Oh dear, it was too late to scrap the January 2010 cover, apparently.

In my previous rant re Tiger Woods & his astro, i was way sympathetic to his Saturn-Uranus square…I was seeing him as non-stop Saturn Man, with the occasional Uranian outlet for his mega-corporate & athletic-in-focus life. Well, as it  happens, he is VERY in tune with his Uranian urges.

I WAS right about his Lilith bent- whenever Dark Moon Lilith is so active, there has to be some element of prostitution, the Shadow-Venusian-feminine etc. It’s arguable but Lilith is linked with the prostitute archetype for sure.

But my god, poor Mrs Tiger & all but he is such a good ad for the Capricorn powers of organisation…His time management skills much be unreal. His Mars is opposite Neptune…Next…major drug allegation?

The Scented Salamander

Opium was MASSIVE in the 80s. To me, it’s practically like the scent of the Eighties. Every sophisticated but slightly batso older woman i knew in that decade seemed to favour it. It’s distinct.

So now, here we go with the relaunch & it is a la the D & G Tarot Fragrances in that Y.S.L. is giving the juice an Occult spin.  I mean, the “scented salamander?” Would love to know the thinking behind this. Is it is emphasise the mystical, Oriental style as opposed to something linked to smack?

Mythologically, the Salamander is fabulous, in the real sense of the word. Reputedly a powerful poisonous creature, it’s colder than ice and thus immune to fire. So it’s a bit like a less noble Phoenix and most often depicted as perfectly happy, basking amidst flames. Some ancient pics of Adam and Eve have a Salamander,  not the Snake/Lilith tempting Eve with the apple.

So a Scented Salamander translated into being a woman would be cold & icy of persona but happiest in dramatic surroundings, poisonous and cool…? Okay, she’s a redhead so there is another Fire reference and what is she doing with the bottle. It looks like she’s about to chuck it at someone.

Saturn Heads Into Libra & Angels Are The New Vampires

This makes perfect sense to me as Angels seem v.v. Saturn in Libra – clean, fluffy, godly and all. Whereas Vampires could very easily vibe Virgoan and a bit neurotic. All that fussing about blood types, diet, purity, having to keep totally regular hours or else they will disintegrate or whatever. So bring on the Angels!!

And I would have gone ape over these Joey W Hill books when i was 14. Is that like a Lilith style of succubi writhing around with a studly looking clearly hovering on the verge of falling Angel???

Dark Moon Goddess Hecate

Like Lilith, Hecate is a Dark Moon Goddess & deals with the more shadowy aspects of our lives. Especially secret woman’s biz. She is sometimes considered a Crone goddess (Crone comes from Chronos, for time) and sometimes a Virgin goddess…but generally she is a Goddess of magic, ghosts, storms, the night, dreams, cross roads and wild animals. She is able to see into all worlds and guards the border between this world and the spirit world.

She is considered the Goddess of Trivia which sounds stupid until you remember that trivia comes from the Latin “tri via” or three streets. A retired Roman soldier was posted at each such junction and was supposed to be able to answer any question at all…no matter how trivial, lol.  Hecate has similarities to Hermes and to Isis along with others. One of the titles was The Distant One and it was her who rescued Persephone when she was taken to the Underworld.

Hecate rules in this time – the Dark Moon & she is who you are meant to call upon when crossing a MAJOR border in your life, to aid in dream messaging and divination or during dark times…If you have a prominent Hecate in your chart, all these themes are infused into your everyday being. She is Asteroid 100 and you can add her into your chart using the Astrodienst Extended Chart Options.This statue of Hecate is in the Vatican City. Ancient, of course, but nobody knows who did it.

This is inadvertently one of the best descriptions of Pisces I’ve read!  Drew Barrymore is a multiple conjunct Pisces: Sun, Psyche, Pallas, Lilith, Jupiter and Venus all in Pisces.

Another Quote…from her: “I’m a Yin-and-Yang Piscean, I’m an oxymoron of a dichotomy of a double-sided being.”

Lilith: The Bitch Is Back

Guess what???  Those primal throbbings ain’t just Pluto in slo-mo, stationing Direct. Nor Saturn revving up to oppose Uranus again. Dark Moon Lilith is conjunct the North Node in Capricorn. Let’s just say Lilith is the Bitch Goddess & that she is a Good Thing. Archaic feminine power and all that. And so we have Dark Moon Lilith conjunct (very powerful) the North Node (manifest destiny) and in the mega-pragmatic sign of Capricorn at 27 to 29 degrees of Capricorn.

So who has been vowing to be (productively) more of a bitch lately? Especially where it pertains to clearing out the crappy old residue from being too nice, sentimental and goo-goo. Like Saturn Girl, Lilith in Capricorn hasn’t much time for L.O.A. style thinking – she’s set & forget when it comes to boundaries/standards et al. But with the North Node involvement, the boundaries are more like borders between two different eras.

The Saturn-Uranus opposition links in nicely as well – Saturn in Virgo is trining Lilith & Uranus sextile. So it’s like harnessing the power of Saturn/Lilith to achieve Uranian ends, if you like. Ditto the North Node ends as being our “ideal” future. And being enough of a bitch to jettison those elements of the past that don’t work or not wanting to go back to a place you CAN’T revisit…and why would you want to???

And, btw, this is so beautiful and such a lovely omen: if you look up in the sky at night right now, you can see the nearly Full Moon very close to Jupiter, the Greater Benefic and official auspicious planet. Fab for Aquarians! Have a look and make a wish.

Astro-Ryan O’Neal – Astrological Prick Indicators?

