever-give in. But if you’re some tight-lipped stoic grimly battling on to be the last person chez neighourhood to uphold some (do admit) had-it status quo, you’ll loathe the next few months.

Whichever area/sector/house of your chart has Taurus is where you’re grounded, sensual and beautiful but also capable of being SUCH A STUBBORN SOD & heaven help anyone who messes with your ’stuff’ in that area of life.

BTW re the image above – i see the art in it and as a vegetarian since the age of 5, i see also the poignant horror. The golden horns are artistically and alchemically significant and there is a massively interesting artistic statement behind the work.

Mars is now in Taurus & sticks it out their (Tenacity! Stamina! Guts! Endurance! True Grit!) till mid-July!  Mars first makes a brilliant trine to his liege-lord Pluto  & likewise friendly aspects to Saturn & Uranus but he squares off with Jupiter, Neptune & Chiron. In the olden days, rulers would send extra guards to mind their treasure when Mars was in Taurus. It’s a time when peeps are likely to get way more funny about the money & avaricious + stubborn. Venus gets into Taurus soon too so a lot less of the Ariean pioneering vibe. Reality & practical concerns emerge but it’s a more sensual atmosphere. There’s a sexy Mars-Venus conjunction in Taurus on the weekend of June 20/21 so that will be fun. Bear in mind that if you get into any variety of a fight over the next seven/eight weeks – everyone is going to be real stubborn. Even if you ain’t, don’t expect compromise to be a simple score.