Yo, Find-My-Goddess dude, all is forgiven!  Okay, Ryan O’Neal seems like an abject prick. Having a background in journalism, i tend not to judge peeps being slagged off in the media, as i know how easily they can be stitched up, taken out of context etc. But the Daily Mail’s “I Chatted Up My Own Daughter At Farrah Fawcett’s Funeral” article on Ryan O’Neal is SOMETHING ELSE.

It is short & basically a pithy little summary of the Vanity Fair piece out soon but YICK.

So, okay, I whip up  his chart and go looking for astrological prick indicators (A.P.I.) and voila – the classic afflicted Mars. Ladies and male gays, take note. The “afflicted” Mars is the classic astro-omen of trouble when you are looking at men. Not all men with a trickily aspected Mars are difficult pricks with drugs or violence issues but plenty are.   PLEASE don’t e-mail me to defend your precious snookums who has never laid a hand on you excepting for tantric sex at which he excels and he always puts the rubbish  out sans complaint. I am just saying that in SOME cases, a man with Mars square his Saturn, Uranus, Pluto or Neptune can be a piece of work.

Ryan O’Neal is a multiple conjunct Taurus. He has Sun Venus at Zero degrees Taurus so there is sex appeal, beauty and charm for sure, prob v.strong before dissipated. And so Sun, Venus, Lilith, Part  of Fortune, Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus ALL In Taurus and all in the 11th house. Which gives him a strong Aqua-Uranian flavour. So he is a multiple conjunct Taurus + it’s squaring his Mars and Moon in Aquarius…So he’s a Fixed Square in motion. Could be a saint, of course, but also immense frustration & could alternate between cloying neediness/control freakery and Aqua spaciness/don’t fence-me-in OR ELSE.  Just to add to the fixed square theme, he’s got squares from Pluto in Leo as well.

And he’s got Neptune all over his Aqua-Moon this  year & next so now what? MORE Neptunian substances??? He could claim to be in touch with Farrah Fawcett from the Other Side and try to set up a church. Neptune-Moon can be super-spiritual and awakening but given the Daily Mail story above, I am not confident of this guy’s form. Seriously read it!

And, given the massive conflict between Taurus & Aquarius in this guys chart, what could have done (or do!) to create a better expression of it???  He’s Cancerian Rising so parenthood could have been his salvation. But, well, hitting on your daughter at your lovers funeral AND introducing another child to drugs – allegedly – would be an odd form of it, no? Poor Farrah.

Leo Hair Jealousy

It’s funny but people go ON and ON about the Leonic Madonna’s determination to look ever-young & stay, you know, relevant. But what about the way-older Leo Mick Jagger??? He’s been a fitness-fiend, vitamin vampire puller of young things for yonks longer than Madonna. Does anyone really bitch it up re him??  Seriously, is it sexism? Leos can’t help it. It’s who they are. Jagger has the Sun, Jupiter, Pluto, Lilith, Mercury, North Node and Part of Fortune all together in Leo – he’s a mega-multiple conjunct Leo. I reckon he would have suffered dreadful Hair Jealousy of Jerry Hall.

Also re Leos – i think there are two broad types; one is the Bon Vivant Leo, who cares not so much for vanity or the appearance of youth but likes to Live-it-up indefinitely. So they may get fat but it will be gourmet fat. And plumpness from fine restaurant pig-outs IS actually diff from fast-food binge fat. I think maybe as the complexion stays reasonable? Then there is Vanity-Leo who will do any diet, any exercise ritual – what-ever it takes – to stay at what he/she considers their peak. The word “decline” is simply not a valid concept to them.

Barbara Cartland’s Birthday!

It is the birthday of Dame Barbara Cartland, author of approximately 723 books but best known for her romances. I went briefly bats for them when i was about 13, hoovering them up like crisps but they weren’t libidinal enough so i moved on. But apparently, her earlier books were sensationalist & banned et al. She calmed down post Chiron Return, in her early 50s.

Her books had fabulous titles such as The Angel & The Rake, Again The Rapture, Bride To A Brigand, The Lady & The Highwayman + my fave: The Haunted Heart.  BTW; if you don’t realise – “rake” is ye olde work for player. Hell knows how that came about. Thoughts?

The Dame was an early adopter of vitamins & health food – zealously recommending ginseng, bee pollen & brewers yeast to television hosts on her frequent media spots. She was step-grand-mother to Princess Diana – another Cancerian – and wore only pink, for her aura. She said of Diana: “The only books Diana ever read were mine and they weren’t awfully good for her.” As a council member, she barracked for the rights of midwives & gypsies. She is one of the best-selling authors of all time.

Her astro? She is a Cancerian Sun, of course and it is conjunct Mercury – classic signifier of the writer & she was certainly prolific. She had Venus in Leo – note opulence, in pic above & my theory is that Venus in Leo just LOVES to develop a Signature Look that sustains them spiritually and which they avidly stick to. True? False?

Moon – i think – in Aries so proto-feminist for sure. And would fight for what she believed in. Jupiter & Saturn conjunct in Cap  trine Mars in Virgo so tremendous work ethic even though she could have just settled for being a wife and/or vapid socialite…Weirder, Uranus OPP Pluto – WHAT a generation & Lilith conjunct North Node.

See, in her later career she made all her heroines virgins whom mysterious circumstances lead into having to hang around with handsome sociopathic & promiscuous aristocratic men about to be conquered by her purity – like she is a Unicorn – but in HER life, she went through a rather nasty scandal (infidelity, divorce et al in an age/class where such things very difficult) to be with the man she loved. And she went on tv in her mid-80s or something to boast about how her health methods (cold showers, bee pollen, steak tartare for brek) kept him virile and them both very active.
